I brought my car here after another mechanic quoted $1,800 for a repair. Andy at Charter Automotive was able to diagnose and repair the problem in a matter of a couple hours for under $500. Amazing service and honest work!!

Best mechanic around, hands down! Andy has now repaired 2 issues with my older Dodge Ram that no one else could ever figure out, plus numerous other issues. I have taken my truck to 8 other mechanics (some in Fredericksburg) for the same issues, and Andy's the ONLY one who took the time to actually figure out what was going on and get it fixed. Plus, he's very considerate of my time and situation. My wife and I share 1 vehicle, so I can't leave my vehicle with a mechanic for days. Andy always makes sure the work is done same day and will even give me a ride home or to work. I'm telling you, this guy is very classy. Old school. Does what he says he will and does it very well. Oh, and the best part.... doesn't charge ridiculous amounts for the work he does. He's extremely fairly priced. Usually comes in lower than the original quote. And he spends the time to talk with me about what's going on and has even recommended a few things I can try on my own before taking my truck in for service. I only met him a couple months ago, but he has quickly become one of my favorite people ever. And David has always been very kind and fun to chat with while I'm waiting, offering a ride if I need one. They make you feel very welcome. THANK YOU Andy and David! I am new to the Fredericksburg area and when my serpentine belt broke I was stranded on US87 and needing assistance. I was given Charter Automotives name at about 4:15pm and Andy was fantastic and gave me Tic Toc Towing to get my truck to Charter, Andy said he would wait for my truck to arrive. By the time I left at about 5:20pm Andy had already ordered my new water pump and serpentine belt to be delivered in the morning. By 10:15am the next morning I received a phone call that my truck was ready to go! Andy was extremely respectful and knowledgeable about my friends Subaru. She had gotten an oil change and a back break pads replaced back in the Houston area before driving to Fredericksburg to visit me. As we drove her car around Fredericksburg we began hearing sound from the back drivers side wheel area. I was lucky enough to have a friend (Skip) refer my to drive immediately to see Andy @ Charter Automotive. We did as suggested and once Andy saw the problem, he said get out, you can't drive this car like this. The drivers side back wheel brake caliper was just hanging there with no bolt attached. He was crazy busy at the time, but pulled the car out he was working on in his shop and pulled hers into the shop and was able to make our car safe to drive. We are so grateful for his concern for our safety above all else. He is a very honest auto mechanic, which is very rare these days. Go see him for auto mechanic work!Maggie and Brenda

We just moved to Fredericksburg and are blessed to find Charter Automotive. We ve taken multiple vehicles to them. Andy has always had the work done when he says he will. Fair pricing and honest work done. Definitely worth giving these guys your business!

I've had two of my auto's recently serviced by Andy and hands down this is the best place in Fredericksburg to have your car serviced. We own numerous cars for our business and use Charter for all of the repairs, tune ups, etc.. Andy is always right on top of things and gives you honest results. Our car broke down NYE in Fredericksburg, we live in Houston. Charter was recommended by the tow truck driver. Andy the owner willingly came in New Years Day to look at and repair our car. And the price was more than fair. Thank you Andy, your kindness will never be forgotten.

Charter is the place to go for car repairs in Fredericksburg. I've been in four times and every visit gets a solid 5 stars. Attitude is superb and they seem to really know their stuff.

Andy South worked for me at Summit Automotive, Inc. in San Antonio for almost six and a half years before going out on his own to open Charter Automotive in Fredericksburg. He is one of many outstanding Technicians that work for me. I am certain that he will be a great asset to Fredericksburg and continue to flourish in this new chapter of his life. I'm pleased to say, that they did an excellent work on my 2005 volvo t5 control arms, they were done the same day. I've was also told that my heater core was going out. I have a few cars to get work done like my 05 cadillac and 93' honda. I highly recommend and appreciate the work they did. God bless.
