This place is a total rip-off, stay away from this place! They are not transparent about the total cost and will charge you hundreds of dollars for just diagnosing a simple problem. They charged me $280 to find a vibration issue in my Honda. On top of this, these guys (Kevin and his crew) don't commit to a finish time and don't give you any updates. They are also unreachable over the phone (text only). Their part costs and repair costs are outrageous. It's much cheaper to get the repairs done elsewhere. I also had to incur additional Uber costs. I went to this place due to a referral, which was a big mistake. I'm surprised that people haven't reported them to BBB. They are definitely not trustworthy.

Kevin is an all around good guy, car enthusiast and a walking Honda encyclopedia. He put in a new engine which was no small feat. Albeit not super fast, his level of detail was super appreciated.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

I have been going to Hondacure since I moved here several years ago and was fortunate enough to meet Kevin at Hondacure this is an amazing shop they are honest and always helpful. Here you are sure you are told the truth and would never regret using Hondacure. Kevin is a very kind person that will not only fix your car but will tell you any concerns if any for the future. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing help or regular maintenance on your vehicle. I not only take my car for repairs but also oil changes. He is always courteous and willingto assist you this is definitely the place to go. Bravo to Kevin for being a honest person in an industry that so many are taken advantage of. I just moved here and my car broke down, I know about 3 people and one of them recommended Kevin and his shop. He not only was extremely honest and kind, but also incredibly fair. He didn t make me feel like he was trying to spend my money for me, he gave me options, recommendations, and let me know what I may need done to my car the next time she s in the shop! I ve never had a mechanic like this! I highly recommend you choose Kevin to be your local mechanic, he does not disappoint. Thank you so much Kevin and Lorenzo! I highly recommend Kevin to anyone who needs a repair or service to their Honda or Acura vehicle. He did a great job in repairing my 2013 Pilot with over 250K miles when multiple dealers struggled. He is honest and has fair prices.

Update two years later:Still bringing my car to Hondacure. These boys do great work!-------------------------------------Original review:Wow. I've finally found a conservative and honest mechanic in Austin.Hondacure is like an old-school neighborhood family doctor for your car.My AC was busted and after getting quoted for $2,000 last year, I was waiting and sitting on my hands, living without car AC in the Texas summer and trying to figure out if it would be cheaper in the long run to just buy a new car.I was encouraged by a friend to end my sweating and bring in my broken AC to Kevin, the owner here at Hondacure.Kevin's process was conservative, for the sake of my money and his emploees' time. They tried a simple fix, then discovered it was a slightly more complex problem requiring a new part. Still, even though it took two visits, I appreciated that they didn't jump to expensive, time-consuming unnecessary repairs. I came out paying a small fraction of what the dealership quoted. The AC works great now and Kevin says he stands by his work so I'm welcome to bring it back in if it starts acting up again.I don't know much about cars, but I trust that Kevin does and I trust the satisfaction all of my friends who go to him. Great to see a business with principles.

Honest mechanics being so hard to find, boy was I was happy when I was adopted by Kevin at Hondacure. He has taken great care of my old Subaru and a 2004 Nissan of mine for two years now. He is a straight shooter and only recommends needed work. One time I took my Nissan there and asked him to do a front brake job. When I came back he said I didn't need a brake job, that he had adjusted my pads and no charge. Love him.

Kevin was great at communicating with me and provided a loaner vehicle while mine was being worked on. The price was fair and the work was completed quickly. Will definitely go back when my Odyssey needs a tune up.

Lorenzo and Kevin were both accommodating and professional when I came in, believing something was wrong with my alternator. They agreed to run some diagnostic tests before replacing anything, but my alternator ended up being fine. I was a little hesitant, so Kevin decided to run additional tests to put me at ease. It would ve been very easy for them to agree with what I thought the problem was, but Kevin didn t. He told me that I didn t need to pay $750 to replace my alternator when that wasn t the problem, and he actually referred me to a specialist for my problem. I am very thankful for the patience and honesty demonstrated by the men at this shop.

Kevin and his team have taken care of me, my cars, my family's and friend's cars, for 21 years. He's as honest as they come, will help you figure out priority items, doesn't use suppliers with questionable parts, and knows every Honda's quirks since the beginning of time, (and most Nissans, too). It's not always a quick turnaround with Hondacure, because they want to make sure they're treating the right problem and with thorough inspection of their work. They don't want to send you home just to have you come back again next week. They want to make sure it's *right*. When I moved here, I was referred to him by my very trusted family Honda guys in SA, and I've never gone anywhere else for serious repairs since. I have a 21-year-old Civic that has only been cared for by Hondacure in its life, so I'd say that's a pretty serious testament. Kevin is my Austin Honda ride-or-die.

Honest shop. I was being advised by a local dealer to replace my brake pads soon so I called Hondacure for an estimate. Turns out there s quite some life left on the brakes I like this places honesty and will look to have my work done here when the time comes.

I own a 95 Honda Civic and so far, I have been seriously impressed with Kevin at KC Auto. He took care of a loooooong list of repairs I needed for the Civic without flinching. I was once told by the dealer to just buy a new car, and since then have been almost embarrassed by my pride in my old Honda. Kevin and his team have helped me get over that. He told me that my car is very valuable (which I already knew) and he took pride in fixing it up nice. It drives just as good as it always had, after sitting in the driveway for several months, and now its safe for the streets and my family. Thank you KC Auto!! I will be back!

Don't go here! These people are incompetent and dishonest. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Their parts and labor costs are outrageous.

Hondacure is great! Very thorough, honest and willing to take the time to have a clear discussion with you about your vehicle. No pressure, no upsell, no BS! Great work at a fair price! I definitely recommend them!

Very honest and friendly mechanics. I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 and they know the car inside and out. I feel like a valued customer that is treated fairly in my several dealings with Hondacure and would gladly recommend them to my friends.

Kevin saved us tons of money by doing a pre-purchase inspection on a Honda we were considering. He and his team are real detectives and found lots of issues that gave us a more complete picture of the car.

Then go do it yourself Just rang these guys for a simple labor job of replacing a thermostat where I was quoted $100 more than five other mechanic places.... I questioned how it was so much and explained that I had everything they needed (all the parts). Then go do it yourself and hung up the phone. Honestly astonished at that. Disrespectful and no consideration for the customer and clearly over priced . Also said this job would take hours when every other mechanic said about 40 mins max. Shocked isn t the word here.

I learned with my first car (an Acura Legend) to always go to Honda/Acura specialists for routine maintenance, like oil changes, since there are always little details that standard oil change places invariably get wrong (like the one time a Quickie-type place glued a part back in place b/c it didn't fit right? Yeah, that piece had to get replaced).This place feels very Mom-and-Pop; they're never pushy but they're good about being proactive in alerting me to any issues I need to be aware of.But best of all: the shop dog. She's the sweetest little rescue pitbull who helps pass the time while your car's getting tended to!
