If you make the Mistake of doing business with these crooks you will get burned for $5K like myself and other reviewers. As the other reviewers said this is a ZERO star business. I took my tundra to these Skammers with 327K miles on it and over heating. Andrew lied about being able to locate a low mileage engine and convinced me to go the rebuild route. He said he had a 5VZ there they could build. They rebuilt my 5VZ-FE engine and at the 11K mark, a little over a year later I have a blown head gasket or cracked head. The 5VZ-FE has 4 cams so I m not sure how their rebuilt engine always seemed to struggle to breath and reduced horse power. It doesn t look like they even used OEM head gaskets and I know they didn t replaced the head bolts. These people are dishonest as the day is long, do not waste money here use JDM Alliance

DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!at first you will think that they are giving you a good price, but in the end you will lose your money and your time. They don't have any idea of how to repair a car. I assume sometimes they get lucky repairing a car, but most of the time they don't know what they are doing. They are just a group of monkeys pretending to be mechanics.I made a big mistake bringing my car to this place, I ended up paying about $2,500 and they didn't fix the problem. They were just changing parts that my truck didn't needed.Another mistake I made was not to read the reviews. Read all the reviews.

HORRIBLE. The car was taken in for a waterpump replacement (nothing else). Time frame given was wrong, broke the oil dipstick, check engine light is now on due to the timing belt not being placed back on correctly and the car is now starting to overheat again. Also they did not put the cover back on at the bottom to cover the engine mount etc. I've had alot of work done on this car so we knew exactly what the issue was but didn't want to do it ourselves (huge mistake). The manager yelled at me when I said I didn't want to take the car since it had new issues that weren't there before and they should fix what they messed up (I took pictures beforehand so I have proof) I was told I had an elementary mindset and no degree (completely wrong) I was trying to explain my concerns, not yelling or fighting because they had my car and I was getting it fixed. I was told to take my car and never come back there. He was yelling and cussing infront of my child who was there to pick the car up with me. The manager smokes where it comes into the waiting room and the mechanics do not seem to take him seriously. I would never recommend this place to anyone they do not do the work correctly or accept when they're at fault. (No responsibility)

These guys are always great they rebuilt my 86 1 ton 2 years ago and I could not be happier. I recently bought 1981 pickup and am going to have them rebuild that one as well. The owners even stayed after hours to receive my vehicle when I dropped it off. Great people and quality work.

I brought my 2002 highlander here after the engine blew pretty badly. He was able to fully repair it. I took it to my normal dealership afterwards to double check as I ve just had car problems lately and everything was perfect. Highly recommend.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

I would not take my car to these guys if you Want honest people.I took my truck in about 6 months ago to have my Toyota 22re engine rebuilt. After I picked it up it drove for about 5 minutes before it turned off. I was really stress since I was so mad that I had just spent 4k on a rebuild and I could even drive it home. The guy there told me what was wrong them I had to go to the auto store and fix it myself. I drove it for a few more days then I took it back because I heard some ticking they said it was just the valves needing to be wore in. After two week I took it back for them to adjust the valves and they say the engine had a bad camshaft so they took it in with the warrant and fixed the problem. But I talked to the mechanics there and they said that they had a whole different engine put in. Because the rebuild was done incorrectly. They had it for over 2 months and I was finally able to drive it again. The truck ran fine but after 3 months the timing chain blew and destroyed the whole engine. I couldn't taking it back since they only give a 6 month warrant which is outrages for a engine. From what I can see the employee get treated terribly. As soon as u bring a problem back for them to fix the owner yells and screams. PLEASE AVOID THIS GUY FOR ENGINE REBUILDS. From what I see from the reviews everything else they seem to do a good job but PLEASE AVOID THERE ENGINE REBUILD

Could have been my car but I sunk a LOT of money in a 2009 Mazda thinking a rebuilt engine might give us a few more years on the car but 75 days later, oil leaking all over, smoking like a crazy, we had to tow it back, and he says needs a new turbo not covered by warranty. Hard to imagine it wasn't leaking valves or something in the engine. I should have sold the car for parts 90 days ago but hindsight is 20/20. I liked the mechanic he seemed solid but the overall experience ended up being a huge waste of money.Services: Engine repair, Battery

My neighbor took his Honda Pilot that had engine troubles and was getting all kinds of bad advice from shops. We took the car here on referral and the owner listened to the engine run and said it needed timing chain and tensioner and it would cost $800. Picked it up a few days later and the car was running perfect and no problems since. These guus know Japanese cars!

