I don't know what everyone is complaining about (yeah I kind of do; Play stupid games WIN stupid prizes!), we had nothing but the most positive experience with this towing company. The office staff are friendly, professional, and answer right away every time! They are just hard working people too like the rest of us.Thank You Excel Towing for being there for us when my daughter got rear-ended and we needed you.And also Thank You for being there as well when other citizens are not being such good citizens to others.

Probably the worst towing company I ve ever dealt with :) I was towed from a parking lot across from CVS which I fully take responsibility for as it was a pay lot, however the website would not pull up on my phone and I tried for a good 10 minutes before deciding it wasn t going to work and I have the flu, so all I needed was to run inside and grab my prescription and go. Which is exactly what I did, not even 5 minutes I was in there and came back out and my car was towed meaning they were literally waiting in the parking lot to tow someone. I called excel towing and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and I was so overwhelmed, so I hung up and had to get an Uber in the rain all because I just wanted my medicine that took me 5 minutes to get. Mind you, the towing yard is less than 10 minutes from where I was towed and I was virtually right behind them, so I was charged $321 for them to drive my car 10 minutes from where it was parked and have it a total of 15 minutes! I fully understand enforcing parking rules and I even understand having to pay a reasonable fee but almost $400 for having my car for 15 minutes is literally insane. Don t bring any business here. I m very thankful that I can make that back come rent, but doing this to people in this economy is just sad. You guys should really be ashamed. Imagine if it was your kid .

A very, very predatory towing company. Charged over $300 for a 5 mile tow and impound of 20 minutes. We parked in the wrong spot for 15 minutes, gotcha, but just ridiculous. If you re an out of towner reading this mad af, I feel your pain.

Horrible company, complete scam. We were inside CVS for less than 5 minutes and the car was towed so they must literally be waiting in the lot to tow people. I don t know how it s even physically possible to tow a car that quickly. Went to pick up the car 15 mins later and was charged $350 and they were very rude. The office is in a shabby run down house and there was a long wait to pick up the car and while waiting outside 30 minutes saw them tow in at least 5-6 other cars. The person in line ahead of us was also towed from the same lot and she was inside CVS for less than 2 minutes. When it was finally my turn to go inside the office and pay for my car, it took over 20 mins to get checked out because they kept stopping to answer the phone from other people calling about their cars.

very good costumer service. the woman over the phone was so sweet and calming because i was super stressed out. the man that came (feel super bad i can't remember his name) was super sweet and reassuring throughout the whole situation especially since the other towing company was rude and said they couldn't help before stranding me causing me to call excel instead. will definitely be recommending them to all my friends!

Unethical business... The tow truck driver knew the parking tag was on the dash but he lied and said he couldn't see it so he towed my car... I will consider the $300 I paid them as a donation since they are desperate for money...

Not from here and parked next to a busy shopping center and was not aware that the parking wasn't for all customers and when I came out of the store my car was gone. I had absolutely no idea who had took it and reported it stolen. Later I found out from the store employees that excel towing had towed my car. When I called to find out about my car they told me it would be 360$ to get my car back. I explained to them I wasn't from here didnt know anybody and had no way of getting to my car. They didn't care. Told them I wasn't aware of the towing zone again cause I was not from there and they still didn't care. They have no sympathy for anyone's situation they just want thier money.....And before you can say I wasn't a customer... I was the one you left stranded.... the car may be in my husband's name and he did come to pay your ridiculous fee to retrieve "MY CAR" but I assure you I was the customer... Your company is a rip off and you ALL should be ashamed of yourselves...I wasn't even in the store for two minutes. So that tells me that you lay and wait to screw the next person as a way to make an income... YOU ARE ALL WORTHLESS INDIVIDUALS!!

