First time here. Dropped my car off without an appointment and was told they may not be able to fix it that day. Told him I completely understand. But they were able to look at it and fix it same day. Everyone there is kind and professional. I had a great experience and will definitely be back

I wish I could give this place less than 1 star.I took my car here with an appointment on Thursday morning. I told them my issues 1. Leak under drivers side floorboard 2. Loud noise while driving at high rate of speed 3. A/C& heat not switching over from head to feet.I did not get a call until Saturday morning that it was my rear drivers side wheel bearing/hub. He quoted me $389 for the part and $175 for the labor. I inquired about the leak and A/C & heat issue, to which he replied I didn t have time to check all of that (even though you have had my car since Thursday). I told him ok, let me call my friend to make sure everything sounds good. To which he replied oh, I m not a crooked mechanic, I don t do that to people .Called my friend, he said those parts go for $160-$216 priced on the high end . So I call Codes back, to which he reply s oh, yeah I have to replace the whole assembly, including the spindle this is laziness. A true mechanic would take the hub off only and replace the hub. He was looking for a cheap/easy repair on my vehicle which left me pay $620. And only 1/3 problems fixed.Oh, yeah and should I mention that when I picked up my vehicle the alignment was messed up. So I immediately call him and report the issue, to which his response was oh, we are packing up about to head out for the day, you can bring it back Monday. I m sorry, but if this was my mechanic shop that had my name attached to it, I would not let a customer drive away with a problem and offer them to bring it back 2 days later.Poor customer service and lack of effort to fix a problem with your vehicle. Oh, and you will be just an inconvenience to them with your questions. I would recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.

I can always depend on Codes to do a great job with my vehicle.I get an exact estimate and that's what you pay.The only thing this time around it seemed like the price was steeper than what it has been in the past.They've always been very reasonable up to this point.

These guys are incredible! I took my Toyota Matrix in for a new a/c compressor--we were seeking quotes. I dropped it off before work and was able to pick it up ON MY LUNCH BREAK! They were fast, transparent about prices, and totally competitively-priced. I waited to complete a trip to and from New Bruanfels before writing this; I can confirm that it was a delicious ice-cycle in my car the entire time. I cannot recommend these guys enough, and I will call them first the next time my a/c needs some R&R.

This place is excellent! It was my first time here and didn t know what to expect. My A/C was not working and I was also having issues with my front suspension. I had taken it to several different places and they all replaced different parts in my suspension but never fixed the problem. My A/C is now blowing cold air and my suspension is finally fixed and I don t hear a loud noise when I turn anymore. I am very pleased and the customer service was great! Very friendly! I ve been doing business with Codes for 17 years, have had my fleet vehicles there, my personal vehicles there, my kids and friends vehicles there and have yet found anything to complain about.Codes owners are fair, honest, trustworthy people who honestly care about their Customers.I ve had everything from oil changes to rebuilt engines done there, with everything in between, and feel pricing is very reasonable. Codes has always stood behind their work.I m thankful for this Mom & Pop shop, especially because I have an alternative choice to the big dealerships.

I've taken my car to Code's auto twice so far. The first time was simply because it was the closest shop to home but the second time was because of my experience the first time. They did excellent work, on time, and frankly, undercharged me. I actually felt guilty. Manuel knows his stuff and that's why he has a steady flow of customers. Honest, fair mechanic. I would recommend them to anyone needing service.Once again this company has made my day. It's hard to find honest mechanics. At Codes that what you get. I love this company. As of yesterday 4/27/2023: I have used Codes Auto Service several times in the past 2 years. I put around 40,000 to 45,000 miles on my vehicle and work out of it all over the Houston Metropolitan Area. The husband and wife team at Codes Auto have been completely honest with me and always do the work for the price they have estimated. On one occasion they also gave warranty to a part that had a manufacturer s defect. These are hard working people working more hours than most people would consider. These reasons are why they are always busy. Their work has been above reproach and they treat people like we want to be treated. Give them your auto business and you will not be disappointed! 6 out of 5 stars if I could give them!11 months ago: These people were fantastic. I dropped the vehicle off in the morning and it was fixed by the evening. Their price was very reasonable and was exactly as quoted. Best part - my vehicle that I work out of 6 days a week blows cold air like it is new. I could not be happier. This was a few weeks back and it all still works great. I found this place in google while I was driving to my City (Dallas). The owner managed his workload to check my car and he was able to fix it in less than 1 hour. He is very savvy and honest as well as the team.Highly recommended.Thanks

This small locally owned mechanic shop is the absolute best. This local couple runs an honest business, will only fix what needs repairing, charges reasonable rates, and they do really quality work. I have used them for over 15 years. If my autos need work, this is where I take them. Note, they are always busy, so quick in and outs can be difficult. However, they will tell you how long it will be, they communicate costs before repairs begin, and they provide updates; and understand customer service. I highly recommend Codes Auto Repair.

