Absolutely awesome owner. He may not remember us but we came into his life when our house burned down and all we possed was a car on its last let and a trunk full of fatigues we left that day three years ago with the money to fix our car and rent a cheap room for a couple weeks. What I'm saying is the man is awesome and will give you the fairest price sometimes even though he doesn't need the items. You are awesome

This place is a true surplus store. So many unique and one of a kind items. Owner is very nice. Too bad I was flying back home and couldn t get any of the cool stuff. Prices seem about right for this type of merchandise in a store in a major city.

Ed is one of the nicest truest form of shop owners out there. He ll never be too busy for you and welcomes all the questions you may have for him. I hope this shop stays open for a long long time. Photo attached is a garment waxing technique @onthesly.nyc of a US Military Night Time Desert parka (made in 1984!) found in perfect condition at his shop..

The pepper spray hanging on the wall is 5 years expired . In a city with a recent spate of machete attacks, maybe they should update their wares.

An amazing little store packed with tons of awesome stuff, probably the best surplus store in Austin. The man who runs it is very friendly and helpful. There are some ww2 helmets and Vietnam era clothing along with plenty of modern stuff. Planning to come here monthly!

I'm an avid antique shopper. We decided we would go into Austin to see what was there as far as antiques. This place was our second stop. I was quite disappointed when we drove up and found an army surplus store.Normally, I could lose myself in such a place. This place, while nice, was very small and, in my opinion, overpriced. The gentleman that was running the place was very nice and knowledgeable. When you are on the hunt for an antique store, this doesn't quite cut it.

Was looking for an M1 bayonet and they had exactly what I was looking for. Ended up going with a peice in very good condition, excited to match it with a rifle. Visiting from Florida, I'd still come back if I'm ever in the area for surplus or antique military needs. Man who runs it is nice and has a great collection. Very friendly and knowledgeable!

Quonset Hut is a taste of old Austin. Not only are the selection of military surplus products primo, but the atmosphere of the place is awesome. The owner is incredibly nice and helpful. Excellent vibes and music in the shop. Bought some P38 can openers (a must have!) as well as purple smoke bombs.

Great place. The owner and the clerks are great. They're very knowledgeable about the items they have for sale in the store and are willing to help you. They are also willing to negotiate prices in some cases. Definitely a go to for surplus.

Good place to go for any military or camping equipment. I forgot to bring a mask and one of the employees gave me a mask for free. So, that was pretty cool. I also found the pants that I was looking for, as well as another pair of insulated pants. They both were affordable and comfortable. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will probably go back soon.

Every time I go here I see something new. To on 11/12/22 I found a ww2 German officer trench coat alone with a full German gebirgsjger uniform, and a original M1 helmet with the red cross on it. The owner is super friend and answer any question you have, Good with kids. If you want to find some old war stuff this is the place.

This store is awesome. My boyfriend foun the store and got some bunk beds for our kiddos. The bed are awesome. Very well made and strong. They didn't look damage at all except for some wear and tear. We had the wrong size of the headboard and the owner was so nice to help us out to get the right one. Defenetly great customer service skills. My boyfriend even got some other things too from there. I recommend this place to everyone. Nice and welcoming place for sure

I was looking for a simple tie clasp for my pinks and greens , I looked everywhere in the Killeen area and had no such luck , I called this place and I was told to check one place out , I did and still nothing , he had mentioned there were some there and I was like I ll go there if I really need to so I ended up going there and I call him up and he said he should still have some , I got there he looked everywhere for them , he knew he had them but couldn t find it , he told me sorry but I just couldn t find it , so right before I was going to leave he called one more place and as he called he accidentally found one underneath his register. He s very knowledgeable, it was a pleasure speaking to him while he was looking for a tie bar clasp whatever you want to call it . I enjoyed my time over there . I don t remember if I caught his name but I think it s Ed . He has very excellent customer service. I totally recommend going there .

The owner, Ed, is a solid guy with a great store. I ve traded with, and off-loaded some items to him over the years off and on. I ve gone in there a few times more recently and am astonished at his inventory. We always chat for a bit and he never ceases to amaze me with his wealth of knowledge.I m still in the service (career mode) and have found that I can easily drop in to Quonset Hut and pick up any random, lightly used issued item I may need that I can t find elsewhere (be it on post or other surplus stores) for a great price!

Downtown Austin location convenient to get to from most areas of town. Has a wide variety of military equipment both used and new. If you are a military memorabilia collector they have reasonable prices on hard to come by items of the past.

Mr. Hall purchased some of my old gear a couple of times and was very reasonable with his offer. I have purchased stuff there many years ago and found the place to be quite a treasure trove. He behaves very professionally.

Awesome place. Very nice collection from modern to vintage gear and memorabilia. Reasonably priced. Loved the 70's rock playing throughout the store. Will definitely return when time permits. USMC 95-99

Amazing little shop. Very happy to be able to stop by and see everything they had. Good variety of things. Owner was very helpful and kind. Would recommend visiting if anyone is interested in smaller army surplus shops.

Nice cozy shop with a large selection and the guy who runs it is friendly and helpful. Things are a reasonably priced, if a bit on the pricey side, but everything is authentic surplus as far as I could tell. If you've frequented army/navy stores the last few years you'll know that's becoming less and less common. Will definitely be back in the future.

The owner was late to open the store because apparently his breakfast is more important than opening on time. Once he had arrived in his $50,000 Mercedes, he was very rude to me and my son. I decided to leave before I even got a chance to go inside. If you aren't going to open on time then change your hours.

Not many true military surplus shops left in Austin. They have some great stuff to buy and some great stuff not for sale but very fun to see. Nice folks ready to help you look for what you need and stuff you want. I always get lost walking through this military time capsule.

I've visited this store on and off for years, and even if I don't buy anything I always love exploring and chatting with the staff. Everyone is super knowledgable, has tons of ideas for repurposing items, and happily explains any items/answers the myriad of questions I ask. There are some really unique, truly one of a kind items in there, and new stuff gets added on a regular basis.
