My A/C in my Ford Mustang was not working. Fred and his wonderful team found the problem immediately and fixed it. Fred showed me the part that was not working and explained why. It was very affordable and I am so grateful for their honesty, kindness and professionalism. I definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

I brought my truck to AR Automotive & A/C Repair because I read the reviews. So I gave em a shot. Fred and his staff were so down to earth and able to explain what was wrong with my A/C system. They even stayed working on my truck an hour past closing time because it was my only vehicle. Fred and his staff kept it 1000 and I am grateful for their honesty and hard work. I chose this shop to repair my AC based on the good reviews, but my experience was terrible. It took them over two weeks to do the job. They never called to communicate with me and don't answer the phone a majority of the time. I had to call them literally 43 times over the course of two weeks to get any information at all. After I got home I realized almost all of my change had been stolen out of my change cup which I had covered and grease marks were all over it. The owner offered me less than was stolen. Avoid this place if you can.

Fred was really knowledgeable and explained everything.... I paid a fraction of what I thought it would cost. That's what I thought when we picked up our car. Turns out they smashed a relay in the fuse box causing a short in the air compressor , which quickly burned up and cost me a battery as well. When we took it back to him, he kept it for a month and never fixed anything except kind of fixing the electrical short he caused in the first place. We gave up and took the car elsewhere. I wouldn't suggest using this shop.

Brought 16 charger in for a/c diagnostic and spoke with Fred who was very friendly and professional. He determined there was an a/c failure and gave us a fair price to replace a/c compressor & condenser as well as other necessary components. After paying for repairs & picking up vehicle, I later noticed a noise coming from a/c system that was not there prior to a/c failure. Fred had me bring the vehicle back to go over a/c system thoroughly to determine where the noise was coming from. After hours of diagnosis he determined that the noise had something to do with another part of the system and was unrelated to the repair. He honored their warranty and not only changed out the compressor again to make sure that wasn t the issue, he went over the entire system and did not charge us for anything. I would highly recommend Fred and this company as they re very knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating.

My Toyota a/c could not be repaired properly until we brought it to A/R. These guys are honest, hard working mechanics. They took what we had been told was a very expensive repair and fixed it, charging pocket change in comparison. My husband and I will never trust an a/c repair service as we do Fred and his crew. Read many reviews on auto A/C repair shops in Baytown. Looks like AR was the shop. Spoke with both Fred and Randy about my leaking heater coil. Fred said bring the van in and we will check it out. I had bought and old 2001 fixer upper van for my son to do some traveling. Someone said the AC compressor was bad and I could see where the heater coil was leaking. After the AC test, the compressor was fine. We went the heater core repair route. After removing the heater box, there was discovery work found. Fred invited me into the shop and explained in detail all the issues. He was so up front. While the radiator was out, I had Fred replace the spark plugs, wires and distributor parts. I even had them drop a new radiator in with hoses and new thermostat. All back together and the van runs great with heating and a cold AC. This was all done under my budget. I know my son will be safe on the road now. This shop is JAM UP and highly recommended. I was treated like family and Fred and Randy were great. Paul BServices: Engine repair, Air conditioning

Great service! Fred has helped me sort out my 1990 Ram and its retrofit AC System. A previous shop messed up the installation and AR has got it working better than factory, they are more than happy to explain exactly what they do, answer any questions, and on the off chance something still happens, to have you bring it back in and take care of it immediately. Wouldn t take my truck to an any other shop. Honest guys and highly recommend this shop!Service: Air conditioning

Do not just drive to this place. Call first. I drove 30 minutes. Because the reviews were good. But nowhere on their advertising does it state make an appointment. Walked in and asked if I had an appointment. Plus, the guy wasn't even sure what time workers were getting there. So I wasted my gas and time.

You walk in there and are immediately treated like family. What makes it better is that, they don t beat around the bush. They get straight to the point and don t try to charge your for repairs that you don t need. All around great service and very respectful! I will definitely be using them for future repairs on my vehicle. The ac went out in my van. Fred and his team were able to diagnose the problem after two other shops said there was nothing that could be done. They were very affordable and stand by their work!! If your looking for a honest, professional reasonable mechanic, Chris is your man! The shop exceeded my expectations and his knowledge and patience was appreciated. Went in with no AC thinking it was the 16 yr old compressor and a ton of money. Chris was on it immediately and after 2 hours he found two leaks, replaced some orings recharged the freon and I was done and only charged me $150. and that included explaining everything to me along the way! Definitely give him a shot!

