Recently, while driving through Dallas my car broke down off of 35. After a quick google search coupled with the guidance of the tow truck driver. I sent my car to Trowell and Turner. Best move I could ve made. Upon arriving at the shop, I was met by the friendliest group of guys I ve ever met. They checked my car out and found a faulty water pump. They explained what caused the pump to fail and what it would take to fix it. My entire bill was explained upfront. Further, when they began looking for a replacement water pump, they called multiple vendors right in front of me so I heard what the parts costs. They were beyond helpful. I turned down multiple offers of lunch or a ride down to whataburger. I have not had an experience like this before. I highly recommend this shop! A++

These people seemed to be very nice, And I don't think they meant to give me a bad deal. Went in and needed a new MAP sensor, was stressed about it an anxious and they were very kind. Was charged $350 and didn't think anything of it, as I know nothing about cars. Not even a week later and my car stalls again, same code, took it to a family friend s shop and it's the MAP sensor again. They got a brand-new MAP sensor from the dealership for less than $100. Was charged more for labor but it was still much less than $350. Was quick to replace and fine since. I don't think it was intentional, but the large gap in prices confused me. Especially considering that the sensor they gave me was not brand new or from the dealership. Edit: They saw my review and offered me a full refund, and as I said, these people do seem very nice and I am sure it wasn t intentional. However, I still thinks its important to leave this review. Grateful for the refund, Brian is very kind.

Came here because my car was running hot. They informed me that I would need a new alternator. However their charges to repair it was going to be $800 which I feel is completely unreasonable being that my car is an older car (a 2012 model). They were all friendly and helpful until I decided to not continue with the repair. I kind of felt pressured to get the service. They were moving so fast. As soon as they got my car to the back they started taking my alternator out when I informed them that I wanted to make sure I had the funds to get the repair. I called around and got a few different quotes from other mechanics and they all were in the $300-$400 range. I found another professional mechanic about 5 mins from this shop called Flores Muffler and Radiator and they got me in and out the same day for $385. They also gave me a warranty on my alternator and labor for 1 year. As a woman I recommend going with your dad or a male figure who has some sense about cars because I went alone and as a woman it s very hard to find a trustworthy mechanic who won t try to get over on you. Lastly when I got my car back from them after them having to put my alternator back in my car my radiator was leaking coolant really really bad. My car was not leaking before I brought it to them. I didn t argue with them about it because thank god I was going up the street to get my car fixed some where else. Moral of the story is ladies be careful.

Larry, Brian, Senior and the whole team at Trowell & Turner are Awesome!! Courteous, Knowledgeable & Efficient. I brought in two different vehicles for pre-purchase inspections and they thoroughly checked everything out and brought to my attention areas of concern that I was able to take back to the bargaining table. They are Fantastic!!

Being a female, I am weary of being taken advantage of when taking my car to get worked on. Terry Harding was able to tell me what was wrong with my car and how it could cause other issues if not fixed in terms I completely understood. He did not try to sell me things I did not need and my expenses were very reasonably priced. I will definitely be bringing my car here again whenever I have any issues. Great customer service.

I give Trowell & Turner my highest recommendation: I would tell my grandmother to go there. It's a great team of mechanics that know what they're doing and very reasonably priced. Honestly, the technicians seem pretty happy to be there as well! I brought my car in for "a noise", and they knew right away what the issue was which tells me they are very experienced.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, A/C installation & repair

We stopped there because our red Subaru s wheel was loose and they helped us without hesitations. and it might have seem like it was a small work.But my dad was grateful because they were very kind. Thank you guys!

I went 2 weeks without my car. I took it to Firestone and got it fixed on what they diagnosed my car with. It was all wrong. My coworker told me about Trowell and Turner. I called them immediately. They couldn t get in the same day because they were busy but when I tell you when I took my car to them how PROFESSIONAL AND how they made sure I understood what was going on with my car and what was needed. They even made me more comfortable as a woman trying to get her car fixed and not being lead wrong and wasting money like I previous did. I trust this shop. They will not lead you wrong. They got my car fixed and I had no issues with the cost of everything. I will always go back there. I will recommend anyone to them. The shop is amazing. From the dad to the son that works there. The customer service is amazing as well. I was so excited when I got my car this morning. I really appreciate the honesty they gave me.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

Very good Automotive Shop my daughter took car in for service Terry looked over vehicle and took the time to call me and explain everything that needed to be done in detail. Terry is very professional i highly recommend this shop !

T&T was recommended to me by my neighbor. He said they were fair, efficient and easy to deal with. I agree and will add they are honest. I did not have an appt, I showed up w my jeep at 730 am. Talked w the guys, they dropped me off at work. Called before 9 to give me an estimate and the jeep was done before 2. They were super nice, definitely a go too garage. Highly recommend.

Called in at 9:30 AM about my SUV due to electrical issues. Trowell & Turner picked up my vehicle at 11:30 AM, diagnosed the issue by 12:15 PM, fixed by 3:00 PM. Excellent work and communication and fair pricing. I will return for more work on my SUV in the very near future. You can walk out of the Trowell & Turner and feel you received the best and honest auto repair work ever completed!Thank you to the mechanics and the owners! Like stepping back in time to when people took pride in their work and provided excellent service. This is the best mechanic shop I Dallas by a mile. They can fix it, they want to fix it, they will do it with a smile and with excellence. I'm very pleased with how well I was treated at Towell and Turner.

