Johnathan at Leonard s was fantastic to work with - got me in same-day for a major steering issue I had in my 95 C1500. Great staff, great work, would recommend this shop for repair work. Their prices were reasonable and don t try to push unnecessary repairs, only what you need.

These guys are AWESOME!!!! Jeremy, Jonathan, Brandon and the rest of the crew. Honest and fast. Saved us THOUSANDS on our Jeep when another shop was telling us we needed much more than we actually did.We take all of our vehicles here. They restored my faith in repair shops . Well, at least this one! Thanks again guys! See you next time.

I love Leonard's. I always get great service and my truck back quickly. I used to only go to the dealer, but they would often keep my truck for weeks. Leonard's has never had my truck for more than 3 days, and that was for a really big repair. The guys up front are great and the shop is always clean even though they are always busy. Can't say enough good things.

Came here because they specialize in Lexus. Not only did they diagnose what I knew was wrong with my car, they itemized and broke down every other issue clearly and honestly. While it wasn t a cheap fix, I knew that going in and when I was struggling to weigh my options, they were quick to call and help me understand why the repairs were worth what they were, and how my 2007 Lexus was worth fixing- they have good bones! :) Such a stressful situation quickly became a better understanding of my car and the maintenance to keep her alive. I will be going back anytime I need service, they are quick, honest, understanding, and they take Klarna. LOL. Never had a mech with payment plans before but this was a godsend. Highly recommend :)

Last Friday I dropped my car off for an oil change and tire rotation. They forgot to call or text me that it was ready. At the end of the day, I had to call about my car, and they said it was done way earlier, however no one let me know. In addition, they hadn t rotated my tires and said they were irritated with me because they now had to leave, making it seem like I was at fault. When I showed up to get my car, they rushed me out and I went to check my car to make things worse, they didn t top off the fluids and I had to ask them to do that, as my wiper fluid was still empty.I had a terrible experience, I do not recommend bringing your vehicle here.

Well, all I can say at this point is I'm disappointed and frustrated. 3 repairs later over the course of several months and my AC has yet to be fixed. Leonard's is a great place for a temporary solution that will last a few weeks, a month if you're lucky, but I would recommend a shop that cares more about doing the job correctly than quickly. I want to write a long review explaining all that's happened, but quite frankly I just want to put all my experiences and money I've wasted at this shop behind me. I will be taking the invoices I have received to another shop to check the legitimacy of their work. I hate writing bad reviews, and I almost didn't write another one for this shop (I wrote one after the second time they didn't fix my AC but deleted it in exchange for them to fix it the third time, which they still didn't do correctly), but I feel I'd be cheating myself even more if I just let this slide; I'd also be cheating others in not letting people know that this shop struggles to confidently diagnose an issue and allows customers to continue to spend money on unneeded repairs. I'm sure Leonard's understands. Thanks for a waste of time and money. I will not be returning and for any new customers I suggest you keep your distance for your own sake.Service: Air conditioning

Great experience, we couldn't solve the problem yet because of previous mechanics work. But was very fast and attentive. Will use again .

Best place on earth. Both Jeremy and Jonathan treated me with the respect that I hope for when using a business! Prices were much cheaper than quoted from 2 other local shops and half of the dealer quote. I'll definitely be back for all future repairs. 100% recommend for all repairs and service. Thanks again!

I had a great experience working with Leonard s on a transmission replacement for my Toyota 4Runner. They were super informative and honest about the repairs that needed to be done, and went out of their way to keep me informed every step of the way.

Went in for a brake job and ended up having my ABS wire and brake line in my suspension coils on the passenger front end. So I go in and show them a photo after I have a trusted mechanic fix it. The ABS light kept coming on when I hit bumps while driving so we had to check it out. Good thing we did! Glad my brake line didn t sever!! So they offer a free oil change. They changed my oil when I got the brake job done, and they were at least a quart short of oil. This place takes advantage of women - or they just suck at fixing up cars. Either way, never again will I trust my life with this company.

I stopped in here today because I had a minor issue with my car...I will not say what it was because it was not something they do...it just took a couple of minutes and a couple of screws. As a woman, it is hard to find an automotive shop that would not take advantage of a woman. LADIES, THIS IS YOUR SHOP! I can not say how much I appreciate not being taken advantage of for once, especially in the world we live in today! Thank you thank you!!!

Leonard's on S. 1st St is awesome. I bring my car in because it is telling me a low beam headlight isn't working. I give him the keys . He goes out, comes back and says "No charge" when I was about to take out the light, it turned on." or words to that effect.

I went into Leonards as a first-time customerand I could not have been more pleased. Jeremy and Jonathan were very nice and very tentative to my questions and concerns. They did the repairs needed, and I got my car back the same day! Prices were very close to other shops in the area, but they had a great warranty. Plus, I am always willing to pay a little more to get great service. Thanks, guys. I'll be a customer for life!

Spent a lot of money for something that was never fixed.Update to owners response:My invoice number was 124899. My car was leaking oil and it sat in your shop for over a week. Diagnosis and supposed repair was timing cover and gasket. The car continued leaking as much oil as it had previously.I took my vehicle into another shop and timing cover and gasket was also diagnosed as part of the repair I had to pay for again.I have a copy of the invoice I can upload if you like. As well as the invoice from the repair I had to have redone.

Beat the dealership quote by $130! Also did what would of been 30 minutes of labor in an appointment next week in less than 5 minutes.