Purchased an engine from this business for my 2008 Toyota Camry. Around the 400 mile break in mark, the engine block started leaking oil. This was a new rebuilt engine and they let me know the engine needed to come back out and replaced. The warranty doesn't cover any assistance to cover labor cost for my mechanic. We purchased a 1999 4x4 Tacoma with a defective 3.4 motor. I spoke with Alex and what a terrific person he is to work with. We agreed on a replacement 3.4 Japanese engine installed at a great price. We towed the Tacoma from Austin to Garland and the truck was ready 5 days later. We drove back to Garland and picked up the Tacoma and drove it back to Austin with no issues to report. The only recommendation he made when the engine was out was to replace the clutch. We agreed, and there is no labor charge since it's already apart and you only pay for the new parts. We have put 500+ miles on the truck and we have no complaints. We are very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to do it again if we ever needed to. Alex is a great person to work with and I wish him and his crew the best of luck!

When I picked up my vehicle, it was leaking antifreeze. They asked if I wanted it fixed I said yes and they did it quickly. They have a laundry list of items as to why they are not responsible if something fails. They had a few items on my list of suggestions to repair. One was an oil pressure sender. Upon returning home, I discovered that the oil pressure sender installed was for a light, not the gauge, as my truck has. The sender was also installed over torque. Hard to believe they did not know the difference or check, especially as they pointed out it was not working. Additionally, the alternator was not charging when I picked it up. It could be a fluke thing, but it was working when I dropped it off. They again noted that it was charging lower than it should. Given the issue with the oil pressure sender, it makes me wonder if received the alternator was the one I left it with. Additionally, the brake light is on perpetually. This was not the case when I dropped it off. I was told I could bring it back and they could look at it. I live 4 hours away, so this is not feasible and no restitution was offered to compensate for the time off work to make the trip no even to cover gas or towing expenses related to these items. As an aside, prior to selecting this shop, I asked if they would replace needed items while the engine was out for rebuild. They did call and stare that the clutch needed to be done, which I did, and that the radiator tested ok, but if I reused in and the engine failed as a result, it would not be covered under warranty. I again opted to have this done. However, they replaced no belts or hoses nor asked to replace them. I was a bit shocked to see these items reused as I have never had a shop reuse these parts when doing a rebuild.

These guys are awesome. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and thorough. I thought my truck would never run again after blowing my head gasket, hoses, and radiator. I'm so glad I found Alex and his crew at Japanese & European Motors. I was overwhelmed, looking for another engine for my Xterra but Alex took charge of everything for me, relieving the stress and taking action to help get my truck running again. Carlos and the other mechanics turned my heap of junk back into a clean running, powerful, reliable vehicle again. (It runs better than it did when I bought it 9 months ago- used). Alex kept me informed throughout the entire process, so there were no surprise charges when the truck was ready to be picked up. Great communication with their customers, reliable parts, honest advice, skilled service, and at reasonable prices... THANK YOU!!!

If I could rate zero I would. They are great until you have a problem. I recently bought an engine from them after install noticed it had a bad oil leak. Took it back to have them look at it and get the leak on the motor they built and sealed fixed. We were met with zero help understanding or compassion from them. They say it is a power steering leak although it has been leaking over Friday Saturday Sunday and an hour drive to them on Monday with no level change on the power steering but I have to add a half a quart to a quart of oil to it daily. Mind you the vehicle is driven about 5 miles round trip. Still I am told it is not an oil leak and not their problem if you value your time and money I would not use them. They called the police and had us escorted off the premises.prior to that stated if was an oil leak it was due to the pcv valve that came on the motor but they refused to replace the $3 part stating that the manifold had to be removed. The pcv is on the valve cover and the hose from it mounts to the top of the intake. A minor problem that could have been solved easily it really was the case. Not at all a happy customer.

Great experience. NOT (KEEP READING-Updated review)Everyone was friendly, helpful, and great. I was given all the information I could possibly need and in writing. In a stressful time of having to do major repairs on my car, they took the stress out. They unloaded my old one, reloaded the new and even.Edit: if I could give them zero Stars then I would. I initially thought this was a fantastic experience the mechanics were very nice and helped me unload and load the engine however 6 weeks later when I have an issue with a part on the engine they sold me they have given my husband the runaround I'm three different phone calls so I take a day off I drive up there they yell at me and call the cops on me because they refuse to fix the part that was wrong with the engine they sold me stay as far away from this place as you absolutely can the owner was rude he was hateful he told me I did not know what I was talking about and to have my husband call him he hung up on my husband three times I meant told me to leaveEdit 2: it's now costing me over 1000 to fix what needs to be fixed that this company will not.Buyer beware and stay clear.

