I cannot recommend Lord of the Rings/ Bob enough!! I had to order a brand new engine from Audi in Germany after my engine block overheated on Christmas Eve. Bob secured the best price for me and the engine came in about a month. Bob quickly put the new engine in and fixed all of the downstream impacts of my engine overheating. Bob was very communicative, priced fairly, and gave me a lot of knowledge and recommendations. Lord of the Rings was truly my saving grace and they got me back in my car in less than two months!

Bob and his crew are friendly, no-nonsense people who know what they re doing. A friend recommended them for maintaining our 2015 Audi Q5 TDI. So far we ve needed oil changes, mileage checkups, and new brakes (at 90,000 miles not bad). Two things are clear from these visits: 1) they re be able to handle whatever comes with the aging car, and 2) they don t recommend needless work (i.e., Bob s an honest guy). Most highly recommended.

I picked up a used Audi Q7 from a local dealership which was maintained by Lord of the Rings by the prior owner and recently brought the vehicle in for its scheduled maintenance. Bob was incredibly informative and was eager to address questions/share what he knows about the vehicle. Audis and VWs are more complicated than most vehicles out there and it's important to work alongside someone who knows their stuff - LOTR is obviously that company. Pricing was reasonable compared to what the local Audi dealership would have charged me and turnaround time was fast. I'll be happy to support Lord of the Rings as my Audi requires maintenance and service going forward. Highly recommended - thank you!

Bob over at Lord of the Rings was phenomenal! I bought my 2015 Audi s3 used back in March this year and it was due for its 65k service. On top of that it had a few other mechanical items that needed to be taken care of as well. He was super knowledgeable and took his time walking me through every line item with great detail. I have some additional parts that need to be replaced, so waiting on those to come in this next week to be taken care of. Overall price for their service is beyond fair!Also, if you re lucky, maybe you will get hooked up with some fresh home grown peppers from Bob s garden if he has an influx of them!Will definitely be returning for all of my future mechanical Audi needs.

Bob and the team at Lord of the Rings are true professionals and amazing at their craft. They were quick, honest in their assessment, and did not try to upsell like the official Audi Garage. I have never given a bad review before, because I am truly not someone who needs everyone to be nice to me 24/7 and I am never the customer who s out looking for issues, but something just isn't sitting right with how my experiences have been with the owner of LOTR. I am in DFW for a few months for work and drove all the way here from the east coast with my Audi. I needed work done and liked the name of this place, plus saw some good reviews, so I thought I'd try it out. I ended up going for service on my A4, and after feeling a bit shaky about the work that was done, relative to the sky-high price, I never said anything and just was happy my car was back in good shape. Plus, I agreed on the price before he did it, so no harm no foul. I moved on from that... despite the owner giving strange back handed compliments, being overbearingly sarcastic and just having an all-around uneasiness when speaking to me and others.Since then, I had contemplated going back to the shop twice when in need of service, but have been led to other shops due to the owner and his snarky attitude over the phone, as well as his high price in comparison to other shops. Whether on the phone, or in person, he always delivers sarcastic, half-responses to any question I send his way and genuinely seems disinterested in the convo - even though said convo involves me giving him $2200 of my hard-earned money.I gave 2 stars because despite his condescending attitude, I know the owner works hard, and the work done here is decent- price aside. However, when the owner literally tells me over the phone that You have now asked 4 questions and you re wasting my time when I have other customers in the shop to deal with , it rubs me the wrong way. Bob, if speaking to people any kind of way is your thing and has always gained you clients, good for you! But I really dislike the idea of you making customers feel stupid for asking questions to you, a supposed-to-be expert, about their vehicle. I have been on the receiving end of his rudeness 4 times too many, and I am not one to accept disrespect as the norm- especially when in the midst of the disrespect, you don't even answer my questions because you're too busy being condescending. It actually really sucks for me, because for this specific maintenance issue, he quoted me the cheapest price in the area! But I cannot stand to be disrespected when I was nothing but an inquiring customer to you.Edit:Below, the owner has responded stating that I misquoted him, but I have no reason to take time out of my very busy day and lie about what was said to me. If you said it the way you quoted below, we wouldn't be here now would we? Maybe you were having a bad day each time we spoke... but it sure seems your bad days align with when I call you to ask about my car. Bob and his techs are top notch. I brought my Audi in to investigate an oil leak. They repaired my car and had it back to me a few days later. My son notice some body damage the next day. I called Bob and he asked me to bring it in so they could take a look. Bob, his tech, and I looked at the damage and concluded it couldn't have happened at his shop. Even after reviewing the damage with Bob he still asked me to take it to a body shop down the street and send him the quote. A few days later, I found out the real source of the damage. I called Bob and told him the good news. I will never take my Audi anywhere else.Service: Engine repair

I deleted my original review because I was having a bad day and I'm particularly sensitive to perceived insults due to my mental health. I'm returning my car back to them for a proper diagnosis since I know that Volkswagen dealerships are trying to scam me for parts instead of repairing my issues. Thank you Bob for your response!

Full of personality Bob was such a pleasure to do business with. The atmosphere and sense of humor was second to none....I had such a laugh! They repaired my car and I am happy with it. Strange thought but I am actually looking forward to the next time my car breaks down so I can go back there.

