This is a beautiful place! Such a Gem near Waco! Look up the history of the park, it s really fun to learn about it before you go so you know what you re experiencing. We went there to do rock climbing and it was so fun! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because there was a lot of poison ivy encroaching the trail which is something that should be addressed. I know, it s Texas and there s poison ivy everywhere, but it s not a bad idea to treat it around the walking trails. Other than that, what a great place and fun experience!

Lovely place to visit in Crawford Texas. Restrooms available as well as a building/ gazebo with tables. Be careful if you have small kids as the cliffs doesn't have any barrier to protect them from falls.

Great little hidden spot with very low volumes of people, at least at this time of year. Restrooms are available on site, so you can make a day of it. Nice hiking along the creek, a beautiful waterfall, and fantastic bouldering spots for people of various skill levels.

$10 Parking gets split between the city and the organization enforcing the parking.A great swimming hole with many different spots for jumping into the water BUT be aware if it's been desert dry for about a month the water level may be low.I walked under the bridge where the falls comes out and around the most popular areas for jumping. Plenty of shady trees and bring some towls to dey off.

We lived in Crawford years ago. Came back to visit friends and walk down memory lane. Just as beautiful as I remembered.

This hidden gem had a beautiful waterfall that feeds into a cliff lined pool. A CCC style pavilion above the clouds looks down at the tranquil setting.

We went in the middle of August and it was completely dried up for the most part. It was still cool to check out and definitely would go back if I am in the area.

Tonkawa Falls located in Crawford, TX is a semi perennial, spring-fed waterfall that empties in to a small pond. During hot days, many people come here to swim and jump off the rocks. There are even nearby rock carvings a little further upstream from the waterfall. I'm not sure of history or the authenticity of said carvings, but I definitely recommend visiting if nearby.

The drought has really taken away the best feature of this place. The level of water is so low its not comfortable to even think of going for a swim, but we did see a turtle swimming. Still the adventure part of it is worth the site seeing. Beautiful rocks, stone staircase, wonderful to walk under the bridge where once water flowed. 01/2023

I have enjoyed Tonkawa since I was a kid. It has been well improved over the years.

We stopped by in the winter time (January) and it was a little chilly! We just walked around admiring the view! It was gorgeous to see! I hear that the locals love this place. There is a lot of signs that are posted with no swimming, but I am not sure if that s a winter time thing or what. We love it. If you have kids, make sure they re aware that there s Cliff-like ledges and steep fall risks. Overall Its totally worth going to and you won t regret it!

The 1st thing i noticed was that the rv park had alot of long term residence. Not very clean! Then we went to the so called swimming area. A sign said no swimming! We went down to the creek, very nasty, i see why there is no swimming. The creek needs a major cleaning. The only positive is the grass was mowed and has a small walking area. I bet it was nice when President Bush was in office, lmao.

The falls are weather dependent but it is an awesome place to take those special photos. Engagement, Prom, Sr pictures, etc. Just be sure to have some hiking shoes on to get down the rock steps. Well worth the trek!

Really great place. The river is colder than you would expect but the area is beautiful. There are some cave-like structures built into the surrounding rock formations and areas of shade and sun. The river is pretty shallow and you probably want to be careful where you cliff jump. Everytime I jumped off the cliff I hit the bottom (there are smaller cliffs to jump off as well). Hitting the bottom wasn't a problem, just know you'll have to absorb the power a bit.

Beautiful falls not too far from Waco. Also very nice caves. Water does not look like swimming. No public restrooms. Salamander lives here. Please keep it beautiful by not throwing trash. Saw some wildlife a turtle, ducks, daddy long legs and mosquitos. Bring bug spray if you like. No fish.

Went to the cliffs with my wife and family. They don't allow outside drinks or food but there's not anyone patrolling for that so you could probably get away with it. Tons of teenagers flock here so be prepared for that age of a crowd. Tons of fun, just be careful cause there are fish in the river, obviously, and they're not shy to people. Don't let them scare you!

This park is truly magical! So clean and so beautiful. A true Hidden Gem on the outskirt of Waco. Amazing place to bring your family! I've seen other comments saying that there were a lot of young teenagers but that was not my experience. It was an even mix of Ages young and old with only about 30 people at the whole park. We brought our service animal and she loved diving into the pool water swimming across to the cave sidewall. In fact we loved it so much we're going back tomorrow with family from Fort Worth.

This place is absolutely beautiful. Even when there is a bunch of people here it is still fun and never seems over crowded. They charge 10 dollars a car load on the weekend but if you go during the week it's free. It's a great place to take kids. I dont think pets are aloud but that's ok. It is still a bunch of fun and my family and I always have an amazing time.
