Went and got my first tattoo with Red. Made the appointment about a week prior and told him what I was looking for and told him to make it his. Absolutely loved it, didn't hurt at all, Red had a light hand. Got nervous because some of the locals in the area said the shop had a bad reputation, but price for piece, and art done, Absolutely amazing and I'm glad I can prove them wrong!

I went down to Galveston for the weekend with some friends and my boyfriend just to enjoy the beach and we decided to get some tattoos this was my first time ever getting a tattoo and it was such a fun experience got to ring what they call the Virgin bell lol my tattoo came out amazing just the way I want it. I would definitely come back again ! ask for John boy you won t regret it !

Went down to Galveston for a beach day with family who came to visit. We decided to get tattoos and ended up at American Dragon. It was the end to a wonderful day on the island! Beautiful line work and friendly service all around. Would definitely return if I m back down there! Ask for John Boy!

So this place is definitely for the person on spring break or just on vacation and drunk. There are no actual tattoo artists here, it s just the guys that aspire to be one. These guys will definitely give you your first regrettable tattoo. The art lessons they have learned have came from a color book and learning how to stay in the lines.

The ID stealing employees with ego fragile as a glass bong, the bong they were using to make these tattoos.The prices so high with such underwhelming work. The overrated shop with egotistical employees with a sketching skill of a 8 year old.

My name is katie, I went with 2 of my best friends, and I honestly enjoyed the over yall experience (even though I was nervous and it was mine and their first tattoo) john was patient and kind with us. My whole experience here has been amazing!! Hollywood was extremely helpful and was honest about what we wanted and how it would look. Red did our tattoos and was super friendly and professional the whole time!! Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for their next amazing tattoo! You guys ROCK!

From 1/2/19I went to John Boy to get my first tattoo and he did an AMAZING job!!! He took his time and made sure I was 100% happy with the size and placement before he did anything. There was no feeling that he was rushing to get me in and out, he really wanted to make sure I enjoyed the entire process. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for their next tattoo!!!Updated 2/20/19So I just got my second tattoo from John Boy and it was just as an AMAZING experience this time as last time. The line work is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I can't wait for more!!Just got my fourth tattoo and just as happy with this one as my first. John boy always does great work and I am very pleased with the end result!!!

Man this is the most awesome tattoo place as soon as you walk in they greet you with a warm and funny hello. Jokesters. Makes for a fun tattooing. John boy did my work. He's great. Pulled up an hour before they were closed and the doors were locked with Sorry, We re closed on the door. Very disappointing as we are here for my fianc� s 21st bday and we are leaving the next day. Thank you for the memory.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Before walking in the door, I had several ideas of what I wanted but wasn t exactly sure how to make it work. Red helped make my ideas come to life. It turned out f-ing awesome!! I would highly recommend this shop and Red to anyone.Can t wait to get my next piece done!While in the shop getting tattooed, I had a blast BSing with all the guys, they had be laughing my A off the whole day

I visited this shop back in Januray and somehow forgot to leave a review?!? I first got my septum pierced by Hollywood and I loved it so much I had to come back for a tattoo! John boy was amazing. He was very nice to both my mom and I. He even used his tattoo gun to play the "Happy Birthday" song to me. Great place to go. Can't wait to visit again.Service: Nose piercing

never go here when they have a flash sale. we waited for 3 hours to get a tattoo the size of a quarter. when we get there they tell us we can wait outside, so we did. people came in after us, and after about 2 hours we looked inside and people that came in after us were getting tattood. then we went back inside asking for our money back and he said we cant get it back and that we have to get tattood. then he told us we cant get our money back because our money was locked in a box and that he didnt have the key so i threatened to call the cops and all of the sudden he had the key and i got my money back.Services: Piercings, Tattoos

I had an awesome experience here. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone. All of the artists/staff were friendly, the shop was clean and compliant with all the Covid requirements, and overall it just had a good vibe. I had scheduled an appointment with John Boy and he was ready on time. He was able to take the mermaid image I had in mind and make it unique to me. I love the art work he did and look forward to going back for John to add some water detail to her.

