Cal's is my go to auto shop! It's hard finding honest auto shops but if you are looking for one, this is it! Everyone is amazing and makes it a point to explain to you what is best for the car. They don't push anything or try to sell you anything. It's obviously up to you if you want to take the best option or settle for a "make do" option. I highly recommend this place!

Cal's came recommended to me by my sister in law. My truck was at the dealership needing a new transmission. However, they wanted $9,500 for a new transmission. I called cal's and spoke to Nick. He was was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable moving my truck to Cal's. Nick set up the wrecker and had it towed. No stress on me they added to my bill. They did their own diagnosis and discovered that I did need a new transmission. So I gave half down over the phone. That was Thursday they had my new transmission on Friday. They called me on Monday and said it had been installed. I was impressed. There were several other things that needed to be serviced as well. Unfortunately Nick got sick. I started dealing with Scott. He picked up right where Nick had left offAgain, I was impressed. Scott called me Wednesday my truck was complete. I paid total ober the phone. Went Wednesday night after they had closed. I picked up my truck runs great. Two days later Scott did a check up call. I told him all seemed to be in good shape. He said just let him know if there's anything else they can help with! I'm a very satisfied customer! Not to mention I got a new transmission along with many other items fixed as well for less than the dealership wanted just for the transmission. Happy customer! I would definitely recommend Cal's! Very expensive, they were charging $289 more than what the dealership charged. I was shocked considering the dealership is supposed to be more expensive. They do a great honest job. They were doing some tire work and the mechanic noticed my brake pedal was squishy so they bled the brakes. A couple of days later I had to brake hard on a feeder road normally I d be pumping but the brakes held and stopped me from hitting this truck that was stopped. It was close

Rude and unprofessional, left my car smeared with grease on the inside. If you enjoy being ripped off and have extra money laying around this is the place to go. Tripled the price for work. My dad took his vehicle in an they charged him 900 dollars to misdiagnose his truck and never fixed the problem. However APV was able to fix my car for a fair price and a smile! Beware of Cal s Auto Repair.

Cal's Auto Repair was a pleasure to work with! Cal's is locally owned and treats the customer like a valued memeber rather than just a number or car like some of the chain/name brand Auto repair shops! One thing to note: Cal's Auto is very busy with cars and more focused on fixing the car. I bring this up to mention they may not always call you and give you and update on your car. You can either wait patiently and trust their professional judgement/timing or you can call and request updates! Cal's Auto was fair in pricing. Unique to me... After a week of working on my car I received a call stating they had done their best and tried several possibilities however they could not fix my car. The owner stated it was not his policy to charge for work if they could not resolve the issue. I paid for the diagnostic fees and moved on my way.

I recently had trouble with a transmission fluid line on my truck. I called, and they gave me a detailed breakdown of cost and what to expect for the repair.10/10 customer service. A absolute honest mechanic shop to take your car to.This place was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I could not have been happier with how myself and my car were treated.Give them a chance, and take your car here.

If we could give a 5+ rating - we would! We called late morning on a Saturday, first-time customer after having done an A/C recharge at Valvoline and was told 'something isn't holding the A/C charge but all the pressure in the line is fine. Maybe there is a leak in the line somewhere? We're not sure what's going on.' They recommended we take it to a mechanic. We were certain we were looking at a full A/C replacement at this point. The gentleman on the phone was super polite, told us to bring the car over and they'd take a look no problem.It's my adult daughter's car, most people don't talk directly to her even though we ask. They did and were very helpful in making it clear she understood. We had the vehicle there by noon-ish, within about 30 minutes, she had a call stating they believed it was the engine fans, not necessarily the A/C system. When she told me "He said the fans will fix the A/C" I could hear him take the time to clarify that he believed that would fix the problem, he suggested they start there because that was the less expensive/invasive option and it 'likely' would solve the problem. We really appreciated the clarification so she could more accurately understand the line of reasoning. He informed her of the price and the time. Stated the car would be ready by 3:30pm. We were stunned!From what I recall, the car was ready by 2pm - well ahead of schedule & way less expensive! We could not believe it! Mike came out and introduced himself, spoke to my husband and my daughter - super polite!We could NOT have been more pleased on a weekend, same-day service, could have easily taken us for a full A/C replacement (and who knows what else). We will definitely bring our other vehicles here to Cal's!! THANK YOU!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Wow, I love Mike! All our neighbors pointed us towards Cal's and we couldn't be more thankful! Mike is great. I love his honesty, how straight forward he is, he's a pleasure to talk to! He explained a bunch of stuff about my car, made it simple enough to where I would understand. Was also very understanding of our situation. My car should be done by tomorrow and I can't wait to have a fully functional ac! Not a lot of shops are willing to work on a smart car, and Mike is! Sooo thankful!I'm happy to announce we've found our new mechanic! ^_^I highly recommend this shop!

Awesome service! While in town for a few days, I had car troubles due to vandalism/auto part theft. They were professional and courteous. It took a couple of days to get all the parts. I was able to headed home an hour after they received the last part. Would definitely recommend.

I've had my Toyota Camry 6 years and never had to take it to a mechanic. I started having a little rumble/shake when I got to 35mph. I was nervous as I didn't know anyone in the area. I took my car to Cals and was super pleased with their customer service and the work they did on my car. I dropped my car off just before closing on Monday at 6pm. They did let me know they were busy but Wed morning called me with a diagnosis. Scott was honest and straight forward with my options. The 1st thing they recommend worked. I went ahead and had them change the spark plugs and change fuel injection fluid as well since it should have been done at 100k. My car is running super smooth! Just paid it off so looking forward to no car payment for some years to come!

