My impressions from my 1st visit was that they are honest, and upfront about what is wrong with your vehicle. They explained to me what the problem was with my A/C and what the possible solutions were. It just so happens I was able to fix the A/C myself and save a lot of money on the repair. I gladly paid them the diagnostic fee, and they now have a new dedicated customer. Will be taking my Z28 to them about the A/C soon. They repaired/fixed my A/C and is working great now and at a reasonable cost. Have done more repairs to my car and pickup and am satisfied with the work.11-24-2021Problem: 1997 Camaro Z28, 5.7 LT1. After temp has reached normal(about 185) as I accelerate the temperature gauge goes up to the red after about 1 to 2 miles, I turn it off for 30 seconds and it's back to normal temp 185 to 200�, same repeats each time I accelerate. The coolant level was low by about 1 pint or less. Rick's solution was to drive with the A/C on all the time so the fan would run and keep the engine at normal temps. They "Gave up on finding the problem with the leak" the overheating problem was caused simply by low coolant level due to leak/air in the system...Update---: I've found the problem with my car getting low on coolant and eventually overheating. I had to replace the radiator cap because I thought that it may be bad, causing the radiator to pull air in instead of fluid from the reservoir. It was a cheap cap and the center of it was caved in slightly. The radiator kept being about half a pint low every time I checked it once a week or so, but I couldn't find a leak and it was not in the oil. So I wondered what would happen if the hose that goes from the radiator to the reservoir was clogged? Yesterday (03-26-22) I pulled the battery out to get to the hose to see it and what I found was that the hose had a hole in it where it rubbed the bottom of the battery. I'm guessing that this hole was stopping the radiator from pulling in coolant and it was getting air instead. I now know this was the problem because now after checking the coolant level it now stays full.Thank you Rick's, I've never had a shop tell me they gave up on a problem. But I guess you guys know your limits. At least your not like Goodyear in Mansfield TX, and have me replace $1200 worth of front end parts and turned out it was only a $10 bushing that was warn out causing the play in the steering.You guys are very good at A/C and electrical problems though...Pic is after repair.PS: I haven't went through the camera footage yet...Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Air conditioning, Vehicle safety inspection

I took my 2007 Toyota to Ricks Auto and repairs were made. I called into advise that my Check engine light was on and if that could be added the diagnosis check for potential repair. I was told that he did not notice but after the test drive there was no check engine light showing. I was told that all was checked and the vehicle was ready to go.The same day I brought my vehicle home, my van did not want to start so I called the shop back and was told "Oh I forgot to call you and tell you that the mechanic said your battery was bad". How exactly was a 21 point inspection performed and repairs were made but a bad battery was not relayed to me prior to pickup?Additionally, the check engine light reappeared once I repossessed my vehicle and learned that my ignition coils needed to be replaced. I've decided to take it to another shop for repairs as I feel this business is not thorough. It could very well be the mechanic is great at what he does but the middle man or the individual Sam that I dealt with is unfair or dishonest.I also brought my 2015 Ram in to get checked out and was told the diagnosis charge would range from $80-$100 dependent on a few factors and if we decided to continue with the repairs, dx charge would be waived. I called and spoke to Sam again, who advised that my motor needed to be replaced. I proceeded to ask the price for that and was quoted at $8,900 for a used engine. The mechanic that did the actual diagnosis called me back a day later to provide the details of the issue and stated that a used motor plus repair would estimate around $6,500. HUGE DISCREPANCY and difference in price!! I decided we need a second opinion and stated we'd be in to pick up the truck. When my husband returns with the receipt for a dx charge, it appears he was charged $150.Somethings wayyyy off with the staff, most especially Sam. I wholeheartedly believe there is false pretense by a specific individual at Ricks Auto. I will never be going back NOR do I wish this happen to another person. Mechanic work in general and all the details of the process will never be as truthful as you hope. Unless you personally educate yourself. NEVER AGAIN. Sometimes you gotta pay the price to true, honest and reliable mechanics in order to ensure they get the job done right the first time.RICK'S AUTO SHOP IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO!! Save your money for a few extra $$ dollars and get it done right by an established Company!! Cheaper is not always better. Lesson learned!!

This place is the BEST! I have owned 4 different cars over the last 10 plus years and myself and friends have always come back to Rick s. They are fair, honest, efficient and just plain nice. You can feel good about taking your vehicle here for any kind of update or repair. I have owed American and foreign cars and they have always been the best price and the most efficient. You will feel like family when you go to Rick s and you will always feel at ease and safe with your decision. They are trustworthy and kind with every decision they make about your vehicle!!! Highly highly recommend!!!!

I was refeered to Rick's Auto by a family friend several years ago, and have not been dissappointed for once. My latest trip after being involved in an accident has me all the more impressed with their services. They remain genuine with their diagnosis with fair and competitive pricing. It's the quality of work and the promptness that I appreciate the most. I sure will continue to refer family and friends. Glad to have my car back. So I purchased a cheap BMW after getting hit by a drunk driver, which totalled my truck. The car had numerous issues, suspension, clutch and check engine light. One of my friends recommended taking my car to Alex and glad he did. Alex was very knowledgeable (BMW is a special kind of car haha) he replaced all my suspension components including bushings that another place missed. They replaced my clutch and fixed my vacuum leaks that were causing my check engine light. Car has 220k miles on it and runs like a champ, thanks Alex. His price was great, especially compared to BMW and cheaper than the other place I got a quote from. All in all I would definitely go back with any car issue and would highly recommend this place.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Slow. Over priced. Yes it is valid. The motor mounts you are talking about failed after 5 months. I contacted you and was told they were not under warranty .

