I would like to give this shop an awesome review. My first visit with them was an amazing experience. I have a Chevy Sonic which needed motor mounts replaced. They correctly identify the problem, they were quick with the service, and they were so courteous and polite all thru the service. It's a shop y'all you can trust. So a big thank you Ellis Motor Company for taking care of my needs. I will certainly bring my vehicles in for service.

These people are very professional and honest. They did the work we needed in a timely manner. We always hope we will not need to have repairs but if we we're ever in their area and need repairs we would not hesitate to go to them again.

I went in to get my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RH lower control arm replacement done. After inspection the grease nipple for lower ball joint wasn't installed, with that not installed no grease was put in ball joint. Only 1 of 2 bolts was installed on the shock that bolts to control arm. The plug that controls my shocks stiffness wasn't plugged back in. I will not be taking my cars up their again. I won't even take it up there for them to fix the issues that should have done. I'll do it myself like I should had don't I. First place.Edit: I can't even install lower shock bolts because it's stripped out! Very nice! NOT!

So I've waited a few days to cool down about this. Here's what happened. My truck needed a timing set replaced. It was well overdue. I got the set, tried to do it myself, ran into a a few issues. I could have figured it out, but I couldn't afford to have it down long enough for me to figure it out. I had it towed in 90% of what needed to be disassembled, disassembled. The finished it and got it back to me. Told me the fan clutch and idler pulley needed to be replaced. I didn't have the money, and I can do those myself. Picked it up and it over heated before it got home. I chalked it up to the fan clutch, and next pay day replaced the clutch and pulley. Now the definitely needed replacing, felt like sand paper and sounded like radio white noise. This is where they get the 1 star. When I took the pulley off I saw they'd left a bolt out the tensioner indexed on. Wasn't a big deal to me considering the state I handed it off to them in and easily fixed when I replaced the tensioner. However. After replacing the clutch, which probably did need it, the truck still over heated. I drained the coolant not knowing if the thermostat or water pump had went out. Turns out it was neither. They installed the thermostat backwards. When I took it off, I thought it was wrong so I checked parts diagrams online, checked youtubes, they all agreed it was backwards. I called Ellis and they attempted to tell me it only went one way. They said "well bring it back well fix it" uh, I already did. And they continued to argue with me that the thermostat only went one way.

Currently they are replacing a head gasket and doing an oil change on my vehicle. I dropped it off over two weeks ago and was told it would cost 1000$ since I brought all the parts with me. They have procrastinated and don t give updates on the vehicles that they are working on. I have stopped in and called multiple times just to try and figure out when my car would be done just to find out that they hadn t even touched until the last time I called. Each time I called or visited they raised the price of my quote, so as of last Friday the guy I spoke to said I will likely be paying closer to 1500$ for the two repairs. I would not recommend anyone bringing their vehicles here.

I hate to say it but this company was very dishonest with me. We had a/c issues. They did the traditional dye test to see if it was leaking, filled it with freon and charged it. We took it back within a month because it started blowing warm again which we knew probably would happen because of the freon leak. The 2nd time we took it back they kept it for a lengthy period of time and wouldn t look at it. Then after calling and checking multiple times they then say they cant find what the issue is and say there s no leak. Then the next day say we need a whole new kit which is 1300-1400.That didn t settle well. We get a second opinion from a different mechanic. It s just a leak as suspected and is working perfectly fine now for a quarter of the price.

I'm very satisfied with the work done on my car. I even had to take it back because of a faulty throttle assembly that was fixed prior. I brought it back, they replaced it and no charge. Thanks for all your service! Hope you enjoyed the pizza!

Ellis Motors has worked on my three vehicles over a 10 year period. I go there first for my vehicle needs. They give me a diagnosis and the amount they will charge. They have been accurate on the diagnosis and faithful to their price and time of completion. If there is no problem they tell me so and have not charged me for the time they took to review my perceived problem. Thanks guys for another great job on the Heater Core.

My car broke down in the middle of an intersection. They came out to help me, with no callout fee. Back at the shop, they were able to diagnose the problem within minutes, and fixed it as soon as the part came in, the next day. Service was excellent, and very affordable. Definitely recommend!

Been using Ellis Motor Co. for repairs on my car for the last 10-15 years. I've always been satisfied w/ the work and cost. The only complaint would be that sometimes they seem to get backlogged a bit & wait time can be a few days sometimes (... but I guess this isn't so abnormal, if you're running a good garage & get a lot of repeat business). For the review from 2014 stating that $75 is "overcharging" for labor, even figuring in inflation and maybe changing this to $80 -- that's not overcharging. The norm for labor cost at a shop is somewhere around $70-$100 (and higher at a dealership). Maybe if you've been using some 'backyard mechanic' the $75 may seem high?

I had taken my truck to a local transmission repair place to fix an aft u-joint that I had detected slack in. They replaced the part. A few weeks later I could still feel slack in the driveline when I would take off from a stop. Sure enough, the u-joint was moving in the mount. The wrong part number was used and while it appeared to be a good fit, it was not. In 3 hours Joey, at Ellis Motor's had me in and out with a new joint and no slack. I don't have time for "do over" work. I will be sure to come back for competent work and friendly service at a reasonable price. Thanks guys!

BUYER BEWARE!!! This is a rip off mechanic if i EVER met one! They charge extra hours AND are over priced on labor ($75/hour)! They cant explain their own bills! They have fee's on their bills that are not necessary! Example: Shop fee: a $12.00 fee for what they explained is for bolts and other things they may need. Yet, they will line item charge you for hose clams and every other thing. So what exactly does this shop fee cover again?!?!DON'T BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE!
