Shaffer's supposedly fixed the radiator in my Toyota Camry but it ended up failing after one month and only a few drives. Once it got out on the highway in Austin the car started rattling and the lights came on which led to a pretty dangerous situation as I was fighting traffic and making sure that my car would not stop in the middle of 290 in Austin. It was a very temporary fix and there was no guarantee or refund. The car also had less than 100K miles on it so should have lasted longer but the engine was totaled by the time I got it to the new mechanic. The manager or owner said it, "drove off his lot fine" but clearly at faster & higher temperatures it failed. I would avoid this place for major repairs in the future, the only positive is that they took my car in right away and communicated with me early on.

Needed a quick weld job on my catalytic converter air tube. Was helped by Mr. Joe Medina, who handled my car with great speed and even better service. Super-friendly folks. Would definitely use them again!

Just left Schaffers Muffler and I am very satisfied with the service. My muffler was making loud noises and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted and they looked at my vehicle right away. I was informed right away what was causing the sound. They took care of it in less than an hour and I was on my way. They are very professional and friendly. I would definitely take my vehicle here again.

I came in and got a quote from Jeff and Gary to cut and replace my exhaust from just behind the Cadillac converter all the way back. I provided them with my own muffler so it was basically just pipe after that. They did a awesome job and I d say I m happy with the price. I d recommend these guys for sure and if you guys are reading this thank you. The 4runner sounds 100 times better

Had about 3 days to move to Milton for flight school and needed a hitch installed on my crv asap. Though I had to go to Honda to get the parts quickly, Honda offered to install them in 5-7 hours for about $500-$700 for labor. I was talking to Shaffers the entire time and they said they could do it much faster and much cheaper. They got it done in about 3 hours for less than $200. The next day I got my uhaul trailer and had issues with turn indicator fuses. I called them up we were able to fix it with their help. Great service at a great cost.

This is the best automotive shop in Corpus. A while back I ran over a chunk of concrete on the beach in my 95 Trans Am, denting the exhaust underneath. It sounded funny after that. I took it to Shaffers and they had it fixed in 10 minutes at a super reasonable rate. Very happy. Now, my Mopar 11 broke a timing chain and bent valves. Lithia Dodge wanted $10,900 for a new engine. Shaffers fixed the engine in less than a week and modified the exhaust for me. It runs and sounds better than ever. Again, super reasonable. My mechanics for life. (I wonder if they do body work?)

They were very informative professional and quick. The technician was very precise about making sure the tail pipes were completely even I was standing there watching the whole time. He wouldn't give up until he felt it was just right. I really appreciate that he took such pride in his job but but more so to make sure I was happy. My Camaro is my baby and I try to make sure it always gets the best work done on it. I was very pleased with the job very well done. My car sounds awesome just the perfect sound. Definitely recommend this shop for the job well done.

Went in with an oil leak and I told them it may be a bad gasket. They ended up switching a sensor and charged me $462. Car still leaked, l went back and they said it was, of course, a bad gasket. They wanted to charge me another $400. No thanks. Save your money and learn how to fix things yourself.

*** Extremely disappointed ***My husband brought his truck here this week for help removing his old exhaust without causing damage to the sensors. When asked if they could do this they said yes, and they told him it'll be under $150.A few hours go by and we hadn't heard anything. So we decided to drop in and check out the progress. Turns out they broke the two sensors my husband was worried about. One they were able to fix, but not the other. Now we're stuck trying to find the part, and getting quotes of $300+ just for the part. They should've been honest from the beginning if they didn't feel they could do this without causing damage. That way we could've made an informed decision if we still wanted them to try or if we just wanted to do it ourselves. They ended up charging $175 and never discounted their work or offered to help reimburse for the damage they caused.I normally support small businesses, but not if this is how they do business.Avoid this place.Service: Exhaust

These guys are ABSOLUTELY GREAT. They have great service, very very affordable prices & their work is top notch.Recently had them work on my broken exhaust flex. Not only did they do an amazing job, they gave me a very great price. Quite frankly after checking the competition, I can say, there is no competition but this isn't just in price, it's in time and service as well. They were able to service my vehicle in a timely manner, with great results VS another shop that cost almost twice as much & would have taken extremely long compared. They followed all the protocols regarding COVID, gave speedy service & handled my car as if it were one of their's. I'm completely satisfied & would absolutely go back for the multitude of service's they offer.I highly recommend them.

Long story short, I took my truck in to get a problem fixed. $900 later it s still doing the same thing and they bent my front right tire cover. I had to take it back and all they did was drill a hole in the front right tire cover and ZIP TIED it to my frame. I absolutely do not recommend them and will never return.

Great fast friendly service, went in with a muffler tied to to the car and no bumper after hitting a curb, took them about an hour to fix, take off broken muffler replace with a new one for a reasonable price definitely a blessing while at the end of our family vacation and funds were low. Will recommend, hopefully not needing to go again but I know oIf we have car issues on vacation again this is where I will take our car!

Needed a skid plate to protect my catalytic converter. For an extremely fair price (jaw droppingly so), they manufactured, installed a skid plate and then even painted it & etched my VIN into the converter.I'm actually a pretty tough customer .. the kind who expects a sizable "bang" for my "buck(s)" ... and they more than delivered. I was almost in "happy' tears because the minute I walked in with my concerns, they educated, discussed, and treated me with the utmost professionalism.Family owned business, and it is telling! Forget the corporate businesses and support families like this who have the kind of business values one expects as a customer. Great folks!

