I've had several people tell me about their experiences at this place. Nothing but great experiences here. Honest mechanics. Family business, and all of them are great. I have had a lot of poor experiences at other auto shops. Everyone I know that goes here won't take their car anywhere else. I went here recently, and they are extremely fair, upfront with you, and honest. Car repairs are very stressful, but I know I'm in good hands with them. I will definitely be back.

Where to begin A mechanic who charges a $150 diagnostic fee after completing the work. Brought my car in after running the codes with my own OB-II scanner. The code was for a throttle body. I bought one online for $57. After dropping it off, I received a phone call later in the day saying they had been in contact with the dealership and it was a two year wait for a throttle body because they were on back order. They can find the part in town and get it done for around $600 dollars otherwise I would have to wait two years going through the dealership. After I told them the new throttle body was in the backseat where they told me to leave it that morning and was then told that the throttle body I provided would only last 8 months. How would you know that? What if I don t drive it? In 8 months it will not work? Please enlighten me. Probably took them 10-15 minutes to install. I ve never heard of a mechanic charging a diagnostic fee after they complete the work, especially if you already provided the diagnoses and part. If you want an honest mechanic go elsewhere. All the positive are from people that probably don t know much about cars. Overall, spent over $230 for a 10-15 minute job when I provided the correct diagnosis and part. Was threatened by the owner when picking up the vehicle. Stay away and save some money.

Honest and fair priced mechanics. Our family has been taking our Lexus ES330 and Nissan Pathfinder here for years.They ll never push to get unnecessary work done, and will even help you find more affordable fixes to unreasonably expensive work.

This place is awesome! Wanted to have something checked out before going on a road trip and they let me know that everything was all good and sent me on my way. Another customer was saying how rare that is and I agree, that has never happened to me at an auto shop. I very much appreciate their honesty and will certainly choose them for any car services in the future. Also, bonus points that radio coffee is right across the street.

Great experience. I got an estimate for lock sensors. They initially said $70. to look. When I chose not to have them replaced he didn't charge me for looking. I brought my own motor mounts and they installed them. They checked the alternator for a noise. Took out the belts and reinstalled them correctly and only charged for the look.

Friendly, efficient, and reasonably priced. My AC needed work and he found the problem fast and replaced a part at low cost without having to overhaul the entire thing. They fixed it within an hour while waited and had a cold drink at Radio Coffee. Super grateful to these folks!Service: Air conditioningService: Air conditioning

Excellent customer service and pricing from this shop. When the driver's side door window in my son's 2011 Hyundai got stuck in down position, called numerous shops. Most couldn't even look at the car till the following week. Got referred to Lopez by Tech Auto who use them when they are backed up. Lopez got us in and repaired the same day. Their total price was what one shop wanted to charge for parts alone. Great shop!Service: Auto power window repair

This family owned shop is really great. I didn t know what people meant by finding honest mechanics but now I do. Rosalinda and her Brother Martin are class and help me out at fair prices. Highly suggest and don t overlook them!Side note: the auto shop down the street was too busy and they suggested this location. Solid suggestion!

I have only Great things to say! It was 5 pm on Friday afternoon and I had a 75 mile drive home and I called them to check a problem on my truck to see if I could make it to San Antonio and they said to come in and the mechanic would wait for me. 45 minutes after I arrived he fixed the problem and told me a couple other things that needed to be addressed, but I could make it home. When I asked him how much I owed him he gave me an amount that felt to low and I offered him more especially since he stayed late for me. If you need someone to fix it right and not take advantage of you go to Lopez Auto Repair!

These guys are great. Listened to my tale of woe, offered hypothesis and stated clearly what tests they needed to run. Told me they would call in 3-4 hours with an estimate and did so. When they called with the estimate, told me they would have it ready by the end of the day, and they did. They even hung out a bit after closing time to give me the chance to arrange getting myself there to get the car. Cost was as estimated. Everything about the experience was excellent.Of course, I would rather not need repairs again, but when I inevitably do, I know who gets my business.Services: Electrical repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

These guys were great. Very helpful, very fair, and fast. They quoted me a price over the phone on a Thursday evening, ordered the part, and had my car fixed within 2hrs on Friday for the price quoted (which was literally 2.5x less than what the dealership wanted for the same repair). I highly recommend them.

