My first experience here was not the greatest experience. My main issue was at that time the lack of communication. While the work performed was more than satisfactory, I did get communicated in regard to my vehicle. Fast forward a couple of years and those issues have been fixed.I brought my car in for a coolant issue. I tried everything I could to fix it myself but could not figure it out. I brought it here to need 4 speed and within a few hours they had diagnosed the car and had already contacted my insurance company. They let me know every step of the way what was going on with my car. The repairs were performed quickly and are under warranty. I had to go through my warranty so there were some delays however, they explained to me my vehicle was already broken down and waiting to be repaired, just as soon as the parts came in.After my repairs were performed they did everything they could to ensure it was repaired correctly and I would not face any other issues.They did such a great job with my car that when repairs needed to be done outside of warranty coverage I could not think of any other place but need 4 speed. Family run local businesses are not always the best however, need 4 speed is. I cannot imagine myself taking my car anywhere else but here. Recently my car needed a repair that the warranty did not cover. They quoted me a fair price but I could not afford it at that time. They did not pressure me into making me believe my car will suffer a catastrophic failure if I did not get it fixed right then and there, but they did caution me and let me know that it was needed and when I was ready to come back. They have me some instructions on things to look out for as well.Overall, need 4 speed is a great, honest and fair mechanic. Warm and welcoming every time and they will always try to accommodate where they can. I am horrible with names but Justin and the rest of the crew are simply the best. I went in with an AC problem that i couldn't figure out. Turns out my entire fuse box shorted out. He showed me exactly what the issue was and for a $60.00 diagnostic fee I felt confident that I got my moneys worth. The fee rolls in as credit to the final bill if you decide to go through with the repair and I gladly said yes knowing that my vehicle was in good hands. I got to meet Jerry who has racing fuel in his veins. Great guy and a great business that reflects his passion for vehicles. Need 4 Speed Auto Repair and AC you definitely can't go wrong with.

They do what they say and doing it great job. Its nice to know a mechanic shop that you know like and can trust. He rebuilt the engine in our Van and it runs great like new. Thank you Need 4 Speed. When your in business its important to have your vehicles running good. He has help me keep my business going strong. Call him first and last and get it done right the first time. he even fixes and services my scooter from Sano Scooters.

A few days ago I was desperate to get my ac fixed in my car because it was blowing hot air when it idled. Thanks to you all for your great service! Ana was amazing, she was so helpful and so was the owner, he explained everything to me. I trusted them from the day I called to schedule an appointment! For one because I feel women get taken advantage of when they need something fixed with their cars but I felt very comfortable here. Thank you all so much for your great service!

I went with to this place several times for my a/c cause I wasn t aware of many places in the city and long story short they did fix the problem each time, but not well. Unfortunately the repair didn t last more than a few months each time. I kept going in hopes of the next time being the last but it was always something new with at least a few hundred dollars for the repair. Finally, the last time I was told my compressor and the valves were shot, and that my lines would have to be cleaned out and/or replaced. All of this after spending well over one-thousand in repairs over a span of two years, dealing with no a/c in my car during the boiling hot summers here. For the new compressor and lines, the owner told me I m looking at two grand. So after all this I still have a a/c that doesn t work and wasted money. I just felt like this place wasn t completely honest with me the entirety of my business spent with them, could ve saved a lot of money and had the problem fixed sooner.

Quality auto mechanic. Ordering parts took some time. Good communication. Competitive pricing. Thank you, N4S. they seem to overlook warranty repairs and instead focus on insurance claims. they seemed to be very familiar with the adjuster, but not as competent with procurement and installation of warranty covered parts. they had my vehicle for almost two weeks only to tell me that i should order my own warranty parts from ebay.

I found this place through my extended warranty company. My extended warranty company created a debacle that resulted in my car being at Need4Speed for 2 months. My extended warranty company will be getting a negative review but Need4Speed deserves more than 5 stars! They were amazing. Every person at Need4Speed I had the pleasure of dealing with during this very frustrating time for me was friendly, communicated well, professional, sympathetic and patient. Jerry and his team are absolute pros. I found his shop online through their positive reviews and I am now happy to share my own review. The first time I came in I brought my wife s car for an AC service. I thought the system was shot and my wife and I had talked about potentially having to spend a few thousand dollars. The guys at the shop found that the ac system was simply overcharged so they drained the refrigerant and recharged the system. More important than the money I saved was the honesty from the shop. I ve been back two more times I will no doubt continue to bring my vehicles in because I trust this shop.

