Absolutely, 100% recommend this place! Mr. Wesley is a super great guy! He is very honest and knows what he is talking about! Within seconds of driving my truck he was able to tell exactly what was wrong with it. (Wheel bearing) he was able to get me in the next day( today)! By the time I went back up there to drop the truck off yesterday he already had the part ready to go! Hopefully I won't need to back for a while, but if I do, I'm coming back to Carter's ONLY!

Wesley Carter and his staff are great people to deal with. Very informative and straight forward with your vehicle needs. Very reasonably priced. I and my family are Definitely going back to his shop.

I am so happy that I found this place today. He is such a honest and genuine mechanic. Fixed my car in a few minutes. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in and near Forney.

Really pleased with Carter Automotive of Forney! Our check engine light came on, we brought the car in to get checked, the owner took the extra time to explain what everything meant and gave great recommendations. Didn t try to up sell us, just did some quick troubleshooting. He did it all free of charge. Great business and customer service. We will be back in the future for sure!!!!

I noticed my car started to make weird sound after hitting hard on flooded water. And it make me scared to drive on a highway because of the sound. I ve been contemplating on bringing my car in a dealership but I m glad I ve listened to my co-worker who also live in Forney. She highly recommend this place.Kudos to Carter Automotive for being so straight forward, reliable, fair and honest in dealing with customer. They helped me to save $400! I thought that I needed new brakes and rotors along with a new part that I knew I needed. They informed me that my brakes and rotors were fine and just rotated my rotors and cleaned my brakes. If you re looking for honest and quality repairs, then this is the place. Expect to have to wait a bit longer than usual to have any repairs done but that s just a testament to how busy they are due to so many people trusting to bring their cars in here.

Wesley has helped me out too many times to count. You want an honest guy who does good work and cares for the neighborhood then you found your spot. Some repairs may take a little longer than expected but once you drive out of his shop its fixed, you ain't gonna be bringing your vehicle back with the same problem for sure. Highly recommend this place!

I'm new to the Forney area and my Alternator & Battery died on me after work yesterday.I took my car into the shop and let them know what was going, the receptionist was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to get a quote in less than 5 minutes.I arrived at the shop at 3PM and they were able to squeeze me in and fix my car before they closed for the day.Overall, I received outstanding customer service and the price of repair was extremely fair.

I have been using Carter's for years for my car and my kids' vehicles. They always do a great job of diagnosing the issues, explaining what is needed; what the cost will be, etc. I always appreciate the honesty and I have always felt his prices are fair. We don't even live in Forney, yet we take our cars to him! It's nice knowing you have a mechanic you can trust.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This place was recommended to me by my boss and I have to say I have never met a better, more honest group of skilled mechanics ever! I brought my car in for a few things needed and when I picked the car up they didn't do one of the services because the owner was so honest he said " Sir, I would just be taking your money, your car doesn't need this performed at this time." Talk about integrity! Great prices and even better service. I will be using this shop for as long as I live in the area. Couldn't recommend them more!!

I was surprised to witness such a poor customer service experience at this repair shop after having heard such great recommendations. The issue seemed to sprout from the owner having to invest in an unexpected replacement for his smoke detector machine that was needed for our diagnostic. (He did not hesitate to share that he had to spend upwards of $3,000 to replace some device that would enable him to run the smoke test he decided we needed) and took his frustrations out on us for having to do so. He further took it upon himself to let us know that he would not have updated the machinery his shop would have otherwise needed anyways if he knew we were not committed to repairing absolutely every issue with our vehicle right then or soon, which is absolutely silly. Customers are not responsible for keeping your equipment up to date and available when needed nor are they obligated to perform the fixes your recommended, ESPECIALLY with the amount of repair shops charging way too much for services.. A sensible owner would recognize the unexpected expense and properly turn down the customer and allow us to go go a shop with properly working equipment. Instead, he carried on his expectations that his investment would be worth it, as he already had it set in his mind that he would be charging us for 4 different repairs we hadnt even agreed to at that point. Where we appreciate that he kept the interaction semi-professional, it was obvious both he and the blonde lady no longer cared for our presence. We simply did not have the time nor did it make sense to spend $1500 in services for an old car that tends to just sit around. We happily paid for all the services completed, but because it was not a big enough of a profit ideal for the owner, we became an issue. I'll agree, $80 profit for two weeks of a car sitting on your lot for services that could've been completed within one day due to yoh needing to service other vehicles,and having to spend $3000 to repair the shop's equipment that our vehicle had nothing to do with, IS A LOT OF STRESS.. But it gives this shop no right to become hasty and annoyed with us because we don't want to fix things that are miniscule and don't interfere with vehicle operation.The mood and accommodating service quickly turned DRASTICALLY south. Because the owner EXPECTED to make a certain profit, and apparently runs his store under the assumption that all customers MUST take the recommended services, he allowed himself to become upset and turn his entire crew against us. They all shared an "evil eye".It was obvious that the entire store knew of our situation and simply hearing "that seems expensive" from a black person's mouth means that we're there to waste his time and play around with his services. I think the prices were affordable, just not ideal for us at the time. We came for a service, opted to only pay for what was necessary for our current situation, and was met with retaliation from an entire crew of repairmen and office ladies just because we chose to wait. Not a way to run a business just because you didn't make the money you planned to out of us. Think twice about visiting this shop if you are not absolutely ready to pay for every single thing that is recommended at the time it is told to you. This company's motto must be something along the lines of: Money first, quality customer service later and ONLY if a profit was made involving no unexpected expenses.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Very poor communication. I had my car fixed back in September and it took a whole week. They did not call me or keep me updated. My car was towed on a Thursday evening. They told me they would call on Friday. I called them several times on Friday afternoon and no one answered, so they had my car over the weekend and didn t even communicate with me. It was more of the same for the following week until I got my car back the following Friday. I m very disappointed, and would not recommend this shop.Service: Brakes

