For some context around this review, I'm a "car guy" who often has a rotation of 2-5 cars in my stable. I wrench on my own stuff as often I can, but sometimes life (or not having a lift in my garage) gets in the way.Shannon and crew took great care in fixing a few things on an older car of mine (1990 Nissan 240SX) as well as an annual inspection. I've been there twice with this car and they were VERY transparent on pricing upfront and immediately informed me of an unexpected issue in one case that needed a decision.They're honest folks doing honest work. I'd recommend them to a friend in a heartbeat.

Always fantastic service! I go to them for oil changes and they can always be trusted to take good care of my car. Oralia, the person who worked with me, provided well informed quotes and helped me with everything I needed. Will definitely go there again.

Was stranded in Austin while visiting. Car had to be towed there. It was Easter weekend. They not only fixed my car the same day(needed a starter) the took us back to hotel and picked us up when car was ready. On a Saturday. Lala kept me appraised of progress and the owner drove us himself. Very thoughtful staff.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! This is our second full month in Austin & I m so happy we stumbled across this shop when our alternator was giving us problems. First off, they were very helpful with us calling as soon as they opened & with so many questions. When we got there, they were able to give us an estimate & let us know about how long it would take. We had our baby and only have one car, so it was especially helpful that they offered us a ride back to our apartment. A few hours later they were able to pick us up and get our car to us right away. This will definitely be our go to while we re here in Austin!

Had a bad experience at another auto shop and I had stopped here before for an inspection. Needed an oil change. Should have come here to begin with. The staff is really nice, and have great communication on what may need to be fixed in the future. They are very transparent on wait times and pricing. I don t feel taken advantage of here which is huge for me. Going to auto shops is usually an uncomfortable experience for me and this experience was great. Will be back at a later date to get some more services completed. Thank you team!

I'm a very busy mom, I already been to four other places looking for a simple oil change. The waiting was either way too long or the prices were just way too high. Marie was awesome very professional and got me in and out quick I love this place I hope it stays the same I will definitely be going back.

TL;DR: Overall, hospitable and efficient neighborhood auto shop, just did not do their jobs with higher than industry standard price.[Wrote 15 months later] So there my car was pulling right. Time for an alignment, I thought. So, I whipped out my phone, did a quick search, and found this place with stellar ratings.I called 'em up, all professional-like, to check their warranty policy. They assured me they had my back. Feeling optimistic, I dropped off my four-wheeled companion and hopped into their friendly courtesy shuttle off to my office nearby.Fast forward to the grand finale: job done, car ready. But hold your horses! The warranty? Won t save me from a downpour. They told me they can t cover alignment issues based on driving. Say what? What part of a car doesn t depend on driving? The cup holders? The air freshener?Anyway, I forked over $129 plus tax (ouch!) and drove off, feeling all fancy. But guess what? My car decided it wanted to lean to the left. Went back, all puzzled, and they handed me a report sheet. Red for bad, green for good? I don't know. I m no rocket scientist, but that is really beyond my understanding, my fault.Their verdict? Blame it on the tires they needed some soul-searching time to correct themselves. Or maybe a rotation. Fine. Costco offered free rotations, so I hit the road again.Months passed, and my car still not going straight until recently, I rolled into the dealership for some unrelated work. And guess what? Their alignment deal was cheaper than here. I asked and they did the magic. Perfect alignment. It s like they sprinkled fairy dust on my wheels.Lesson learned: next time, I m test-driving that alignment like it s a new pair of sneakers. Trust the machine (or the mechanics)? Nah, I ll trust my gut and a good ol spin around the block.

Went in for my scheduled oil change appointment on my lunch break. They had another person show up at the same time, and told me I was going to have to wait. That's the exact opposite of what an appointment is. I did not have the time to wait, hence why I called and scheduled an appointment for a routine service. This is the basic concepts of running a business, and if you can't schedule an appointment why would I trust you with a complex automobile? Unprofessional.

Had to take in my electric vehicle for annual inspection. I was pleasantly surprised with my service advisor Maria Sanchez, great attitude, great at setting expectations and building rapport and delivered excellent customer service, while being friendly and fast !I recently have started dreading taking my vehicle anywhere to get service because it seems like, customer service in general has not been what it used to be but this place feels welcoming and it s definitely where I will be bringing my vehicle for any future service!

Great experience. I (long story) ran into my garage door. Definitely a personal problem .I felt so silly calling around explaining what happened. No one would even take a look. I called Sun Auto Service corp. they had me come right in.Everyone I spoke with was so kind. Never were they condescending. I am so appreciative.There is a theme that plays out at many auto shops , that as women we are at times taken advantage of, and or even talked down to. NOT the case here.Great experience. I will return!Ladies take your car here!Thank you Sun Auto team!

