So grateful to the Hovey Family and Hovey Motorcars in Boerne, TX! I was finally able to find my dream car; 1965 Ford Mustang. It was such an enjoyable experience just chatting with the team and learning so much about classic cars .they really know their stuff! No gimmicks, no pressure, surprisingly fair pricing for the gems. The 3-speed shifter was a bit sticky when I bought it and Team Hovey quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue .it runs like a champ. My son now wants a classic Camero instead of a new model so I look forward to working with this family for years to come.

I came in, very nervous and suspicious of every used car dealership, and walked out having a very fulfilling experience. The owner and his family are truly some extraordinary people. It was a true blessing. Forget about the wonderful and easy sale, the people are what I m going back for. Thank you all so much for helping me out. I will be back for our next one.

One of a kind dealership, Where the staff is not pushy for a sale, prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is also patient and works with you if you have any difficulties waiting for your bank to process the paperwork, & most of all this dealership is honest. They recently sold me a Ford Raptor, and Im loving it. Great Veteran friendly establishment.

Since I got my first vehicle back in 2017 Hovey MV has treated me with such kindness and respect. Fast forward to paying off that vehicle I decided it was time to have a 2nd vehicle for my family and Hovey made it happen after that vehicle didn't fit my family after a couple months my family and I went back to Hovey and they went above and beyond to get us a vehicle that suited us best. We appreciate them so much and they will continue to be our first choice when searching for vehicles. They are very family oriented and care about your concerns or if there's anything holding you back they try their very best to work with you and I am forever grateful! This review is long overdue and will be a little lengthy. My wife and I had been looking for our first classic car back in September 2023 and landed on two. One was in Boerne the other in Austin. We figured we would stop by Hovey on our way up to Austin because frankly the more desirable car (we thought at the time) would be the '68 Mustang in Austin. We stopped in at Hovey and they had the 1965 AMC Rambler Ambassador 990H parked up front, shined and ready to go. We thought to ourselves "damn, someone already bought it". Thankfully, we were wrong. As soon as we stepped out and walked around the car, we knew it was the one that we wanted. We were warmly greeted by Todd Hovey and informed him we were interested in the Rambler. He said "let me take you over to Rick Sr., cause that was his personal car". We proceeded into the office of Rick Sr. (dude is a trip) and he shared the history about the car and mentioned that he picked it up from Austin a year or so prior.Todd, then took us back out to show us the car in more detail and was honest of the fact that the newly placed carburetor needed to finish being tuned. They started up the car and indicated that they would ensure all is tuned and would even install a glass pack to give it the rumble we were looking for.After briefly discussing it with my wife we started the process to purchase. We arrived the next day and met with Rick Jr. who handles the finance piece. We informed him of our desire to participate in a benefit function that would occur the following weekend, which left them about 4 days to get it all tuned and ready to go. We were happy when the call came in on Wed (3 days later) that it was all ready to go!We swung by and picked up the car that afternoon. I headed back 45 mins into town and it drove like it came off the showroom floor. One issue I realized as it was turning dusk was that the headlights weren't coming on and the horn wasn't sounding (shame on me for not checking before I left). Still, I excitedly parked the car at home and decided that I would surprise the kids at school pick-up the next day. To say they were excited is an understatement! I did realize while waiting in the school pick-up line that leaving a nearly 60 yr old car idling isn't the best of ideas as the coolant began to overflow.I contacted Hovey that afternoon and they indicated to bring it by when I could so they could check it out. I took it back up to Boerne that Wed evening worried that I wouldn't be able to get it back in time for the Sat morning function. Thankfully, I got a call on Friday afternoon that it was ready. Todd educated me on the fact that this vehicle didn't have an overflow, but as a courtesy they installed one. Also, the issue with the lights and horn were a simple contact issue due to corrosion.We took the old girl back home just in time for the Sat morning event. The event turned out to be a huge success with a ton of oohs and aahs as Ramblers are a pretty rare gem even around the classic car scene.We've now had the car for nearly 4 months and have already put over a 1000 miles on it, despite having an original 45k miles. My entire family has enjoyed cruising around downtown and hitting up the local car meets. We will continue to enjoy it for many years to come and expect to keep it in it's original condition!Thank you Hovey Motorcars for such a great first time experience, and don't worry, we'll certainly be back!!

Great experience start to finish. Excellent, no pressure customer service who also went above and beyond. The staff was friendly, helpful, and this was by far the EASIEST, most pleasurable buying experience I have ever had. My Jeep had a sensor that went off (Used 2015 Jeep Wrangler) and even though I bought as is, they still helped to make it right. I could not recommend this place enough. From the owner to the staff you will not be disappointed. They really do have something for everyone and every budget.

