No.1 State inspection service. Very fast service. I recommend to all of my friends to get their inspection here.

Newberry Automotive Services is a great place to go for all your automotive needs. From inspections, oil changes, to more complicated repairs they do an outstanding job at fair prices. They are also friendly and have always taken the time to explain and provide alternatives that fit my budget if needed.

This place is always been my go to for getting inspections, but so glad I gave them a try to have some service done to my old car. They were fast and affordable.

Went in for state inspection only due to proximity to oil change place that recommended them next door. The front office staff is extremely rude and if you express displeasure they will immediately interrupt you and tell you why you are wrong. They failed my inspection because they said the factory installed tint was too dark. Please .... The car is 4yrs old and has never had tint installed by me and passed all other inspections. Never considered their tint meter is off or was not used properly. It sounds like from previous reviews they have had issues with maintaining equipment to do proper inspections. Terrible customer service and lack good old common sense.update - the following week took it to the oil change place close to home, passed inspection no issues.

This place continues to go downhill. They were always pricier than others, preying on the perceived wealth of their community. But in the last couple of years, their staff has become rude, apathetic and ignorant. Yesterday, I brought my daughter s new (used) car in for a check to make sure it was working well enough for purchase. I was quoted $80. Today I picked up the car and was told the price was $150 by the same woman (Cristal) who took the car yesterday. When questioned about the price change she didn t have an answet and went back to get the manager. He also didn t have an answer, shrugged his shoulders and said that s the price, do you want to pay it? I pushed for a further explanation and was told I could return the next day and ask the owner. I asked him to call her instead because I didn t have time to come back the next day and he said no. Eventually he called her, but the owner said that was the price and gave me no recourse other than to pay the bait and switch price. I advise everyone not to go here, but if forced to do so, get a written quote from these people.

Great experience. I took my older VW in for AC check and service. The turnaround was quick. I had gotten a ballpark estimate from them on what it would cost. The final price was 30% less than estimate. First time that s ever happened!

Newberry automotive is very professional and in my book high integrity standards. They are in Bee Caves and I reside in Pflugerville. But it s hard to find an auto shop that won t take advantage of its customers. Newberry is worth the trip.I highly recommend Newberry to all my family, friends and everyone I go to church with looking for trustworthy auto shop.

The guys that did the work were great however everyone else in the process seemed put out that I didn t know the drill here. New berry is in with Chevron. In fact both people that recommended this spot to do my inspection called it Chevron. The chevron gal that answered my original call was rude and told me that automotive that not them and hung up. When I arrived and found myself at the front to show proof of insurance at the convenience store cashier (same gal as on the phone) but was ignored, I went down to the bays to ask if there was another front . The gal there was short and said to go wait there and she d be up soon. Blah blah.Once I got back into interaction with the guys that do the actual work, service improved dramatically. The car was done in 10 minutes as promised.

I came in for a state inspection this morning. The woman who rung me up for the inspection was friendly and efficient, and I didn't time it, but she quoted me 10 minutes to get it done and it felt more like 5 minutes tops, was in and out in no time. Would be nice if they had an indoor sitting area to wait on your car away from the heat, but if all of their inspections are that quick then that's a pretty minor inconvenience! Will be back.

Fast and fair. They figured out the problem on my older Suburban without a lot of hassle. Ilike that they are local and accountable. Good guys.

Can only speak to state car inspections, but I always have a good experience. They are busy and don t take appointments like every place that does inspections. They are rushed and won t ask how your day is going - but I don t find them rude or really care about that. They are quick and competent for the car inspection.Service: Vehicle InspectionService: Vehicle Inspection

Thieves!!!! $1900 in labor fees and that s because he told me he had to watch videos to figure out how to fix my car. We never agreed on the charges yet he refuse to give me my keys until I paid $2700 for a gasket replacement. He refuses to return calls and will keep your car as long as he wants giving you the run around. Then didn t even put the car completely back together. My check engine light still comes on and I have to take it to a new mechanic. They are the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever dealt with. Refuses to even speak with me so he can speak to my attorney.

My recent experience with Newberry s mechanic doesn t deserve even one star. From my initial phone call to verify hours to having a vehicle inspection completed, all interactions from employees were rushed & rude. When I asked where I could wait, you would have thought I had asked for the mechanic - James - to cut off his arm & give it to me. With an exasperated sigh he informed me only place is out front. When inspection was complete, James yelled out receipt is in the seat & walked (briskly) in the opposite direction. This location is very convenient but I ll find another place & never do business here again.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I ve taken my car here for years, but refuse to do so again. I ve never been treated so poorly by someone than I was today, and this is the last place I expected it.I took my car to get it inspected this morning. This is the second time in 2 days because their machine was down the day before. I went inside and told the person working the register that I was here for an inspection. She replied with that ain t me. And walked away and went to work at the desk. .I stood there confused and ask he if I need go over to the garage and ask them because I genuinely didn t know. She then proceeds to start telling me I m being rude and I didn t ask her to call them, which I thought was implied when I said I was there for an inspection.Eventually, she calls but I stand there for about 10 mins and no one comes to help me and this person, who I found out was the manager, just sits there and ignores me.I finally leave and walk around to the garage since I wasn t getting help and was told to go up front. I mentioned my interaction with the person and was essentially told too bad. Finally, after about 20 minutes, they start to inspect my car. But I m told the machine isn t connecting to my car (a 2020 by the way) and to take it to another shop.It s sad this place has turned into this. I ve always had good experiences, but my interactions the past two days have been anything but pleasant and I won t take my car here to get gas ever again, and you shouldn t either.Service: Vehicle Inspection