As a woman unfortunately sometimes you are assumed clueless when it comes to cars, but everyone here has always listened to me and treated me with respect. Very friendly and super nice over the phone. They are accommodating and explain everything thoroughly. They have no problem giving you quotes and doing only what you ask for. Definitely recommend them!

Shaffers has done quite a bit of work for me they are excellent mechanics, good at diagnosing difficult to find mechanical issues. I felt like I got competitive estimates and the work didn't cost more than they said. I also really like the guys that work there.

Used to get my vehicle inspection done here and after like 2 years of dealing with that rude guy that works in front, I decided to go somewhere else. Most places won t charge if your vehicle fails inspection. This place does. You would think that guy up front straight up hates business the way he talks to people. Haven t been back since. Go somewhere that appreciates your business.

I am a disabled Veteran living on a fixed income and went without the A/C in the truck for sometime and in South Texas that is not a good thing. Finally had saved up a little money and with my Doctors advice went to have the A/C fixed. I picked a shop that I have been familiar with since 1977 or 1978 When a wrecker service I worked for did the towing for this shop. Towed vehicles into their shop on and off for more than 15 years. I even carried their business cards and always recommended them when someone asked if I new a reputable shop.I took my 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT 4 door with the V8 engine to them to get the A/C repaired. Talked with the people I know and explained the whole thing. Very little money, fixed income etc. They said they would take good care of me. When the estimate was done it was going to be around $1600.00. I did get 10% taken of as a Disabled Veteran that was a good thing. So I told them to go ahead and fix it. I was a little leery of the diagnoses and the price but the system had been down for some time and I know a little about A/C repair as I have done some in the past. But hey I know these guys they are friends I am going to trust that they know what they are doing and they are being fair with me. They fixed the A/C and all I had to do was bring it back once so they could do something to an air door that was not working right. They did it and I told them it would be a little bit but I would bring the Chevy Aveo in as it's A/C was out as well. Things were good or so I thought. Read on!When I took the Aveo in I told them that it had been working as my son had ought one of those cans of Freon and adapters to fill the system at Wal-Mart and the A/C would work for a while before it would quit again, so I figured it had a little leak. They said they would look at it and let me know. I told them I cannot afford another $1600 dollar JOB as I really did not have much savings let at all after paying them to fix the Dodge. When they called to let me know how much it was going to be the first thing that I was asked is if I was sitting down? That right there told me that I was not going to be able to get the cars A/C fixed. Good thing I was actually laying down as he told me that it was the same thing basically the whole system needed to be replaced and it was going to be $1200 dollars. I told him that there was NO way that I could do that kind of price. He told me I could come and pick up the car no charge for the estimate as I was a good customer REALLY I thought!!! don't worry it gets better read onI took the Aveo to a different mechanic that I know and asked him to look at it and tell me what was wrong and how much to fix it. I told him what Shaffer's had said and how much they wanted to do the job and he said he would check it out and get back with me. He called me the next day and told me that the only thing bad was the expansion valve. That's it nothing else whatsoever. And that he had already fixed it so I asked him to repair the rear door handle which I already had the replacement in the car. He agreed to and did so. With parts and all total was less than $200.00 Total before taxes!!!My concern is that if Shaffer's wanted to replace my system for $1200 and the only thing that needed fixed was the expansion valve. HOW BAD DID THEY SCREW ME ON THE $1600 JOB THEY DID ON THE DAKOTA??? The problem is that I will never know because it has already been done and there is no way to find out. I am glad that they only screwed me on the one vehicle and were not allowed to take advantage of me on the second. If they treat someone they have known for so long and someone who over the years has sent them a lot of business how do they treat others?

bad customer service. Trys to take advantage of customers inexperience.had a muffler put on that I brought in. all went great. We return 20 mins later after not getting the sound we wanted from the new muffler. asked about removing the resonator, and was suggested we put an exhaust tip on to get more sound. We agreed we could try it and if didn't work then remove the resonator. I asked why they were going to cut the strait pipe to put the exhaust tip on and the front counter guy didn't like me asking and I was told that he can't help us then. and kept telling us he did this for 40 years.I asked a simple question and was told he can't help. very bad customer service.will not return!!!

Wish I could give zero stars. Dropped my truck off here for an exhaust leak. Unfortunately my command went on detachment for two months and I was out of town. They told me I needed manifolds. I approved the work and picked the truck up the day I got home. Tried opening the drivers side door and the fender was bent so bad that I couldn t get the door open. Wasn t like that when I dropped it off. Had to climb in the passenger side. When I finally hopped in the drivers seat the ignition guide was broken off and laying in my cup holder for me to fix I guess. Wasn t like that when I dropped it off. Started the truck and drove it off the lot and the exhaust leak was as bad if not worse than it was before. Felt like the truck was running without a turbo. Took it to a REPUTABLE diesel shop and had them look at it. They had to replace the up pipes which were supposed to be replaced with the manifolds which I asked Schaffer s to replace with the manifolds. They also had to weld shut the HOLE in the cylinder head from Schaeffer s torch when they were struggling to get the manifold off. Of course, Schaffer s never mentioned that. Took the truck back to have them at the very least fix the door so I didn t have to climb over the passenger seat, they claimed to not know how that happened. On top of all this, they charged me the same price as the diesel shop to destroy my truck while replacing the manifolds and not solving the exhaust leak problem vs. fixing the hole in the cylinder head, replacing the up pipes, and unf*cking my truck from Shaffer s. This place takes advantage of their customers, disrespects military members, and is expensive compared to other businesses. Stay away.