Went in to check what was wrong with my ac cause it stopped working took it here and fred helped me as soon as I got there. Very quick and helpful they tell you exactly what s up with your car and nothing more. They even try to keep the price low depending on how big the problem is!! Chris has been my mechanic for many years, and as a car lover myself, I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He is the absolute best in his field! The car gods have blessed him for sure.In the automotive repair industry, it is rare to find someone of his character, knowledge, and absoulte respect he gives to anyone who walks into his shop.Chris has gone the extra mile on my vehicles more times than I can count. His knowledge and respect for his customers shows with every job he does. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need of any automotive repairs, and do so often. The man loves what he does and once you step foot into his facility, you will never take your vehicle anywhere else.I'm always amazed how quickly he is able to get me back on the road again. This is something that can only be accomplished by a person with his level of experience and the great relationships forged with his parts vendors.Keep up the great work Chris! You are an absolute unicorn in the automotive repair industry and the only guy I recommend. Thank you for always keeping me safely on the road and with ice cold A/C.

I have a dramatic long story it has something of inspirational to me. My issue started at a local firestone location in Channelview, TX after a diagnostic they determined there was a leak on the expansion valve of my fiat 500, and needed to replace the expansion valve.I agree to do the repair but the part wasn t available I was told to call a head for ordering the part on a later day. I did as told . once I got there to pick up my car they told me that my issue was not solved the compressor the evaporating coil and expansion valve needed to be replaced. I got disappointed by this extensive and costly change and left the store confused and disappointed.I looked for a local ac specialist and called Chris Frederick, he patiently listen to my issue and asked to take my car early next morning to diagnose the issue. I was welcomed by Fred a intelligent and personable gentlemen, he wrote up the paperwork for a complete diagnostic, at the same time Chris was attaching the instrumentation to my Fiat. One hour later I left the shop with cold ac, and a charge of $135. It felt to me a sort like a miracle, Chris told me that he only replaced 2 o-rings on the expansion valve.It is my experience that most mechanics would have replaced the expansion valve, to make money on the markup of the part plus labor.I am joyful and overwhelmed to have found a place that acts with integrity and honesty, that replaces the worn o-rings not the whole functioning part or parts to blow up the profit abusing the unknowing customers.This is a reality in today in a blinded profit focused society, so for me this was first a blessing and second a renewing faith in the capacity of goodness of man.Thank you Chris and Fred you guys rock.May the blessing you extended to me be multiplied to you hundred folds.

Wonderful service!! I brought my car to Chris with what I thought was just a small leak. He was able to vacuum and replace refrigerant for a very reasonable price. He also fixed a flap that was stuck shut for no additional charge. Would highly recommend!!

I have a 2017 Tahoe that had really started blowing warm air slowly for about 6 months and then it finally felt like it kicked the bucket. My dad is a mechanic and was pretty sure I just needed Freon. After calling around and hearing all kind of insane prices just to hook the car up for a check I found this place. He got me in immediately, hooked the car up and ran a full diagnostics. What maybe have possibly cost be over $1500 was shown to be unfounded and my car just needed Freon due to sitting for long periods of time (my car was a rental car before I purchased as a certified preowned). He filled the Freon and I walked out spending $300 and it works perfect now. I also feel confident that if the problem came back worse or quicker that the service this gentleman would provide would be exceptional. I am a review reader and I felt this shop deserved some high praise.

Had to have evaporator and compressor replaced. Was done in a professional and timely manner. I dealt with Chris who is the one who did the work. The end price was well under the estimate and more than fair compared to other quotes. He guarantees all of his work. There are not a bunch of inexperienced kids standing around at this shop. When I drove off, I played freezout in my car. This is my new "go to" place

Chris is flat out awesome! I pulled in about 8:30am with my AC blowing hot air and he had me out the door with air blowing at 40 degrees by 10:15. He explained that I had a slow leak and would eventually need to replace my compressor but not right now. He is very reasonable on his prices too! If you want someone who is honest and won t over charge you to fix your A/C, go see Chris at ANCHOR!
