We had car troubles on the way to Big Bend NP. They stayed open late on a Saturday night to fix our car. I was expecting a huge bill with out of state plates. Only $69. I hope your mechanic enjoyed the six pack of beer I dropped off on the way back from big Bend as a thank you. Gary W. Seattle, WA

As an out of town customer, I felt very comfortable and was well taken care of. He made sure all was well with my truck and he didn't charge much. My labor rates back home would've been higher than the bill he gave me. I never plan on my truck breaking down, but I'm extremely grateful it chose Ft Stockton to break down, and I found Fernandez auto repair shop. Extremely reasonable rates, I didn't have an appointment, but he took care of me right away. Thank you so very much, Fernandez!

Great quick competent service, what a lifesaver! They were the only shop in town to carry the tire size for my small car, answered the phone promptly and got me back on the road within the hour! Can't say thank you enough, and highly recommend to anyone meeting a road mishap.

DO NOT GO THERE OR THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AN ARM AND A LEG ! Stressful experience! My husband vehicle broke down while working over there , got it towed to Fernandez shop. They were so hard to get in touch with and when we finally were able to talk to them someone different will answer the phone and have a different story -about what was wrong with the car . Finally they fixed it without letting us know what they did to it , they only said total with parts was $900. Confused why it was so much , I called to get invoice sent to me since my husband was at work and I live 8hours away, lady who answered the phone sounded irritated because I was asking a breakdown of what was done to the car . Finally she sent me invoice .LABOR WAS $150 AN HOUR (3x) outrageous ( for fixing a starring wheel ) contacted my local mechanic and dealer where we normally take our vehicles and even they said that was outrages . My husband spoke to the owner and asked to lowers down the labor which she refused. I definitely know we got ripped off . They took advantage of my husband being so far away from home . Horrible place and staff . Do not recommendService: General repairs & maintenance

Fernandez and team should be accredited for their work. They were very accommodating to helping us out on our journey. Brought us in right away to fix the air conditioning for our GMC pick up. They were very knowledgeable, and Gus was awesome!

I had planned to stay one night in Fort Stockton on my way East when I had a collision with a coyote about 30 miles outside of town. I was able to drive it into town, but was not clear what damage was done to the car, beyond the airbag deploying and my seatbelt locking so I was not able to re-fasten it. Fernandez happened to be 2 blocks from my hotel and they were highly rated on google, so I drove it over the next morning. Turned out the radiator and the AC condenser were both damaged and needed replacing as well as recharging the system, plus we needed to order a new seat belt and replace that. I needed to have the car in good working condition since I am on a long trip around the US that was going to last 2 months. With a rush order on the seat belt, they got my car back on the road in 2 days including going above and beyond cutting out the airbag and apoxying my front bumper where it was damaged so I could continue my trip with my car in reasonably good driving condition until I could get home to do the rest of the repairs. They were incredibly accommodating to get me back on the road that quickly with that level of damage, and I was amazed at how they were able to source the parts for much less than the dealer prices listed. 5 stars for these folks I can t recommend them more highly!

We called Fernandez Auto late in the afternoon when we knew we would be stopping for the night in Fort Stockton to see if they could fit us in for some service on a 32' C-class RV since our Check Engine Light had been on for a few days of our cross country trip. Even though we would not be arriving until 30 minutes before they closed, they happily accommodated our last minute request. They performed quality services at a fair price and did a thorough check of our rig to make sure we were good to carry on with our trip the next morning.Outstanding small business in a small town. Very kind and friendly family. I highly recommend supporting this business if you habe the opportunity.

We are very thankful for Fernandez Auto Repair! Our van broke down and he was one of the closest repair shops. Even with a full schedule and going into the weekend, he went above and beyond to assist us in our difficult situation. We are now back on the road and could not have done it without his help. We would recommend their services!Service: Engine repair

They mechanics were incredibly helpful! I was on a road trip from Florida to California and my transmission started to fail. They were able to take a look at my car within 15 minutes of me arriving and had it diagnosed and ready to go within 30 minutes. They made sure I completely understood what was wrong and what I needed to do to get myself to California and where to take my car once I arrived. It was life saving, fast, and very cheap!

We were driving our RV west through Texas headed to Zion when our AC compressor failed and started making grinding bearing noises. We made it to Ft Stockton On Saturday, Memorial weekend at 2pm. We found Gus and Fernandez Auto Repair luckily. He agreed to stay and try to get us back on the road. HE repaired our AC compressor for a very reasonable price, staying until 10pm in order to do it. WE would definitely recommend him to anyone. Without his help we would have been stuck there for several days. He could have easily taken advantage of us in our situation, but he didn't. He went above and beyond expectations. While we were waiting several more travelers in need showed up and he helped them all. He and his workers were very efficient.