Bought a used 2014 ram there recently. In beautiful condition. Engine light came on days later and the Hovey family was quick to address the issue. Since I purchased as is without warranty they could have just brushed me off. Instead the problem was found and taken care of. It is a high mileage vehicle so I will certainly be purchasing an extended warranty. Hovey motor cars is helping me find the best warranty for the price. They are in the process of completing an 8 bay service center on site so they will be able to quickly and professionally service what they sell passing the savings on to you.as compared to to large dealerships. Not taking my vette to to GM service center anymore. Hovey has my business now.Thanks again to the Hovey familyMerry X- mas.Cheers! Cmore and family.

Taylor was my sales consultant, the team was awesome, they made me feel welcomed. I don t buy from a company, I buy from a good salesman who makes me feel comfortable enough to move forward and do business. I definitely would purchase another vehicle in the future and refer my family and friends 100%! Thanks again Taylor you are one cool Dude to work with !!!

Hovey motors made my buying experience the best it has been overall. I purchase 1 to 2 cars every 2 years and i can not tell you how easy they made the process. Taylor was good with communication and Rick streamline the paperwork to make it easier and faster than ever. The owner, Rick not only sold me a truck but he made the buying experience personal. He took the time to talk about business practices as well as giving me pointers on my own personal business. They gave me top dollar for my trade and the truck that i purchased was at a good/fair price. I will be a returning customer for sure.

Bought my Shelby gt500 a year ago and I want to say hovey motorcars won t let you down this is the place to go i highly recommend it s like walking into paradise when you open the door to the showroom !! Shoutout to the hovey team.

I just graduated college back in December. I had been driving my previous truck since I was 16 so I was desperate for a reliable vehicle. Rick Jr. took care of me, giving me guidance and advice since I am new to the whole process of buying a vehicle. I knew I wanted 4wd, 4 door, and in my budget range. Not only did he meet my needs but he went above and beyond with a 2012 Chevy Z71 with only 57,000 miles on it.On the flip side, Rick Sr. displayed great hospitality by keeping my grandma company while I worked out all of the details and paper work with Frank Jr. Thanks again guys, you made my first experience better then I expected!

My husband and I just bought a 2500 from Hovey. Very easy to work with. Called at 5:45pm to check on this truck, they said they had just got it and it was available. The owner met us up there before open the next morning and had the paperwork all ready for us. We were in and out within about 30 minutes and my husband drove off with the just cleaned/detailed truck. Our experience was great and I highly recommend them. Thank you, Taylor and Rick.

Don t waist your time!I hate being lied to and be put on the back burner waiting. Red 2012 Ram 3500 Laramie bought in January 2022 it s now mid August 2022 and they still haven t fixed my seats. I ve called many times and told the same thing. They either need a new upholstery guy or this dude needs to retire, im told he s always on vacation. The truck literally has the covers and the pad when I got it. Fernando knew, the owner knew, the finance guy knew. ITS EVEN ON THE CONTRACT! Claims court is a waist of time but a review will get more attention.-Christian G.

We had a great experience at Hovey Motorcars. Rick and his staff were friendly and helpful. Buying a used vehicle in the past from other dealers was never enjoyable and I never knew if I was getting a good deal. At Hovey I drove away knowing I had.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at HOVEY MOTORCARS , and I feel compelled to share my concerns. I visited this dealership hoping for a smooth and professional experience, but what we encountered was far from it.During our visit, I experienced blatant racism from whom I believe to be Mr. Hovey himself. I was shocked and deeply disappointed by the derogatory comments and discriminatory behavior I encountered. This kind of behavior has no place in any business, let alone a car dealership.I want to make it clear that racism should never be tolerated, and it s disappointing to see a business engage in such behavior. I urge the management of this FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS to address this issue promptly and take steps to ensure that all customers are treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their background or appearance.I hope my review serves as a wake-up call for the dealership to address this serious problem. No one should ever have to endure racism when seeking to make a purchase. I will not be returning to HOVEY MOTORCARS and strongly advise others to consider their options carefully before doing business with this establishment.

Mr. Rich Hovey of Hovey Motorcars is the best!!! He is a huge supporter of the 100 Club of Kendall County. He has purchased car decals and yard signs for the 100 Club that we sell to raise money for the Club. This allows the club to more fully support the First Responders of Kendall County. We truly appreciate his unwavering support in the current climate. Thank you!!!!

I purchased a 2015 C7 Black Corvette from them on 2/10/2022. This was one of the smoothest purchase processes I ve ever had. Everyone I interacted with was professional and kind and made sure I was being taken care of. I worked with Taylor as my Sales Person but also met the owner. You won t be disappointed with this family business. A hidden gem with great vehicles and service.

