I found Recon Central online and contacted them due to their convenient location and wide range of services. Usually, you'd have to visit several shops for such a mix of services, but Recon Central offers it all in one place.I entrusted them with my car for ceramic coating, detailing, and repairing some scratched plastic trims both inside and out. John, a co-owner, really knows his stuff. From the moment we met, I felt sure he'd do a great job with my car. Their prices aren't the lowest, but they're fair, and the top-notch quality of work makes it worth it.After the service, my car looked amazing. All the swirl marks and stains from bird droppings were gone, and my car looked shiny and new. Plus, they finished the job on time which can't be said about many businesses today.What makes Recon Central stand out is not just their car reconditioning skills but the personal touch John adds. He's not only knowledgeable about cars but also about many other topics that I find interesting. Update(2024) I took my own personal vehicle to recon just to fix the headliner the mirrors black out the emblems and redo the sun visors needless to say they did a fantastic job the headliner was flawless the mirrors were replaced and put back perfectly and the emblems have a perfect factory finish this car is y child and i want nothing but the best for it so if you care about your priceless car as much as I do then Shelby and John are your guysI own a luxury car dealership, and I use Recon Central for all of their detailing and vehicle repair needs. They have the best prices, and I even entrust them with my personal collection. If you need quality service at a reasonable price, then John and Shelby are the go-to guys.

one of the best services i have ever had. They did ceramic coating to my tesla, they polished real nice, they did paint correction, and a lot of touch ups to the car. The crazy thing is that they finished all that in the same day. Very affordable prices as well, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Not a good way to treat paying customers. Paid for paint work that wasn't as good as promised. Almost embarrassing to say I paid someone professionally to do this. Worst thing though is while keeping my car on property (longer than expected) they did not lock it and things were stolen. They acted like it was no big deal. Now they won't even communicate with me.I do not recommend and I WILL be taking my business elsewhere.

I don't know the fellow's name I spoke to, but he was incredibly helpful. I had a miscommunication while doing business with another local shop and was coming to him to have some unnecessary work done.. he easily could have ran me for my money. Instead, he called the other shop and took 15 minutes of his own time to help straighten it out for me. THESE GUYS ARE HONEST!!

I was rear ended and the repairs done at Recon were excellent. Didn't take long after the insurance signed off on it. It's nice to find a go to for the stuff you can't do at home and done better than I can.Many Thanks to Recon for their expertise. The experience shows in the details.

I originally contacted 5 places near me to have a seat cover removed and replaced with the replacement I had in my possession. John was the only one who replied back to me and within the same day at that. I finally got around to having them replace this cover. Since they were so close to my work, they picked my truck up and brought it back afterward. The seat looks brand new again, and I'm pleased with what it cost me.I'll definitely recommend John and Recon Central to anyone who needs upholstery work done.He's a great guy, and they did excellent work.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. These people do not belong anywhere near cars.I dropped my car off in Dec for paint/ ceramic coating. When talking with John it would be around $4,000 for it all and he said in January it would be done. I was polite, waited, and never rushed him. Then in February he finally texted me and said the car wouldn t start and needed a fuel pump. The car was always running when I dropped it off, but whatever. I m thinking because they leave cars in the open the gas was siphoned. He installed a new fuel pump, then my car continued to sit as he ignored the paint job and prioritized other work. Then his team had to jump start my car because they continued to let it sit there and his team reversed the cables and ruined the ECM! That is insane! He purchased a used one online, first got the wrong one so a further delay, and then when the car was finally operating again, he still did not prioritize my car and it sat there. He had said once it was running it would be the first car painted, so he clearly lied like he had numerous times when I was checking in weekly about when this would be done, let alone actually start. It was not until May that I got it back and then he said it was around $8,000. Way over what he said months earlier!I write this review because within months my car would die while driving it! This happened numerous times. I could have died. I never thought it would be related to his team, but it 100% was. I took it to numerous mechanics who couldn t diagnose anything wrong with it, until saying it must be the ECM. I purchased one online, previously John told me how when he bought that one it was over $1,000, they are not anywhere close to that. I got one for around $200 which I know is what he did because he said all he did was plug and play. No dealership programming. This only lasted about a month and then the car began to die again. I had to take it to the dealer and pay their price for them to thoroughly diagnose my car. They had to program the ECM to my car, those aftermarket services never get the programming right and dealers have to do it they said. This is something John should have done and paid for rather than the mere plug and play that he did. I had to pay over $1,000 for this. They also said I needed a new battery and once I told them what this body shop did, he said they should have gotten a new battery if they fried the ECM and let it sit for 6 months. The battery cells were naturally dead.Then I had to take it to the dealer again because the car would shut off at idle. This diagnosis was that the fuel pump wiring was exposed. So when John did that repair it wasn t even good work!He cost me so much money over shoddy work he did. I ve called and emailed and he ignores me. He owes me thousands of dollars at this point and knowing his integrity he will never respond. He was never even polite about ignoring my car for 6 months. Each time I was in there I saw people battling him about issues from when they had left their car with him.