Fantastic place for A/C repairs! Honest and pricing is very reasonable. I called about my wife s car on Wednesday and they said to drop it off Thursday for the diagnostic, he called me same day and told me it was the AC compressor and price. I gave the ok to do the work Thursday afternoon, the car was ready for pick up by Friday afternoon! The car blows freezing cold air! I waited at least a month to see how it went and give this review, I definitely recommend them!

Good shop. Well priced and good work. They seem pretty trustworthy. I've never had anyone try to hide anything from me or add on unnecessary work. I doubt I'll take my vehicle anywhere else. The building can be a bit hard to spot at first. It's right on the corner but I still know several people that have missed it. Including the tow truck driver. Have recommended this shop to several friends.

If you are looking for a shop to get your ac fixed in your truck or car I absolutely would recommend using them. Finally got my 06 Chevy Silverado all fixed up finally blowing cold air once again! Very surprised how quick they were able to install new parts was expecting to wait another hour since most places I ve gone too in California or Colorado always need to stay over night. Once again Thank you!

Rina was great getting me scheduled in on my schedule. Manuel got me in, diagnosed and quoted quickly as I had to wait because I needed vehicle to get to work. I believe price was fair considering I was in and out in 3 hours and I didn t have time to do myself. Would have been less time but I had to run and get some cash for repair. Overall a very good experience.

Very bad customer service! Will not do business with these people ever again. Took my car in and when I got it on Friday the A/C was working and by Sunday the A/C had stopped working again. I took my car back on Monday and the worker stated that the condenser had a leak that he overlooked. I had just paid $600 for the compressor and thought I was good to go but I was wrong. When I spoke with the worker and his wife they were rude and acknowledged no wrongdoing in fact they tried to blame my leak on hitting a rock. I asked could they take off the part and give my money back and they stated yes, but then the next day when I called they said they would only remove the part and give me the money for the part back but not the labor. I usually don't write bad reviews but this is terrible customer service and the back and forth mess is not my style. If you have a A/C problem go somewhere else not worth it regardless of the other reviews. I would leave no stars but I had to do at least one.

Great work, highly recommend! I called Friday at 3:30 asking for quote over the phone, they were $400 less than christian brothers, and could fit me in next day. Saturday by 1:00 they called me to tell me my repair was complete. The final price was exactly what she quoted to the penny! Need more businesses like this that you can trust! And that are upfront with their pricing!!! I will highly recommend this company for any Ac repairs!!! Thanks Codes for honest ethics! And fair prices! -03 Nissan Pathfinder

I cannot say enough good things about Manuel and his family business. He's genuine, reasonable, and absolutely honest. My family and I have been bringing our vehicles to him for 5 years for things as small as oil changes and brake pad replacement to full engine repairs. His wife is very nice and often works in the office. We won't go anywhere else.

I just want to give a shout out to Manuel! I read his reviews and I took my car to him after it was broke down for 6 weeks and no one could figure out what was wrong! It was throwing codes after codes and replacing 10 different parts nothing fixed it! I take it to Manuel and a hour later it was fixed and was under $100! Amazing! Thank you so much! Highlight: No one informed me of broken part and they taped it back together.I went this place after getting the first stimulus check. My A/C wasn't working and my baby was due soon. I had my A/C compressor replaced, cabin air filter changed, and fluids replaced.� It worked for maybe a month. Come to find out they broke a part while working on my car and taped it back with electric tape so i wouldn't notice. I still have a reciept but unfortunately i didn't notice until having to move somethings around under the hood at my parents house today and i have not been to another b mechanic since then other than for inspection. I would of done something sooner if i had known. I've been pretty busy at home with my daughter and i rely on that one car. I'm pretty upset about the over 700$ i spent with an A/C that still doesn't work. I really don't ever have that much money to blow on my car while trying to make ends meet with one working adult. I regret going here.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Air conditioning

This shop is always super busy for a good reason; it is probably one of best auto shops in the Houston area.A husband and wife team along with a crew of mechanics run the shop as a shop should be they diagnose the problem at hand at a fair price with a fast turnaround. They don t try and up sell you for unneeded services because they don t need to.Been coming here for 7 years and will continue to as long as I live in the Houston area.

