They told me 2 weeks to look at it vehicle. I called on week 2 and they said next week. It turned into a 7-8 week wait and when I went in to pick it up because I was tired run around. They had not even looked at it to see what's wrong.I was without my car for two months for no reason. I could have taken it somewhere else had they been honest or freaking sold it or something. It impacted my life heavily, it was my work truck. Long story long they wasted a lot of my time and it screwed with my work big time. Johnathan was nice and respectful but that's the only positive.

On Nov 27th I had my '01 LeSabre towed to Texican. I did so after reading their reviews and Johnny's responses to those reviews. I found that to be very informative about how much he cared about his company; and his customers.Any Johnny did exactly what we talked about. He only found that I had broken a motor mount. He told me the price including the tow and I was shocked. Not only did he look at my car, and replace the motor mount, he only charged me for what was done. That cost was $.295.76. he not only repared my vehicle, he showed me that their is a reliable, no b.s repair shop right here, in the northeast part of El Paso.He's gained my trust, and I will take me car back if and when other issues occur.I greatly appreciated their honesty, and timely repairs.

Johnny was grate.He even lost money trying to fix it. Honest and a grate tech. Would highly recommend to anyone. Everyone should use this place. Thanks to Johnny, my car runs like new again.l. He worked on my car and repaired it and he even lost money himself but he stuck with it and found the problems. Great guy and great service.Services: Transmission, Engine repair

We were traveling from AZ to central TX when we discovered a leak in our transmission. Johnny diagnosed the problem while determining the extent of the repair needed. He was able to work us in and had the rear output shaft seal in stock. He, and his son, were professional, friendly and efficient. In just a little while we were on our way again. There was no charge because the transmission was still under warranty. I highly recommend Johnny at Texican Transmission and Motors.Service: Transmission

Johnny was super honest and didn t over charge me. His communication and updates were 10/10. He told me my vehicle would be done on a certain day and he was able to get it done sooner. He gave me peace of mind and a warranty. I definitely recommend Johnny.

My transmission had been making strange noises and slipping out of gear for a while and I'd been dreading having it looked at.I was sure it was going to need to be rebuilt costing $2500+.Mike took me fir a short test drive and offered a ideas that didn't involve a rebuild and said leave it for a day or so for him to look into it. True to his word he called a day and a half later and said the transmission was fine but all three mounts were broken or damaged. Roughly three hours later my car was running like new at less than a third of what I was expecting to pay.I would absolutely recommend him to anyone with a transmission problem or any other problem for that matter.Service: Transmission

All the 5 star reviews are so on point! Johnnie and his crew worked a miracle and got my differential replaced within the initial estimate. I appreciated how they shared their thought process during the diagnosis, the pricing estimates before the work began, and how they finished the work one day before their estimated time. Truly grateful that these folks worked on my vehicle.

First of all, I had never done business with this shop in the past, until about two weeks ago. I am one of those people that dont go to a mechanic that is not recommended, but my transmission was in need of a complicated repair and I knew it had to be some one certified, that way it would be worth spending the money. I went by the reviews the shop has online, everything I could find. I could not find a dispute unresolved. So I went for it, they offered a fair price for the repair, kept me updated. When I went to pick up my SUV, Johnny (the owner) showed me the parts that were replaced. Excellent customer service. After I picked up my SUV, when I came home I noticed a wired noise, I took it back the next day, and Johnny checked it out right away. They replaced the part that needed to be changed with no extra charge. He said so him self "if its something we did, we will take care of it." and he did just that. Not only that but the warranty I got on my rebuilt transmission is good for one year and valid nation wide, so this was a good investment. So overall, a job well done!!

I was having transmission problems and another mechanic told me about Texican Transmissions. He said they were the best in El Paso and honest. I live on the west side, so I thought it was strange to recommend this transmission shop on the other side of town. But it was worth it. Johnny does very good work and he is honest. He knows transmissions! The transmission on my 2006 F150 was done at 120k miles. Johnny rebuilt my 4x4 transmission in 3-4 days. Amazing. The truck is reliable again. Thank you Johnny

Took my 2012 ram 2500 to this shop When the trans had failed. Johnny was very quick to diagnose the issue my truck was having. Completely rebuilt the transmission and was willing to show me each and every part that he was replacing. My truck broke down on a Wednesday and he had it repaired by Friday. Came in on his off day to let me pick it up. The truck now drives like a dream. I would recommend this shop to anyone

First time here for an intermitent problem with my Dodge Ram not starting.The men were thorough. Honest. Fixed it within 2 hours. Now my truck is fine.I like that they showed me what they found and did not mind questions.Truck needed new battery connectors. New starter. All connections from head lights to back wall tightened.Reasonable price.I recommend them.

