Walked into Silver Buffalo Saloon in Buffalo Gap, Texas! Was a bit drafty but you could certainly feel the Texas pride saloon vibe. Menu was packed with options. Service was phenomenal! Food was Spectacular! Go Texas! Food temperature and flavor was on point. The Scottish meat pie was a first for us. It was a nice doughy and meaty collaboration! Chicken fried steak had a great flavor and Texas Supersized. We will definitely return! Prices were perfect for the portion size. You also can t beat the beautiful drive into Buffalo Gap! Make sure to stop and check out the Buffalo Gap village. Thanks for the Awesome meal! Silver Buffalo Saloon

The space is big, the seating is comfortable, and the food is great! We all shared wings (great) and the jalapeno poppers (delicious). I ordered shrimp, and it came with 2 sides. I chose the jalapeno corn, which turned out to be my favorite thing I ate that night, and fried okra. Very generous serving of okra! The buffalo chips starter was great. Someone got that as their meal. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here.

Finally tried out after wanting to go for so long!! Everything was great! We had asada fries, burger, chicken strips, pizza, and mac'n'cheese. My okra was so good and tasted like homegrown! The littles (8 yrs old) ended up eating the pizza. 1 ate half by himself. They really like it. The other food was all good too. Enjoyed the open space (especially with kids you feel like sometimes you're too close to other families)Plus everyone played pool too!!!We'll be back to check out the wings and onion rings next......

As a transplant from the humble hills of California my wife and have spent the better part of a year searching high and low for a restaurant who wasn t afraid to be bold. The Silver Buffalo Saloon has taken the mantel in all things food, we ordered k-bobs, salmon, wings, a burger, asada fries, fried pickles and mushrooms. The appetizers rolled out comfortably ahead of the main dishes giving us plenty of time enjoy the asada fries which were completed with 100% accuracy, fries perfectly seasoned and crispy, cheese was gooey and the steak bits were packed with flavor. There was not a single dish that tasted the same and the k-bobs were accompanied by earth shattering flavor and a skillful execution on the steak, juicy with a citrus burst with each bite. The cheeseburger was not ashamed of being what it was, the meat was seasoned with another flawless execution on the crust of the burger, the homemade bun nestled the entire burger crafting this treat into supreme greatness. Even though the salmon skin had been abandoned, the fillet was wonderfully soft and juicy dancing on the pallet like it never missed a lesson. The sides could have been their own stand up dish each carefully seasoned with care ensuring there was not single moment of joy missed. Our server Debbie, was patient, entertaining and not afraid to make suggestions on what we might enjoy. Our only regret was that we had zero room for desert! Wonderful place and a repeat customer they have created!

The chicken fried steak is to die for. Literally best in Abilene!! My girlfriend got the salmon 10/10. For dessert you HAVE to get the brownie sundae made locally by the sweetest old lady!!! Get Rosa as your bartender and make your experience the best!!

First time out and we loved it! The drive out was beautiful and well worth it! The sign said be ready to wait and we were but we didn't have to wait very long. The service was great our server Debra was so friendly and attentive. They had four call ins and still all the servers were smiling and doing a great job. We had fried pickles and chips and queso and salsa for appetizers and both were great. Our entrees were CFS and Chicken fried chicken so good! Best we ever had! The gravy and seasoning on both were so flavorful! We both had Mac and cheese which was also the best we have had! It was very busy but the place was big and it wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation. We will be back!

Ok update. Don't let your wait staff work while they are sick. Bringing food to the table and coughing is a real business killer. All it takes is one video. Not 5 stars today, noon 9-29-2023.Wow, you gotta go here! Remember, they are not fast food, just great food.

Silver Buffalo Saloon is worth the short drive from Abilene. Food is made fresh and overall was pretty flavorful. The Buffalo chips are loaded with a ton of cheese and what felt like an entire heard of pigs worth of bacon. The potatoes were thin and crispy and not thick and mushy like most places. The queso appitizer, while thick was a tad bland it could have used some seasonings or even some pico, overall it was pretty average queso. For entrees, we had a smothered chicken and a crispy chicken sandwhich. The smotherd chicken was cooked perfectly with great grill marks and smothered with queso and pico. It was extremely juicy and seasoned well. For side, we went with the mac and cheese and jalapeo cream corn. The mac and cheese was again average and pretty bland needed something to make it stand out seasoning or some cheddar or gouda melted on top or even some pepper. But the star of the sides is the jalapeo cream corn it had so much flavor and was extremely delicious. It definitely overshadowed the mac n cheese. Our 2nd entree was the crispy chicken sandwhich, and like the smothered chicken, it was cooked perfectly and was overflowing with delicious juicy flavor, not over or under cook at all just perfect. The bun was made fresh in house according to the waitress, and you could tell. The onion rings we upgraded to were worth the extra dollar and might be the best in Abilene it would be a toss-up between here and Larry's Better Burgers on who has the best in Abilene.Service was excellent food came out got when it was ready and water glasses were kept full. All in all a great experience. We did have to take a star off for a few items. There is 50 cent charges for the salsa with the Buffalo chips and a 50 cent charge for ranch with the sandwhich, even though we didn't ask for either. Additionally there was a charge for credit card usage so be aware.