So thankful for Terry and everyone at Trowell and Turner! And thankful they found out the problem I was having still had a couple months left being under warranty! I can not thank them enough. Good, honest people. I highly recommend them! I know where I will always be going from here on out!!

After months of frustration dealing with poor quality service and repair after a collision, (with multiple returns to the dealership where the repairs were done) I called Trowell and Turner Automotive to see if they could do anything to help resolve a possible electrical problem I am now experiencing with my car. Larry answered the phone and told me he would listen to entire history of problems with the car since the accident and see what he could do to help. He was very patient with me and then took the time to explain to me what the problem could be, what the dealership will have to do to try and fix it, and if the dealership doesn't fix it by the time they said they would, that I could bring the car to him and he would try his best. Larry spent 30 minutes on the phone with me and explained things in a clear, reasonable way that, although I never had my car worked on there, it already made me trust that he was actually looking out for me and not just trying to pawn me off to someone else or try to make money. I appreciate the time he took, free of charge, to provide some guidance on the situation. Thanks, Larry!

Finally, an HONEST mechanic I can trust! 5+ years in Dallas and Trowell & Turner is the best! Service, expertise, and integrity - usually you pick 2 out of 3 but they have it all. Details below:I needed some time sensitive and short notice repairs (lug bolt replacement + oil change) done to my baby, an 89 Bronco. One of the namesake managers Terry Trowell was working the front desk and picked up my phone call. Terry worked with me on parts sourcing (you may be able to bring your own, depending on the job) to help keep prices down. I spend the extra $$ to get OEM or better parts so that's important to me.When the doors opened at 7:30AM, Trowell & Turner saved a garage slot for me with zero notice. The mechanic work was great, going the extra mile to fill & check all fluids, including adding a little extra oil since 5QT didn't top the motor off. Once they heard I was moving to Denver and was in a rush to beat an upcoming snowstorm, they prioritized my vehicle that morning and even winterized my coolant ratio. Try getting that from your dealer or a random body shop on 60 minutes notice!This place has been open for 70(!!) years and is a 'good old boy' shop in the best way, they'll sit and talk with you about your issue and they make all their customer service calls in the open so you can see they are the real deal the whole way through. The service was friendly and the shop is setup so you can see the garage floor while you sit in the lobby, a plus for part-time mechanics like me. I waited in the lobby for the work to get done for only 60 minutes and had to politely decline multiple offers of rides to get a snack down the road at Whataburger, a ride to work, etc. An old school customer service experience that most places have forgot about.These guys know & love vehicles old and new, which can be hard to find. My background is in workplace safety, and having inspected some auto shops across the US I found this shop to be clean and orderly, with everyone wearing work gloves, safety glasses, only touching paint jobs with clean hands, etc. Think of it like a restaurant - would you eat out of a dirty or messy restaurant, or place where the chef didn't wash his hands? Absolutely not! Cleanliness is a great indicator of quality, and T&T has both.If I wasn't moving out of Dallas, these guys would be my lifetime mechanics. They aren't great at advertising themselves (old school guys who aren't that internet savvy) but the quality of work and service is the *best* I have found in DFW. If you don't believe this review because it sounds too good, give them a call and see if they really aren't nice people who will work with you to save you money and keep your vehicle running.Can't recommend them enough! I was passing through Dallas on a road trip (Nov. 2014) and my alternator went out. I called a few shops and these guys were definitely the most helpful. They were friendly and professional, and really made the effort to get me back on the road as quickly as possible.

Took my car to get a DIAGNOSTIC and to see why I had coolant and oil leaks as well as why my heater wasn t working. They fixed the coolant leaks but the same day I picked up my car I ve had nothing but problems. On day one my car picks and chooses moments where it wanted to crank. I ve let these people know every step of the way of my problems. Monday my car didn t start and again I reached out. They came and got my car Tuesday morning. I ve been working with a Larry who is very rude. He likes to talk over you and tell you in a matter of fact way that you re wrong and everything you ve experienced with your car is your fault. You would think my car would be working after paying these people close to 1,000 dollars in repairs. Nope. Today when I ve gotten my car back the horn, headlights, airbag light (which is now on), check engine light (that s now on too) and my turn signal all do not work on my car and have been working before Trowell and Turner came and got my car back. Well Larry told me today that they wasn t going to do anymore free work on my vehicle and that they aren t the reason why these things don t work even though they worked prior to these people getting my car. He claims that since other people have worked on my car that s why it s how it is. In his words My car has too many problems and I need to go to the dealer Mind you I ve had my car for almost 5 years and this is the first time I ve had anything major happen to it. Nobody has done any major repairs besides them! Larry wants to place the blame on other people . As I informed Larry the DODGE DEALER has been the only other person to touch my car and they fixed the ignition switch and key which I informed them before they started working on my car. Well Larry didn t care cause he hung up in my face after refusing to hear what I had to say because he refused to be quite. So if you want rude mechanics that don t try and help you solve the problems they caused this is the best place to take your car.

I have been taking my cars to Terry for over 8 years. I trust them with my car more than the Ford dealership. I was in and out so quickly today. I hope I don't need a mechanic soon, but if I do I will definitely be going back to them! :)