Jerry and staff were great. We had some work done and a few months passed and a part that was repaired began to fail. Took the vehicle back in to get checked. Jerry and crew had a quick look and diagnosed the problem and honored their work by replacing and repairing at no cost. Ethical/high integrity. Definitely recommend Need 4 Speed for auto work!!

You walk into this shop and it shouts out professionalism, technical expertise and customer care and satisfaction. Then you talk to Jerry, owner and general manager, and he confirms all this with his quick understanding of your problem and experience/knowledge on how to fix it the right way. This is why I chose this shop over many others to completely overhaul my broken a/c system. I'm glad I did because they did an exceptional job fixing my a/c that now works better than ever! Jerry even had one of his staff, Laura, drive me home when my car was secured overnight and then pick me up when it was ready. I really appreciated this since this was my only car. I will not hesitate recommending this great auto repair shop to my friends and family!

My car had a gasoline smell. The problem was difficult to find but Jerry didn't give up until he found the problem. He was able to fix my car. I didnt have to wait long to get an appointment. Prices are reasonable. It's difficult to find someone to trust with your vehicle. I will definitely take my car back if I have any problems in the future.

Need 4 Speed came up when I was searching for ac repair, all their reviews were nothing but amazing. Jerry, his wife and staff were wonderful and helped me out so much when a part needed to be special ordered. I was without a car for 6 days, they made sure to keep me updated and went above and beyond to get my car back to me quickly but making sure the job was done right. I appreciate everything Jerry and his wife did for me! I will only be taking my vehicle to Need 4 Speed! Jerry stands by his work and it shows! Thank you!!

I was on my way from California back to Florida where I live. Towing a trailer with items in it. My hub on the axle broke on the trailer in the middle of the road. Jerry came to my rescue and brought my trailer to his facility. Not only did Jerry and his staff get a replacement axle and hub for my trailer. He helped me with other issues I had. Thank you to Jerry and all the staff at need for speed I would not have made it home without you.

This shop was recommended by carmax as a partner mechanic who give me the same quality as carmax in repairing my car. I took my car here March 18 to get it looked at after throwing a code correlating with the turbo. When I arrived the owner and a lady named anna greeted me and told me they would take care of everything and give me updates along the way. They claim that they would even show me the parts they took out and tell me what they are going to do to repair the vehicle. That was the last time i have heard from the owner and the last time I got any info on my car that I did not have to call for.Monday March 21st came and I was told after calling of course that the parts had been ordered and they would arrive that business day. Once arrived it would take 2 to 3 days to complete. Fast forward to Thursday March 24th and I again had to call to get an update. I was told then that the car still needed to be tested to ensure everything was functioning properly. The next day Friday I call and call and call and no one answers.Monday morning comes around and I again call to get an update on my car. I was told that they were waiting on bolts to finish up and that it would be done by end of business Monday March 28th. I leave work early to make it to the shop by 1700. I am about to return my rental vehicle when I call them to let them know that I am on my way and will be in about 5 minutes to pick up my car. The employee who answer the phone ( no name given) stated that my car was not ready that the tech wanted to keep another day to ensure everything was working properly. I was already told this last week and still have no car.Here I am Tuesday March 29th and I call them again since they cannot seem to return calls and I am told that the parts are not even installed on the car and that it will take 8 hours to complete. When I tell them that they had told me yesterday that it was done I was told that was not true and that they could not tell when it would be done but to call them back after 1500 to get an update. The lady Anna is very dismissive and always gives half truths and whole lies. They claim professionalism but fail in every aspect of it. It is still unknown whether or not I will get my back today or not. I was already told it was ready to be picked up but that was not true.I do not recommend this mechanic for any service on your car. They will lie to you and then completely change their story and not take accountability for their subpar customer service and lack of professionalism. If you ever need repairs to be done on your car look else where as this place will never give you an answer and always claim their tech is working on the car when in fact they are not.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic shop!The date in which the car was supposed to be ready changed 4 times I spent a lot of money because of that and in no way was there any sort of sorry. A job that should have taken half hour took 2 weeks.They originally quoted me one price, a week later they nearly doubled the price (mind you it was the same part and the same labor.)I went there because I bought a warranty from Carmax and they had a long waiting list or something, so they sent me here. Apparently Carmax sends everyone here because NFS gets so much business from Carmax that the individual customer service is awful at NFS.You know that stereotype about mechanics being cheats who will take you for all you got, yeah well I really feel that this experience fit that stereotype.I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. And of course I will never go back.They have this front of honesty but it really felt like just a front. I bet at some point this was a great shop that was honest but because of their success, well that changed it. I guess the saying is right, "money and success changes people"And I'm sure someone will be on here to reply something like "we're sorry for your experience we try..." but that's bull as well. There were plenty of opportunities to make this right, I went and spoke to them in person, and they just never did. In fact they just kept pushing the date later and late costing me more and more money on a rental.Look, just search for another mechanic shop, if that's why you are reading reviews, you won't regret it!Reply to owners Reply:Your Reply further proves that you have shaddy practices like changing the "quote" from one week to the next. It also shows that you take absolutely no responsibility for a poor job.Being disrespectful is relative all I told them is that your establishment has worst customer service. Yes I yelled at first but even you admitted that if you were in my shoes you would also be very upsetNo you didn't get me a better price on the part, the better price is the one you quoted me originally. Then you nearly doubled the price of the part then knocked off 20 bucks and that's what you say is the better price, please!HAHA "waived " the diagnostic fee, see your shaddy practices, how can you waive a fee that I was never quoted. Again, that honest front is just that, A Front! Honesty is important to people

