Jim and crew know what to do! Honest and fair. Isn t that what you want in a mechanic shop? Don t dare go to the big chain shops. I had a power steering hose get detached and they could have told me my pump needed replacing or my high pressure line or whatever else, but they didn t. They reattached it and flushed the system and got me back on the road. It cost so little I don t even want to say, and when I offered for them to keep the change they said nope.

Aaron is pure example of above and beyond.I trust Aaron with any car issue and that is because of the quality of his work, knowledge and personal care.I recently took my vehicle in to dealer for warranty covered work and felt unsure of what the dealership was telling me.So I reached out to Aaron and he took time out of personal time to explain what the other mechanic was referring to and helped me understand.When he didn t think I was being treated properly he called Acura support himself and asked the right questions to help me get the right answers.His help saved me over $8k and made me a lifetime customer for sure.When it is not required to go do the dealer for anything I would rather go here.If you ever need honest, friendly, competent, fair pricing and quality work done on your vehicle make sure to come here and ask for Aaron.

We've been using Jim for over 30 years, and he is the type of mechanic everyone dreams of having. He's honest, (wont suggest/perform work thats not needed) works quickly and thoroughly and his prices are reasonable. If youre looking to buy a new/used car, he will usually look it over free of charge, and all he asks is that you see him when its time to perform services needed. He's an anomaly among shops that try to take the average customer for a "ride" suggesting services that are unnecessary.Ever heard from a shop that your brake fluid is dirty and needs replacement? Ask Jim what he thinks.......Save $$$$, avoid shotty work, see Jim!!!

It s true, this man knows cars. Jim and his team are truly grand. They saved me from an issue that I was completely off about. He will be our go to moving forward. I highly recommend going to check them out at least once.

We have been so impressed with Advanced Auto Repair Services. We are from out of town, but upon a recommendation our college-student daughter took her car in several months ago. She was very nervous about going alone as this was her first time to handle a car issue while away at university without her parents help, but she was treated with kindness, honesty, and integrity. She was having a different issue with her car last week and once again they were very professional and honest. Great family-run business that we highly recommend!

I'm so happy that we were told by the friend of a friend about Advanced Auto Repair Services. It's been a long time since I felt like I could trust a car repair person or company. I've been fed off of many times by the industry in general, but not anymore. Jim runs a good shop and I can trust that what he says is true and accurate. His prices are no more than they need to be. It seems like the easiest thing in the world but so few do it. Say what you'll do. Do what you say. Back it up and be reasonable about how you charge for it. This is the only place we will ever take any of our cars. Now I just have to hope that Jim lives forever.

Jim runs an outstanding business here. Although they weren't able to tell me what exactly was wrong with my vehicle, Jim told me what it could possibly be and suggestions on the next steps to take. I understand his shop didn't have the necessary equipment to test what needed to be tested, but my car was still in his shop for a few hours and when I went to pay, Jim told me not to worry about it. Absolutely will be returning to this honest, outstanding shop.

Look no further than these guys if you want any car repair/servicing. Jim and his team are exceptional at what they do - and just overall great folks. Last year, my car had an overheating issue and was not road-worthy. I took it to their shop the day after. At that very same day, they we're able to determine the issue and got it fixed (water pump leak). They also did it at a fraction of a cost than to going to the dealership.Recently, I took a couple of used car to their shop and had them inspected for mechanical issues. It turned out that one of them had several issues that were less than obvious. The other got their all clear and I couldn't be more pleased with out purchase. They were not able to fix my car here but I wanted to give a good review. Having recently moved here it's hard to know where to go. I came here because of the good reviews and even though they couldn't fix my car I am so glad I came. All they had to do was take one look under my car to figure out the issue. They recommend where to go and even called the place to get a quote for me. I am so grateful for this easy process and kind people. I will definitely be back here if I have future car issues.I can't post a 2nd review but this is a year later and I'll never go anywhere else for my car in Dallas. Jim is the most trustworthy car repair man I've ever met. Come here over anywhere else. You won't regret it

Jim and his staff are the absolute best! They are super smart, totally honest, very accommodating, and affordably priced! They treat you like family. :-) I would not take my car anywhere else, and when I need a car service that Jim does not do, he promptly has a reliable person to recommend. On three occasions I have used the person that Jim recommended, and have been just as pleased in every case. God bless Jim and his staff!! :-)

I was referred by a friend to Jim and his repair shop in 1989, and from the first visit and each one after that I knew I had met the Gold Standard for auto repair work! Honest, reliable, dependable, and has absolute integrity. There is not enough space here for all the good things I could say, and 5 stars is definitely half the number they deserve. I moved away from Dallas in 2006 and have never found a comparable repair shop and owner, but I just can't drive 200 miles one-way for my auto repairs.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Battery

I've been going to Advanced Automotive for many years ...since about 2006. Jim is the best. He's honest and gets the job done correctly. Your worries are over ..having a used car is not a problem anymore.. just take it to Jim and he'll give you the whole story. ask any question you want he'll give you the straight honest answer. if he can't do it if it's Bodywork transmission or something that his shop doesn't handle. he will direct you to the best. I've always had good luck with any of the people he's recommended.

Jim and his team are top notch. I have been a loyal customer since the late 90s after two locations of another shop were unable to resolve an engine problem (that other shop was either dishonest or incompetent and had claimed it was a transmission problem). Jim quickly identified the problem and got it resolved. I moved to Frisco in 1998 and I still go ~30 miles to Jim b/c he has proven himself time and time again and I know I can trust him to give me wise counsel. He lays out the options without pressure so that I can decide whether to put the money into fixing a problem on an older vehicle vs. to start shopping for a replacement. I have referred a lot of friends to Advanced Automotive over the years and I always get great feedback from them, just as I expected because I know Jim can be trusted. I am a customer for life! I just can't believe I have not thought of leaving a review before!