I buy and collect cars all the time. I came in, in military uniform before work & was never greeted, definitely lacking hospitality. I was told they do not take deposits. Miraculously they take deposits from certain customers. Not customer friendly. I personally would not recommend it to any other car collector or gear head

I purchased a Shelby GT500 from Rich Sr. at Hovey Motorcars and had an incredible experience!It is a family owned and operated dealership and everyone is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in the motorcar business.Rich Sr. was extremely informative about the Shelby brand, and it seemed like I was speaking with Carol Shelby himself!Rich Sr. and Rick worked with me on not only the price but the timeline with which I needed to get into this incredible vehicle.If you are looking for a late model or vintage model car, make sure you stop by Hovey Motorcars and ask for Rich Sr., he is a straight shooter and will give you the honest rundown on any vehicle they have in stock and/or see about sourcing the vehicle you are looking for.I plan to purchase my next 70's model Corvette in a few months and will make Hovey Motorcars my place to shop!Thank you, HOVEY MOTORCARS!

I'm extremely happy with my car buying experience at Hovey Motorcars. Their price for this particular vehicle was the best within a 250 mile radius and the vehicle was in immaculate condition. Justin was a very friendly and helpful salesman, with zero sales pressure. They gave me a great deal on my trade in and even beat my bank's finance rate, saving me money! I love that it is a family owned business. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner Rick Hovey and got a great finance deal from his son Rich. There is no better way to buy a car in the area! The show room and facilities are beautiful.

To start off I was contacted by the Hovey Motorcars because of an add I put online to sell my vehicle. I at first was hesitant to take my car to any dealership because I though I could get more selling privately. Which may have been true, but with a lot more work involved for me that I didn't have time for. So after they called a second time to reach out again I decided to bring my vehicle in for a consignment sale and an estimate. This family owned and operated dealership was fantastic. From the time I walked in to the moment I left, they all were nothing but helpful and accommodating. They worked with me to trade in my vehicle as well as find me a suitable car for my growing family. My son and I also really enjoyed seeing all of the classic muscle and sports cars in the show room!Rich Hovey and his family that I met during the process (Max, Tailor, Rick and Todd!) were all very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I have had a small issue (no big deal) with the vehicle i purchased. They have been very helpful in getting the issue fixed quickly, which they are not obligated to do as it was an AS IS sale.I will be highly recommending Hovey Motorcars to others and they will by my first stop to purchase, and I will be bringing all my future vehicles here first!

Did Hovey Sr sell my '67 Mustang quickly? Yes. But you must have thick skin to work with him. He was VERY crass and rude to me on MANY occasions throughout my dealings with him. The day after I dropped it off and slept on what we had discussed, I had originally said I'd take $22,000 but it didn't sit well with me. This was my Grandmother's car, completely restored and family heirloom. I asked him to change our contract to $25,000 and he wasn't thrilled to do so. I said NO DEAL to anything less and he agreed. He left my car outside when he promised me it would be in the showroom. After catching it twice being left out, he moved it under an overhang on the building for partial shelter. After the sale, he asked me to take less for the car because the Buyer wanted to ship it overseas.....that's the Buyers problem! When he reluctantly cut me a check for the car 3.5 weeks after the sale, he said, "Well here you go. Got you $3,000 over the original price we signed on and no commission paid to me. Hellova deal. Hope you're happy"

Saw a 2002 Corvette for sale and was interested in trading for my 1969 Mustang. My budget was for a straight trade. Although the Corvette was worth a bit more than the Mustang. They made the deal happen and made me extremely happy. Great dealership and a great family. Customer service was top notch. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Thanks again Hovey!

I recently purchased a truck from Hovey motors, selling my 1500 to Hovey motors which they offered me $1,000 less than chevrolet offer. I went with Hovey due to payments which is why I took the lesser offer. Well, after driving the truck, I noticed a few things wrong which they did fix. My problem with this is place is I was lied to, I had a concern with pulling capacity of the new truck which is a 2500. The purpose to upgrade was to pull my camper. The salesman "Taylor" told me it was 13,000 lbs towing capacity when I called in prior to the purchase. After believing him, we purchased the vehicle, few days later I found out it was less than 9500 lbs by looking at the owners manual that came with the truck. I feel like they put on a nice face but will tell you what you want to hear to make a deal. I am positive I would not refer someone there to do business.

Bought a C5 Red corvette. Had a minor issue 2 weeks later, I called dealership spoke with Rick Hovey, without hesitation told me to bring it in . Gave me a rental for a few days . Got my car fixed. I know this can't happen for all customers , however I appreciate them for being responsive and quickly getting my car on point. Treated me like family. I'm enjoying my Red corvette. My experience with Hovey was awesome. There was no pressure at all the salesman showed me everything I wanted to see and eventually I decided to buy my pick up. Being a used vehicle it s always a risk, this turned out to be the best truck I ve ever owned. Rich Sr. was great, great stories and just an easy guy to negotiate with. We came to a price that was mutually beneficial and I will absolutely be buying my next vehicle from him. LOVE ALL THE CLASSICS...maybe one day. Thanks again guys I ll be sure to send anyone I know in the market your way. By the way I bought my truck 2 years back when they were in the San Pedro location, think about the experience every time I hop in and drive off in it so I felt they deserved a great review based on the longevity of the vehicle and the lasting impression their courteousness and professionalism.
