I just made my first, but not last, visit to the excellent Milstead Service Center in Conroe. From start to finish it was an positive experience. My car was taken care of promptly while I waited. The modern shop is visible from the reception area and is showroom clean. A customer can observe the busy competent technicians and imagine they are whistling while they work.

Don t ever go here. ever. One of the worst experiences i ve ever had for mechanical work. i brought my car in 3 times just for a coolant leak repair, to which i spent 1600$ just for them to not fix the problem whatsoever. they claimed they fixed the temperature housing unit, they didn t. i had to make calls to my bank for hours to dispute the 1600$ they used to fix my car. i took it to a local shop and they fixed everything these people could for 200$. it s pathetic how i paid them so much just for my car to sit broken in their shop. i guess people at Milstead just care about money at this point. Everyone i know that goes there has a terrible experience. i just warn everyone to not waste your time here.

Very good service. Easy to get an appointment they got me in and gave me a decent price on my tires & an oil change for my RV. They got it done in 1 day. They have a very nice waiting room with comfortable couches a fancy coffee machine and free water bottles. Thank you to John and his team.

I'm not rich but fortunate enough to own a nice Class C RV Sprinter. So a $596 repair bill does not break the bank.I took my RV in for winterization and was told that I had a bad water leak and was asked if they wanted me to look into it. OK. They reported back that they thought it was likely the hot water heater and it would be about $475 labor plus the heater that was in excess of $1000. I asked to hold off.I had a chance to de-winterize and discovered what had happened. Apparently the tech had hooked up the water to the black water tank flush. There is a valve on the opposite side of the panel and under the carriage, almost hidden. If not pulled and water is put into the tank, it overflows from the toilet into the cabin. Apparently that is what happened. When I de-winterization I filled and emptied all the tanks, ran the hot water heater, etc. No leak. When confronted with this incident, management refused to accept that the tech with years of experience, may have made a mistake, hooked to the wrong inlet, and didn't discover the hidden pull. After much back and forth with management it came to an insinuation that how do we know you didn't have it fixed and now trying to collect the payment.1. They caused a problem and ended up saying they couldn't winterize it. $3392. They misdiagnosed the problem they caused and said I needed a hot water heater... not. $2253. Thank goodness I didn't authorize fixing something not broken. $1500Bad judgement that for $600 they would lose a customer and good public relations.

Recently got our tires replaced and inspection on our motorhome. Great staff and service. We had to stay 1 night and they were very accommodating. We were hooked up to water and electricity for the night. This is the only place I trust to take care of RV. Thank you.

Short: shop agreed to refund, "Card machine doesn't work it will be processed in a day or two" I left. They called back and said we changed our minds.EDIT: I returned and was given a bill for 580$ diagnostic work, I discussed this with John and after about ten minutes of him acting like I was the most annoying person in the world, we agreed that the simple diagnostics I was given didn't actually require the two hours I was charged for. giving that I left specific instruction with the vehicle and clarified these an additional time when they called. He attempted to run my refund on the machine but told me there was a problem with it so he would send the refund to accounting. Two hours later I received a call from John stating that they listened to recording of our calls and determined that I had NOT authorized two hours of work, only one potential hour and they would not be issuing a refund as was previously agreed. John recognized that they were not following through on what they agreed to and told me there was nothing they could do. ORIGINAL: After a recent bad experience with a shop I went to these guys knowing that they were a family business that's been around a while, tech was super friendly, and she gave me a rough but accur

While they offer exceptional customer service, their pricing is considerably higher than the alternatives I considered. I ended up going with another company that offered the same service for about 30% less money.

