We have trusted Conroe s Choice Automotive with all of our vehicles for the past 20 years. They were always right the first time in diagnosing and fixing issues, whether on my husband s various Ford F-150 s or on my various imports. As always, they repaired my Jaguar and Land Rover after giving practical options (use Ford parts?) and pricing (and timing). They also gave great advice on when to start thinking about replacing our cars with newer models. They are quick and very professional. THE BEST mechanics we have ever found!

Found them searching for suspension repair in area. Read previous reviews, then brought my light truck in. Very pleased with service and rate to install two new front struts. Thought I had bad wheel-hub assembly, but they assured me it was only the old tires. Replaced tires and wobble cleared. Saved me hundreds! Good Job!

We will file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau and we'll file a small claims court law suit against these guys. They completed repairs without our consents, when we wanted to take the car to another place they said we were responsible for 3 hours diagnostic that cost over 300$ and another 200 to fix something we did not consent to. According to them the more incompetent they are in finding the problem with the car the more money we have to pay them lol. In the end they offered to actually fix the main issue for 800$ which we will be disputing in court. Great guys though, nice and friendly thieves.

I called to ask Gene if he could get a part for my folks because they're there on vacation and their car broke down. Not only did he help check on the part, but informed me that it probably isn't the problem and continued to call my father and assist him! If I didn't live 400 miles away I'd definitely take him a thank you card and some cookies for being so kind!

One word comes to mind with my experience taking my car to Gene (owner) and Conroe s Choice Automotive and that s INTEGRITY! They treated and serviced my car as if it was there very own, and I m extremely appreciative. They were very honest and they didn t want me to take my car after it was done unless I was 100% satisfied with their work. Thank you Gene and Conroe s Choice Automotive. I had hope for this place when I saw the reviews. I also had my fingers crossed because I wanted Genn to look into my vehicle. He wasn't there yet but I didn't worry because the reviews were great!I got a diagnostic on Friday Oct. 13th to see why my vehicle keeps stopping while driving. They notified me that it was a simple fix (positive terminal loose) and then mentioned another issue that I did not come in there for. I got it fixed since I was already there and I trusted their judgement. My check engine light came back on the very next day and my van stopped while I was driving on the highway 2 or 3 days later. I was no longer in town by then so I had to wait to return. I arrived Oct 20th to get it looked at again and was notified I would have to leave it over the weekend. I'm not from Conroe and don't know anyone there so I can't do that so I left. I went back for a full or partial refund since none of my issues were fixed and I needed to go somewhere else. The manager Austin had a smart mouth. I mentioned that I tried to come as soon as possible and Austins reply was "Well you didn't get here as soon as possible" That smart remark didn't sit right with me and I continued to request a refund or to speak with the owner Genn. I was then told to calm down multiple times. I asked for documentation that was supposed to show me what the mechanics checked during the one hour diagnostic. Austin notified me that it was on the paper he gave me the day I got the diagnostic. I asked him to print me out another one. We went back and forth again and then I asked for the paper again and the owners information to call. He placed the paper on the counter and said "boom!". I sarcastically said thanks and he then says "See the attitude". I mentioned how his "boom" was unnecessary. He did all of that but the paper does not tell me ANYTHING about what the mechanics checked during the diagnostic. Absolutely nothing. I now have to go to another mechanic just to find out why my vehicle keeps stopping WHILE I am driving. This is very dangerous and they wasted my time.

Just giving Conroe a heads up,that's there's still a automotive shop you can trust with hometown roots,they diagnosed my Chevy Silverado ltz 4wheel Dr and fixed my ac and found a broken motor mount, reasonable rates and very professional,had me up and going in less than 34 hours, thanks Gene and company,

Took my Dodge Challenger HEMI to this shop. Great service manager, very nice and good work done by their very qualified mechanic Jim. Couldn't be more happy about it. I recommend this shop over any other shop in the Conroe TX. area. Thanks

Gene is absolutely fantastic. He's overworked and underpaid, but he is now my go to guy for anything I need. Not only was he quick with my engine swap, but he kept me updated throughout the process, and always answered my call. Definitely worth going to this place. Very nice people and price was much less than other shops in the area for exact same work. My truck was in and out of the shop same day and after the tune-up my truck runs like a champ. It has 385k miles and they made it run like it was brand new. Very happy with this bunch!!

I have been here twice , these guys are the absolute best . They are reasonably priced , fair , and honest . They always get me in and out within the day . I will never use another shop for the work that needs to be done on my truck . Great job guys !!!

Brought out VW to them, they kept it for almost 3 weeks then told us the part "they think will fix the problem" is on backorder so we needed to pay the $236 and bring it back when part comes in. We found the part at 5 different business within minutes of being told this information. Picked up the car and took it to Intercontinental Auto Parts on Main St. and they had it repaired and ready to go for almost the same cost by the next day. Very disappointing. Do not recommend.Service: General repairs & maintenance

If I could I would give this place 10 stars. I m a commercial truck driver. My truck broke down and I crawled my way down to this shop at 5:30PM Friday. At first they didn t want to work on my truck until the next morning ( which was also a blessing). But I told them I m from out of town and I m riding through Conroe and I have to get to my destination (California) for delivery ASAP. They accepted my plea and immediately began working on my truck. In my 4 years of driving, I ve never met mechanics as nice as they are. I don t live far from Conroe but I m willing to drive a couple hours to give them my business for life. I didn t catch the owners name, which I will later. But everyone there were just extremely nice and cordial. Although my truck broke down. They immediately told me what the problem was just by explaining the symptoms. (Other mechanic shops completely misdiagnosed the issue). Oh and by the way multiple other issues came out when they took apart the wheel. Sensors, brakes caliper brackets and they didn t charge me extra for that repair. (Because they had to take off that part anyways. And I ve been broke down on the road before. Believe you me others have and will charge to extra for anything.) GOD BLESS THEM!!!