I purchased my Honda Touring 2016 CR-V at Lute Riley. The aHonda required a new/replacement passenger side mirror, expensive $726dollars! Due to expense at dealership, (quote was to purchase mirror was over $700.00 and $300to $500 for install, total cost over $1200. @ dealership). Well experienced Rick s Auto purchased mirror for my Honda 2016CR-V at Lute Riley, where I purchased the auto. Rick s installed, for less than $900.00. But the mirror needed aiming program . On utube shows a simple picture with 6 dots you use to program the mirror.I spoke with Lute Riley Service, explaining the situation, they said to do aiming program was $348. I said I m looking on utube & I just need to dots on paper for mirror to read & program. Patrick said there is more to it than that . Alex printed out dots!Lined up, Alex programmed it in less than 30 minutes FREE and did not take appointments or over $300.00!!!!!Thank yous to Rick s Auto, Garland TX.

What a great experience! They gave me a great quote for my wheel bearings replacement. In the process they noticed my brake pads and rotors also were in bad shape. They took pictures and email me a new reasonable quote. The work was completed the same day! I have been taking my vehicles to Rick's Auto Repair for 12 years. No matter the year, make or model, the repair will be done right. Rick's repairs what dealers and other shops can't find or won't repair. Looking for an honest mechanic, look no further. This place is straight up honest. These guys did more with my F-150 in 3 or 4 hours than other shops did in 3 or 4 trips! I'm so happy I was referred to Rick's Auto Service & I will never use anyone else on our Family's cars, thanks guys for all your hard work! My truck has not driven this good in years!!! Definitely a happy customer!!!!!

Alex was great, very honest, and gave me a deal. I had him check out a Prius that I wanted to buy, it looked perfect, everything I wanted. He put it up on the rack and emailed me all the pictures of rust and told me I shouldn't pay more than $2000 for the car. He was so friendly and knocked half the price off of the check up because I was a struggling college student. I had driven 2 hours to come buy the car, and I would have wasted $7000 if it wasn't for Alex. It was great to find an honest car mechanic so far from home.

I like this shop. You go all over town looking for a place that will have the integrity to not only complete the work but do it right the first time without eating you alive like the dealer does. Ricks is one of the good ones. Alex has been exceedingly straight forward and honest with me, showing me the obvious damage to any parts that need replacing and then giving a price for parts that (for what its worth) are about the same cost If I had purchased them myself. The price is fair for the work involved and though I have paid less elsewhere I haven't gone back to the other guys, so "fair" is more than just money (time in transit, wait time for the fix, questionable parts being used and fixing symptoms without solving the problem). Ricks is MY garage and I highly recommend them.

Family owned and operated. Alex is a good guy. He went out of his way to fix my truck in the right way. The labor prices are competitive and he does not over charge for parts like most places do. My truck is 15 years old and still love it. Without a good honest mechanic, I would probably just break down and buy a new vehicle so I can honestly say this place has saved me many thousands of dollars over the past couple of years.Once again I had a problem that could have been diagnosed for a lot more, but Alex figured it out and got it fixed for less than I thought. Not only great service, but a great attitude as well.

I apologize for being a little late on my reviews reduced Rick garage is run by a man named elder I've known him since his hair was black and now he has none hes known me when my hair was black and now it's Gray is do you know what Ritz garage under Elden leadership leadership has prospered permits he has a loyal clientele he tells you straight up what the problem is what he can do to fix it He will work with you whenever he can The only thing he does not do is transmission work but he does know people in the business that he can refer you to you're true and that's a good thing because a lot of people won't put themselves out that far to refer someone else So if you want your car fixed right they're definitely worth giving a strong look at. I was referred to Rick's by a friend of mine and I have had nothing but great experience with the owner Alex and his mechanic's! You want to know that the people you working on your car are competent but more importantly, honest! Rick's is interested in keeping customers for a lifetime instead of getting the most out or each transaction like other shops. I have referred many of my friends to RIck's and will continue to do so in the future.

Best shop around! I drive from Sherman to have my family s cars repaired and serviced here. They have worked on my Honda, Porsche, and Mini Cooper. Owner is awesome and the nicest guy you ll ever meet. Highly recommend for anyone anywhere near the DFW area.

I'm glad I found this place! Best customer service, fair price and great mechanics. They fixed my A/C and now is blowing ice cold. Also I had an accident on my pick up and they got in in perfect shape in less than a week. I'll be using their services for all my future car repairs needs, thanks Alex!

At Rick's Auto Service they take great pride in their work and are very skilled. Great service and mechanics. Wouldn't of gotten my dodge caravan ready for inspection without them!Prices are great also. Was surprised it didn't cost me a lot! I defiantly will go back there for any repairs I need!
