We've wanted to camp here for several years, but this was our first time. We decided to stay here for the eclipse. Such a beautiful place to experience an amazing event! This is one of the best spots on the river. It looks like a park, & the Frio itself is especially beautiful here!! The campground was very peaceful, & the managers were very on top of things & super friendly. We had an issue with our truck & they helped us out. We usually camp in Garner, but we have tried a couple of other private campgrounds around this area when Garner is full. This is definitely our favorite one! We will definitely be back!!

We stayed here for 3 nights to view the 2024 total solar eclipse and we have nothing but good things to say about Camp Cold Springs! Amanda & Nick and their dog Kaia made me feel like part of the family when I came down solo in late February to reconnoiter the location. They were super helpful and accommodating when I asked if I could change our campsite for the eclipse to one that was out in the open, with no trees to block the view of the sky. (I am an amateur astronomer/photographer and I planned on setting up a telescope and several cameras to record the event.)Fast-forward six weeks and my wife and daughter and I all converged on Camp Cold Springs for the eclipse party of a lifetime! My wife and I saw the 2017 eclipse in Wyoming but our daughter could not join us for that one since she was in veterinary medical school at the time and a major once-a-year exam had been scheduled for that day and the administration was not going to change the date... Thus, we were really excited to have our daughter join us for this one - and we were not disappointed! The clouds parted often enough that we saw 50% of the total phase, including the crucial starting and ending moments!Camp Cold Springs did a GREAT job of accommodating and hosting a special event like this. This campground was as full as it could ever possibly be, yet it still did not seem cramped. The shower house was clean and well-stocked. The sites are all well maintained and reasonably well spaced apart. We had a Tacoma w/pop-up camper and a tent and did not use any hookups - electric or water. We were right beside a "pretty big rig" (30'? 5th wheel) but did not feel cramped at all.Right now the river itself is extremely low by historical standards, but there is still plenty of room for wading, swimming, etc. We did not get in the river ourselves, and the temps were mild during our stay, but I could imagine in the heat of a Texas summer, there would be little desire to ever get OUT of that river - nice and cool, it is!

I don't know where to begin. The park staff was very communicative with texts and emails. We were set to arrive late and communicated that via text and got a quick response about what to do. We arrived and the envelope with our check in info was easy to understand and we got set right up. I took my kids immediately to the swimming hole and we had a blast. For the next few days that's all my kids wanted to do. There was a basketball court and pickleball court we didn't use as again my kids just wanted to be in the river. I joined them a few times in the chillier water. It isn't called Rio Frio for nothing, but most of my time was spent relaxing on the bank. There are sunny or shady spots available to sit and relax while the kids play in the water. We had an evening campfire and the next day, staff came and removed the ashes. We didn't have to search for a trash bin as staff came multiple times a day to remove the trash. You just have to bag it and place it by the road.We communicated about an issue during our stay. The business listened to our complaint and made things right. All in all I am happy I can give this campground a 5 star review. Great location, great memories, great fun, great place to relax.

Camp Cold Springs is the ideal getaway from the congestion of city life. Set on the idyllic Frio River, the property boasts an impressive array of campgrounds suited for whichever category of camper you find yourself in. I particularly love the shaded section dispersed with winding Texas Oaks, and the newly renovated check-in cabin was the perfect welcoming outpost! If you're in the mood for a great bite to eat and to bop around an adorable town, Leaky is just down the road as well. We love Camp Cold Springs!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Hospitality was impeccable! Camp grounds are kept very clean and are located on a beautiful area on the Frio River. We will definitely be back soon and often.Nearby activities: The trails and the river is close walk from your campsites. Garner State Park is right up the road as well.

This camp is great. Clean, quiet and good sized spots. They have Wi-Fi but it s spotty. If they had laundry facilities they d get a million stars! There was a laundromat about 12 minutes away though. Everyone was friendly and the kids loved jumping off the rocks into the river. It was nice being about 5 minutes from Garner State Park.Nearby activities: Garner State Park.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Camp Cold Springs and I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, everything was absolutely perfect.First and foremost, the staff at Camp Cold Springs were exceptional. They were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the area and provided great recommendations for activities and attractions to visit during my stay. The campgrounds themselves were well-kept and provided ample opportunities for outdoor activities. I enjoyed hiking through the trails, fishing in the nearby river.Overall, my time at Camp Cold Springs was truly unforgettable. The combination of excellent staff, beautiful accommodations, and stunning natural surroundings made for a perfect getaway. I would highly recommend Camp Cold Springs to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating retreat.