Shame on Milstead. I had my a/c coils cleaned, and so now a/c doesn't work. I had my water pump screen reattached, now water pump doesn't work. This place charged me an exorbitant amount of money and now I need to spend more money to fix what they caused. In response to your response, I had my a/c coils cleaned, the facia on the slide fixed, the water pump screen fixed and the footboard of the couch fixed. You had the rv in service for two weeks and I was charged $699. There were other items I asked for a quote for that I declined because the prices were so high. So no, I this was not just in for diagnostics. I was also told by Matt that my roof needed resealing (which was supposedly already done by Milstead last year) / Thurman. When I took it to another repair company, they stated no seal was done.

Milstead is the only place in the Conroe/Woodlands area that can do a proper front-end alignment on our E-350 Class C motorhome. I appreciate that they perform this alignment properly, making the RV drive straight as an arrow. I also appreciate the complementary ride to/from our RV storage facility. Thanks once again for a job well done!

This is a tough review to write on Friday my father died unexpectedly. He and my mother were moving from California to Arkansas. I was asked to drive from Texas to pick up my mom and get her to Arkansas. My rig was due for service and I knew wait times were long at all places for service. John from millstead made my day much easier. They saw me right away. Thank you for making my day easier in a tough time. I am grateful.Service: Auto maintenance

Prompt and great service. I hadn't ask for it but they inflated all of my 6 tires, which can be a bit dificult for an owner. Fair price on top of all that.

Competency and repair quality is second to none. But there is a cost, right?! Milstead is now $191 per shop hour and parts are marked up over 100% of what you would pay retail. This is higher than the local Chevrolet Dealership ($155/hour) and their markup is less than 25%. I give them 5 stars as I think you can not go wrong with their service but it is very important, in today's day and age, that you know what you are paying for. I want to support the local small business but as some point, loyalty feels like you are getting taken advantage of.

Took my 2018 Dodge Durango to local dealership in Conroe, TX for an oil change and they found my rear shocks needed to be replaced. They quoted me over $2k I went STRAIGHT to Milstead Service Center and they not only did the job for under $1k, but they replacement shocks are twice as good as the OEM shocks. Service was completed the same day, and the work is excellent! The service managers in the lobby are all so helpful and attentive. I worked with John for this repair and he called me twice to keep me informed of the progress. I will get my maintenance and repair work done here for all my vehicles from now on!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Steering & suspension replacement, Auto maintenance

Absolutely incredible service. We are full time travelers way far from home and had an axle break. They were able to get us in and out in a week and really accommodated our needs and urgency, knowing the hotel bills we'd accrue. John was my rep and he was extremely insightful, honest, and pleasant. 10/10 would easily trust them with my RV again.

One of the best mechanic shops I've ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with. No wonder they've been a successful business for over 20 years. You never want to have to call about getting your car worked on, but when you call Milstead to get a quote or to ask a question, you'll always speak to someone who is knowledgeable and get the fairest of prices in a field where most companies love to hike the price. You won't regret going to this place!

The crew that works here was very nice so my following comments are not directed at them personally. But I will place the blame on the owner/manager. I have an extended car warranty that I found this location through. I was told to go on a website called repairpal and look them up embarking appointment directly through repairpals website. I received attached confirmation and an email confirmation regarding my appointment the next day for 9 a.m. my air conditioning went in my car during hundred degree weather here in Texas with me being permanently disabled the situation is a big deal to me. I showed up right before 9 a.m. for my appointment. Upon checking in at the front desk I was told I did not have an appointment and that they haven't used to repairpal in years! Because they have not updated their info on repair pals website, they never received notice of my upcoming appt. But the nice gentleman there named John said he would take care of me. I left my car with him he told me he would run the diagnostic and contact my warranty company and call me when he had the diagnostic done. This particular location advertisers loaner cars free of charge. THAT TURNED OUT NOT TO BE TRUE EITHER AND THERE WAS NO LOANER CAR AVAILABLE. I live in a very rural community the nearest store is at least 10 miles away. I told them I have no other car in my family at all. I was told there's nothing they can do. After hearing nothing for a day afterwards I called and they still have not diagnosed my truck. I was told someone would call me, no one did. They ended up having my truck for a week before they even looked at it!!! Just left me high and dry and stranded I missed several doctors for myself and my elderly mother and we couldn't go to the store to get food drinks or anything. Then I had a phone call and was told that my warranty company wasn't going to cover the repair and I had to pay the diagnostic charge of $179. I collect social security disability and get one small check per month. They don't offer in-house financing or anything and I don't qualify even if they did. So I basically went an entire week without any answers and without my truck, missed appointments, ended up having to pay out-of-pocket, and still have no air conditioning. I know the warranty part is not their fault but the lack of communication and making me wait a week is unacceptable. Plus the whole thing with the appointment... Not a good way to treat your customers. Do better milstead! The owner needs to step up and fix these problems. The only saving grace was the staff was very friendly and courteous.