The auto body shop is one of the best ones I have ever gone to. Very reasonable prices. They are thorough and inspect what they may think causes the problem then call you to discuss the situation further. The gentleman behind the counter is nice, light hearted and good at explaining what causes the problems with your car. As a 27 year old woman who has been taken advantage of on too many occasions by mechanics I HIGHLY recommend the Lopez Auto Repair shop.

This is by far the BEST mechanic to take your vehicle to. Not only do they do good work but they're honest people and they tell you the truth straight up no beating around the bushes... Honesty goes a long way with me and this place went above and beyond to get my car fixed.... Even though it wasnt fixable instead of ripping me off part by part they told me the truth unlike so many other mechanics in Austin that would try to replace my engine part by part just to get money... if you want an honest hard-working mechanic this is the place for you!!!

I'm traveling through and my car stalled. They replaced a piece and everything was dandy. A couple miles away the check engine light came back on, it was verified by another mechanic it was fine and just a glitch in the system. A good place for sure. The car is working good, even after my 17 hour drive home. This is the place to go to.

My family has been taking all of our vehicles here for years, everything from oil changes to major repairs. This shop is run by a very nice and honest family, they'll take care of you. They have always have a fast turn around and are very fair on pricing!

Went to Lopez Auto Repair for the first time to get my brakes replaced, oil changed and a tire rotation. The quote they gave me seemed too good to be true, and upon getting the work done it was actually 15$ less than the quote! Being female I'm no stranger to getting screwed over on price gouging and unnecessary maintenance by mechanic shops. I have been to multiple shops around Austin and Lopez gave me the best estimate so I decided to try it out.I was nervous, since last time I was forced to pay over $1800 on what was supposed to be routine maintenance at another shop since I took it in right before I was going on a long trip. So after I got my car back when I felt it pulling to the left I was alarmed. I immediately looked it over and saw some discrepancies that seemed shady. I took it back right away and the main mechanic there came out and worked with me on the issues, he rotated my tires back upon hearing my concerns and offered to help me with figuring out what could have been the issue. I was able to figure out the differences had nothing to do with this maintenance job and in fact was simply due to different family members doing different maintenance on the vehicle.After this experience I definitely plan on making this place my go to for maintenance and repairsPros: Accurate quotes, good work, reasonably priced, very helpful and polite staff and ownersCons: none

We thought our trip got ruin when we run into trouble with our car, and found Lopez Auto repair, we explained our situation and it is a Saturday lunch time and they closed at 3 so when we explained we don t live here in Austin, they took our car in, and thanks God it was not a big issue for the moment, we walk to a place to buy the part so they would charge us for labor only and fix the problem at site, they charge $85 not sure to say if it price but for a last minute thing it is not bad definitely recommend the place if you need help..

I've brought my cars here for 4 years. They're always very affordable and honest. They'll fix what is broken without trying to get you to replace parts that aren't broken.

My AC was down and I thought I needed to replace the whole compressor. The manager had me leave the truck and called me back 4 hours later. 'I have good news, your truck is fixed and there's no need to replace the compressor. It just froze and snapped the belt.' Amazing job, now the truck blows cool AC for a lot less money than I thought I would have to pay. Their honesty has earned my loyalty. Thank you Lopez Auto!

Dropped car off and car was ready earlier than expected. Needed transmission fluid changed and tires rotated. Reasonable prices and seem to know what they re doing, unlike some of these quick lube shops.

Mr. Lopez and his family have an awesome establishment! I first came to Lopez Auto Repair in 2012. Mr. Lopez has always given me a fair evaluation of the problems associated with my vehicle. He never has tried to add on multiple services unless they were requested. I appreciate that he's also taken the time to offer up some vehicle education when addressing the problem. When there was an issue that he wasn't able to fix, he referred me to other vendors that also offered great service. My Pop always cautioned me about mechanics, so I'm glad that I found an honest and fair mechanic when I needed it the most. Luckily, I upgraded from my 12 year old car, but was thankful that this shop could still offer state inspections and some bodywork, as well.

I stopped in here for a quick fix on my bumper/splash shield so I could drive my car until I could get to a body shop. (They don t do body work). The Lopez family was very kind and accommodating (and quick!). I ll always recommend a locally owned, family shop. They really helped me out!

Waited a while for the review as my previous mechanic's work allways undid itself a few weeks later After seeing the other guy 4 times to "fix" my ac I looked for a new mechanic and Lopez it was. The work cost half of my previous quote and so far I haven't gotten heatstroke in my car. The employees were very professiona/friendly and sympathetic to my recent ac "work" . I will be continuing to use them as the need arises and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a better mechanic
