I took my car in because I thought the water pump was busted and I had warranty at the shop. The actual problem was a heater hose. I was told it was a very difficult job and it would be $368 total. I okayed it because I trusted these guys and I was in a hurry when they called. I pick up the car this afternoon and check the work at home. This job was not worth what they said at all. The actual hose was not as difficult as they made it out to get to, and how are you going to charge $70 of antifreeze and not itemize any of the parts? (See receipt in picture). The labor they said was $150. They have an engine cleaning fee and diagnostic fee. I know because I ve been here before.They do good work, but be careful with the easy jobs. They ll charge an arm and a leg for those, too. Too bad El Paso doesn t have better mechanics at decent prices. Buyer beware and double check your car with a friend or AutoZone before bringing it here if you re on a budget.

Al and his crew are awesome! Went in for AC recharge and was able to see that the motor mounts were causing a leak. Other folks would just fix the symptom. These guys do the next best thing and help you with repairs as well as preventative measures so that you don t wind up having to spend more. Super appreciative of their work especially as my family and I moved out of town. That alone created a bit of a time crunch, but these guys were honest, well priced, and made sure we could get across the country with our car. Thank you guys!

I don t recommend these place at all they overcharged me 3 times for labor for an easy job something so simple, they just take advantage of people who don t really know, and they hey probably just oiled the same blower motor because it kept doing the same noise, be careful and better look for another prestigious shop

Highly recommend. Walked in thinking I knew what I wanted and prepared to spend a lot of money. 5min talking to Al and he convinced me I didn't need the full exhaust system I was asking for. Quoted me a very fair price for a muffler delete and got me in right then. 45min later my car sounded exactly how I wanted and I couldn't be happier. Whole experience was great. Al does great work at great prices.

They are horrible. I went in as my battery light turned on. They helped me immediately, and told me what happened. They weld my connector on, after a month my car will not start due to what they did to my car. They charged me $230 just to mess my car up all over again. I believe they charged me that much because I m a young female and absolutely just wanted my car fixed. I told them about this, and they told me it wasn t their fault when it was only them to fix it. They did not want to fix what they did. Now I have to buy a whole new alternator PLUS a connector harass.Service: Auto battery replacement

After reading all the other reviews, Al doesn't really need mine, but I'm writing it anyway. I looked at custom exhaust businesses from Albuquerque to Las cruces Nm, then 40 others in El Paso Texas. I was thinking maybe I would have to go back to LA to get a real custon system, and then just by a stroke of luck, I found Al's Performance. When you walk in, you'll see immediately by the way his exhaust parts inventory is displayed, you're going to get prideful work, not to mention if you come in with your wife or kids, his waiting room is super cool and clean and comfortable. It took him 2 hours to undo what was called a custom job, and he replaced it with such artistry. We drove out of there feeling really cool. Hey before I forget, his rack sits recessed in the ground so if your car sits lower then most, you can glide right in. Hey Al. you made our day. Al is an artist! He has created exhaust systems for two of my vehicles and I am very satisfied. Excellent craftsmanship, tuned just how I want it at a reasonable price. He goes for the extra little details to make your engine sound right and the vehicle look right.

Be very careful with this business!!!! Went to get an exhaust done, after they were done I asked for my old catalytic converter and it had been gutted completely.When I made them aware one of the employees told me it was already gutted when they removed it, funny thing was I had never had any exhaust work done prior to thisService: ExhaustService: Exhaust

I am very impressed with their quality of work and customer engagement. Not many shops make sure the customer is updated on a project and can understand and even inspect what is being done. The technician also took the time to identify some additional areas with my vehicle to keep an eye on and gave me some helpful suggestions. Their shop was clean and the customer waiting area was nice. I'll definitely be back.--John

Al does amazing work. He's done all my classic muscle cars exhaust from front to back and gets the sound I'm looking for right on every single time not to mention his reasonable prices. Highly recommend

First off, i was exceeded beyond my expectations. AL the gentleman who helped me was nice as can be and boy he did one hell of a job on my ride. He's very reasonable on prices and does a outstanding performance on his work and labor. Now,my 2005 Chevy Z-71 Tahoe V-8 sounds like a beast. Again great work AL. Highly recommend this business. Al always does exceptional work. In my opinion, it's worth the extra 25 mile drive each way. Once you experience his work, you probably won't ever go anywhere else. We've been using him exclusively for many years. His welding is second to none.

