Took a whole year to get the car back, nothing fixed , dereliction of what was expected, we've had tougher without , much worse than, and paid over five hundred dollars. Had to sell car for three hundred dollars. Then lose more.

Make sure what price they give you get it in writing because when the work is done the bill is much higher and also make sure you have a backup vehicle because you will need for the amount of time it will take with all the excuses you will be given for why it's not done yet

Horrible experience. My sister had her transmission fixed here and had to return it twice due to leaking fluid. The second time they promised the car would be returned the same day. It wasn't. After 3 days of ignoring her calls and texts, the car was in her driveway when she got home from work. No call no text. Terrible customer service. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. Cheaper price doesn't mean quality service. It has been a total of a month dealing with these people.*Oh...and it is still leaking.

I went here because of yhe great long standing reputation. I guess that great reputation was earned by the last generation. This Johnston generation knows nothing about customer service, or the basics of automotive service. Still trying to get my $ back!!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

I wish I had read these reviews before I took my car to them! I took my car to this guy in August he said it could be done in a week. It took me three weeks to get it back! I drove it to work one night and when I went out on break found that it would not shift and the car would not even start! He came and picked it up after 2 days another couple of weeks to get it back. Has not driven right since then. Here we are in January and he has it because it kept clunking as it changed gears. Then he calls me up on Saturday afternoon and wants me to come up with more money. This from a place that didn't let me know that he takes credit cards until my car was taken apart! DO NOT USE!!

DANGER! If your vehicle is important to you, do NOT take it here.Alex ducked our calls and in-person visits for three weeks while we tried to find out information about my husband's truck. Broken contracts and broken promises. He said it would be done in a few days.When he finally returned it, we promised a decent review if at least the transmission was fixed properly.It's still broken. Avoid this shop!

Thief stole almost$2000. Gave him money in October. Come January he still hasn't touched our car. Said he bought a transmission but couldn't show me the transmission or reciept, but doesn't have our money. Yes we have a reciept from him giving him the deposit. After having to get another company tow it off his lot he still won't give back the money we gave him.

I went with my boss to drop off a 1999 ford ranger to have a rebuilt transmission put in on 6/5/18 paid in full at time of drop off. When we picked up the vehicle it worked for almost two week (14 days) then it just gave out on the way to run errands in corpus. It has a 12 mo or 12-k mi warranty. We ( my boss and I) took the vehicle back on 6/18/18 with the promise of it being ready after 3days. It is now 7/6/18 and Johnston's has now promised to have it ready by tomorrow 7/7/18. My boss is not taking this lightly and after reading 11 different reviews all stating the same issues with this company, has decided if the vehicle is not ready tomorrow will be taking legal action in this matter. I recommend NO ONE use this shop (if you can call it that) if you value your vehicle, time, and money. You will waste all 3 here.

Don't ever go to this mechanic. I believe he did something very bad to the car. The car is not at all fixed. They just take the cars showing that they know the problem. They do nothing except keeping the car at the garage. They don't pick the calls, says some bullshit stories and keep delaying. Gave my car after two weeks although they said they are gonna give the car very next day. They are just making money by deceiving people. They are crooked, not authorized. Don't take card payments which shows that they are thief's.

Worse transmission shop in corpus it took over a month to fix the truck.kept on lying on when it was going to be ready. We got a parking ticket in the mail by ccpd while it was being fixed.kept on calling he needed more money to fix the transmission. Worse experience ever

Payed 800 and transmission is worse hebad service I should of read reviews b4 do not take your car he is not even a mechanic

If I can give them zero Stars I would very disrespectful not true to their word and after they mess up they are very untrustworthy people, please beware of these low lifes.

These individuals are shady as hell. Extremely poor service and they shortcut everything. my cars still not shifting right. THEY SUCK!!!!!