If you are looking for a trustworthy, reliable, and family oriented shop, look no further. Need4speed is by far the best . They always kept me informed about the vehicle's progress, and they do not gouge you for money.100% will be coming backI thank all of you for taking the time on my old truck and making my husband and I feel welcome and content with our decision. I met Mr Jerry on a plane ride recently. I guess i can t write a review on the business, but I can definitely tell you, I can write a review on his character. This man has a heart for service, and an appreciation for his employees. He Had nothing but good things to say about those who work for him. And he also gave me some tips for my future business. And you can tell he loves what he does, because he talks so highly of his job, this establishment, and his team.

I came in at 9:25 with an appointment at 9:30 am to have my ac diagnosed. They told me that it would take 2-4 hours to do the diagnostics on it I thought that it was a little much but okay I m not a mechanic so I waited. After an hour my car had not even been begun being worked on so I decided I wa a going to have someone pick me up and I went to kill some time. I come back 2 hours later to see that my car was still up front. Then I asked to see if maybe it had been diagnosed already and they informed me that they had not even started yet. Now I don t mind waiting coming back had they told me that they were a little busy instead I wasted all morning waiting for something that according to google should ideally take 30 min but okay an hour to be reasonable. I waited 3 to have my car parked up front. I m not sure how good there guys are at actually fixing cars but the professionalism when it comes to time is not there. How easy would it have been to call a day before to reschedule for another day since they knew since yesterday that they were busy. What s the point of scheduling an appointment. This was a CarMax certified mechanic shop but I would not recommend coming here unless you are okay waiting 3-4 hours for what should take 30 min I cannot imagine paying the 100 dollar fee for the diagnostic just to wait 4 or maybe more hours. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else or have a ride ready for god know how long.

I'm writing this after carefully and patiently evaluating my experience over the course of the better part of a year. I brought my 1967 Mercury Cougar to Need 4 Speed simply because another Auto Shop in my area recommended them for AC work. I needed a hose repair on my AC line, and though the distance was longer from my neighborhood, I took the recommendation to heart. What followed, was a series of repairs, and an odyssey neither the shop, nor I expected.The shop rerouted and fixed the AC line, and I returned to rebuild the carburetor and tune the engine. The engine eventually blew after it was running on 7 cylinders. This lead to an engine rebuild and a the decision that lead to the months and months of trial and error. I chose to switch to Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). Something they had never done before. Through this, the shop charged fairly, and communicated well. The whole installation was done in decent time, but the dialing in of the system, was a nightmare. Not because the work wasn't good, but the learning curve was unforgiving. EFI systems are rife with small issues that if you don't know what to look for, will get you every time. Ultimately, after an O2 sensor reposition, a short, and playing with the fuel pump location, and months and months of me showing up again with the car not wanting to play along, it was dialed in.I'm leaving out issues like locking nuts rattling off the exhaust, belts squealing after the rebuild, etc., etc, but Jerry and his team always took the car back with a smile, charged for parts and labor when it was the right thing to do, and corrected details at no cost if they had already charged as part of the initial install.Classic cars are never perfect, and will always be a work in progress, but this ordeal could have been worse with a money hungry shop, willing to cast blame elsewhere and move on. Jerry took care of me, and did I mention they don't just work on AC's? I highly recommend Need 4 Speed.