Very hard to work with. Hard to get appointment to see my daughters wrecked vehicle. Only 1 person can see the car. Will not accept payments over phone. Had to take off work twice to go up there. Wanted $100.00 more than other towing companies in area to tow it from their yard to my house. Would not use this company. This company was only used because car was towed after accident by police.Service: Car towing

Horrible .do not use! My father was recently in a wreck and they were recommended by the College Station police. Why, I have no idea! My father made an appointment to retrieve his personal items out of his truck and my husband drove him there. My father is 88 years old and this company refused to let my husband go with my father and help him get his personal items. They allow one person at a time and you have to be on the vehicle owners insurance. Some young guy drove my father in a golf cart to his truck and my father unloaded several items and brought them back to my husband s truck and my husband unloaded them. My husband asked if the young guy had helped my father and he had not. My husband told the young guy to help my father unload the tools from his toolbox because he was 88 years old and didn t need to be doing that by himself. The guy did help but, my gosh, you shouldn t have to be told to help if you re refusing to let my husband in to help him. Do NOT USE THEM!!

Darrel needs a raise!!! I was stranded for 6 plus hours dealing with some janky roadside assistance company that gave me the run around on two previous schedulings to come pick up or fix flat but they never showed. Finally got in touch with Excel for towing and he came to the rescue. God bless u sir and ur family. Merry Christmas!!! Thanks for getting me off the highway and to the Toyota dealership.

As a business owner looking for a towing partner I would look somewhere else, as Ive seen two examples that they are incompetent as a partner. I had a roommate whose car was parked at her own apartment with the correct tags who was towed anyway, and had to work together with the property management for 2 hours while they tried to explain to Excel that they impounded a car incorrectly. Secondly when the car was finally returned (They still charged her, the property eventually just decided to pay for it) it was so scratched up that she had to pay extra to get it fixed. Overall just a terrible place with management that doesn't prioritize its partners, businesses and apartments please look for other towing partners because this one is only going to cause issues.

Very unprofessional company. Multiple calls made with messages left and no one with any authority returns calls. This is a very shady way to run a business. I would not recommend at all!!! I ve always heard that towing companies are snakes but this one tops the list!

This driver knocked over one of those orange pylons on 2818 between Bush and Hwy 60 My guess is they were heading to the lot. Fortunately, the pylon didn't bounce into the road and there were no workers nearby.Steer clear of these. He was swerving all over the place!!Service: Car towing

A driver on Villa Maria just ran a red light about 1:15 am 8/20. Fortunately I could could tell how fast he was going, so I decided not to turn because had I turned in front of him he would have hit me. I had the green light. And I blew my horn at him. Those mfs need to do their job without being reckless. Same thing with RoadRunner ran the stop sign almost hit me, blew my horn and I called on his ssa. Trying to get to a wreck, but will cause one.

A VERY unprofessional company. They towed my wife's car that was parked AT the cafe while she was waiting on the order from the same cafe (i.e. she was a legitimate customer of that cafe). The car was parked there for 9 minutes. Clearly, they are trying to make money and rip off innocent people. They wouldn't even listen to us.Service: Car towingService: Car towing

They towed my car from my apartment complex, but not only that they opened my window to take down the pass and when I came to pick it up, somehow the window was open and they had made the parking pass fall. Also, the people working there were rude and condescending for absolutely no reason. One still pays for this service, so it would be nice if they had good customer service and be nice to people because they get paid to tow your car, either if you call or they decide to tow your car somewhere.

Had to pickup personal belongings after a total loss collision. Made an appointment as stated and staff was professional and let me get all my stuff with no fuss. Didn't need to do anything else as insurance would handle everything else. Just had to sign in and provide ID and I was good to go!

Terrible excuse for a company. They're vultures who survive off legal extortion from college students.

Excel Towing is the rudest place I ve ever dealt with as far as customer service. They also make there own rules and act like it s the law. I wanted to pay for my employee s truck to get out of there impound after he was in a wreck. They told me I can t pay for it without having my wrecker driver there to get it. My wrecker driver was about two hours away. They told me that if I paid for it without him being there they would impound it again! All together just a horrible place to do business with!Service: Special vehicle towing

I have used them several times in 10 plus years and never disappointed. Today, I was responsible for causing a minor non injury collision and the police officer asked me if I had a preference for a towing truck. I told him I was requesting Excel Towing. They were an hour late? The police dispatcher forgot to make the call to Excel Towing. Tow truck driver knew his business, very courteous and gave me a ride to their yard.

