The apparel portion of this business is very poorly run. I placed my order in December but have not received it. Their customer service contact, Austin, does not respond to emails. When I finally did get a response after weeks of reaching out (now Jan. 12) , I was told it would be shipped that afternoon and they would be sending the shipping info to my email shortly. I never received a shipping confirm or my product, nor did the company issue a refund to me. I have continued to try to contact the company via email, but they do not have a public phone number available. As of 2/12 I have not received my order nor has the company replied to my emails.

A while back, I took my new-to-me 94 Land Cruiser here. Initially went in for a baseline and was very impressed/pleased with the thoroughness and professionalism. They found and quickly addressed a few issues and turned the job around quickly and right on estimate.This experience gave me confidence to have them do some modification work: OME lift, ARB bumpers, WK rock sliders, and winch. Excellent work no zero shimmy/vibrations at any speed after the lift. I put it through its paces for a few weeks on some Colorado 4x4 trails and the new suspension work was amazing.Can't recommend these guys enough for any LC work, mods, overland builds etc. Will be going back for more for sure.

Been eyeballing Black Dog for years and finally reached out. We had an amazing experience with Aaron. Found the perfect rig for us at a completely reasonable price (fj60 with LS1 V8 swap). Aaron went above and beyond, fixing several issues even after price had been agreed upon, making sure I could rely on the rig we got. Delivered truck and a week later we drove it 7 hours to the outer banks without a hitch. Would HIGHLY recommend going to Black Dog if you want a cruiser built right you can rely on.

I found Black Dog traders on the Internet on facebook. I was about to delete the ad, but decided to read the comments first. People had nothing but great things to say. So I bought this awesome hat. Got a bonus decal to go with it too. High quality item, fast shipping, and great customer service from Austin!

Must have gone out of business. We've been trying to get ahold of someone for weeks to redo our fj40 but can't get anyone to answer or return a phone call. Sweet website though

I contacted Black Dog Traders to talk about getting a restored FJ40 and found out that they also offer completely new vehicles not based on old parts, so I went that route. After going over options and specifications I left my deposit and the build progress began. Austin was great at sending updates and progress reports on the vehicle throughout the process. The final product is nothing short of a show stopper and turns heads wherever it goes. I'm extremely happy with the quality and will be ordering another version with a truck bed.

I can't recommend Black Dog Traders enough. The level of craftsmanship involved in these builds truly reflects itself in quality and detail. My truck was well worth the wait, and I knew as soon I hopped in for the first drive that I would own this for the rest of my life. Austin (the owner) was transparent and communicative with me every step of the way by sending me photos/videos of the build process, making changes on the fly per my request, and really just making himself available with any questions/concerns that would come up. I knew I could count on Black Dog to deliver me something unique and remarkable, and thats exactly what I received.

After an initially rocky start in June of 2021, Austin and his team have turned my experience around and I am a happy customer with a dope HDJ81.I can't recommend enough.It takes a lot to face criticism, admit when the process is/was flawed, and come to an agreement to make things better. That's a true testament to someone's character.

This is a great shop. Austin Peterson and his team moved their operation from South America to Texas and their trucks are gorgeous! Now working in the good old US of A! These truck are one of a kind works of moving art!!! Love seeing them on the road!Thank you Blackdog!

Went to the Black Dog shop a month ago and could not believe the level of quality. These guys invest so much time into the builds it is insane. Their shop is like a playground for adults! The trucks are beautiful. They run by appointments, so contact them first.

Scheduled a test drive on a first gen 4runner previously driven by the owner, Austin. As soon as I started out driving it, there was a loud, fast slapping noise on the roof from loose chrome trim around the windshield. The vehicle had very recently been painted and this could obviously damage the fresh paint so I immediately took it back to return to the tech. When Austin texted me later asking for feedback on the truck, I told him that I was unable to drive it and gave him the reason why. He then started making excuses saying it was fine when he drove it etc and it's not a big deal. Well, it is a big deal to me to have my time wasted to come downtown to test drive a vehicle that is not ready to be driven. Instead of a simple apology for my time wasted I just got more excuses and a snarky "how would I know that trim might come loose on a 40 year old vehicle?" I guess Austin only likes positive feedback when asked. This guy is super unprofessional and seems to be a jerk in general to potential customers.

Black dog traders and the crew that runs it is a very well coordinated, finely tuned machine. Their trucks are nothing short of one of a kind and it is easy to see how much love and patience goes into achieving the level of quality they hold as their standard.

I've known Austin for a long time. He has put his heart and soul into his brand and stands by his commitment to quality service and production value. This is a bespoke product company and well worth it for those who are avid overland enthusiasts.