I recently used Cal s based on a recommendation and I was extremely impressed with their professionalism. They were were very understanding of my financial situation and worked with me to pay off the cost. They were excellent in communicating with me and they were very fast with the repairs. Great prices, honest, effective communication.Had some diagnostics run on my car at Autozone suggesting I needed a new alternator. Called around and got estimates, Cal's beat the next closest shop by almost $200. Only place that did not overcharge me on parts.After inspecting my car and running several tests, Scott told me there were no issues and there would be no charges. They could have easily made the replacement and charged me several hundred dollars or at least charged me for the inspection.Appreciate the honesty, will use them for all future repairs.

It's rare to walk out of a car repair shop and not feel like somehow you were taken advantage of, but I never felt that at Cal's. They diagnosed my car's problem for free, clearly explained the problem and repair to me, and had it fixed earlier than I thought possible. I appreciate feeling like I had my car repaired at a place that really takes care of their customers.

My wife started taking her 95 Sonoma to Cal s several years ago. Other shops had quoted her higher prices, and told her she needed more work than was really necessary. Cal s has always had the best prices, and the most honest, accurate diagnosis of what was really needed. When my Mustang GT started misfiring, I took it to Planet Ford. They diagnosed it as an internal engine issue and said it d cost me $12,500 to replace the engine. I took it to Cal s and they said Ford was right about the diagnosis, but Cal s quoted me $9,500 for the same job. I don t take my car anywhere else now.

Vehicle brought in for AC diagnosis. A quick couple hours later the diagnosis was complete and they ran me through the few options we had to move forward. His personal suggestion, contrary to many other shops I've used in the past, was the MOST affordable choice. It included sound logic with a bit of chance/risk, which in my case, made more than enough sense to take for the time being. I appreciate them putting the customer first. In doing so, they've created a customer for as long as I live within a couple hour drive of their shop. Thanks Cal's, for bringing dignity to a profession that is often misunderstood and frustrating.

I am updating my review. Original review from 3 years ago was very positive. Last 2 visits have been disappointing. $91 for a synthetic oil change is way too high! Asked on phone if price included filter and told yes. Dropped off and asked Mike in person if price included filter and told yes. Went to pick up and tacked on filter charge. Exact same thing happened last time with my wife. I DO NOT appreciate being told one thing and then having you add charges at the end that don't apply. Your boy gave me song and dance that my vehicle took extra oil and that is why the filter charge. Makes zero sense. I told you make, model and year in advance, plus I've had oil changed over 12 times and I know exactly what it takes and don't have a problem being charged for an extra 1.5 quarts, but I paid that and you still added filter charge. If you are going to make an educated argument over the phone at least get the correct year and model of my vehicle! Very disappointed since my wife and I gave you all that business and referrals over the years. Found receipts from competitors for $74 and $75 for exact same service for Mobil one full synthetic. How can you look a man in the eye and tell him, "Filter is included" and then stand there and charge me for a filter 2 hours later. Disappointing.

My Ridgeline's computer shut down and I was dead in the water. Thought about taking it to the dealer, but saw the reviews and thought I'd give these guys on Robinson Road a shot. Scott and his guys got me up and running same day. Like the other reviews, fair, honest, great communication, reasonable price.

Honest mechanics. The guy was very friendly and helpful. He was super helpful to accommodate my timing. He even asked his son to drive me back and picked me up from my house. It is hard to find a honest and reasonable pricing mechanics. This is one of those places. I will recommend to anyone.

Horrible work. Dishonest mechanics. Stay away. They replaced my AC compressor without blowing the lines out. That should be part of the job. Fragments left over from previous compressor are now blown into the condenser. AC still does not work. Mechanic admitted he did not blow out the lines. Mechanic lied when I called to discuss getting some of the labor they charges me back and said he offered to have the lines blown out. When I picked my car up he told me he heard rattling in the compressor. If there are pieces rattling around in the compressor you blow the lines out every time, this isn t an option. Bottom line, I spent $850 there and my AC is worse off then when I brought it. Also the mechanics there have no integrity. I hope this helps you avoid these people and find an honest place that does quality work.HAHA 3 years later this guy gets around to replying? Yea, and he still doesn't have any integrity.

I had a really good experience with Michael. He had a quick turn around time and clearly explained what was going on with my car and what my options were. I did not get a vibe that he just wanted to sell me things. In fact, Michael explained what I could have afforded to wait on and what was most important to get done. The service was quick and done well, and included little things that I did not experience at other places. For example, I was shown the old, faulty part of my car and what was wrong with it, and my car radio was reset properly, whereas in the past other places have not done that.I also believe the prices here were a lot less than I have been charged for similar services at other places. Overall, I had a great experience and this is where I will be coming in the future.

Mike and hi team are my go to guys when it comes to both my truck and my girlfriends car. He is super honest and trustworthy (which is a dying breed) and his work is top notch. Even though I moved home away from his location I make the trip back to him for every service. highly recommended!!

Great Staff at Cal's, took in my GMC Sierra in for brakes, because the brake pedal was vibrating as well as the steering wheel and the cab of the truck, whenever I applied pressure on the brake pedal.They resurfaced my brake drums, and put on new brake shoes, because my brake drums weren't adjusted properly before taking it here. After resurfacing the brake drums, and putting new shoes, and adjusting the brake drums it completely resolved the problem. Before taking my truck to Cal's, I took it too Christian Brothers on Rayford, they wanted to charge me $108.00 PER axle, just to check what might be wrong with the brakes on the truck, and that wasn't even going to resolve the issue. That could have been $500 or more down the hole for parts and labor, for a fraction of the price of what Cal's auto did. I am Glad I took in my truck too Cal's, affordable pricing, and extremely knowledgeable staff. Happy Customer!