I have used Milstead twice in the past without issue. This last time I used them was pure nightmare. I called on a thurs. and asked to get an appointment so as to not have to be without my truck for longer than necessary. I was told that they couldn't look at it the next day, so bring it in mon.I brought in in mon. and was told they would assign a technician the next day..small thing, but my truck was going to sit for no reason for a whole day. TuesI got an email with their 30 point inspection results. Under, " needs immediate attention" was removing the old power steering fluid and replacing it. I told them that a few months earlier they had replaced the entire power steering pump and hoses and felt sure all the fluid was already replaced. The response, " oh, I should have looked at the history. I was also told my radiator hoses need to be replaced. I said it's a new radiator hose that I put on 6 mo. ago and it's fine. No response. I was told 3 different times that Stacey would talk to the technician and I would be called back with information, I was once told, "I promise to call you back before I get off work"..never happened. I waited until Wed. afternoon to call them one more time to find out what is going on. I was told that a difference person,(not Mike), had taken over and, " was putting together the estimate right now and would call me in a bit"...didn't happen. I called thurs. morning told them I just want my truck back. The fellow I talked to that day was polite and professional. I went to get in my truck to find the hood not latched, then I drove out of the parking lot headed down the highway and heard strange whining noise and then severe vibration as I hit 50 mph.. I pulled over and found my truck was in 4 wheel drive! ......vindictive technichian? I don't know, but odd that 2 diiferent things were not right. This place has changed, I recommend that they be avoided if possible. I now need to review Milsteads response. When I first called, I asked for Mike, and was told that Mike Miller now works in towing, not as a service rep.. I was directed to Stacey. "She" was my service rep. As for the fuel tank, Milstead originally suggested a tank repair, not replacement that didn't work (still leaked, not their fault). Mike and I agreed that I would purchase a tank, and Milstead would provide the labor. Mike called shortly thereafter with a site to order from. I bought the fuel tank and brought it to them for installation. As far as " not talking to them directly", I stood there in their reception area telling a service rep. just what was written in my review when I picked up my truck, and called them from the road about the hood and 4wheel drive being engaged. REALLY Milstead!Sad, Milsteads response to my review is reason enough not use them.

We did and oil change, and a check of one of the tires on the motorhome. These guys are great. They let me know how the work was coming along. They finished it in a timely manner I thought. This business has never let me down on the service.

My recently widowed mother In law had the A/C go out on my Range Rover that she has been borrowing. I live in Tulsa she lives in Conroe. I directed her to get a diagnostic done on it to see if it was a simple problem. The charged her $159 dollar diagnostic fee then a quote for $5000 to replace the entire A/c system. I didn t believe a car with only 70,000 miles would need an ac so I directed her to drive the car with no A/c all the way to Tulsa. When she arrived the first thing I noticed was missing hardware on the vehicle that they failed to replace. Next thing I noticed was the wire to the coil was loose so I snapped it down and low and behold cold air. So I called Them and spoke to the manager named Ben who did nothing but lie to me about what they had done I was also laughed at by the service manager Matt who claimed I couldn t prove it. I wasn t going to write this review if they would have just made it right but they stuck to their lies and were awful to deal with. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone unless you like getting ripped off.