Incredible quality and price, I would recommend Al's shop to anyone. He has worked on 3 of my vehicles, one of them I had to bring back to fix a flex pipe a second time, he honored his lifetime warranty and it was free. I have not seen more professional quality work

If you want the highest quality exhaust service, look no further. Al is experienced, passionate, and meticulous with his work, and his prices are great. I've taken my turbocharged '01 Miata there a number of times for exhaust repairs and upgrades, and I'm never disappointed.

I had my vehicle s air conditioner examined here because the air wasn't coming out cold. They replaced 2 Schrader valves and serviced the a/c because I was told I had a leak. I was initially told that the compressor wasn t working because there wasn t any pressure before they did any work. However, when they completed the a/c work, I was informed that the compressor was not working.I was initially told it would be $130 to service the a/c and replace the valves, but was charged $179 because I was told that one of the Schrader valves was $35 when I found it for $5.19 at Autozone.I then purchased the compressor because due to the prior situations, I couldn t trust them. I called Al s to inquire on the labor cost to replace the a/c compressor and was quoted $380. However, Pep Boys only charged me $228 ($152 less than their labor cost with a labor warranty). When I relayed the Pep Boys compressor replacement labor cost to the owner, it appeared as if he didn t believe me since he did not make any attempt to provide a competitive labor cost, told me to have it replaced there and bring my vehicle back to get a/c reserviced.As a result of the aforementioned integrity concerns and due to overpricing labor costs and parts, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this repair facility to anyone.Service: Air conditioning

Al's Performance Exhaust looked like a place where I could take my 27-year-old Honda Civic to get the shocks replaced and perhaps save some money from the high estimate from Pep boys.However after calling the office I was told that I needed to bring the car in for that estimate.I arrived at 1:05 p.m. only to see that the shop was closed and a sign indicating such.I returned at 2:15 and found that the shop was still closed so I decided to call the shop from the parking lot. The same voice answered as from the morning call that I made and I asked when could I bring my car in for the estimate because I was standing in front of his shop and it appeared closed. I was immediately lied to and told that he had just closed the shop and would return in 45 minutes. That would indicate that the shop would be closed for a 2-hour lunch and that the customer could be lied to and that the lunch hour for the shop could be taken at their leisure. So this forces me to question the integrity of such performance. I will stick to Pep boys.

Al has done 3 of my vehicles. A 98' Dakota with a full cat back. A 10' Tacoma with a FloPro exhaust, and my 15' STi with a FloPro resonator to straight y-pipe out the back. Excellent work every time. Tell him what you want and he delivers. Reasonable prices and extreme confidence. Lifetime warranty is included on everything.

Not sure if one sour apple ruined this for you all, but I was greeted rudely in the parking lot by what seemed to be the owner or manager of this place. Without even looking at what I was requesting him do, he was so quick to throw out ridiculous prices. When I questioned him he just seemed whatever about the whole interaction. I went to this place due to their somewhat good reviews, take your hard earned money elsewhere.

I've been going to Al's since my first truck back in '99 when he was on Trowbridge. He did my late wife's Challenger yesterday. Great service then, same service now. Thank you Al!!

Didn't keep his word on lifetime work. Went this past Saturday to see if he could weld my trucks tailpipes that came loose with time told me he was to busy, so he told me bring it on Tuesday which I did said he couldn't to call him to see when his not busy, beats around the Bush better of taking it to juarez where they do keep there word.