Camp cold springs is fantastic. The shaded sites are big - and most importantly shaded. Kept our trailer cool in 100+ degree heat. The spot on the river is super picturesque - And the river was easily accessible from our site. The staff was also wonderful - super friendly and helpful during our stay. I d recommend this place to anyone.

Nice and clean RV Campground. Staff is friendly and attentive. The Frio River is walking distance with easy access and a beautiful scenery of cypress trees next to the river front . Parking is limited by the campsite but managed. Amenities are limited. There were no laundry facilities or activities on site, but it was a quiet and serene campground. The campground is under new ownership, and they were welcoming and friendly. We would visit again to see the progress made in the future and to enjoy the cold springs and beautiful scenes of nature.

We just finished our first of hopefully many trips to Camp Cold Springs and had a great time. Even when the Frio is low there is still cool water to enjoy on there Cypress shaded river access. The RV Sites are very nice just be sure to let the management know the size of your rig as some spots can get tight with large RV's, but they have several large sites to accommodate large trailers as well. Thanks again for a great experience!

New owners! My family has stayed at this property twice. Once 2 years ago under the old management, and just this past weekend on the opening weekend for new ownership. What a difference! The new owners have done so much clean up and landscaping. New fire pits, tree maintenance, newly paved roads...the list goes on.The property is perfectly situated on the Frio River. Even when water levels are low, there is still a nice place to swim in the river. But the best part is that we had a chance to meet one of the long time residents who owns a cabin adjacent to the park. The resident stated that the new ownership is wonderful and respecting the long time tenants who share river access. Sounds like a win-win for all involved.

CAMP COLD SPRINGS what a gem and perfect location - a stones throw from Garner State Park and a few minutes from Leakey and Concan. The management team were very welcoming and there was no issue they would not solve with a helping hand and a big smile. The property was filled with gorgeous mature trees with tons of River frontage. Our favorite parts were all the things to do: pickle ball, basketball, paddle boarding, fishing, huge swimming hole and a big rock to climb and jump off.We heard a lot of exciting additions and amenities are upcoming and can t wait to come back.Food & drinks: Lots of great restaurants within a 15min drive.

Booked Camp Cold Springs on a whim for our first outing in our new camper. Was easy to book and great communication for after hours check in. Camp grounds are very pretty and secluded and offer a TON of space. Short walk to the river and plenty of room to steak out for the day. Beautiful swimming spots. We had a great time! Their general store is also super cute with lots of offerings. Will definitely book here again!!!

A excellent camp on the Rio Frio for the family getaway. Great customer service and quick communication. Well maintained camp ground all around! The bathhouse has 2 showers and toilets in both men and women side, that were very nice and clean. Each camp site has a bench and small fire pit/ grill. There was a pickle ball court, 2 sets of corn hole, ping pong table, and basketball court. You can put a deposit down for the equipment to use. They had paddle board rentals.A quick walk to the river. Shallow parts to sit and chill and deeper spots to do some swimming. The big rock to jump off is about 5.5 ft deep.

We really enjoyed Camp Cool Springs, the staff, overall venue and experience. We felt very safe with our kids riding their bikes around the park, playing ping-pong or pickle ball. The river is great and there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. All of the neighbors that own property around Camp Cool Springs are very friendly and nice too. This place will end up being one of the most popular place on the Frio, once the word is out.Noteworthy details: The check-in process, unlike any other process I ve experienced and it is amazing. Provide all your necessary details online, the day before check-in and then just drive to your camp site. There isn t a need to stop by the office but if you do, they have all kinds of necessities and provisions.

We found this place on a wimp, and so glad we did! It s newer, so not packed and still really clean and well kept. Very much enjoyed the stay there. The water is beautiful, even plenty of places to swim with lower water levels. We are ready to move there and have them hire us.

The property is very lovely and very easy to access. The RV spots are very level and we had no trouble hooking up, in fact this was our first time hooking up our motorhome and Nick came over to assist us. I love sites where you put your trash out and when you come back out it's gone. Amanda at the front desk was cheerful and greeted us and was very eager to help us have a good time there. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful, personable, and picturesque! And y all - the trees!!! We came opening weekend and the owners/staff were friendly and great. I grew up on the Frio and this is the lowest Ive seen it in years, but Camp Cold Springs still had the infamous cold, clear Frio water! They had a family friendly portion of the river along with gorgeous rock ledges and a deep swimming hole. Beautiful Oak and Cypress!