Walked in after a dream from last night, and John Boy made it come a reality! We only waited 30min. And then he drew up what our thoughts, with the help of a photo, with adding his touch, and 2 tattoos later, my wife and I walked out with a memorable event in our lives. Thanks so much! If ever in area again, will be back!

I got my first tattoo by John Boy on Sunday. He did amazing. I was really nervous and he was really calm and made the experience awesome. The other people there were amazing as well. The tattooist knows his stuff and is really good at what he does, as does his hard rocking piercer. You have to have a certain kind of taste to enjoy the tattooist s mannerisms and first impression, but he s a cool guy that knows his worth. The piercer was a fun, goofy guy that is patient and simply fun all around.My tattoo came out amazingly to my liking with dark coloring and a solid outline, he had a heavy hand but there is no scaring and he let me know what touch ups he was doing after it was finished , just to make sure it came out solid and clean.The piercer did my eyebrow piercing and we were have conversations, he even put on the tv next to me for extra comfort.Both guys prepared themselves before taking me in, opening new needles, getting gloves, preparing colors, the usual stuff so that it s as quick of a session as possible while taking the time to do it right.For newcomers to this place:THEY ID, ONLY TAKE CASH AND DON T DO NECK TATTOOS.The tattoo on my forearm was about half my forearm, in complete color, was not too complicated (it was a piranha plant from the super Mario series) and it costed me $200 flat for itThe eyebrow piercing (he gave me an option a spike or a ball piercing) was a solid $60A bit pricey, but it was worth knowing my tattoo and piercing came out RIGHT. They give you a rundown of how to take care of your piercing/tattoo after the session and hand you a business card with their name and social media on it.Overall, this was a fun experience with some pretty rad dudes that know what they re doing, I d honestly go back again for another tattoo if I get a chance.Services: Color ink tattoos, Eyebrow piercing, Piercings, Tattoos

Idk why it took my so long to write a review lol but the environment is amazing here they re funny and there s a lot to look at while you wait for your tattoo/ piercing! The process is also quite simple and quick!! I was pierced by Hollywood he s amazing at his job one of the best piercers I ve meet. I got my tongue pierced and was in and out maybe 15-20 minutes including jewelry, paperwork and the actual piercing. 10/10 would definitely recommendService: Piercings

Was on a family vacation and we all went to get tattoos. I asked for a tattoo that was small smaller than anyone else wanted. Everyone else s was $80 for a small snake. I asked for one word of my arm which he tried charging me $200 didn t explain why barely even talked to me. Was only focused on the women. Someone else was also with us and got a full tattoo/cover up which he charged $250. Not sure how that adds up. Check with the woman who does my tattoos said that over charge because of my gender. Problem needs fixed. Losing business this way. Also made very inappropriate comments towards my female friend. Highly do not recommend this place when visiting Galveston.

I was with a group of 6 on vacation, and they were able to fit us all in to get tattoos. John Boy did amazing with all of ours and was very kind. Definitely recommend using him for your tattoo needs!Service: TattoosService: Tattoos

My fiance and I were in a couple weeks ago on vacation. We did matching tattoos with different phrases. It was my boyfriends first tattoo. It was done by John Boy and turned out perfect. Mine is my 9th and I can finally say I had one done at American Dragon by Odie. I am so happy with it. It will not be my last one done there. Love the tats & the guys that work there made the experience one of the best one's I've had. See you again soon!

Paid 150.00$ for this little trident banger on wrist... lines are off as you can see and tattoo is non symmetrical line work is trash...artist is arrogant and rude I went in to ask about getting it fixed. They refused. I would NOT recommend this shop 10-10Service: TattoosService: Tattoos

Had an amazing time here! My girlfriend and I came in to get some tattoos and Red made sure we were taken care of. Great pricing and the tattoos turned out amazing! Loved this place and will be coming back next year!!

Phenomenal work. Never have received such great treatment in an establishment, bandaged a hurt foot, ride back to the chair so I didn t have to walk. And left with amazing minimalist line work on my finger. Next time I m in town, this Colorado girl is coming back for more.