Did some extensive research on mechanic shops from Killeen to Austin after countless tries with other mechanics and landed with these guys due to their amazing reviews on Facebook, Yelp, and here on Google.. Initially got quoted a decent price for a decent amount of work to get done, but mind you all of this work getting done is something that was recommended from other shops.. Fast forward after 3 days of having my Jeep in the shop and I get it back, pretty much none of the issues I had initially got fixed. Nothing got properly diagnosed . They only did the work I was previously told I needed done. For a $2,000 payment, you d think they d cover all bases and go ahead and truly diagnose the issue beforehand. Regardless, after just having my a/c recharged, it started making a noise while on and as of today it no longer blows air period. I guess it s on me for not properly asking for a diagnosis, but I assumed a mechanic would take even the slightest look around before trusting a customers word on what s needed from previous shops.. Overall they have friendly staff, but very disappointed on how we got our vehicle back. Still have 2 noises that we had before that were claimed to be fixed, plus the additional noise from ac that has now stopped working altogether. Offered us a free diagnosis now, but after shelling out $2k originally, there s not much more we can afford to spend on repairs.. On a positive note - they did bring out a Dodge technician to fix a programming issue we had .. that s about the only repair that stuck over the weekend since having our Jeep back..Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Air conditioning

Great service, fair prices, and honest recommendations. I appreciated Brian s updates and open communication about what needed to be done and what could wait. I got an oil change and some other repairs, and I walked feeling good about having chosen Leonard s. I ll definitely be taking my car(s) back there in the future.

I first found Leonard s a few years ago due to their great Google reviews, and I was not disappointed. They have always been very upfront and honest with me about what repairs I needed and more importantly did not need. I can recall on more than 1 occasion that vehicle issues were so minor, they fixed complementary or advised on what really needed to be done. I can not recommend them enough, just a fantastic local business that truly earns their high praise. I had always taken my car to the dealership in SC prior to moving to Austin and had great service from them. Unfortunately when I went to the Nissan dealership here it was a complete 180 in terms of quality and customer service. Leonard s was recommended to me by a friend when I needed my check engine light looked into. The customer service was excellent and I didn t feel like they were trying to oversell me but also felt like they knew what they were doing. Bonus- I got my car back in the same day!

There's a very good reason someone continues to get their car serviced at the same location for 32 years!Besides the exceptionally wonderful Customer Service, it's knowing that my vehicle will be checked to ensure it is in excellent driving condition. This particular business starts rolling our the red carpet the minute they pick up the phone.Thank you, Jonathan, and Crystal, for the fine service you provided during my last visit.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

UPDATE: The starter they installed broke after 6 months, and started chewing at my flywheel every time I started my car. When I called them to offer to bring back their defective starter, as well as a report from the dealership showing the damage it had done, they notified me they'd only help me if they did the work themselves. The dealership was 30 min. north of them, and I needed my car that weekend. It was literally on the lift when they told me this. I'm already out the diagnostic fee from the dealer. For several reasons, this arrangement wouldn't work for me. They didn't want to hear it.Really an awful experience. Will never go here or recommend it again.---The starter they used in my 2012 Civic (138k miles) was $347, which is by far the most expensive starter I had seen. Most seem to be between $70-$190.I'm glad the part is of such high quality, but with the age of the vehicle, I would have appreciated a more affordable part be used instead, or at least give me the option. When put on the spot, not being a mechanic, it's hard to push back on an estimate. Also, echoing the previous review, paying for the diagnostic ($80) after agreeing to use the services of the garage feels exorbitant.

They're very professional and polite. Jeremy is very nice.My only issue is that they mark their parts up 2x over car part places or online. Their labor is $150 /hr, $50 more an hour than my father's garage. My dad's garage is over 3 hrs from Austin, and it being a steering leak issue, needed to be fixed here vs Lake Jackson, Texas, if anyone questions why i didn't take it to my dad's shop.I also think if I'm getting my car repaired at the shop, I shouldn't be charged the diagnostic fee. If I take my car elsewhere, yes. But that's a charge that should be dropped if I'm agreeing to your services and prices. I only got that dropped because my mechanic father called to question their prices.Work seems fine so far.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Do NOT take your car here for a pre-purchase inspection. They inspected the car we were buying and told me everything was fine. First, the driver seat belt was kinda busted (it latches sometimes and does not latch some other times), second, the driver seat window is stuck sometimes when it's too hot. And then we took the car to another mechanic, they told us the tires were very worn down, there's also a nail in one of the tires. There's also a slight crack in the windshield. I cannot believe how these things were missed from Leonard. We already bought the car so it's too late to change anything. But, do not take your car to LEONARD for inspection. I honestly did not know if they actually looked at the car at all. Because they also could not provide a list of things they checked and what conditions they are in.

Let me tell you my experience with Leonard's.1st visit I got an oil change everything was smooth.2nd visit my power steering bump broke and fluid got all over so they replaced the pump and a couple belt cost me +$20003rd visit the power steering pump they installed wasn't working so I took it back and it wasn't working as I thought so they had to replace it again, luckily free of charge.4th visit got a normal oil change and filter change and had to do an engine diagnostics cause my wife took in the car and the person who serviced my vehicle said "This car is in great shape should keep running for a long time."5th visit my vehicle is having a hard time starting got it towed in, turn out my engine valves were leaking which I knew about but they leaked to the point that it messed up the starter and some wiring so this cost me $1800.6th visit my car is still having problem starting and I get it towed in again and they can not get it to repeat the problem and the car is starting fine and still charge me $80 for diagnostics.A couple week later my car won't start again and I will now never go back to Leonard's or recommend this shop to anyone.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery
