Took my wife to the restaurant for Valentines day. They had a special menu for this occasion and offered limited choices. It took us an hour and 40 minutes to drive there and we arrived a little bit earlier than our reservation. The restaurant wasn't very full and we saw a table for 2 that we asked to sit at but were told we could sit anywhere but at that table. Once we were seated they explained the menu and we gave our order. Bread and our drinks were brought out first. The tea had an off flavor and was undrinkable, so switched to soda. The bread? well, it was hard as a rock, the kind of bread that is really dry on the outside and rained crumbs all over the table when attempting to cut it. Not the kind of bread that should accompany a hundred dollar meal. My Wild Prawn Ceviche was good, my wifes squash soup was not. We both had the Prime Strip loin and it was OK, not great, but OK. Both were overcooked though. The desert, Chocolate Cream Pie didn't match the rest of the meal. It was large and heavy, so we shared one. I think a nice slice of cheesecake would have been better suited for the meal. Although the service was great, the food was lacking. We don't usually go out for Valentines day for this very reason.

My husband & I stayed in the RV park 12/21-28. We've stayed here 5 or 6 times over the past few years and never experienced an earth shattering issue. The park is always clean & well manicured, the staff has always been helpful & friendly and the restaurant is always delicious. This trip was no different other than new ownership....but the staff was phenomenal, especially when we went to the restaurant!!!! They are going through growing pains trying to get menu's established but everything we had was delicious....no complaints! The many hiking trails were very clean & so was the bath houses.

Stayed a week in the RV park. The stars at night seem so close you could collect them in a jar. The coyotes howling at night was so cool... the awesome hosts Allen and Holly were like meeting Tennessee in Texas. Hospitality on fleek. Go! You'll love it. Nearby activities: Vanishing Texas Cruise

This is about their Overlook RESTAURANT. Hubby and I live very close but had never gone. Beautiful place. I had the fried mushrooms with ranch and the quinoa harvest bowl. So good! It s easy to mess up. The fried mushrooms were addictive. Can t recall Hubby s order but he liked it.Our waitress LANIA was amazing. She told us all about the area.We got there early so we had the place to ourselves for a while.Food & drinks: See main review

Camping here was awesome. The area is gorgeous even with the water levels being so low. Plenty of space between RV Full Hook up pads to feel like you have some privacy. The restroom/shower rooms are nice and well kept, they close too early though. Unfortunately the Fire Ban was still in effect while we were there. There are some nice hiking/biking trails right on the property and others nearby. The restaurant was alright, we ended up making food ourselves mostly every day. Dedee at the bar is absolutely amazing to talk too and really makes you feel at home while you are there. The pool is nice and has a good view. They have live music almost every week and it creates a nice atmosphere to the venue. If you are looking for a nice view, a drink, to cool off at the pool and/or little get-a-way this place may be the one for you.Nearby activities: You have hiking, fishing, a pool, live music, and a small bar right on site.

Restaurant Review: Big portions and yummy! I got the streak and my husband got the chicken. Our three kids got corn dogs kid plates.Bread- We got bread. (It didn t come with butter, so we asked for butter.)Salads- The main meals came with salad: bacon, purple onions, and a cream dressing. We don t eat pork, and we didn t know it came with meat. Dressing was okay, but ranch would have tasted better.Kids Meal, corn dogs: $12.50 It came with a lot of food! Two corn dogs each, mixed root vegetables or a salad (same as adult salad with bacon, purple onions, etc.) It would have been better if it was $8 for one corn dog and steamed veggies. I have never seen root vegetables on a kid s menu. We didn t think to ask details. One of our three kids liked them. Our son likes salad, but he didn t like the side adult salad. I should have asked what it came with. He didn t eat the salad.Main, chicken: It was dry. All the sides were great.Main, steak: It was medium rare and perfect. I asked for ketchup with the hush puppies. It came with two big potato wedges. The creamed corn was really good. All the sides were great.Dessert: Yummy! We had peach cobbler. Each of us got our own with meals. The bread was a little too thick, but the peaches were delicious.Property Review: 10 star! Beautiful trails, events, and outside activities. We spent three hours there. We will 100% come back and only order two kids meals with different sides. We will try the burger next time and ask more details about what is on everything. Our server was new, and he did a great job. More training would be better for the manager to help the servers know what all is included or have a cheat sheet. :) Our server was fantastic and willing to double check when we had questions.

The place is beautiful and definitely provides for a lot of good nature walks! Our family of five, including 2 kids and a dog , stayed there during Labor Day weekend! We enjoyed the saturday morning nature walk and our guide was really knowledgeable and great to talk to! Eagle Eye Observatory was a unique experience and we enjoyed it, though we would have really liked to have seen more through the telescopes. The room was quite basic and stocked with basic facilities. It may be time for some renovation especially the floor. What made us really like the place a lot was the staff - very warm and welcoming and always ready to help and providing information. Definitely recommend the place for a short weekend stay!

Meh, rooms were not checked for cleanliness before arrival- cobwebs & dust everywhere. Pool was dismal as previous reviews stated. The American flag was furled, left out in the rain with no nighttime light . As a Veteran, I found this shameful. I would not recommend.

I have been coming here every summer for years and staying in a cabin, and I think this was my last time. The pool and the room were a disappointment. We'll start with the pool. It was the biggest reason for coming for us- we planned to spend our days swimming. The pool was filthy and in disrepair. It seemed like maybe a filter was broken? There were tiny little floaters throughout the entire thing, and dead leaves on the bottom. In the top part of the pool there were so many leaves on the bottom that my foot sunk through layers of them. The bench in the pool was cracked, and there were big, loose stones in the upper part of the pool that looked like they had broke off the interior. The stone facade that outlines the upper pool was chipped and cracked. The water was also hot beyond belief, which is out of anyone's control, but hot water paired with filth was disgusting. Additionally, all the furniture in the pool area was broken, or covered in spiderwebs and bird poop. The whole area was in a serious state of neglect. The room was fine in terms of cleanliness, but the curtains were visibly dirty all over. The curtains were also broken. In years past, the curtains had strings you could use to pull them up or down, and this year they sat heaped on top of the window frame with no way to adjust them up. I had booked the room I did because I had planned on sitting in the window stargazing at night, but we couldn't get the curtains up. Also, the rocking chairs outside our room had spiderwebs and felt like they were ready to break apart with a few good rocks.I also was surprised to discover that, now, I had to pay for the Observatory as it was no longer included with the reservation. So, to recap, our draws for coming were the pool and the stars. The pool was entirely unusable and the stars experience cost additional money. We were extremely disappointed by our stay.

I loved the unspoiled land, the wildflowers and butterflies were absolutely STUNNING, like I have never seen in TEXAS!!! The hiking trails were top notch! The gentleman that did the Eagle Eye Observatory presentation knew his stuff! The cabins need a little updating, the money you spend is not about the cabins but about the setting, the views, the native fauna and flora as it is AMAZING, just LOVE IT!I understand Vista Entertainment, who is thought to have deep pockets has taken over the Resort and changes are on the way! I can only hope they do not take away from the unspoiled beauty of this land. I do hope they keep the grounds as is, in its native form and do not add many more cabins, that to me, would ruin the beauty of Canyon of The Eagles. I do think updating the cabins a little would be money well spent for Vista Entertainment. My suggestions would be to add a water purification system and water softener, change all plumbing fixtures on sinks and bathtubs, update ceiling fans, put in solid surface countertops, use AC mini splits as old window units expire to lessen AC noise, remove all curtains replace with Bali solar roller shades and re-paint all the rocking chairs. Please redo the window tint in the restaurant for a clear clean view! These few things would make an amazing difference for the least amount of money!I originally asked for a Deluxe Room with a lake view, but that didn't exist so I got a regular room with a lake view. After resting we decided the next day to look around, we found a deluxe cabin that we thought had a nice lake view. The staff said they didn't consider it a lake view, however they allowed me to move, it was a GREAT spot, thank you Billie for accommodating our requests!Great stay, relaxing serene and GORGEOUS Wildflowers, keep up the good work and thanks again to all of the staff, we will be back!!!

Loved this place! Not only is it beautiful but the Event Coordinator and staff did so much to make my wedding perfect. It was freezing out but I really wanted an outdoor wedding ceremony and they set it up exactly how I wanted it. We had to have the wedding reception inside and that was beautiful as well! The food was great and the drinks were strong. Everyone tells us how amazing our wedding was and the location was perfect. Would 100% recommend this place. Might even visit for our anniversary as well.

We went for dinner because there are really no other dinner options in the area. So, let s be specific:- the restaurant gave us an 8:30 pm reservation and it was way too late for them. When we got our food the end of shift cleaning already started.- salad was sad - we didn t want any ranch dressing from commercial container so we asked for olive oil and vinegar - they didn t have any.- the signature dish recommended by the waitress was tasteless and tough.- beautiful sunset was accenting dirty windows. We ended up going back to the hotel and eating lunch leftovers.

They do such a fantastic job of maintaining beautiful trails during peak wildflower season. We've been coming here for years and will be coming back again and again. The cabins need to be updated some, and the curtains were tore up and need to be replaced. The restaurant has improved greatly over the years. The team did a fabulous job over the Easter weekend.I highly recommend this place, especially the walking trails and especially in April.

This is a beautifully rustic getaway with outstanding scenic views and spectacular sunsets! the entire staff were super friendly and the servers at the restaurant were awesome. the food was also amazing. we had dinner there twice and breakfact once. We had the Chicken fried Boar, NY Strip, Shrimp tacos and the Pan seared Snapper, all were top quality and delicious! it was just the exact getaway that my husband and I were looking for. Great quality time in a great atmosphere. This place is also VERY dog friendly, We brought our dog with us everywhere we went around the resort. We even had her with us on the back patio at the restaurant. We are already planning our next visit...cant wait!

Very friendly staff. Restaurant food was great. Server was great! We had her both nights we ate there. Music on the patio was excellent. All Trails were groomed but not all were singletrack (just mowed). Lots of stickers and thorns on the trails. All bike tires were flat after riding (even with tubeless tires).

The views are beautiful. The food was mouth watering. We even saw a bald eagle do a fly by as we ate breakfast! The staff are wonderful from start to finish. Oh, the rooms were beautifully appointed and the beds were so comfortable. I could not find any fault at all with this gorgeous property! Thank you so much for the wonderful weekend! It was the perfect wedding anniversary/birthday weekend!

I was hired to be the entertainment for New Years Eve being recommended by a friend. My wife and I made a trip out of it and we had the best time. We made a reservation at the desk for dinner when we arrived quite easily. We had a blast with guests who joined us the Celebration into 2023. Thank you to the staff for a great time and royal treatment, Ms. Amy Reid We celebrated like anywhere else for New Years and met some wonderful people from all over. A big thank you from Two Ten Entertainment!!Matthew is the chef and he did a wonderful job in the kitchen creating masterpieces for our New Year's Eve celebratory offerings. The menu specials were on point for New Years and so tasty! The Pheasant and Surf and Turf did not disappoint. I got a chance to thank him personally and my wife, Rayleen both look forward to enjoying his talents again when we return. Our second day was great, with a country Breakfast in Burnet at Crazy Gals, followed by a leisurely lounge by the pool for a couple of hours and at night we were treated to a phenomenally self taught Astronomer by the name of Jim Sheets who indulge our silly questions about Star Trek and shared some great information about planetary systems, and let us look at several planets and moons through his great telescopes. He talked about the materials in the universe and our small position in the ever expanding galaxy.I had no idea what to expect when I arrived but we were very surprised at the calming atmosphere and the lack of light and technology escape the grounds provided. This is a great place to relax and get back to the simple pleasure of natural enjoyment instead of technology focused entertainment for the whole family.Best place in Texas to catch sunsets from the patio by the hall and enjoy campfire nights toasting marshmallows.

