Rational Automative has been our auto repair service for at least 30 years. Paul is the most honest automotive repair company we have worked with. Very pleased with there work and always stand behind their work. Would highly recommend!

Would highly recommend to anyone. Paul is awesome! Replaced my BMW s battery for free because they thought it would fix the issue on my vehicle but it didn t so they paid for the battery replacement with no money out of my pocket.

Paul has been taking care of my cars since I was just out of college, almost 15 years. Doesn t matter where I live in ATX, I will not go anywhere else. Rational is the best place for trusted communication & automotive care.

I've been a customer for many years now. Shop was recommended when I had an emergency breakdown. Experience was good so now it's my go-to mechanic shop. Our long time favorite shop. Paul is so attentive and informative. They are so quick to get you in and figure out what s going on. They are always available to answer my questions and have such a vast knowledge base. I always feel like I m charged fairly and am never pushed to pay for thing I don t need. Highly recommended.

I've been taking my vehicles to Paul for so long it's just easy. Fair more than competitive prices. Good reliable work. Have not found anything his shop can't do so far. But most importantly local shop, local family.. good folksHighly recommended(My last job was large. Lotta work. Yeah it was some coin but no way corp could do all I wanted vs needed.)Again, years with Rational auto

Awesome shop. Quick turnaround, honest work. Very affordable. Got rotors replaced for about half what I was expecting to pay and they didn t try to upsell me or charge me for anything extra. Will be returning for future work

Cannot say enough good things about Paul and his team! We had some issues with our work vehicle after the snow/ice storm last week. A friend of ours referred us to Paul and what can I say. I will definitely be bringing Paul my car business! He answered the phone and returned all of my calls, from the many times I called him. He tried to help us out as much as possible over the phone for what our issue was. We did need to bring our vehicle to him and he was able to get it back to us within a couple of hours!In contrast I tried calling the dealership for our Van, left multiple messages and received no phone calls back after 2 days.....We run a locally owned business and know how important customer service is. Don't waste your time trying to get ahold of the dealership. Call Paul! A+++++ ServiceThank you Paul, you saved us! Great service. Paul is an honest mechanic. They moved way north for me, but I make the drive because I trust their work. I have saved lots of money and time just to drive a little farther for quality service. Thanks Paul to you and your wonderful staff. I recommend you all the time!

I am a former ASE certified technician who ususally does most of my own maintenance, however I lacked the equipment needed to diagnose some AC issues with my wife's SUV. I found Rational Automotive online, and the reviews made me feel comfortable enough to trust my vehicle with them. Paul up front was very friendly and straightforward, but best of all, he was honest. He could have easily sold me any number of major components associated with the AC system, but he said they found a small leak at the service ports and had me blowing ice cold again for a couple hundred bucks(diagnosis included). I highly recommend Paul and Rational Automotive and I will be bringing my Acuras here in the future for anything I can't handle on my own. 5 stars!

I was referred to this place from my previous BMW mechanic for my mom's vehicle. The one thing I really enjoy about this shop is Paul's consistency in answering the phone. He is very proactive about ensuring someone is there to take your call, and that's pretty refreshing, especially when you're having to call around for a repair.I brought my mom's vehicle here for a transmission flush at 150K miles and everything went well, pricing was reasonable and she was in and out in a jiffy. They are very honest and will give you a straight answer on what's wrong with your vehicle.Although I wish things would change with the industry and having to pay for the vehicle to be checked prior to doing any work (even though we may already know what's wrong with it), I'm glad there is an extra level of caution to ensuring the car only gets the repairs it truly needs.Keep up the great work!

Conflicted to review, when I want to keep this place all to myself. Paul greets like family, services your vehicle as if his daughter will be driving it, and is very thorough in ensuring the car is properly serviced. I've been using Rational Auto Repair for my 1995 Suburban for many years. They are honest, efficient, do it right the first time, and are priced fairly. The do thorough inspections each time giving me peace of mind that my old vehicle will last many more years to come.

We started using Rational in the 1990s. Paul has ALWAYS been respectful, honest, and thoroughly competent. No matter what make or model of car, he has always done the job right. I used to do all my own work, but Paul made it so easy to hang up my tools and pay an honest professional to do the job. You won't find a better shop in Austin.

The owner Paul is very honest and prices are fair. I brought in my Jeep Patriot because there was stuttering...he straight up told me nothing was wrong but could do maintenance work on spark plugs (which is what the Jeep forum said would be the culprit of my issue). He is awesome!!!

We've used Rational Auto Repair for 20+ years. We trust Paul because he has always done good work, at a fair price. He's worked on a Buick, Honda, Chrysler, GMC, Ford and Toyota with good results. I highly recommend him!

Paul does great work. Is always prompt and honest. Rational is the only shop that I will recommend. Rational handles all of my trucks (8), and my personal cars and trucks. I've been a customer for over 10 years.

Rational is an excellent shop. My husband an I use Rational for everything from major repairs to quick things like inspections for both of our vehicles. We have always been satisfied with the quality of the reair and the price. Call Paul!

Paul and his staff are very good at what they do. They provide a quality service, which they stand behind. Do it for a fair price, (I wish it was less but I'm kinda tight) auto repair is not cheap. They're honest, I don't feel like they try and plus sell you with things that don't need to be fixed plus they are friendly.

If you re clueless about cars and looking for a mechanic you can trust? Well look no further! If I could give 1 million stars I would! I have gone to a few mechanics in Austin and it seems every time I took my vehicle to get fixed there was always another issue that evolved right after. That has not happened to me at Rational Automotive! Communication is easy, staff is knowledgeable and friendly! Would highly recommend.

Paul and his team are absolutely wonderful and kind. Paul is excellent with communication, honest and very fair when it comes to pricing. I was unhappy with the poor service I was receiving from the dealership. I am very grateful to have found such a great shop!