Towed my son s truck from Redpoint in college station. They re on a tow mission to see how many vehicles they can tow apparently. This vehicle was registered and they felt like they did me a service by discounting the fee. I wish I could ve given them -5 stars the worst business owner I ve ever come across.Service: Car towingService: Car towing

Unprofessional company and people that will do what they need to screw you. They must be in good with someone in the city or something to have a towing gig like that for the city. Sus.

They are easy to access from the road, so there is no complicated entries. However, you have to set an appointment to retrieve your things and they keep your ID until you come out the yard. They look a little raggedy on the inside, but I figure that all tow yard businesses look like that because they ain't trying to impress anyone.Pros: Nothing was stolen out of my car while it was there.

My car had an issue that got my stuck on the side of road before a storm. Excel handled my towing situation seamlessly. Yessica was very helpful, took my information and, gave me an affordable rate that saved me from calling around. She sent a tow truck right away. Colt was the driver that took care of my car and suggested some helpful tips for my insurance. Amazing service from both of them, I will definitely be contacting Excel for any future towing services that our business needs.Service: Car towing

Horrible customer service. Sketchy business practices. I would use any other service over this business. I would give 0 stars if I could.EDIT... Response to owner... You are correct in saying that it was not my vehicle that was towed, however it was my girlfriend's. I understand that you are trying to dismiss this bad review, but everything in my review still stands. I was in your place of business and was treated extremely disrespectfully by the staff, and especially by the crew working in the lot. To elaborate on one of the issues I encountered: we arrived at the excel towing office one afternoon and my girlfriend was forced to go to the back of the lot by herself with sketchy looking men. I was not allowed to go in her place because it was her vehicle, and I was not allowed to go with her because of a Covid Policy, (even though none of the workers were wearing masks or social distancing!) Believe me, I clearly voiced my concerns to the staff working in the lot. The staff responded by shrugging their shoulders, laughing, and rolling their eyes. One final note, on top of the others issues I encountered in this place (which I do not have space to elaborate on), I would say BEWARE to women.Service: Car towing

Our daughter had a horrible experience with this tow company. Not only are the office staff rude, they yell at people. If despicable treatment of customers isn't bad enough, they also add bogus charges to your bill and won't release your car until you pay said charges. Her car was on their lot (NOT impounded, although they charged for that) for about 24 hours, and they made her pay $425 before they'd release it. Then they tried to take a "$15 tip" (their words) so they wouldn't have to give change for paying in $20 bills. Don't be fooled by the "GIG EM's" they leave in their replies to negative reviews - these people possess ZERO Aggie spirit and know nothing of the Code of Honor. :(_______Response to owner:The fact remains that our daughter was quoted $185 to tow and $20/day storage by your driver. How does that equate to the $425 that you forced her to pay? Why do your staff yell at people? Why did you charge her for an additional day when your receipt shows you released the car just 16 minutes beyond the 24-hour mark? Why not offer to give her change later during business hours instead of helping yourself to a "tip?" She drove directly to your location once she got off work after midnight to try to avoid accruing extra fees, and yet this is how you treated her.Treating people with rudeness and inflating charges while they're experiencing a crisis is disdainful. Such behavior is an embarrassment to TRUE Aggie spirit - it's no wonder you have so many negative reviews.

This place towed my bike, when I called to let them know I was coming to get it the lady on the phone was rude, and very unprofessional. When I got there my motorcycle had been left out in the rain, and had a lot of rust spots, I will be taking action in court for my damaged motorcycle. They charged me 260.00 to get my motorcycle back. That is a rediculous amount to pay for such a small tow.

As a business manager I would say they do a great job. They are hard working, prompt to come to the site and always answer the phone making sure to give updates if delays pop up.As a individual I have used them before when a vehicle was high-centered over a culvert, slowly slipping into a pond. Again, in this situation they were prompt and professional. It is hard to read and write reviews for tow truck companies. Of course if you are going to pick your vehicle up from them after wrongfully parking you are not going to leave a great review, but as a business manager I have worked with other tow companies and can say that in terms of professionalism and ethics Excel is one of the best. Hopefully other companies in the college station area adopt some of their business practices.