I wish they had turned me away. Instead they accepted my business and treated me miserabley. It was the worst 27 days of my life. I never received an estimate. Eighteen days later I finally got a verbal approximation of what the invoice would be. They never returned my calls or texts and when I finally spoke to someone I was bounced back and forth between other people and given different information. I was consistedly blown off. I became afraid to ask about my own vehicle.26 days later they claimed my vehicle is ready. Gus and I took it for a test drive. There was knocking noist under the hood,. the van over heated with the antifreeze poured out. Gus said something in the road may have jumped up and damaged the radiator. Gus said he would replace the radiator with a used one for free but the next day Gus was absent and the other members of the family told me it was an additional $125 and additional $25 if I demanded a receipt for the "new" radiator.I had not even asked about the receipt for the radiator. Total bill was $3,700. I only have a thirty day warranty but it doesn't matter. I'm never going back to that place.Service: Engine repair

Great mechanic and business ethic. We broke down in Fort Stockton, were told by dealerships and other mechanics the wait was 2 weeks and that we should rent a U-Haul and tow our car to Houston. Fernandez Auto Repair said on the phone he would look at our car even though he was busy with other vehicles. He was able to assess the problem, fix it and have us on our way in about an hour. Wonderful service and knowledge. An honest and reasonable business that went beyond the call of duty for strangers. Family business that was very friendly and willing to go the extra mile so we could go the next 500+ miles. Thank you so much we are very grateful for your time and help and knowledge.

We hit a deer on our way to Texas to visit family. Got our car towed here & although they had to order parts, they were friendly and had us back on the road very quickly. The hotel is right in front of the shop if you need to stay.

Awesome. Cheap reliable and very knowledgable. Was driving from San Antonio and needed my tires changed, took their time making sure my vehichle was safe to drive. Helped put on other parts in my car. They know what their doing, went to Bills and they try to over price you. But this family owned shop knows everything about a vehicle. They are even open on Saturdays as well. I feel very confident in driving my vehicle. Overall i give them 10 starsFriendly and know what they are doing

May God keep blessing this family owned business especially, the mister and his daughter. Few years ago the starter on my car went out while I was in Ft Stockton, 8 hours away from home on a trip. It was Saturday night and mechanic shops there were already closed and none opened on Sundays. Well God heard my desperate plea and sent me these wonderful angels, that's literally what it felt like. The owner helped me out and replaced my starter on Sunday morning. I didn't have enough money for the service so his daughter was kind enough to take me to that little market store and get some money I had wired to me. I could tell the daughter probably out late Saturday night, I could see she was sleepy. None the less she was still very nice to me. While doing so the owner got my car fixed and I was able to be on my way. They have no idea how incredibly grateful I still am for there generosity.

Came in with an oil leak; I already knew it was something with the oil filter. I go in they confirm it and replace it and add oil. So for those of you who may not know that is literally an oil change like the only thing missing is them draining my oil but that s because it had already leaked out. Point is an oil change is around $60 how ever they ended up charging me $124... I had asked for price before letting them work on it and the older man said it ll depend and I didn t mind because I thought it d be around $60-$80 but I regret not pushing for a price in hindsight. The work is super easy to do u literally twist off the oil filter about 10 minutes over all to complete job. Definitely overpriced probably because there s not many places around. Would recommend trying a different place or confirming a price before the work starts.Service: Oil change

We were on the way to Alpine when we noticed a kinda screeching sound. Fearing the worst (and being far from home) we googled mechanics in Fort Stockton. We went to the guys at Fernandez and they took a look within about 15 minutes of arriving, ordered the part, and installed it. I didn't catch his name, but I think he may have been the owner. Nice guy, quick work, and a fair price. Thanks guys!!

Referred by Isaiah at the UHaul down the street in Ft Stockton. Driving from Phx to Florida transmission started having problems. We found that it was an easy fix with a wire that rubbed on the driveshaft. Had it fixed pretty quick. Good family run Homest business man.Service: Transmission repairService: Transmission repair

Phenomenal Customer Service. I work for a campervan rental agency and one of our renters had broken down in Fort Stockton. They were passing by and on a tight schedule, headed towards San Antonio. Fernandez Auto Shop were at least 3weeks behind schedule, but placed our renters as priority and had their van ready to go in just a few hrs. What Life savers they were. I highly recommend them!

Mr. Frenandez was the hardest working, most considerate young man I've ever met. I had a blowout on I-10 about 10 miles out of Ft. Stockton. When I got towed into his show, he stayed open to put a new tire on my Honda. His doggie Tiga was very friendly and sweet too. I highly reccomend this shop. Hope he got to rest on Sunday.

Driving back from Austin, TX to Tucson, AZ, the alternator went bad on my 2009 Corolla, about 60 miles east of Fort Stockton. I had the car towed to Fort Stockton and spent the night. On Monday morning, after I charged my battery so I can at least drive it to the shop, I asked around and Autozone recommended I'd use Fernandez Auto Repair. I got there around 9am when they opened, and right away they took care of me. The got the part, and installed it and I was on the road less than 90 minutes later. The price was very reasonable, and I haven't had any issues with the car or alternator since. I really don't know of many car places that would help you quickly when you're in a bind, and treat you that well. Thank Fernandez Auto Repair!