We have taken our cars to Jim for years. He is very good as well as being very honest. We have had other people recommend work that needs to be done on the cars (oil change places), then taken the car to Jim and he says, after checking it, you don t need any of that stuff done, your car is fine. Now that s a stand up guy!

I could no longer go to Hondew which is in the same shopping center because I sold my Honda. They recommended I go see Jim and I'm glad I did. Jim and his two sons are passionate about cars and run a no nonsense business. I even had them do a custom alternator install which most shops refuse to touch.

Just called Jim 10 minutes ago to let him know my car is being towed to him. I have used AA for 10 years, Les was a family friend and that's how I found out about this place, and I'm so glad I did! I tell EVERYONE- and I mean that- to take their car here, Jim is a genuine good guy and awesome mechanic, he's looked cars over for me before purchase, he's looked at what I thought were problems and tell me honestly if something is or isn't wrong. I knew I had a good mechanic when I had an oil leak and was at O'rileys buying oil and the guy behind the counter asked if I had someone to take it to and I said yes Jim at advanced auto and he immediately said, oh yeah he's great. :) Thanks Jim- here's to another 10 years of business together!!

I travelled to Dallas from four hours away in order to purchase a used car. I do not have a mechanic in Dallas, and I needed a PPI / buyer's inspection with short notice before I bought the car. A scan of online reviews and several calls to check schedule and pricing led me to Advanced Auto Repair. Jim confirmed that the used car is under warranty, and based on his knowledge of that specific warranty he said his team would look at the car for structural issues, red flags, etc., but because it likely didn't need the much more detailed inspection he wouldn't charge me for it. As soon as I arrived, they drove it, looked it over, put it up on a lift, and inspected it. They spent twenty minutes checking it--which is much more than I expected from a spur-of-the-moment, quick inspection. They found a couple of issues that did not dissuade me from buying the car but did help me make sure I bought it at an appropriate price. They were kind, respectful, and generous with their time and expertise. If I ever have a mechanical problem while in the Dallas area, theirs is the first shop I will trust.

Mazda dealership lied to my ex about the repairs needed to her car, they quoted about $1500 in parts in labor to solve a small oil leak. Given the age and mileage (which was low) of the car they recommended looking into buying something else!I googled the issue on that make and model and found that it was generally resolved by a simple gasket replacement. So I asked around for a honest mechanic and a friend could not say enough about this place.I brought her car to them and, surprise surprise, the issue was exactly what I found on the forums. Total repair was 150$ total in parts and labor and was done in two days, most of which was waiting for the part to arrive.I will be taking all my future repair work here and will be recommending them to everyone I can.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was quoted $900+ from Reliable Chevrolet to replace my Equinox's EGR valve and spark plugs. Jim at Advanced Auto did the job for a third of that price and bought the parts from the deal. I've taken my car in to him since I've lived in Dallas. Every time he's very honest and charges you only for the services you need. I would highly recommended Jim to anyone who needs work done on their car.

I don't have enough good things to say about this place. Jim is a great mechanic and a great guy. He is honest and you'll feel like you are under-paying him for the work he does. If you work at TI, he will call the shuttle for you if you have to leave your car with him. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else.

We have used Advanced Auto for 24 years now and they always do outstanding work and their honesty, integrity and value is unmatched. We highly recommend Advanced Auto to everyone we know. We live in Allen and drive to their location in Dallas near the Texas Instruments campus because we know the repairs are done right. Advanced exceeded our expectations again today. I took my daughters 1999 Honda to McKinney for the dealer to perform the air recall work. After inspecting the vehicle the Honda Service Dept handed me a list of $3700.00 worth of recommended repairs - front brakes and rotors almost $900 and front axle for almost $800. There were a few other things on the list. I took the car to Advanced and they replaced the rotors, brakes, and axle for around $600. Great people, great work and very reasonable.

If you're looking for a mechanic with integrity - look no further! Advanced Auto was upfront an honest when I went to them for a second opinion about my alternator. For a company to turn away business really shows how honest they are. Even though I didn't end up getting my car serviced by them today, I will DEFINITELY be bringing my car back to them in the future. By turning away my business today, they have earned my business tomorrow :)

I'm not sure about the guy that wrote the negative review. Jim has been my mechanic for over 10 years. I refer all of my friends to him for domestic and japanese cars. His shop may not be as fancy as some others, but he is impeccably honest, does good work, and stands by his services. I've referred countless friends to him (including xshibux on this review thread), and none of them have ever come back with anything but great things to say. Jim is one in a million - and the reason he's so valuable is because it's so rare to find his qualities in a mechanic.

Highly recommend Advanced Auto Repair. Their prices are very reasonable. They are a no non-sense shop. They don't try to upsell. You tell them what you want or have them look at and they are very honest about it. I had my car looked at by Jim before buying and would do it again. I've even called him on the phone for recommendations and Jim was willing to give advice over the phone.

Absolutely amazing people! Extremely trustworthy. Southern hospitality at its absolute finest. I m from New York and was screwed over by a towing company. The owner and his worker genuinely lend me a helping hand and did their best to help me out. 10 out of 10 service and friendliness. Thank you!

Great honest mechanic. Called in morning when my truck temperature wasn t acting right. They got it right in, made the repairs and got it back to me same day at a very reasonable price. Will be be back for all my repairs.