We booked a premium cabin at the resort, this it not a resort or hotel. This is a camp ground with a few amenities that are closed. It was advertised 2 queen beds, they were full sized. The heater was not sufficient for the cold. For the price you re better off renting Air B&B. This is one step above tent camping. Barely. The restaurant was over priced and the food was cold and over cooked. The management was not helpful when we needed to leave a day early due to sickness. They would not credit, or refund, for future. $300 down the drain.

I want to give 5 stars! I really do, this place is beautiful, well kept, great hiking trails, clean pool, the list goes on However, my 2 reasons for a 4star.1. They offer kayaking on their event calendar as an everyday thing, just need to call 24hrs in advance. But they do not offer this daily, even in advance as they stated & that was frustrating.2. The amount of flies, flying around in the dining area was beyond annoying & gross. The place itself was clean despite spider webs way up high, but we truly did not understand why so many flies were inside the dining area. It was a bit concerning. We had no issues with flies as we were running in & out of our room & leaving the door open to load/unload, nor being bothered by them when having a picnic lunch, walking the trails, sitting at the pool, sitting on the back porch etc. so to have that amount in the dining area, which isn t even open at all hours, again - concerning & wasn t very pleasant. The food was exceptional, Alli was an absolute doll, an excellent server! The gentleman we had at breakfast was also amazing. I unfortunately forgot to get his name. :(But overall, will definitely return! This place is one of a kind

What a great experience. Great spot to view the beautiful lake sunsets. Customer service was stellar, they treat you as if they've known you forever. The rooms were clean, but we had a tiny fridge. Probably enough to fill 6 cans of soda. Small drawback, but the bar has music all day. It was nice to sit, relax and enjoy the music and gorgeous views. Will absolutely, 100% return for a nice getaway.

my third time visiting canyon of the eagle, while it was just as beautiful as always, some noticeable changes were very profound. staying in their RV site, we found that the rules for using the resort amenities had changed, the price for firewood was exorbitant at $18 for 4 small slivers of wood. now charging for access to the observatory for stargazing was a surprise, but still found to be extremely worth it. rumors flying of new owners coming in, I'm hoping that the changes will be positive and am willing to give them another shot under New management.

When we arrived the first night and went to the restaurant, they were out of almost everything we would have ordered. Ordered my grandson a grilled cheese and the cheese wasn t even melted. Tried to go back the next morning and have breakfast but all they offered was a small selection on a buffet. We were the only ones in the restaurant, my grandson son is a special needs child. The wait staff asked the Chef if he could make a breakfast burrito for him, which is what my grandson wanted, and he refused. We never went back the entire stay. We had to go in town and get food. Also, there is no microwave in the room, so we couldn t heat up food. The wait staff was very apologetic, but the so called Chef needs people training!

We had plans to travel for New Years and Southwest airlines had other plans. So we decided to take an impromptu trip up to the Hill Country. Someone we met in Marble Falls suggested we should shoot up to Eagle...... hhhmmmmmmSo we did!!!! We had gotten the day pass with observatory and made dinner reservations for New Years Eve.Shelby was our first contact over the phone, then with Tammy at the restaurant. Nothing short of exceptional! Had alot of great info to share and very helpful. When we got to the gate, I believe her name was Gena, was very helpful in giving us the was of the land. We spent time scoping out the camp grounds, cabins, walked trails, and took a walk by the lake as the sun set. Beautiful!!!!After the sun went down, we made our way to the observatory where we met our astrology expert. Scott I believe?Extremely informative! I am very amateur star gazer, but what he expanded on was both fun and exciting. We had a fairly warm night, that was very clear. We had the opportunity to see Saturn and her rings, blue Neptune, Jupiter and the four Galilean Moons, Uranus, then Mars, capping off the night with a view of the Orion Nebula. I recommend this event to visitors of all ages. Truly spectacular. Then off to dinner. Food was good, drinks were stiff, and the New Year ambiance was great. The staff did a great job putting together a fun and entertaining night! We were only visiting, next time will stay!