My 1974 Chevrolet convertible was stolen from Recon Central on July 17 after the shop left it parked outside. The shop then waited 36 hours to notify the police, and me. The shop has assumed no responsibility for this, and my insurance was forced to cover the claim which was not enough to compensate me for the true value of the car. I would never recommend this business to anyone given what happened to me and the way that I have been treated. In my view, based on my experience, no car is secure there.Service: Upholstery repair

Kelsey helped me find my husband a new steering wheel for his ten year old car, but the word "help" does not even COVER how tremendous her service was. She worked tirelessly to find us precisely the right product within our budget. On top of that, Kelsey was super responsive, efficient, and friendly. Thank you again, Kelsey, for being such a great person to work with--I appreciate your efforts and tenacity.

First off google reviews doesn t come close to what this company can do! I debated about ghosting them but changed my mind out of desperation!So I m showing John what I needed done for my headliner, he casually walks around recommending additional work for my poor car. John wasn t pushy at all but came off like a concerned friend!!!I can now drive with my windows rolled down without seeing my headliner wiggle in my rear view mirror! Plus my headlights, wheels, and steering wheel all look amazing.. such a difference!I highly recommend this place because they do additional work you don t request merely bc they re car enthusiasts. For ex: I immediately noticed whomever did additional improvements to my steering wheel! Much thanks to John and the guys at ReCon for simply being a concerned friend! I ll be back.

My black truck had overspray over the entire surface and Recon Central was highly recommended by a friend. I took it there and met John and Shelby and didn't have expectations. After they inspected the truck, they ensured me that the black high gloss shine could be restored. After the ceramic application, I was surely impressed with the outcome! If you have any sort of exterior or interior reconditioning or repairs that need to be done, I highly recommend recon central. They do really good work, if it's hail dense that you need fixed or scratches that are even pretty deep that you need repaired, or headliner that you need replaced, or anything like that this team is pretty much a One-Stop shop for getting all that done. They are very personable, very easy to work with and their rates are reasonable. They even turn around the work pretty quickly too which is nice. Someone opened their car door into my car and caused a dent and scratches, and I brought it to recon Central and they handled it like a champ, you can't even tell it happened anymore.

The job that Recon Central did on my car was incredible! I didn t take before and after pictures, but it looks like a completely different car! The value of service far surpassed the quoted price. John stuck to the quote and was extremely focused on what was convenient for me. I received a complimentary wash as a surprise. I would recommend this company to my family and friends.

John and the team did a great job fixing some aging leather upholstery in my Mustang. They also replaced the cowl on short notice the same day as the upholstery. I highly recommend them. My husband found Recon Central on google and it came up first with the best reviews. The owner, John, answered our call and got us in that day to quote a huge tear and scuffs on the driver s seat of my Mercedes, a large dent with scratches from where I was hit, and my auxiliary battery was out. He is super affordable, professional, knowledgeable, and their work is TOP NOTCH. They even went above and beyond and painted some of my trunk that had paint peeling off. My husband is getting his bed liner sprayed next. Highly recommend them and will use them from now on as they are FAST! You don t find service like this anymore! 5 stars.

I found this place by doing a Google search while driving. I saw it had a 5 star rating, so I thought I'd give them a call and give them a try.First off, one of the owners, John, is a rare breed of yesteryear! His customer service and hospitality is one of the best I've encountered in my four years in DFW! This shop is very clean and the staff appreciates your business. They hold the door for you when you come in and when you leave. It's the little things like that which makes a lasting impression. Great atmosphere.I had a simple blemish on some plastic trim that I made worse by trying to clean it. The color became faded and looked a mess. I thought I needed to go to the dealership and order a replacement part. John looked at it and told me he could take care of it and make it look new. Keep in mind, I didn't have an appointment. He took my car to the back, had it done in 20 minutes. The color match of the affected part was spot on! As a bonus,they cleaned my driver's seat to remove residual blue jean dye and vacuumed the car at no cost.I can't wait to bring my other vehicle over for some cosmetic repairs. I'd definitely recommend this establishment to anyone who enjoys great work at an affordable price coupled wit EXCELLENT customer service!