If you want a good honest group working hard to give you a good deal, check these guys out. They will do their best to take care of you. I have a 98 Toyota with 355k miles on it. Engine blew, and I knew it. I called a few different places, and these guys were hands down the best deal. Be patient and you will not regret it. They gave me a good used engine for an honest price. If anything goes horribly wrong, I'll be back to amend my post. If you don't see an update from me, the 5 star still stands. I plan on getting 355k out of the used engine now. Cheers to this hidden gem. Good luck guys.

If you need a new engine for your car this is the place to go. Unfortunately they are severely swamped so it can take a while to get your car engine replaced.

They did a full engine replacement on my 2002 Honda civic for much less then anyone and we had been very happy with the great work. We recently had a problem that several other mechanics couldn't find. Japanese Engines identified the worn Transmission motor mount and fixed it very quickly. My Honda runs and drives super smoothly now.

Ordered an engine from them with an ETA delivery of 4 days. Got delivered in 10 days, and kept the shop I was getting the engine installed at from continuing business because their shop only has one lift which my car was now occupying. Bad business practices, if there was any other JDM spot in Dallas that has your engine, I highly recommend going to them instead.

I have had 8 vehicle engines installed here with only 2 issues which although an annoyance, they were simple mistakes and issues were repaired. Great pricing on the used imported as well as the reman engines. They will continue to be my go to installer.

I recently was in the market for a JDM-focused garage and luckily, I was referred to this spot. Great workmanship and communication. The engine has gone into the car seamlessly and my ride has a new lease on life. Many thanks to Japanese Engines and Andrew. God bless.

Sometimes there are repairs that I won't do. This one was replacing the starter motor on a lexus ls400 which has the starter on top of the engine and is a real pain in the rump to deal with. The work was done at a very good price and the car runs very well. Pleasant and polite, with excellent communication, and a job done right. So if the mechanically inclined uses them, you know they have to be good.

DONT TAKE YOUR DSM HERE.Im not sure how the mechanics do with the other cars take at your own risk.Alex was a really nice person.I took my eclipse turbo get an engine rebuild had bad piston rings overall wasted $1400.And before installation I took it to my brother in law he messes with 4g63 motors a lot he found multiple mistakes like plates missing from pulley, bolts missing no silicone so all the oil would of been thrown out as soon as was cranked. Then we installed it everything checked out to be good just a weird noise in the motor thought just needed to be broken in. after a thousand miles or so I took off the timing belt cover and saw a piece of metal and saw my timing belt was being scratched. So now I can't drive it before I have to rebuild my engine again...I took it back get it checked out.And they tried charging me for a mistake they did.Motor lasted me about 2k milesWould not recommend 4g63 or any DSM motors here. Maybe other motors take it find outheadgasket blew on me couple months ago either they didn't torque it down properly or who ever did the head didn't do it right

My mother came here to have my engine replaced, and I have had no problems yet! I've driven almost 2k miles since and no problems regarding the engine so far. I appreciate the hard work these guys put into my car and am so thankful to have gone this long without my car breaking down leaving me in tears all over again.

Need a repair? Go here. I've been taking my car here for a while and I've never met such nicer, honest people working at a repair shop. Great prices, good people who do honest work. I will be coming here and recommending all my friends and family.

Excellent work and customer service. I went here to have my daughters engine replaced. I was nervous because I couldn't financially afford any mistakes or sub-par work. The friendly guy at the counter not only gave me a tour of their facility but also quite a, brief but detailed and interesting, history on Japan..

This review is long overdue. First let me start by saying that Alex is first class. Lets not forget the crew to. Thank you to everyone there. I got recommended to them by my wife's cousin. Our Accord needed a transmission. I ordered a used one from a family friend that works at LKQ in Hutchins, Tx. Alex and the guys there installed the transmission and some extra parts I needed and got my wife back on the road. I did everything over the phone. I need to get down there so I can meet the guys that took care of us. Thank's again for the excellent service.

Great, stand behind their work. Restored my old MR2 and got it driving almost like new. Even charged my AC on a hot day for free so i won't have to drive it home in the heat with no AC. Great to do business with....
