Nasser & Nasrine, the owners, are great! While he (Nasser) may seem rather gruff, he's really a good guy & really knows his stuff. And I trust him to give me the straight scoop - he's told me before that I didn't need certain work done that I thought I did, to his financial detriment. His prices are very fair & he's fast at getting the job done. I really like having a down-home neighborhood repair shop. Sooo much easier & cheaper than the dealership!!! I recommend them to my family & friends.

The most honest and fair mechanics I ve ever worked with. The pricing, speed, communication, and work is excellent. Instead of taking advantage of people who don t know cars, Nasser takes the time to educate you on what is wrong and how it was fixed. He s also very funny. Will never take my car anywhere else

I had my 19-year-old car dropped off after I drove it until it wouldn't drive anymore.Uptown Auto Repair was kind, quick, affordable, and trustworthy. Part of the reason I neglected to take my vehicle in sooner was my trepidation with finding a trustworthy mechanic. Now, I know where to go in the future before things get so bad.I also noticed that they covered a couple of paint chips on my hood to keep it from rusting without me even asking! I cannot fully express how at ease I felt working with them. There are gems and they have a customer for life now!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Wheel alignment, Auto brake replacement

Their estimates are always fantastic and they explain everything every step of the way. Highly recommend. I have a newer car than I'm used to that I want to really take care of so I brought it in to get some preventative maintenance work done, and when I first called to get estimates I was told that some of the work I was asking about might not be necessary but they would take a look. I feel like a lot of shops would just do the work just to make the sale so immediately I felt comfortable bringing my car in. I didn't once feel talked down to which, as a woman is very important when going to a new mechanic. If you need anything done for your vehicle, you *NEED* to head to Uptown Auto. Absolutely incredible owners who bend over backwards to get the job done right. Nassar is the best auto repair place if you need honest work done reasonably. If he can't fix it, he's not going to charge you an arm and a leg trying to either.

Nasser and his wife run a fantastic business. They are kind, easy to talk to and repaired my car very quickly. Nasser stands behind the work he does and when my brakes wouldn't stop squeaking due to rust, he continued to do what was necessary to fix the problem without additional charges and with a smile on his face. My entire family takes their cars to them and won't go anywhere else, in fact when I picked my car up this week, I dropped my father's car off. When the mechanic my family had gone to for over 30 years retired, we had no idea where to go and we consider ourselves lucky to have found Uptown Auto Repair, they are very trustworthy people and I highly recommend them!

Everybody I work with goes to this place for auto repair and now I know why. Friendly, honest people who do excellent work for the fairest price I have ever seen from a mechanic. People who are saying they are overpriced and have bad customer service are WAY off base, and must either know nothing about auto repair or are paid agents from big auto trying to sabotage this amazing, family-run business (just kidding). Also, they will never try to solicit you for extra repairs unless it is completely necessary, but will kindly let you know what to look out for if there is any area of concern. From now on I will be going to Uptown Auto Repair for all of my car troubles as long as I am living in Austin. This place and the people who work there are seriously the best.

Dropped my car off at a different auto shop because I had a check engine light code saying my oxygen sensor had issues. This other shop was not friendly, not communicative. They got back to me at the very end of the day and emailed me a quote that suggested not only replacing the oxygen sensor but several other things like the timing belt. $2,000.00 total.I asked co-workers if anyone had a auto shop they would recommend and someone told me Uptown Auto Repair. I gave them a call and the woman who works there (wish I knew her name) was immediately more helpful and interested in my problem than, well I'll just say it, Yost. She clearly has expertise and understanding that was utterly lacking from the person I dealt with at the other place. She quickly remarked that a certain part looked unusually expensive to her and was looking for ways I could save money.I dropped my car off I heard back from them that no, I don't need a new timing belt, and actually the oxygen sensor did not look bad either. Spark plugs and some things I did need. Ended up spending $350 instead of $2,000 for things I didn't need at a place that did not have my interests at heart.In my experience Uptown Auto Repair is run by honest, kind people. Auto repair is something where you really have to put a lot of trust in the people you're working with, and I now trust Uptown.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Absolutely wonderful service and pricing. I recently had issues with brakes and the rear one was metal to metal and it was making a scraping noise whenever I braked. I took my car to Other auto shops and they tried to upsell calipers and stuff I didn't need and quoted four times the price. Uptown auto ranked everything for me so I got to plan what I needed immediately vs few months down the line. Extremely upfront about everything. Nazreen ( I apologize if I spelled it wrong) was super friendly and very communicative which I appreciate so much. My car is back to perfect condition now. Anymore issues with my car in the future, I'm def taking it to uptown auto. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I've been going to uptown for over a year now (which is actually quite often when you have an older car), and they always take great care of me and my car. They are fair and honest, have caught things other mechanics haven't - and in way less time and for a much lower price! I know I can trust them and always send my friends their way.

Have been using Uptown for 17 years. I don't trust any recommendations until Nasser has looked at my vehicle first. Services done there are alway a lot more affordable than other shops. Also, I love that they do not try to make you "fix" that isn't broken.

This is by far the best auto repair place in Austin Texas. I found Uptown Auto Repair almost 30 years ago and they have taken care of me and my family ever since.When I recommend them to anyone I know they are treated fairly and come back to tell me how awesome Uptown Auto Repair is.Don't go anywhere else.

Do I drive from Bastrop to uptown auto repair?? Heck yes. Bastrop Auto works told me they didn't know how to fix my low idle on my 96 ford ranger. Uptown, a family owned business, will fix your vehicle at a reasonable price. Been going there longer than I can remember. After taking it there last week my old truck with tons of miles drives like a new one. Thanks Uptown. Always dependable. Go

Nasser is the most honest mechanic I have ever worked with. I know if anything major happens, he is the person to take my vehicle to. He is also great about doing inspections on used vehicles which is great for people looking to buy from another person, when a guarantee or a warranty is not in place.

They are the very best! Honest and trustworthy and the most kind people! I have been going to them for over 10 years now and they have always been incredible! I have never had any issues with them or their work is top notch!!

Wow. Honest, expediant, inexpensive and good work. I didn't think mechanics like this still existed. Not an edit, just an update. My car's power steering pump went out on my 11 year old car. They had it out and working in just one day. Still as honest as ever, they gave me all of my options and saved me a lot of money.

I am visiting from out of town and had a flat on the interstate in 100+ heat. Drove off the interstate into a parking lot and after unsuccessfully trying to use the useless Jack provided with the vehicle we resorted to call a tow service and the wait time was an hour and a half minimum. My son noticed Uptown Auto Repair across the street and called. Not only did they come out to help us and bring the jack we needed but they wouldn't let us pay them for the help. They just asked that we do the same for someone in need someday. They are the nicest and most professional men I have had the pleasure of meeting while visiting in Austin. I have to say that there are people who don't care about their customers or people in need, but not these men, there are still good and honest people in this world and I met them today. Thank you so much!
