As a woman, it s difficult to find a mechanic you can trust with your vehicle. I m very blessed to have found The Transmisi�n Shop. John is very HONEST & KNOWLEDGE , kept me informed every step of the way explaining the repairs in detail and providing fair pricing. Anyone in need of a RELIABLE TRUSTWORTHY OPERATE WITH INTEGRITY automotive serviceNot to mention Great Service on the tow driver Blue Smith, he was kind and professional it s a flat bed tow truck,not only did he load up My Baby with care to take it to be repaired, I also received a call to let me know my truck was delivered safe and sound.I Highly Recommend This Business.

So i have a car that's near and dear to my heart. I've owned the car for quite awhile, so needless to say it's very hard to trust anyone with it when it goes wrong. Well when the transmission gave out on me, i was lost. I didn't want a crummy used one from the juke yard. I wanted to do the job properly. So i called around for some different prices on rebuilds for transmissions. When i contacted The Transmission Shop on Forrest Lane in Garland Texas, i felt very comfortable and confident that this would be the place to fix my vehicle.John was very knowledgeable and considerate of my needs for my car. Everything he told me was true. The transmission shop picked my car up and took care of the Beast for me within a reasonable amount of time. I've had my car back now for over a month now and i half to say first off WOW WOW. The shifts a creamy and smooth, i feel nothing when shifting into different gears. After the 500 mile break in period, I've taken the car to Houston and Paris Texas within a two week period and the car is excellent. Thank you so much to the transmission shop for taking care of my car (the Beast). For anyone who reads my reviews on Google know i don't exaggerate about spending my money. So i highly recommend this shop for all of your transmission needs. I look forward to our next project together.

Just picked up my van today. Customer service was great. Price was fair and turnaround time was faster than expected. Will update if I run into any issues with the rebuild, but I don't have a reason to believe they wouldn't take care of my vehicle if something does come up. Thanks again!

Had a total rebuild of my 1 ton work van transmission at the Garland shop in January 2024. I was very satisfied with the job, but after only. driving about 800 miles, it started making a whining noise. They were able to diagnose and replace the manufacturers defecive torque converter under warranty in just over 2 days and got me back to work with minimal downtime. Great place for repairs for all your powertrain needs. Mr. John is a great guy. They work with aftermarket, extended warranty companies. He ll keep you updated on the progress and there and was pretty fast by my standard.

Everything was explained and the repairs were made quickly. No upsaling or trying to fix things that didn t need repairs like I experienced at the dealership. Very reliable and honest!! The Transmission Shop Garland location is the best! Thank you John!

Great price, great job. Saved a ton compared to a new transmission. Mine was a little tricky, and I appreciate that they took care to make sure it was right. Great advice on breaking it in and driving a little more gently for the first 500 miles. Thank you!

They rebuilt my 2007 4L60E with 100k on it. It was serviced at 50k and ran great until recently the transmission was overheating. They did a great job on the rebuild and the truck runs like new.

Never take your vehicle to this place I took a ram 2500 had a transmission issue so they checked it and told me they had to rebuild the transmission so they did it week later they called me that it s ready. I picked it up right when I drove off the shop it was doing the same exact transmission Problem and paid like over $6,000. Took it back and took another two weeks. they are not careful, win they take them down their left because my spring was off. You can see on that photo. worst experience ever and rip off

You can get a free quote, they are very honest. In my case there was nothing wrong with the transmission, they did not try to lie to me or upsale anything. They definitely have my business for future transmission issues.

I took my vehicle here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately after 3 weeks of vehicle going untouched I decided to take my vehicle out, I understand things get busy but some communication from the beginning would have been greatly appreciated. This isnt a bad review on the shop just just some feedback based on my experience.

Absolute crooks, always way over quoting pricing, then when you decline the way over priced service they tell you they can't reinstall your transmission and the best they can do is load it into your bed/trunk and you can have it towed. These guys will try to rob you. These guys give modern mechanics a bad look!

I thought I had a transmission issue. They looked at my car and recommended a great place to get what I actually had to get done and never charged for a quick check. If I ever have issues with my transmission I'll for sure check them out.

Don't hesitate to use this shop for all your transmission needs and service. Honest, upfront, and committed. Price is very fair and super clear communication throughout the process. Also offers in house tow services that's cheaper than a 3rd party tow. Warranty is better than most other shops offer as welll. Visit John at the Garland location and he'll take care of you. Checked out my car for free after a diagnosis from another shop and gave my transmission a clean bill of health. Recommended a second opinion from an import shop based on the estimate I got from the ORIGINAL shop, which turned out to be a very wise suggestion. I ll definitely come back for an actual transmission problem. Wish we had come here for my husband s Nissan transmission since I saw they re specially trained in Nissan s CVTs.Service: Transmission

Brought my car in with a service code indicating a transmission problem. When they looked at it, they found that the issue appeared to be in the wiring and electric components and not the transmission itself. They didn t charge me a thing even though I needed to take my repair elsewhere. Really helpful shop. Jon is a straight shooter and very knowledgeable about his craft. Before I went anywhere with my car and transmission, I researched not only when the most honest places in town but places with expertise. I can say there's a reason transmission is in the name.Jon was very helpful when during the Transmission repair even when the transmission I was sold by LKQ turned out to be shotty. He helped by telling me to be sure to get my warranty money and giving me a free inspection when things seemed broken.

I can't say enough good about these people. I took my trailblazer to Eagle in Lavon and they quoted me a price. After they had it tore down they called me and had added another $1000 to the job of a vehicle I drove in. I was amazed. After talking to a couple of people I was referred to the transmission shop heavily. I called and told them what had happened. They told me they would handle it and for the original price. They drove across town and loaded my car on a wrecker in pieces and took it back to there shop. I had my car back in 3 days completely repaired and for the original price plus they gave me a 3yr 36,000 mile warranty, which was 12mnths. And 12,000 miles more than than Eagle. I have had the car since Dec. and it has worked flawlessly. Just wanted to give a big thank you to The Transmission Shop and all your guys.Service: Transmission

If I could give them a zero I would. They have the poorest customer service possible. My car sat for weeks just to find out what was wrong with it and it was never seen. The worst part of it was the poor communication or should I say NO communication. I had to call each week to find out if there was any answers yet and each time I called, they seemed bother to even get the call. Eventually I had to take it to another business who was so professional, they called me within 48 hours with some results. Don't waist your time like I did on a business who doesn't seem to care about providing good service!Service: Transmission

I took my 2004 2500 diesel ram for a transmission rebuild here and it didn t last much. Took it back and they took for ever to work on it again and now it will be the third time it goes back In for the same problem .

John was responsive and helpful from day one. We were afraid the car may be unsalvageable but he worked with us and helped us get the best possible deal with the money we had. Was also very communicative every step of the way. The towing charge was also reasonable and there weren t a lot of additional service fees tacked on like so many others business are known to do. THEY ARE HONEST. The transmission shop get my five stars review , I bought my flat bed tow truck while back and I had an issue with the transmission shifting funny I took to two different mechanics and they said that I need transmission then I took it to the transmission shop and I spoke with John they did there diagnostic test on it, then I get a call from john saying ur transmission is fine all you need I think was a brindle switch around $200-300 job. Sure enough they brought my truck back on track few years later recently I had to take my truck back to them because my truck it goes on limp mode and stop shifting right so they did the diagnostic on it then called me again saying my tuck is fine and nothing wrong with the transmission free diagnostic charge. Thanks a lot John