I discovered the padded cover of the glovebox in my BMW X3 was delaminating and separating from the glovebox door. I didn't think it was a big deal. Simple re-glue and I'd be good to go.My service writer at BMW told me he was familiar with the problem and it could be solved in 2-3 hours. A replacement glovebox would be $575 + labor for a total of $670. I was blown away that there would be no effort to repair, only to replace the whole glovebox. I told him I'd think about it.After thinking about it, I decided I was not interested in spending that amount on a minor appearance issue on an 8 year old car.Then I thought there must be a collision center that might do the work. I inquired at an auto parts store if they could make a recommendation. After a few wild goose chases, I googled collision centers and found Recon Central nearby and called. John answered and was very confident they could solve my problem with one of two options.I went over and John looked at the issue and assured me they could take care of it. We talked about a price to do the work and when I could bring the car in.I took the car in the next afternoon and was told I would have it back before the end of the next day. I mentioned to John that I was getting some wear on the edge of the driver's seat. He quoted me a price for that and I told him we'd see how the other work turned out before I made a decision about the seat.The next afternoon, John called about 3p to say the car was ready and he was excited for me to see the work that had been done. When I inspected the work, it looked like nothing had ever happened. It was perfect!John asked if I had noticed the seat. I hadn't. He said he wanted me to know what kind of work they did. Again, perfect!When I went in to pay the bill, he told me it was a bit less than he had quoted. One more time, perfect!!These guys know how to walk their talk. They are good. I'm looking for stuff on my car to have them do. I love good work, especially when it's reasonable.I updated my sister on my saga of the glovebox door this morning and she wanted the contact info right away.I would recommend John and his merry bunch of magic makers to the pickiest of car owners.Service: Upholstery repair

Recon Central recently replaced the covers on the driver and passenger seats of my Toyota Tundra. Their work was excellent. I was completely blown away. My truck is 20 years old, but with the new seats, it looks brand new. Their people are very professional and took time in explaining what needed to be done and how they would do it. When the work was done, they stuck to the original quote they had given me which was a huge plus fo the deal. I would highly recommend them for interior and/or exterior work.

Very unpleasant experience that rolled into over a whole month waiting period of an issue that was ruined and left not working at all. I purchased my vehicle in consent of my panoramic sunroof COVER not functioning and paid for my vehicle cash money. I did not leave the facility with my car the same day because it was told that the cover is being taken off and replaced with dark tint. I had trust that the next day it will be fixed. I drove to Dallas approximately two hours from my job that I requested to leave early from to arrive and test the sunroof WINDOW that resulted to not open and close I called the owner that was in disbelieve because that s why the deal was closed. Another staff member came out to test and confirmed it did not open nor close. I had no choice but to take the car because I needed it to move around not knowing my situation would result in being car less after already paying for the car. His solution was to take it back to recon central to for them to fix because it was working when it left the lot. I waited two weeks to be told to pick it up because they did not have the computer to fix it. Neither the owner nor anyone offer another solution to take it to the actual BMW dealer where they would have the proper computer to fix. Then I received a call the same day to actually take it back all the way to Dallas because supposedly they had a trained professional mechanic that just needed more time. That more time resulted into almost over a month I patiently waited and rented a car I just wanted the issue fixed. Every time I would ask just for a update I was put off with no answers. I no longer was patient after waiting so long and purchased a vehicle without even utilizing it that I just accepted the fact that they would not fix it and I was just screwed. Driving back home two hours away I heard much wind and noise and realized they did not close it properly and the new issue is that it will rain all week and I would have water ruin my interior. I called and was told to bring it againnnn. Today I took off of work to pick up my car I arrived and was told it was closed so with me seeing they do nothing right I pored water over and sure enough it was leaking into the car because it was still open. They had me wait all day here from 10:00am I didn t leave until 15 minutes till 5:00pm. This is the worst buying experience and customer service EVER! Left with a panoramic roof that has no function. Thank you for literally nothing but a waste of my time and money.

Recon central is my Go To for anything detail oriented!! My driver s seat was torn and not only were they able to get my car in quickly, they had it done To Perfection within a few hours! In addition to the seat repair, I had my rear headliner fixed and again, they fixed it quickly and professionally! Use this place - the team and their work will not disappoint you!! We will be back!!!

BEWARE!!!!!!! If there was a zero star, as he is not even worthy of a 1star. I gave him a job for a complete upholstery job. First, he said the job will He charged me $1800 for the job, showed him the car and everything that needs to be fixed, he did not at any time mentioned it will be an additional cost to fix the car s upholstery. Even though he promised 3days to complete the job, after 2 whole weeks, he gave me an invoice of $2700 and insist I make full payment or he will not release the car. I made full payment and upon receiving the car, noticed a lot of issues! my car audio screen is blank! This was working perfectly before I dropped the car. He also left some areas of the car uncovered! Also my extra tire in my trunk was missing! Finally, he gives this job to a third party and doesn t hold them accountable for unfinished job. I ll never advice anyone to do business with Recon Central! Beware!Services: Auto detailing, Interior scenting

Recon Central took my race car, which had lots of rubber marks and bugs splattered all over it, and cleaned and polished it up beautifully -- all nice and shiny. A clean race car is a fast race car! They did a fantastic job at an extremely reasonable price. I highly recommend them!

I am very happy with the results of my detail. I have a car that had never been detailed with some pretty tough carpet and upholstery to clean. The results exceeded my expectations. The customer service was excellent. My car looks amazing!