This place left a very bad taste in my mouth. The staff was very dismissive and didn t provide good customer service from the get go. Apparently my car didn t connect to their computers so I could t get an inspection at all and wasted my time in the end. They at least refunded the amount but I definitely wouldn t come back or recommend this place. They staff just seems really put out by servicing customers.Update: Went to Westlake Automotive down the road right after and it was a great experience! Got my inspection in 15 minutes I guess they have better computers.

I went to this place because is close to me, but God please stay away! I came in told them I had a missfire. Took them 5 days and charged $120 to say "yeah, we think that's it." They tried charging me $1300 FOR A SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT! $1300!!! To put it into perspective, spark plugs and coils for my car are $102 all together, and it takes 2 hours to repair. These people charge $600 for an hour of labor (if it takes them that long.) Don't get ripped off. I wish I would've trusted the reviews.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

ZERO stars. You can't make an appointment. Two days in a row coming in for an oil change and sent away because they aren't staffed. When I wanted a new headlight installed it took 2 weeks to respond to my email, and that was after a phone call and in person request. Your number one choice if you want terrible customer service and a rude gas station clerk.

This review is regarding their auto inspection services. Look, we all have to get our car(s) inspected and places like this don t make much money off the inspections so cut them a break with the attitudes. I called ahead and the friendly lady said that the wait today would be about 20 minutes. I headed in and even though it looked like the wait would be longer, I was in and out in under twenty minutes. They are a gas station and convenience store as well!

I used to almost exclusively go to this Chevron for gas and get state inspection.Around mid-late May, I was treated rudely enough to never return. I was on a work phone call with my phone to my ear. I wasn't paying attention closely and was waiting at the coke machine while a couple people were standing there talking. Then they noticed me and I noticed that it was two of the employees who weren't getting coke, just hanging out talking. The woman employee looked at me and said "Excuse me is the word" and walked away. I was still on the phone but couldn't believe she just said that. So I stared at her for a moment. She came back and said. "Yeah, I was talking to you." and then laughed and went back to her conversation with the other employee.Needless to say, I'm sad to see this gas station go downhill. Used to be a very friendly place.I won't be back.

Terrible experience all around and horrendous pricing. I needed to get my alternator belt replaced and was quoted ~$180 for parts & labor over the phone. I decided to move forward with it and dropped off my car the following day. A few hours after dropping it off I received a call from Newberry letting me know that all three belts needed to be replaced, which was fine. However, I was also told that the cost wasn't $180 anymore but it would now cost $540 (each belt costs between $20-$25 in parts meaning they planned on charging $470 in labor for a 1-hour job). Since that quote seemed extensive, I researched online and called another shop where I was quoted $175-$225 for all three belts incl. labor. I told Newberry that I won't move forward with the repair and will pick up my car the same afternoon. While picking up my car, I was told that I owed a $90 "inspection fee". I argued that the quote I received over the phone was 3x cheaper compared to what I was quoted when the car was there but the lady I spoke to to insisted that I owed the $90.I just picked up my car this morning from the other shop where the grand total was $182 for all three belts instead of the quoted $540 at Newberry.Moral of the story- never go to Newberry unless you want to get ripped off, pay 3x market rates, and receive unfriendly service on top of it.Services: Engine repair, Brakes

I come here for oil changes and inspections, head light replacements etc and the guys are professional and the people up front are super nice. They don't take reservations but if you come early mornings it's quick. I like that it's in a gas station because you can get coffee and other items while you wait. They have all my history on file so they already know what needs to be done. I've been coming here for 2+ years now and never had a complaint.

Went in for a routine annual inspection. The person who came out was yelling and talking very fast, almost incoherently. He first yelled at me to produce insurance and then yelled to hand him the key. I did both. I walked outside and waited patiently for him to inspect the car. He came out continuing to yell and say something else incoherently. I tried to explain I was having a hard time understanding him, and then he shouted for me to "sit my a$$ down on the bench and wait for him to pull the car around". When he took the car away for an inspection, I thought he might do some damage, as he seemed very angry and unstable. When done, he parked the car and stormed back inside the store. I followed him in (to pay for the inspection) and tried not to get hit by the door that he flung open. He one more time yelled at me for a credit card, which I had ready. I thanked him for "helping me" today, and left. Maybe it was "COVID rage" or he simply was having a bad day, but I literally felt unsafe and threatened. I've had 3 inspections done at this location over the past two years, but will never go back.