Just a hard working, honest and caring owner and employees- when I took my car in, they were very busy and really did not have time For one more car.As it was, there were no places to park but then the owner (Manuel) said he just wanted to help everyone..... Wow! Salt of the Earth He somehow found a way to work it it and still there were no short cuts- Manuel I m sure worked late and took the time needed to fix my car right. All is well and no problems since.I know why Codes Auto Repair are busy! Everyone wants to go there and I know I sure will in the future!Service: Air conditioning

Me and my daughter was stranded so we called my neighbor Veronica, she recommended this auto place so we took the car there it was already 7 at night but the gentleman that owns the garag was still there and greeted us he told us he would call us in the morning after he looked at our car. My daughter missed his phone call and when we called he said it would be$74 and some change he said he tried to call us but couldn't get a hold of us so he fixed it. I was so relieved that it was only a belt and satisfied with the amount we have to pay I will recommend him two other people that need a mechanic. Yours Truly Irene

It is the worst workshop in the US! they are rude! I left my car to be repaired and I already said them My car had the compressor was damaged, and they told me that the next day it would be ready, and I had to call the next day because they never called to tell me anything, I wasted my time, there the customer's time is not valuable, I think the best thing would be, nobody to take their car there, so they value and treat their customers better, 0% recommended do not go!

I had no appointment and no air conditioner and wanted a tune up. Drove up, no problem they said. They could have taken a large amount of money from another customer, but they were honest and paid hardly nothing! Friendly, Quick, Low Priced but most of all.. HONEST! That's a plus for a single woman!

Took Jeep in to have AC clutch replaced @ their opening time of 8Am. Nobody showed up until 8:20am...not a good sign. Provided clutch kit and spare bearing in case clutch kit did not fit. Vehicle promied to be ready at noon. Mechanic called saying clutch kit was missing some parts. Ok install bearing instead I told him. He called back saying he was afraid he might break a part trying to replace. I told him to try anyway and if it broke we'd replace entire compressor. He called back saying he had misplaced his $10 tool for removing the pulley and I either needed to come get Jeep(he was not willing to get tool used on all vehicles from auto supply to complete job) or replace entire compressor which was still working fine. The $ difference was $470 and my Jeep was kept all day instead of the 1/2 day as promised.After complaining to female manager and driving off the AC stopped working. I called and told her and she told me they do not want to work for people like me but they stand behind their work. Really..?I in turn most certainly do not trust them and would never allow them the opportunity to rip me off again.Stay away unless you want unskilled labor working on your vehicle. For their mechanic to claim he did not have a bearing puller is ludicrous and not believable. ALL mechanics have this tool.Follow up to Wife/office managers comments....I've been in business 29 years ... 2 Licenses with the State. Your time in business pales in comparison without ANY license. Using my company name to cast aspersions when you were dealing with me proves again you are unscrupulous and not trustworthy.I was told by your mechanic(husband) he could easily replace clutch and/or bearing. Bring it in. I did. Then he calls saying he does not the have the $10 tool to remove the bearing or clutch. WHY was I not told this so I could go to a normal shop that has necessary tools to do what needs to be accomplished..? The mechanic told me it's an easy job over the phone. I was lied to in order to get the Jeep into your shop where you could manipulate the outcome from replacing a $10 bearing for the agreed price of $100. The compressor was working perfectly and did not need replacing. The total was 470% higher than the quote. $570 instead of $100. A slight difference right..?Any honest shop would have either told me up front they are not able to perform requested work due to lack of tool(s) or simply gone to auto parts store and purchased the $10 bearing puller which is as common as a screwdriver or crescent wrench.Your husband did not show up at the shop until 8:20 as I was sitting at the front door from 7:45 am until he walked up and opened the overhead door.You both were rude and confrontational after I voiced my complaints about the situation. I see from another review that happened to another customer too. Shame on both of you as that is not the way to do business.Did I mention the AC DOES NOT WORK NOW..? It was working just fine when i brought it in except for a clutch that was squeeking.Thanks for "fixing" my Jeep and charging me $570.STAY AWAY from this midnight mechanic and office manager from hell.Mechanic told me he does things "his" way regardless of how things are normally done by dealerships or is standard operating procedures for the tasks. He does it his way. THAT is why my NEW AC compressor is blowing hot air and he does not have the tools necessary for the most basic of tasks. Puling a bearing off a AC compressor or the pulley.Ridiculous. Unprofessional. Ripoff artists.

Took our car to another shop and was told it would be $700 just to diagnose it. Brought it here to Codes and they were able to fix it for under $200. Continually we have great service and great prices from Codes. Thank you for being a great shop!

I had been without A/C in my car for almost a month now and had called around to many places and was giving up hope on a fair price. I went and bought the hose that I needed to fix and was just trying to find a reasonable shop to install the hose and add freon for me; on my last attempt I called Codes and was very pleased with the fast response to get it in for repairs the same day, had absolutely no wait time and was done in under an hour and wound up paying 1/5 of what I had been quoted from other dealers. Will definitely use Codes again for any future repairs on any of my vehicles. Honest, reliable, dependable, and fair business practices.