TL;DR - Car was kept overnight with no communication and the small amount of work requested was not fulfilled.After being pulled over for my tail light going out, I stopped by to drop off my car, asking that both of my tail lights be replaced. They said it would be a while and they'd call to confirm before doing any work.I was not called. 4 hours later, I called to check in and was told they were bringing my car in the bay now and that they'd call me in 30 minutes. I reiterated that I wanted both lights changed. They didn't call. They closed for the night without calling me about the work, let alone to say they'd need to hold my car overnight - I had to figure that out myself. Called again with no answer. I get a text in the morning that the work is complete. I get the itemized bill. They replaced one light.First experience and last experience. Never again. Following up with your customers is basic stuff, and if you've only got one bulb, then say something.

I have a Honda civic and a Kia soul. Staff is super sweet and very attentive. I have been coming here for both vehicles on multiple different occasions since I moved to Austin. I will not go anywhere else. If you need anything. Go to them.

I ve been to a lot of shops, but this one has to be the best one that I ve ever used, because they are so honest. Very trustworthy. The entire staff is great. Shannon is so easy to work with as well. Also, they do not nickel and dime you to death. If you re looking for a place that has integrity and takes care of their customers, this is your shop.

This is my neighborhood auto shop. I use Sun Auto for all things (tune-ups, inspections, oil changes, tire rotation, alignments, brakes) necessary to keep my two vehicles running & in good shape. I am pleased with the work and use them time & time again. They do the work in a timely manner, are courteous and well within my price range. Just called them and asked the price to replace two tires for my car. I bought them used to save some money, but the looked like new. The guy on the phone told me that they just can't replace to used tires. No reason, just can't. Okay, i will use another service for that.

First come first serve policy is hard to manage with work days. I was denied when I went in late evening but I came early in the morning the next day and was out in an hour. Used manufacturer specified ( valvoline full synthetic ) with the correct volumes and additional stuff including tire rotations were done free of charge.Highly recommend.

Dropped off my car on a Wednesday at 3:30 for an oil change, tire pressure sensor, and trouble starting. Call Thursday morning to check on it and they say they don't have my car. Not very reassuring. They find it and start working on it and I pick it up Friday. The lady tried charging me over $400 when the previous person told me the charges would be $366. When I turned on the car it did start better, but the tire pressure sensor came right back on. There was nothing on the receipt reflecting they patched the tire but a tech told me they did. Google said they were open so I tried to bring it back on Saturday and they were closed. So I bring it in this morning (Monday) and explain the issues to Shannon. They took no responsibility for anything, he stated the patch was free and that's why it didn't show on the receipt. Very unsympathetic . They took another look at it and there's a nail in the tire, and now they patched it. It's very frustrating to have to keep coming back for service that should have already been completed. I feel like there was lying and dishonesty involved. The whole thing is very silly, be sure to double check the work before you leave. Beware.

This is my favorite auto place. Shanon and the staff are amazingly professional. They go over and beyond the call of duty. I came here for my wife s car inspection and they got the car in and out in less than 30 minutes. They are really laid back and Shannon who helped me was super helpful! The waiting area has a very homey feel, with comfortable seating and nice AC. The music was really uplifting, and the vibe was just great!The car needed a bulb replaced and they did it at a very reasonable price (no extra $$$ for labor as most auto shops would charge).I was so pleased at the service that I decided to return for my own car inspection the same day.I d definitely recommend this repair shop for any of your car repair /maintenance needs. They do great work.

Local and close, yet have great locations. Used to pay someone for our company's fleet for oil changes as we provide our own oil and filter. Welp, they went out of business and Oil Changers was charging me $55 bucks to do an oil change with my own stuff lol. They can slam it. Met Tory over a phone call, and can't speak highly enough about him. They are beyond and above the competition, and with oil changes they do free tire rotation. As a small business owner or even a household. We don't have enough time in our day to go several places. I'll just say this. Support local and get better results- Dustin (Alpine Pest Solutions)Update: Shannon and staff are lights out as always. Just did a full engine swap for me on another fleet vehicle. Sun auto off mcneil and Corpus Christi drive are the bomb. There s been a few times that I have needed Sun Auto to throw on their cape and save the day and they ve done it every single time. Shannon and Lala are great people. They are easy to communicate with and try and save you as much time and money as possible. Friendly and professional. My kind of neighborhood mechanic shop!