I have been trying to get my car in to this shop for a while. Every time I call no one answers and whenever some lady answers I can never speak to a mechanic. I have left several messages, I have also tried to get a quote but for some odd reason they can never do That!! I spoke to Wes once over the phone and he provided poor customer service. He wasn't paying any attention to me at all because he was talking to someone on the background and too busy chomping on food in my ear. The only reason I was trying this place is because my friend highly recommended them, but maybe in will take my business elsewhere..poor service before they even get started

I cannot recommend their honesty and quality of work enough. I brought my truck here because the check engine light was on and the guy at Auto Zone said it would probably be around a $400 repair. When I got to Carter, they popped the hood and found out the seal on the vacuum hose to the engine had come off, which cost about $5 to replace. They won my trust and I now go here for all maintenance, oil changes, repairs, etc.

Great guys doing really good work for fair prices. What more can you ask?I took my Toyota to them for an AC repair. I pretty much knew what was going to be wrong with it. They tested it and confirmed my amateur diagnosis. Repair price was about 70% of what I was expecting.They got the repair completed when promised. Friendly staff as well.

It's been said that a mechanic will take advantage of a woman alone. At Carter Automotive, it is run by family and if they treat every customer the same way I was treated...that explains why they are always packed!There was a real possibility to be out $300 or so. Walked over to pay and get my car and was flabbergasted and thankful for a total due of $30. He could have lied and made $270 on a 5 min job.Just dropped it off today for some other work I need. I trust that they will get me back on the road and still have money for the gas!

I have taken all of my vehicles here for several years now. Wes and his employees are honest and nice. I have always felt comfortable in knowing that I can go here and not have to worry about getting ripped off.

The total for my truck repair was $250 LESS THAN the initial estimate. Thank you, Wes, for your honesty, and for your knowledge and the explanation of the work that was done. My truck is back to its new condition. I'm glad I found a local mechanic I can trust for all my future mechanical needs!

This post is WAY overdue!! Back in February I was leaving Lowe's in Forney...when I tried to raise my driver's window on my 2010 VW Routan minivan, it went up a few inches and then ground to a halt. I tried to ease it up by feathering the electric control, but the window went up a few inches and then fell completely into the door. A friend had recommended Wes and the guys at Carter Automotive so I stopped by. Wes knew what the issue was without even having to look at the door, and promptly got on the phone to try and find someplace that the parts needed. Now, mind you, this was around 2pm on a Friday afternoon...I had already made plans the week before for a date night with the wife and I was supposed to pick her up in downtown Dallas where she works at 4pm. Wes told me to leave it with him, he'd get it fixed and I could pick it up that night after hours and to just come by first thing Monday morning to settle up the bill because until he got into he couldn't tell me exactly how much it was going to be. How many places would do that? Especially for a first time customer that he didn't know from Adam!! He gave me a reasonable estimate Friday afternoon and when I came in Monday to pay the bill, it was only $4.00 off of the original estimate. I can't say enough good things about this place...I highly recommend them!

So far I can't say I can complain about anything. Normally I would go to Dallas to get my stuff done but since moving out here I have gone to them for my rack and pinion, alignments and state inspections.

I have never even been to this place but they are my HERO's!! I was headed to Irving from 200 miles away and ran out of gas. I asked Siri for the closest tire location, I called and got a friendly voice at Carter Automotive!! I asked if they had roadside assistance, she said no and that the mechanics haven't even made it in yet. She asked me to hold, when she returned she asked for my location and told me her boss was on the way! OMG! I swear the nicest man was there within 20 minutes with 5 gallons of gas! His name was Wesley and was the sweetest, nicest man ever! He filled my tank and made sure my truck would crank. I tried my very best to pay him but he would not take my money! Thank you so much for Wesley and Carter Automotive, you saved my life. I was so scared being the little country girl in a big city! You will have diamonds in your crowns!!

Never been to Forney but had a breakdown here on a road trip (CO to FL) last summer. These guys dropped everything to get us back on the road and even let me borrow one of their vehicles to go pick up a tire. Really could not ask for better service.

I have been a mechanic for 25 years . I work all over the country. When I am not available to do repair work at home I refer everyone to Carter . He is honest and does extremely good work . Folks let me tell you he is the guy to go to on Forney . A lot of folks in the business get a bad rap . He is the best and never upsells .