Brought my 2003 Ram 1500 4x4 over to Texican Transmission from the west-side because I had heard good things about the work done there, and that the owner (Johnny Walters) was a great mechanic and a man of integrity. I am glad I did. I had to have my transmission rebuilt, which is never fun, and can be expensive, but to have it done by someone like Johnny makes it a better experience than it otherwise might be. He takes the time to explain everything, teaches you a bit about your truck along the way, answers all your questions, and offers options and discusses what those might mean to you down the road. He provides excellent service, great communication and the work was done quickly and he left the truck in better shape than when it was when I dropped it off. He saw some other issues and let me know. He even repaired my skid plate and tightened my loose steering damper, etc. Great warranty (3 year/50,000 miles, nationwide). I highly recommend Johnny at Texican Transmissions & Motors in north-east El Paso. I hope to never have to rebuild a transmission, but if I do, I will be going back to Texican.

Driving from Indiana into El Paso, we found ourselves stranded on the side of the road. The transmission had gone out, and we were not sure what we would do. After reading online reviews, we decided to call Texican Transmission & Motors. Not only did the owner, John, quickly return our call, he only assured us he could do the job, after inspecting our vehicle. He knew we were in a predicament and had limited time in El Paso. While not overpromising, he worked extra hours to deliver our vehicle so we could return safely to Indiana. He communicated every step of the way, so that we knew what was going on with our vehicle and so we knew what expenses to expect. As promised, our vehicle was delivered to us on time, we arrived safely to Indiana, and we could not be more grateful for the services provided. My wife's car needed a transmission fluid change with filter. I called texican spoke to johnny and he gave me a very fair quote and military discount. I arrived at the shop and Johnny was very kind and helpful, we did some paper work and he offered to give me a lift back to base which I gratefully accepted over a uber! Very good service with a local mom and pop feel. I will be coming back for more great service!

This business has good reviews, has an A+ with BBB, and its a member of ATRA. That is why I chose to have my vehicle's transmission rebuilt there. But, I have had a terrible experience with this business. Took my explorer to have transmission rebuilt in 2014 and had to take it back three times to have it reworked on. Besides having transmission reworked on three times, I also was back in that shop many times because of issues with transmission every time he reworked on it but, they, John and his workers, always dismissed me saying it was something else. Twice he tried to blame the vehicle's computer or the electrical wires when I had to take it back to him because o/d light came on. He made me feel like he was trying to charge me to fix an imaginary problem that did not exist when all along it was the transmission that he was not fixing correctly. I truly believe that he did a repair instead of a rebuilt because the transmission has failed three times. I can only hope that this last time he fixed it and put the new parts he claimed because my warranty is expiring soon. I paid for a rebuilt not a quick fix that should only last until warranty expires.

Took a vehicle to the shop after another shop had it for over a month and couldnt fix it. Brought my vehicle to john and had it repaired within a week. Great customer service and honest work! I will definitely be using this shop again!

They put in a new transmission for me but destroyed my reverse harness which didn t turn on my reverse lights or allowed me to shift into reverse, caused a leak in the rear diff, and forgot to mount my vehicle speed sensor. They fixed the leak and the speed sensor but I had to pony up the change to fix the rest at a reputable shop.

Johnny does awesome work had a few flaws with first motor he installed from the supplier. Second motor he put in was a totally remanufactured motor for my troubles. man of his word. guaranteed good service

Great work on finding and fixing a vibration in the engine. They were able to take it piece by piece, repair only what was necessary and kept me informed along the way. Johnny and the team are outstanding! Highly recommend.

great shop! The owner, Jonny, is beyond a doubt an expert transmission builder and extremely courteous. Texican built a custom, performance transmission for my z51 c6 Corvette and the car runs and drives better than it did the day I drove it off of the lot. He stayed within my budget, communicated effectively about every aspect of the build, delivered on-time and perfermed the build exactly to my specifications and needs. I am a very difficult customer to please and they met my standards in evrry way. If you live in El Paso and need any transmissiom work, go to Texican.

I moved to the area recently and was looking for a reliable mechanic. I saw Texican Transmissions & Motors had a couple of good reviews online, so thought I would try them out. They provided honest, professional, knowledgeable service, so now they have another good review and I don't need to look anywhere else. I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a mechanic shop.

I have a 1974 Ford F100 pickup with an fmx transmission that had many leaks. Took it to a couple of guys they could not fix it but Texican was able to fix all the leaks and did a great job and I'm very happy!

The owner and his team know what their doing and very honest and explain the work that needs to be done and get the vehicle back to you not many garages are this honest and reasonably priced I highly recommend them the owner John

Needed a clutch replacement. Communication was great during the entire process and car was ready much sooner than expected.
