I waited about 1 week before leaving this review, because anything regarding mechanic work, needs to be tested true. These mechanics found the issue and eliminated the issue [cut and plain]. They're like angels, except covered in grease, working a dirty job. I appreciate their ability to get the job done with no extra problems. My solenoid got jammed up into the gears because high voltage burned it out. She drives like a new car again, lol. Thanks, LOPEZ AUTO! No worries with you guys!

Every time I go, they re really nice, accommodating, perform everything in a timely manner, and I never feel like I m getting ripped off! On multiple accounts they ve worked with my budget & have helped problem solve the necessary fixes without pushing the full works! 10/10 would recommend this local shop!

I was very worried just before I had a long trip to take. Every time I turned my wheel to the left I heard loud noises from under the bumper. My regular mechanic couldn t take me that day because he was too busy that day. He recommended Lopes Auto. De were awesome. I was in and out just minutes before they had to close. I left a feeling that somebody actually cared. I took my long trip with my sister feeling so much safer. We had a wonderful time with no issues. They are definitely my go for any car services I need.

Honest, they did not charge me when they found out my alternator belt tensor was lacking a screw which made the noise I was concerned about. Dude gave me a ride while the car was getting checked. Did now try to rip me off and just super nice place and people. My main mechanic place now, will definitely come back for any maintenance.

I had one of the best experiences here- they gave me an honest diagnosis and were very kind to take a look at my car before a long holiday weekend. When I brought it back in for the repair they let me know after further diagnosis it wasn t anything serious, and fixed it up for me quickly and free of charge. I was shocked but so grateful!

I almost hesitate to recommend them because I don t want them to get too too busy! LOL! But once again m, they came through for repairs promptly. Last time it was AC replacement and this time rear brakes. Grateful! Keep up the good service!Service: BrakesService: Brakes

We had recently had our oil change done at a neighborhood car repair. They indicated that we needed new front brakes. We took the car to Lopez auto repair, and after examining it, they returned it to us, saying the car brakes did not need any repair and wouldn t for quite a while. And with no charge. What was the last time you had that happen?We highly recommend them for the quality of work they ve done for us, and the fact we can trust them.Service: Vehicle Inspection

Juan and and the other employees of Lopez Auto Repair really helped me in a bind. I was without my vehicle for weeks due to a punctured gas tank from road debris, and there were constant delays from insurance and another shop. He and I chatted several times about how to proceed, and he was able to locate one of the last parts for my car in stock in the area. So we towed it over to this shop and the team fixed it within a day and got me back on the road. Can't thank them enough, and definitely recommend this shop. They do good work and seem transparent about what needs to happen. Thank you!!

My auto AC wasn't working & I was told by another shop that the AC compressor wasn't turning (& I was told it was probably bad) & Francisco diagnosed that it was the connectors to the compressor that were burned up & that was why the AC wasn't working.I used this shop for several years & they have always been 100% honest about my repairs. They are the best!Service: A/C installation & repair

A while back my Honda's tail light was not turning off. After checking 2 other places who basically said they couldn't help me, because they were so tied up. I ended up at Lopez auto repair. The mechanic took my car and even though the auto shop was tied up as well, I had my car back in a couple of hours. I'm very grateful for their help. It's good to know there's some good honest mechanics out door still.

Absolutely fantastic service. I don't even live in Austin but I'll drive down any time I'm able for them to help me! Kind, honest, flexible, and they don't look at you like you're stupid when asking questions.I feel like I got a good, honest service here

My car hardly ever needs work and I moved a year ago, so didn't really have a regular go-to mechanic I trusted. But a few weeks back my car just wouldn't start out of nowhere. I looked up reviews from places nearby and saw Lopez auto had good reviews and decided to give them a try. And I'm glad I did. It turned out I needed a new starter. Juan was very friendly and explained everything well. I dropped my car off at 5:30 pm and it was ready within 24 hours. My car feels super peppy now like it had a shot of espresso! I hope I won't need car repair for a long time, but if I do I'm glad I found a mechanic that does quality work that I trust.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I can t say enough good things about Lopez auto. I previously took my car into another shop a few months back and was told my issue was something else entirely and it would have cost me around $900-$1000 to fix. When I took it to Lopez auto Juan assured me he would verify that before charging me. I m so thankful I took my car here because the issue was not what the other place said at all, and it turned out to only be a $280 fix. My car is riding perfectly fine again and the issue was resolved within a days time. I highly recommend Lopez auto and if you re feeling unsure just talk to Juan and you will know you re in good hands.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

Within one week, I have been to this place four times for oil change.Every time they asked me to come back another day. I tried morning and afternoon.Last Tuesday, a young guy named Cisco scheduled me for today Thursday ).When I went ,the guy in front ( Old with difficulty walking), said he cannot do it, and Cisco is not in charge. He asked me to bring it next week early morning, and pick it up around 5 PM !When I tried to explain him that I have appointment,he just said that Take it to another place .It s clear that , that guy is looking for a big job, with big money.Even inside the shop, there is no activity just parked vehicles, and no one around.I planned to do some repairs, break caliber,break pads,flush radiator, but since the customer service is near zero, I prefer to go to another place where people are treated with respect, and dignity.My suggestion : unless you have time to waste, avoid that Lopez shop on S.1street .

Juan is great guy. Very helpful, easy and fair estimate, returned the car quickly despite the shop being busy. Highly recommend. He was happy to explain the issue with my car at a high level which i appreciated.

We just moved to Austin and needed to find a mechanic pretty quickly after the air conditioner went out on our car. Lopez Auto Repair was recommended by a nearby auto parts store so we thought we would give them a try. Very impressed with the shop s honesty and speed. They could have told us the compressor was out since we have an older car. They were honest though and only charged us for what we needed, which was freon.Brought the car back a few weeks later where it started to run hot. Radiator issues have been persistent on our Honda Civic. The shop kept the car overnight and were able to find a leak that another shop missed. They also charged a very reasonable price to replace the radiato.Highly recommend. The manager Juan is also very nice and helpful.

Some nefarious individuals attempted to steal my Civic. They failed thankfully, but they did manage to do a number on my steering column. (basically left it ripped out & hanging down towards the floorboard) to add further insult to auto injury they damaged the key cylinder rendering it unable to start. Had my insurance tow it to Juan at Lopez Automotive and I gotta say the BEST decision bar none. Juan had me up and running within a couple of days and it s never driven better. Absolute professionalism & top quality customer communication/service this is my spot when my ride goes down from now on