Dont take your vehicle here. I understand thats sounds like a terrible thing to suggest because mistakes happen. But to give context. I took my car here to have the sparkplugs pulled after one broke off in the head(no other damage) should have been a simple fix considering i starting taking it apart for them and bought all the parts needed. Turns out after many phone calls and the team doing things they weren't asked to do that my car wasn't even put back together correctly. ( They tried to convince me that it had to be making the sounds before hand) Well I took the car directly to Ford and let them take a look and this shop did not secure the cam shaft bolts to proper tightness. 17 pounds on 3 different bolts out of them. BTW it was towed after getting it out of there to Ford. This mistake cost me a head and a repeat of the same job that this shop cost me 2900 dollars to do. To inform the ones not understanding a head job is charged between 6 to 8 hours of labor. This shop charged me 20 over twice what others do and still cost me by saying it was something they didn't touch. I have video of my car ( time and date filmed running before and after their repairs) the gentlemen at Ford wrote a statement for me i will be going to legal and trying to get these lairs black listed for fort bliss. Please be careful out there choosing a good mechanic people. Pictures will be added.

Dealership wanted $1800 to replace audio system! Went to Custom Sounds and they did a hard reset for $28!! I will never go back to the dealership again for anything. It s hard to find a good auto repair shop. Need 4 Speed is better than good, they are GREAT! And their new location is WOW!! Jerry and his crew are honest, hard working, and get the job done!! Recognizing the need for regular oil changes and routine maintenance, this is the right place for me and our family fleet!

If I could give this place zero stars I would! They kept my car for 3 days to do a simple A/C repair when they told us it would take one day. Every time we called to inquire about the car we were told a different story. They are not truthful and then speak to you as if you re an idiot and have never had a car in the shop. Do not recommend and will never use their services again.

I had sent a vehicle to get a hard wired GPS tracking system installed with Need 4 Speed and they did a neat and quick installation. They got it installed and running and they charged me a very reasonable price for it. I d recommended other people to the shop since that day and I only hear good things about this place. Especially how neat and clean it is as far a mechanic shop goes. I recommend working with them.

Jerry is great at what he does. He is knowledgable and honest.This is the best shop I've been to in El Paso. The waiting room is comfortable, the shop is clean, and he has the equipment needed to tackle a large variety of auto repairs.I came in to service my AC system and he had my car AC blowing cold in a timely matter.I'll definitely be coming back here to get work done on my project car.

So I bought a car back in October and apparently it was faulty and my motor blew on my way to work. Luckily, the owner of the lot I bought it from helped me out with repairs to get it back running. The team at Need 4 Speed Auto Repair & AC Service really came through on this project for me. They got me a new engine and repaired other needed parts along the way. Very proud of the team and the professionalism they had along the way. Thank you for everything. If you need quality work done, this is your place to go.

I took my previous Jeep to Jerry for a noise I was hearing. Jerry and his team did a thorough inspection and explained to me the brake job I needed and why. Jerry even took me under my Jeep which was up on the lift to show me the stuff he was talking about. I am not mechanically inclined but was very impressed by how honest Jerry is and how much he wanted me to understand what was going on with my vehicle. I have since bought a new Jeep but before I finalized the purchase I took it to Jerry to have it checked out. I'm so glad I found an honest mechanic who excels in doing the best job he can for his customers. I am a customer for life!!

It may be too early for me to make a review due to the fact that they just started on my car but, my car is in there for a complete rebuild from block up. Best price I have ever been given for the quality of there work. I went in and looked around the whole shop, Jerry and his wife are doing an outstanding job with the place, BY FAR the best shop in and/or around El Paso and all of its trash. I got gone all the very skilled and well know technicians and Jerry keeps me up to date on every single little thing. I was truly amazed by the hospitality of this shop and would not trust my car in anyone else s hands.If you actually care about your vehicle and the way people treat you and talk to you and inform you and just seem to show care for your own belongings then this is the place to go. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs anything at all from a simple oil change to a complete rebuild. Give Jerry a call!

Superb customer service and very good work. We had a mechanical problem on our journey from Arizona to Louisiana. We found Need 4 Speed at 5pm, they close at 6. They stayed an hour past closing and worked through the issue so we could get back on the road. And, they didn't have high charges for the work! If I lived in El Paso, this is where I would take my vehicle for any repairs.

I went in to get my AC looked at after visiting three other shops. 1 of them fixed a problem but not the root problem, the other told me they wouldn't have time for me after I scheduled an appointment, the third one didn't even get to my AC issue! I wasted 3 days with three other shops. After 15 minutes, Mr. Jerry Kandler told me exactly what was wrong with my AC and how much it would cost to fix it. This is how customer service is supposed to be in the United States. The shop was clean, organized and very professional. At Need 4 Speed, an appointment is an appointment! You can sit and wait in the clean lobby and use a clean restroom if you have to. I really can't compare this place to any other, there is no competition in El Paso. This is what a shop is supposed to be.