They were rude and seemed bothered by my questions. I was there to have a device installed on my car. I needed a new battery in order for it to work. They were less than helpful. I changed my service location after that. Today I called to ask a question and they answered and hung the phone up 3 times. This is a family owned business and I m glad they aren t my family because I would be ashamed of the way they treat people.Service: General repairs & maintenance

If you want to deal with an honest buisness owner that takes pride in their work then this is the place to go. Gene went above and beyond to complete my truck as if it was his own. He had a ton of work to do on it and came out better than I expected. He takes pride in his work and his end product shows it. Very hard to find in the world today. I ll send more work his way and look forward to doing buisness with him in the future.

I'm honestly in disbelief over the one star reviews and calling Gene out by name. He actually went above customer service and drove me and my infant son home cause the repairs being made were gonna take over 3 hours. We've been coming here for years over various thing that comes up when a car gets old and they've always had fair pricing and great customer service with free estimates and options. They have always been able to speak to me on my level when my face starts to look lost on something that needs to be done and how to repair it. They're has been a time or two we've had to come in with a specific budget before they even looked at what was wrong and they have ALWAYS been able to work with us. They also gaurantee their work!

If I could give zero stars I would!!!!! They charged me $108 plus tax for a transmission diagnostics to drive my truck down the road and tell me the same thing I told them when I dropped it off. It s stuck in 4th gear and I gave them the code that auto zone gave me. They kept my truck for 2 days and I got nothing not any more info to help fix the problem then I already knew. They looked up the code P0750 online and told me the same thing google told me. I shouldn t have paid them 1 cent but I was just ready to go. Don t go here if your vehicle needs a diagnosis. They jump right to you need a rebuilt transmission. $2800-$4800 anyway to make money. Called a few other transmission shops in the area and they don t charge to diagnose. Guess I should have done my homework first and called around. Total rip-off if you ask me. DONT GO HERE IF YOU NEED A DIAGNOSIS call around first multiple places offer it for FREE!!!!

Keri, the owner is unbelievably, AMAZING!Hands down the best customer service I've seen in years! I had an appt with them, but ended up stuck in traffic. By the time I made it there, it was past their business hours and technically they were closed. Keri, told me not to stress, they would still help me and she was so polite and you'd have never known, she was there on her time off. She previously has also took it upon herself to get in touch with a product manufacturer, for me, when it had NOTHING to do with her shop! Was completely not her problem or anything I got from her shop! I was getting the run around and when she heard what I was dealing with, she took me in her office and made some calls herself, and got my problem resolved SAME day! And for that, I will always give my business to Conroe Choice Automotive!!Thank you again Keri!

I took my car in fearing the worst. They were very professional & assured me that they would do everything to help identify the problem. Gene the owner let me know what he felt was the issue & gave me an estimate. When I went to pickup the car they had found another issue & fixed it along with the original problem. It was only a few dollars more & Gene let me know that if I had any further issues in the next week to bring my car back & he would look at it free of charge. My car is running fantastic since they worked on it & I will be bring my car back for any future issues. I recommend them to anyone in the Conroe area.

I definitely recommend this shop if you want good, honest work. After being duped from another mechanic I came here and Gene and his crew corrected the problem. He was honest and didn't try to beat me out of more money than necessary. I will definitely be back if needed. Thanks Gene!

Bad customer service, no one except Gene knew any info when you would call and check on vehicle. Said they would call you back at a certain time or day and they never did. Never did any actual work on vehicle but one thing, just waited for the insurance payout

Gene is the GREATEST mechanic I've ever known. We've used Conroe's Choice for almost 2 decades, and he and his crew never disappoint, always fix the problem, and don't toss in unnecessary repairs. Sometimes there's a wait, but that's only because they have a ton of customers who trust them, so there's hardly an empty bay. State inspections, oil changes, transmission and engine repairs, brake jobs, and part replacements - we've had them do it all.

My car light just went out and I needed it to be fixed before my trip, I took my car to Gene and he actually showed me where the problem was and also fixed it for me.He takes care of my family cars when I need them and he holds his team to the same standards of professionalism.Roger

Most honest repair shop we have been to in a long time. They have helped with several of our vehicles' issues. And these guys really know their stuff, like a common problem for an uncommon car. They seem to have all these car quirks memorized. They ask questions about your car and once told us NOT to get a $300 service because of the age of the vehicle and maintenance history. They said the flush would do more harm than good. The guys explain everything also. In two words: trustworthy and knowledgeable.

Conroe's Choice is my go-to automotive place. It's not some fancy jazzed-out joint where everything is pristine - but that stuff doesn't matter to me. The mechanics are honest, down to earth, reliable and affordable.Give them a try, I've used them for 3 or 4 different occasions.Services: Transmission, Battery

Great place to get your car repairs. They do a great job. The service is quick and they do not try to sell you on things you don't need. Pricing is just right. I feel like I'm paying what I should be paying for the repairs.