I'm not sure who was running this business back in the mid 90's, but I thought I would tell my experience. I had a little black VW Fox at the time in my early twenties. One night, my car broke down and had to be towed to this shop. I was SO upset because there was no way for me to pay for the repairs. The owner, at the time, knew I could not pay. He gave me a copied set of instructions on how to change a carburator(?) and a payment plan for what his cost was of the part he ordered for me. I fixed my car myself thanks to him and learned a lot in the process. Hope he's still around... I will never forget his kindness.Service: Engine repair

If you want someone to give you honest advice and evaluation of what's going on with your VW, this is the only place you should take it. I was hearing a noise in my VW as the engine was under load, and assumed I had a boost leak. Testing I did didn't reveal anything, so I called a few places, and was given a flat rate to look at the car. I called here and was told "hey why don't you just bring it by in the morning, my technician can drive it around and we can get a better idea of what's going on before you have to do a bunch of testing". Who does that? Turned out that nothing was wrong with my car, and just a simple act of kindness saved me a load of money, and made me a customer for life. I'm not going to take my car anywhere else after this. Honest, straightforward, there's really nothing else you could ask for.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My experience was I paid 140.00 when I was told 70 supposedly they tied a fan which had nothing to do w diagnostic then I was told my wheels were damaged an said he could send them to get repaired for 160 a wheel , I go to discount tires an they said those wheels cannot b fixed.

I had a audi with a electrical issue, that was never found and I was charged around $800 to end up just changing my battery which was never the issue. My car died again two days later. Let's not mention my car was making a new noise after picking it up from the shop.I ended up having to take my car to another shop who found the true electrical issue that was draining my battery... which the issue was never a new battery.Lord of the rings pretty much just took my money and never found the issue and said it would cost thousands of more dollars to really find the issue. I wish I never took my car there.Service: Electrical

We have really appreciated his hard work, honesty and care that he invests each time we have had to visit. I have never found such a reliable mechanic who has his customers interests before his own. We highly recommend Bob and his team if you have a Volkswagen or Audi.

I have a 2014 Audi A7. Bob repaired the broken engine mounts. He did an excellent job! My car runs so smooth - like new! I will continue to take my car to him for any repairs. Their service is fast and they do excellent work. Very pleasant to deal with, and I highly recommend them!

I left a five star review last year, but I feel the work Bob and his team perform deserve more than just stars. Someone had posted about this shop on Reddit due to the clever name, and I was glad to see it was in the Dallas area. I've been going here since 2015, and Bob has done everything from changing windshield wipers to swapping out the transmission of my Audi S4. Definitely a mechanic you can trust!

I came in with my Audi S4 6MT today (7/20/16). I had an issue with the check engine and then the EPC light in the middle of nowhere on the TX, NM border. I called all 3 Dallas Audi dealerships yesterday, and 2/3 had me wait a week for an appointment and a loaner car. The other was able to get me in today, but made sure I knew there was going to be a $175 "diagnostic fee" just to plug the car into the computer. This rubbed me the wrong way.I called early this morning and explained my issue while Bob listened patiently. He had some suggestions, and said, "give me a call back after lunch and I can tell you what time to bring it in." I did that and met him and his daughter (receptionist) at 2pm. He plugged the car in and told me exactly what it was, and gave me my options. I paid under $50 for his time and very helpful advice.At this point the car drives beautifully, and I have a game plan in case the issue recurs. The peace of mind is invaluable, and I feel relieved that I know where to take my car for all my Audi needs in the future. Thank you Lord of the Rings.

I have a 2011 Audi Q5 with 180,000 miles. One of the main reasons I keep driving this car is that I know Lord of the Rings will take care of it. Bob has always been honest and doesn't try to sell services you don't need. If you own a Volkswagen or Audi, Bob's your man.

I had an amazing experience with Bob and his crew. I was visiting from Austin for a business day trip and my driver's side window would not come up. Ahead of me was a horrible rain storm. I pulled in and they had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes.Great atmosphere and I wholeheartedly would recommend Lord of the Rings. I know the car repair industry is full of sketchy people, but Bob and the guys (and gal) most definitely do not match that description.You would be doing yourself and your vehicle a disservice if you don't at least give them a shot.

Wow. First time going to Lord of the Rings. As a guy who does a lot of work on my Audi myself, Bob knows what he's talking about and will give you an honest opinion with a very in depth explanation as well as works with you in terms of what your goals are for your car (I have an older Audi). I was told my car needed thousands of dollars of work due to a failing suspension system from a different mechanic. Skeptical, I took it to Bob and said that it had a couple things here and there, but wouldn't replace it. Literally saved me thousands. He definitely earned my business long term and if you have an Audi I would absolutely be taking it here.

Bob and his technicians tackled a major job on my VW on very short notice. Every update about the fate of my turbocharger and injectors was prompt and complete. He'll be pleased to know that the GTI made it all the way to San Diego!

Just stop searching and go here already.I'm skeptical to the max on car repair stuff, I've gotten hosed before, but Bob was an incredibly professional, friendly and straightforward person to deal with.He spoke with clarity about what the issues were, answered every question I had and worked with me to get the best, most affordable solution.This is basically one of those fairytale autoshops that are one in a million. if you need work done on your VW, just go to bob, you won't be disappointed!also, bonus points for having a film-accurate full size cast of Han Solo in carbonite!

Bob and his team were recommended by close friends who have trusted Lord of the Rings for several years with their TTs and Jetta. My 2018 Passat is running as smooth as the day I bought it after Bob discovered the shimmy I felt was a bent wheel. Beyond warranty service, this is where I go now.

Total scam artists. Bob looked into my eyes and lied to me about needing a new transmission. In actuality, it was a $1000.00 repair and not a $5900.00 new transmission. Nice try, Bob. There are actually reputable shops with honest owners who are not trying to con their customers. V Dub Folks has gained a customer for life. So long LOTR.
