Whatever you do DO NOT buy a vehicle from the crooks of Oakwood Auto. They should change their name to Lemon Tree Auto! This is the story of my experience there dealing with the owner Michelle Henderson, who is very charming at first, and getting conned into believing a 2003 Toyota Camry was a good car.First of all the car barely had any gas which made rather challenging to take the car for a test drive on highways. Secondly, I was told and given a receipt that the dealer had replaced the motor by a rebuild one at a cost for them of $700.00. Thirdly, the saga of chasing after the hard plates, proper title, and tags started with Michelle and is still not resolved: I bought the car on April 3, 2023 and I still have temporary plates which expire on July 24.I only drove the car for about 450 miles since I bought it. But the worse was about to come after the car started to overheat and I took it to my mechanic. It turned out that the water pomp and timing belt had to be replaced ( cost $839.00). I told my mechanic to take an overall look at the car. His conclusions were grim: firstly, he said that no rebuild motor was put in, secondly that the transmission was about to go, thirdly that the engine had overheated before, and lastly that the catalytic converter was tempered with, becoming red hot, and had to be replaced. Cost to do all this: around $5,000. Even though the car was bought "As Is", in my mind Oakwood Auto is at fault for making fraudulent claims such as installing a rebuild motor. My next steps is to file an official complaint with the Texas Department of Transportation. There is a Lemon Law in Texas, but unfortunately it only concerns new vehicles. Again, DO NOT buy a vehicle from this dealer. You will have nothing but trouble. For the people having shared my experience I also suggest that you file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau which I will do. Also feel free to contact me as in number one can find strength.

Oakwood Auto is a very professional dealership. They made sure to answer all of my questions, and they also were very thorough. I would highly recommend doing business with them. I ll be sure to send anyone I know their way, if they re looking for a vehicle.

**STAY AWAY** This is one "shady" used car dealership.....and I'm not making reference to the amount of sunlight the place is exposed to during daylight hours......I'm talking about the people who run it. I bought a used car at this place (Michelle Henderson) is the sole contact I dealt with throughout the entire car buying process and afterwards as well. Paid cash for the entire vehicle price the day I left with it and was honestly satisfied with the car and buying experience from this woman until 30 days went by and no title or license plates in the mail so I checked with an employee at the Texas dmv service center in Carrolton and she advises me the vehicle is still not registered in my name (State law says dealer has 30 days to register the vehicle in buyers name and have title transferred). I was given the excuse that they(Michelle and Oakwood Auto) was waiting for some document to be shipped that she had to sign before it could be titled in my name? Ok so another 30 days and NOTHING ...at this point my temporary license plate is expired and I have not even received a phone call or anything to at a minimum say ...hey we are still waiting for this or ...nothihg.....so now She (Michelle and Oakwood Auto) areIntentionally avoiding me and not answering the phone, not returning calls where I left voice-mails, not responding to texts or emails.....PEOPLE YOU HAVE A CHOICE WHEN IT COMES TO WHERE YOU BUY YOUR USED CAR AND THIS IS A BAD ONE. I HOPE THIS AT A MINIMUM BRINGS AWARENESS TO THE UNPROFESSIONALISM AND BAD BUSINESS BEING CONDUCTED AT THIS USED CAR DEALERSHIP AND PREVENTS SOMEONE ELSE FROM GOING THROUGH WHAT I HAVE ......UPDATE: IT IS NOW THE END.OF JUNE 2023 AND I BOUGHT THE CAR IN JANUARY 2023 AND I STILL HAVE NO TITLE AND CANNOT GET THE VEHICLE I PAID CASH FOR REGISTERED IN MY NAME. TRIED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES TO RESOLVE THE MATTER AND NO ANSWER , VOICEMAIL FULL AND CANNOT LEAVE A MESSAGE , VERY FRUSTRATED.