Sign on the door says the aren't fast and that's for sure. Food was decent but not great. Server was very nice but seemed to have too much to do, perhaps short staffed.

I went four times and really enjoyed the food. However, I won't return due to poor service. Three of those times something was wrong or forgotten on my order. The last time, they weren't very busy but the waitress only came to my table twice. Once when I ordered and once to bring the bill. My drink was empty before my food came so I ate my meal with no beverage. I was finished eating for 15-20 minutes before she returned to bring the bill.

Dive bar, 2 pool tables, nothing fancy. BUT the food was delicious. The jalapeo poppers were perfect for everyone to enjoy, not hot (I'm a pepper head so I wanted more heat)so all the table enjoyed. The meat pie was stellar. Chicken fried was outstanding topped with jalapeo gravy. The steak fingers rival Buddy's(if you know you know). And I had the hot chicken sandwich so messy but soo good. Yes I ate off of everyone's plate.

Fantastic experience. My friends and family look forward to eating here ever so often, and we are always satisfied. Great food, an atmosphere you rarely find anywhere anymore, and wonderful service. They have gone out of their way to accommodate my service animal this evening with a dog bowl with iced water, replaced my friends dessert after it was accidentally dropped, and were very attentive with refills and all the standards. All without having to ever be asked. I had fried chicken and banana pudding cheesecake, both of which I highly recommend.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is awesome. It is a wide open bar and restaurant with a full bar, TVs, and pool tables. All of the food was great! The ladies waiting tables did a good job and we're friendly and willing to help. Give this place a try and you'll be back!

It was our first girls' lunch at the Silver Buffalo Saloon, and we really had a great time. Going in, I missed the sign on the door, but my girlfriends told me about it, stating that the service isn't gonna be fast but good and take time to smell the roses, and truly that about summed things up. Our server, Rosa, was cool and attentive. We were chilling, laughing, and talking when the food actually came out much faster than we expected.I asked about the chicken pot pie I saw on Facebook, and Rosa checked, and they had some. It was delicious, the crust was perfect and slightly flaky, and perfectly browned, and the filling was hearty and the epitome of comfort food because I felt fat and happy. I just rubbed my stomach and licked my lips thinking about it. Ummm the jalapeos corn and green beans were good, too. I hesitated on the green beans because so often they're not cooked with any soul when I eat out, but Rosa reassured me they're her favorite. And yes, they're now one of mine too because they were delicious with real bacon, and I think onions, garlic, and whatever seasonings they were delicious. My friends said they enjoyed their chicken fried chicken and asada fries, too. Their dishes looked good, but I can only speak personally on my dish. When I told a friend we were going, she highly recommended her favorite dish, the smothered chicken. Taste varies for all of us, but good eating is simply good eating.Oh, I almost forgot the delicious dessert, the banana pudding pie. I think she called it that, with the Chessmen cookies and everything. It was a dessert that dreams are made of and a nice way to end a memorable lunch.

Oh how far you have fallen my dear Buffalo! Your food used to be wonderful. Today it was far from it. No one in our party of eight had a good experience. The onion rings and the steak fingers were cooked in old grease and overcooked. The okra was way undercooked to the point that the breading was still dough in places. The menu said that the steak fingers came with two sides and gravy. When the bill came, we had been charged $6 for a half-filled bowl of salad that we ordered as one of the included sides.. The waitress told us there was only one side included. To add insult to injury, they had charged 50 cents for the gravy. None of those things were revealed ahead of time in the menu, nor did the waitress tell us. I could go on and describe the faults with other menu items, but you get the idea. To top it all off, when we discussed these things with the waitress it was met with no comment and apparent unconcern . Sadly, I fear that this Buffalo will become extinct if they don't change their ways.

This place is sooooo good!! It was recommended to my grandpa, so we went for lunch. The server, Maddie, was very friendly, and the food looked amazing when she brought it out. Best part, it tasted just as good as it looked! Great flavor, perfectly seasoned, good portions, prices are fair. Highly recommend!!!

I had the grilled shrimp served on delicious seasoned rice. That dish was amazing. I had a baked potato and a salad as sides. Those were both really good. The salad had tomatoes, lettuce, purple onions, cheese and maybe a few other things. It was very good. My husband had the chopped steak, French fries and red beans. He really enjoyed them all Our server was friendly and attentive. It s a sure bet that we will be back very soon!

Food was great. We were there a little after 1 on a Saturday afternoon and they were steadily filling up. Food was great and got to us quickly despite a sign on the door warning of slow service. Margarita was not good at all but there was no bartender on duty so that may have had something to do with it. We'll definitely go back.

What a awesome place to go. The atmosphere is a great experience. We waited a bit for service , but we are also from a small town. Never in a hurry. Everything thing from the fried mushrooms and ranch. To the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken was down home goodness along with all the sides. Madi our waitress was awesome. She never miss a beat. That's a compliment coming from a former waitress of many years. Signed Rex and Tammy Odom.
