These guys rock! I had already spent hundreds on mobile mechanics and locksmiths who couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car. Had it towed into George Cox and they had it affordably diagnosed and fixed within two days. They will be my go-to from here on out, cannot recommend enough. Thank you guys so much!!

These guys are awesome! I came in to get my air brakes checked before heading out to big bend. I had a few questions and they took the time to explain what to look for and how to tell how much life was still on my pads. Very very nice people

As a fellow Napa Auto-care Center located in Chicagoland, I needed to find a service center to complete some work for a family members car in Austin Tx. We tried some other independent shops that just gave off bad vibes and explanations weren't adding up. Decided to try George Cox Auto and am very pleased with communications and explanation of vehicle inspection. Felt like I've already been going there for years and wasn't treated like a walk-in customer off the street. I am glad to do business with you guys. Thanks again.

Called for a simple oil change because I m not allowed to do so in my apartments to be told by one of the workers, I m not interested in doing that kind of work. I could only laugh at how poor of a response that was. 0 stars would be warranted.

I had a great experience here with fair prices and kind people. David even gave me a good running route to do while I wait. I m recommending to my friends because it s tough to find a high quality and honest mechanic.

There are no words to adequately express my gratitude for the outstanding customer service provided by Andrew, Steve & Chris. These gentlemen deserve an award for their patience. Two catalytic converters and a muffler were stolen from my motorhome. Needless to say, it s been a stressful time. As a caregiver, my schedule is restricted and therefore I don t have a great deal of flexibility. These gentlemen went above and beyond to assist me throughout this process in many capacities as we awaited the arrival of parts. The compassion and customer service exemplified sets them apart from the competition. You will be pleasantly surprised if you have the privilege of working with this team. The team here was fantastic. Brought them an E350 powerstroke diesel that was turning over but not starting, and they were able to get it up and running in less than 24 hours. The guys then provided continued support as we continued our road trip and stayed interested and engaged with us and the vehicle.Highly recommend if you need expert diesel work.

I took my car to jukes and paid $400 and they didn't fix the problem, so i came to cox. They were very friendly and accommodating. I have one day off a week and two kids and i really felt like they were trying to help me out. They dropped me off and picked me up and stayed late so they could get it done in one day. I came back to get my bearings fixed, and they charged me less than then my old mechanic who ran a funky little shop with low prices. The prices were less than juke, and i cant say i know a lot about cars, but i feel like they do good work. This will be my go to shop from here on out.

We were towed into this shop on a Saturday after another co. spent 10 days damaging our motorhome, we are full timers. The manager stayed late to receive us and even ran a 20amp extension so we could have a/c (temps in the 100s). Monday they hit the ground running and spent the first part of the week diagnosing the damage and coming up with a game plan to begin repairs. Due to previous "troubleshooting" we continued to have new issues pop-up and this place took it in stride. This shop is full of talented, thorough, hard-working, highly skilled, and most importantly honest people. Through it all they were kind, used the best parts available (no cut corners/get what u pay for), and always made sure we were comfortable and happy.There simply aren't enough words i could write about Cox Automotive to do them any justice. If you ever find yourself in Austin and need anything done on your car, truck, or rv, do not hesitate, they are the best!

There are many places to get you car/truck/fleet vehicles worked on in Austin but, this is the only one I use. Andrew, Paul and the rest of the crew are always very helpful when dealing with any issues I've had. Honest and Reliable are two words that come to mind when I think of George Cox Automotive. Fantastic Shop. Honest and to the point with everything so you know where you stand and what you need to do. I had an independent mechanic rebuild the rear end on my Camaro and it was not set right and began to whine like crazy. Gave him a few chances to fix the issue but it just got worse. I brought this to Paul at G. Cox Automotive to have him take a look and they quickly found that it was for sure not setup correctly and that in turn caused the new ring and pinion gear to have a bad wear pattern. They were straight up with me on different routes I could go but also gave me the risks associated with each one. I decided to let them do a full rebuild on the rear end and set it up properly, best decision I've made with my car. Rear end is quiet, smooth and solid, it's set perfectly the way it should be. Solid service every step of the way and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

I had my truck repaired before going on vacation then broke down in Austin. George Cox Automotive was able to get my truck in and repaired in 2 days. It's now working better than after the last repair.

where to find good bbq? a good fishing spot? an auto shop you can trust?these are things that often you have to just trial and error to you find the right one... in this case, you can save the trial and error, Cox Automotive is the spot where the people looking at your car today are the same people that were there 5 years ago, and will be there in 5 more years, and it shows that they want you coming back.I'm sure you can always find some place cheaper, but when you spend a lot of time in your vehicle and/or need your vehicle to make a living- you can't take chances- after all, in the long run- cheap labor is never skilled, and skilled labor is never cheap. You get what you pay for and at Cox Automotive you pay for peace of mind.

I took my car to a shop on the West side and they said I needed over 1,000$ in suspension work. Took it to Cox for another quote. They looked it over and said it was fine, 0$!!!! They've made a customer for life.

Very poor service. Twice they took my vehicle, did not fix it, charged me for the time and offered no suggestions. They weren't even friendly or supportive, just took my money and sent me on my way with a broken vehicle. I would avoid this place.
