Had a great experience with Scott fixing my Dodge Truck. They gave me a fair price and it only took 3 days to fix where everyone else was taking 3 - 4 weeks just to look at it. Will go back when I need work on my truck!!!!

I started using this mechanic because Henna Chevrolet is just a long drive from my house, and since now I don't drive medium duty trucks and drive one ton pickup trucks, there's a convenience factor. If you have a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup truck this is the best place to go. I like dealing with Scott because his customer service skills, patience and knowledge are on par or better than Henna's.When it comes to price, you can expect to be charged fairly. If anything, your initial quote will be higher than your end result total bill. Recently, my quote for labor was actually higher than the actual labor hours were to get the job done. Even though I had no ability to know how many labor hours actually went into the job, Scott discounted the rate, because it was done in less time than expected. If you need a diesel mechanic in Buda, Kyle, San Marcos, Austin, or the local I-35 corridor area, look no further than Driftwood Diesel. These guys probably don't need the advertisement because they are slammed 24/7. The only thing I would advise a potential customer to do is call in beforehand to make sure that they aren't backed up because they have a lot of business.Thank you Driftwood Diesel

I'm glad that they were local. They replaced my crankcase filter and checked & cleaned my EGR Valve systems. They are reasonably priced as well. Thank you guys for completing the work quickly. I'll be sending customer's over to Driftwood Diesel for sure.

I brought my 1997 Ford 7.3 in due to a pesky diesel fuel leak somewhere in the valley of the engine. George (the gentleman working the front of the office) was straight forward with me from the start. I appreciated his honesty and direct communication. When it was my turn, they started working on my truck just when they said they would. They replaced the leaking fuel pump and replaced the recommended hoses and I was back on the road. When I got home to inspect the work and clean up the leaking diesel mess under the hood, I discovered Driftwood Diesel took the time and attention to clean and spray all four of my battery terminals, and completely wash and degrease my motor! It was clean! I appreciated their attention to detail and taking their time to fixing my truck right! Good customer service is hard to find these days, but I feel I found it at Driftwood Diesel. They earned by business as a future customer. Thank you Driftwood Diesel.

The staff at Driftwood are amazing. Very friendly staff that kept me updated throughout my repair process. Prices are very fair but their customer service and attention to detail are outmatched. After repairing my fuel leak on my 1995 F250 7.3l, they went so far as to clean the engine and engine compartment. Trucks runs and looks great. Customer for life for sure.

My work box truck diesel was having issues where it needed to be looked by a professional mechanic. I took the truck for a full diagnostic service and it turned out, that it needed a glow plug and new fuel injector. So of course why not have it fixed if the issue was minor repair and not a engine overhaul. Keep this in mind the the truck was running but it had a few knocks while driving but still ran great. So the repair was done, but then later I get the dreaded call that it needed a new engine. What was originally going to cost me $700 now turned out to be a $9,000 job? So of course I said NO THANK YOU!!! and I'll take the truck back please. $700 later and about one month into it I get the truck back from them after going back and forth, about why did it go from a plug and injector job to a whole new or used engine. At this time the truck no longer runs when it use be running good. Now it no longer runs and blows more smoke then a local motive choo choo train. It goes to show if it's not broken, why try to fix it. I believe they're not fully capable of fixing more complicated diesel machine other than your standard diesel pick-up truck.

I Have taken my truck there 7 times now. So i like the work they do there. I dont feel like im always going into a diesel hot rod shop where you embarrassed if your not gonna drop 20k into a motor. Had a part go bad with 50k miles, they warrantied the part and there work, These guys are stand up guys that stand behind there work, and understand not every truck is a hot rod some work for a living. Chris and George have always done me and allot of customers right.

Chris set up his shop in Buda over a year ago but I just found him a few months ago (work on that marketing Chris!). First he went the extra mile to swap out my AirDog for a FASS and did some things other shops would never do. I don't want to say exactly what he did because I don't want everyone asking him to go the similar things since it's not the type of thing he wants to offer as a service. On my second trip I had him adjust the valves my my 09' Ram 3500 and swap in a Red Head Steering box. He also fixed some wires in my door for the power window. A few other minor things were done as well.2/21/14 was my third trip. My front engine cover had started to leak at the bottom. It looked like the repair was going to be $500 and a few days before he could get to it. I offered Chris some extra money if he was willing to interrupt his weekend plans for my 911 repair so I wouldn't miss out on any work. He went ahead and did the repair and the bill was only $300! Most shops would never backtrack on a repair that gets done way under budget but he did. Chris even did a few things to help me not end up stranded at his place while he fixed my truck. I don't want to say exactly what he did to help out because once again it's not a service he seeks to offer but he did it because I was in a bind.Chris was a Ford mechanic for years so not only does he know the Cummins, and Dmax motors but he's a Ford 6.0 & 6.4 Guru as well. It's hard to find an honest Diesel mechanic you can trust to work on your $10,000 engine.Chris had a 6.7 Cummins motor torn down to just a bare block in his shop that was his current project. Most shops in Austin will not do complete engine tear downs because it's more work then they care to do or can handle. Years ago I could not find a shop to rebuild my Ford 7.3 in all of Austin but now I know where to go if I need anything from a minor fix to a major tear down.Stay away from that expensive dealer and gas shops that have no business trying to work on Diesels. Go to Chris at Driftwood Diesel in Buda and he will get you taken care of. This is the first full service Diesel shop we have had in the south Austin/Buda/Kyle area since I moved here in 99'. This area was way past due for a guy like Chris to hang his shingle here.

Chris and Jorge are the best diesel mechanics in Texas, if you have a 6.0L, 6.4L, 7.3L, 6.7L, you name it they can fix it, they bring these engines back to life. They have always taken care of my diesels, and I do not trust anyone else, not even Ford...

Jorge advised me in detail what the repair would entail and an accurate price. He called to tell me they found other issues and sought approval before proceeding beyond the original estimate. Top notch customer service. Highly recommend Driftwood Diesel!

Well if you want your truck to leak more tranny fluid after you bring it in this is the place to go. Or not observing faulty pulleys. Just didn't feel like they were a serious facility. More of a hobby shop. For basic run thru of a vehicle and tranny service it took 3 weeks. I will not be returning.
