We missed the breakfast, which we heard is the best part of their service. However, the lunch was better than expected and a solid meal the whole family enjoyed. Most lunch spots around the area open at 2 pm, so if you want a lunch before that time, this is your spot.No adult beverages available.Kid-friendliness: Kid menus available

First time visiting. Very friendly and quick service both times we went. Had dinner and breakfast. You must try their apple cobbler! Best cobbler EVER!!! Plan to visit again. Praying our Lord's blessings on every employee and owner.Parking: Perfect

My husband and I came to eat here as it was our first time visiting this diner.Prices are a bit pricey, I ain't gonna lie.The food was okay, tenders were a bit hard other than that food was good.The waitress was really very nice and sweet.Always checked to see if we needed anything else.The scenery on the outside is breath taking, an eye for soar eyes.

Visited for the first time on 7-24-22 and ate Sunday lunch. YUM YUM YUM! No wonder it s a Texas iconic place. The food was so so good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Waitress took our order correctly and we had our food within 15 minutes on a busy afternoon. Parking lot was full. We had to circle twice before finding a spot. Indoor or outdoor seating options. Beautiful view from restaurant. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. The fried chicken was amazing as were the dinner rolls. Family friendly atmosphere. Will definitely return. A+

First note: This restaurant doesn t serve alcohol. You can BYOB or purchase an alcoholic beverage across the way though at Neal s Backyard ($10 for a large Rita).Don t go here if you re looking for a gourmet meal. The food was nothing special, and the quality vs price ratio is not the best but if you re hungry it ll do. Their appetizers are a pretty big portion size. I think this place is hyped up because of the outside seating and view, their customer service was quick and great too.

Peaceful little restaurant with an amazing overlook of a river. Outdoor seating has three large picnic style tables under and there is an old friendly restaurant girl cat (so no dogs allowed on the patio). We were recommended the chicken fried steak and it did not disappoint! The portions were huge and the steak fried to perfection. I think it needed a pinch more salt, but that is my preference. Would visit again when I m in the area!

I've been coming to the Frio for years and visited this place for the first time this summer. Easily the worst breakfast we've ever had. Biscuits were small puck looking, gravy was like water and they put about 3-4 crumbles of sausage to call it sausage gravy. Neat atmosphere and the waitress was nice. Maybe they make a better lunch or dinner.

Quick Good Service. Menu stated hashbrowns but got potatoes. Other than that the food was great ! Restrooms are outside in a white building.

Hey good food! We had a large group of 12 and didn t have any trouble with the service or the food. Great views and reasonable prices for the food. Worth a visit if you re floating the river and they do have call ahead seating and if you have a large group highly recommended to call ahead.

This place is a gem! Our waitress, Pearl was great and super friendly. Food was tasty! We sat outside and the view of the Frio River and surrounding hilly area was beautiful. Will return!

Nice place, good waitresses.. food was good but I noticed all the things I tasted could've used a tad more salt or spices. I guess that's what salt shakers are for

Love Neal's. Employees were all friendly, helpful, and smiling. Wifi hit or miss, but love the River, nature, and quite time with the family.

It s easy to see why this is a local institution! Beautiful patio & views, it seemed to be clean & tidy. The burger was fresh but a little under seasoned, the chicken on the chicken sandwich was a slightly dry but the sourdough bun was delicious.

Well thisn was one of our restaurants we stopped at on our vacation. Not much to say about this place but that the food was sub-par. Like previous comments, the menu clearly says all dishes under the category we ordered comes with 2 dinner rolls. Which we recieved 0 dinner rolls with our meals. The food wasn't horrible but not good enough to tell friends about. We might go back if nothing else.

We've been coming to Neal's Lodges in Concan, Texas since the 1970's. We've always eaten @ their cafe every day. They have the best iced tea!! Everything we've ordered is delicious & never have been disappointed. If you're ever in the area...stop in the cafe & ask for Mitzy...she's the best waitress & will make sure you have everything you need.Vegetarian options: Any vegetables you order are delicious.Parking: Plenty of parking. People who aren't staying @ Neal's still come to eat @ their cafe.Kid-friendliness: Yes...all of Neal's is kid friendly. It's a wonderful place for a family to make precious memories.

I have mixed feelings about this place when we went to eat. We were told that lunch was not going to be served until 1130 which is extremely unusual considering that lunch is served at eleven. So then our group ended Up eating breakfast. Most In the group did not like it. I think it's ridiculous that you can't order lunch at 11 am, my party had been waiting for several days to have lunch there and unfortunately we were disappointed with just breakfast.

I love coming to Neal's for breakfast for some good down-down home cooking when I'm in Concan. My sister loves their homemade biscuits and gravy, and I'm a fan of the pancakes (that are as big as my head) and chocolate milk that takes me back to my childhood.The outdoor seating is a beautiful option for a meal with a view, birdwatch and spot hummingbirds while you enjoy a great meal with your family. I'll never stop coming to Neal's

We stayed at the Concan House and it was everything we expected it to be. While the river was over crowded we had a spacious pool w/ volleyball net. We spent hours playing water volleyball. Everyone was excited about picking their own bunks and rooms.

Had a great first time experience, the food was absolutely phenomenal. I tried out the fried mushrooms which were perfectly fried and bursting with flavour, the homemade ranch that comes with them was also great (I'm very picky with ranch, it has to be pretty high quality for me to eat it) I also got the Mimis fried chicken, very juicy and tender chicken that was brined perfectly, and also had a wonderfully crunchy exterior. And the waitresses were both great, friendly, attentive, and they helped each other out with tables that weren't there's. I will definitely be returning next time I'm down here. 7 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

Wanted to give more stars but couldn't. Quality of the food was down. Not great service but we went in with a large group of 17 that probably affected that.
