I originally left a 5 star review here based on my customer service experience. The team was friendly, provided good communication, and finished the job on time. Little did I know at the time...I m updating my rating now based on the quality of actual vehicle maintenance provided. I took two different cars here for state inspections and oil changes, perhaps the most basic of maintenance services. One vehicle I needed for a long road trip not long after my visit.Upon arrival at my destination after 8 hrs on the road, I discovered oil dripping from under the vehicle. I then spent an afternoon investigating the source and cleaning up the mess. Ultimately washed about half a quart of oil out of the engine compartment where it was spilled by the tech near the oil filter housing. Rechecked oil fill level several times before my return trip, and appears to be stable. We ll see what my regular mechanic finds. On the second vehicle, I returned home to find another oil slick in my garage, pics included. This time it appears to be a loose drain pan plug, which was barely finger tight in the pan (I was easily able to turn it with oily fingers). I tightened it with proper torque and will continue to check the level. The only silver lining here is the car with the loose drain plug wasn t the one I drove 1,000 mi round trip. Would ve left me stranded in East TX at a minimum and easily could ve ruined an old car we love.Called and got the run around, so here I am...If anyone at Firestone wants to try to make this right, I d be happy to reconsider my review. Meanwhile, buyer beware.

I went to this fire stone to get a new tire and an alignment the new tires fine but my alignment is still off. I tried calling the store multiple times. Nobody answered. I finally got in touch with someone from customer service and I explained the situation that it cost me more than $300 for an alignment and tire change. I explained that I was still leaning to the left. They told me that they can redo the alignment but it will still cost me hundreds of dollars. So in conclusion I would never use fire stone again. They do not take responsibility for their work. They do not answer their phones. This is what I call bad Business. But at the same time, this is partly my fault I should ve looked at the reviews clearly they don t know how to do alignment

Incredibly dishonest and shady. Actively mislead and lie to customers. Left my car in with a flat and was lied to over the phone for two days about a tire being in stock. Told me it would be done within 24 hours. After 72 hours of contacting them with zero answers I decided to come get my car. The /moment/ I came to get my keys and take my car to another shop the manager comes out and says the tire JUST arrived and it ll be done in 30min during my wait I witnessed the clerk and the manager high five each other over convincing another customer over the phone to leave her car there for longer than needed so they either didn t have to immediately attend to work, or to ensure her car was left there and not go to another shop. Ultimate shady. There s 1000 other shops in town don t make the mistake I did and avoid this place at all costs.

These guys are not competent. They represent the lowest standard of customer service. Couldn't get my alignment done because they don't have the aptitude to understand that tie rods can have heat applied to in order to adjust the components that fix the alignment in a BMW. They kept my car for 6 hours and waited till I went back to get it tand tell me they didn't get it done.

Brought my car in because it stopped running and jump starting it wouldnt work. With a pretty general knowledge, we ruled out that the battery was the issue and wanted to see if it might be a fuel issue. The car was there for a whole day and it wasn t until they were about to close for the day that they ran a battery diagnostic that concluded the battery was good. The second day, we called every hour for an update and and every time they told us they we re just now pulling the car in and were going to going to check out what might be the problem. They d say that they would call us in 30 minutes after talking to the technician. 2 hours would pass and nothing. All we wanted was an update so we could figure out what the problem was, we were pretty understanding that it wouldnt get fixed that day. At the end of the second day all they told us was that the battery was working just fine and it might be a fuel problem. It took them 2 days to tell us what we already assumed. Worst service in my life.

Giving 2 stars because the staff here is kind, however my vehicle was damaged at this location. I brought my car in for a tire repair and the team conducted a "complimentary engine check" that I did not ask for nor consent to. Immediately after getting my vehicle back it began to shake when in turned on. Two days later the check engine light came on, and four days later the car stopped driving. I had to spend over $200 for a repair at another shop just to find there was nothing wrong with it, the guys at Firestone just don't know how to look in the engine without triggering system malfunctions. When I asked for them to look at the vehicle, they said they don't have a mechanic on staff.Service: Tires

Got my car worked on here on Saturday needed a front alignment they discovered my control arm was visually bent. They said I needed a new one I agreed. They told me they test drove it. Everything looked good to go they mention if the car is feeling funny I might need tie rods down the road. Well here I am again at Firestone on Monday not even driving my car on the weekend. My axel is coming apart! I have axel grease all over my tire! And just spend a $1000 on this in a course of three days with the Firestone credit card! With the axel coming apart im just happy I was able to take the day off of work and apologize to my clients about the incident.

Was convenient but eventually they stripped my oil drain bolt and that led to them damaging my car. I bought the car new, and they were the only shop ever to do oil changes on it. When they couldn't remove the drain bolt, they told me they would change the oil pan, but they didn't say that it required the removal of an exhaust manifold. They are not competent even to do that simple level of mechanical work, and should not have done it. The car ended up with a bad exhaust leak, which after multiple times bringing the car back they somehow improved a bit, but it still sounds bad and smells of exhaust when idling cold (definitely more than what would be normal). Not sure how I will fix this but not planning to let them work on it again because they will probably make it worse.

I will not be back to this location. I brought my car in for oil change/maintenance and a nail in my tire. I never received a call that my car was ready, so the next day I called and asked and sure enough it was. They said they didn t have a number for me- I had actually given it twice and the next time I dropped it off they were able to search me by my number so I knew they had it. When I went to pick it up, I asked if they had replaced/patched the tire. He said they didn t do anything other than rotate them. I reminded him that s why I brought it in so he said he had to keep it longer. I came back a second time to pick it up and he let me know there is no nail so they didn t do anything again other than add air. I asked didn t you rotate them, so wouldn t it be in a different spot? He said they checked them all (I could tell he was lying) whatever- I leave because I was already fed up. A few days later my air pressure light comes on so I bring it back. I let him know the nail is STILL there please fix it. The employee acted baffled and tried to tell me well last time you told us it was the front tire I reminded him yes, you rotated them!!!!! Sure enough I get a call well yep looks like there was a nail in there I said I KNOW THATS WHY I BROUGHT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. That was never up for debate. I get in the car and the low pressure light is on. They hadn t aired them after the patch. They gave me an attitude the entire time and refused to believe that I had a nail in my tire for whatever reason which caused me to go back THREE times. Elezar Paradise is the employee who helped me. If you choose to receive service here, I would advise you to ask for a different employee to help with your car. Terrible, terrible service. Waste of time and Uber $ getting to and from this place.Edit- I emailed the Firestone in the comment below and never heard back! Useless!

My husband and I were in Austin for the weekend. On Sunday morning when it was time to drive back to Houston, we found there was an issue with 1 of our tires. Of course other tire stores are closed on Sundays.... but Firestone to the rescue! The Store Manager at this location, Kacey Kietlinski, was our hero! Seriously though. He went out of his way to get us quickly on the road even though the store was understaffed that day. He was extremely kind and we appreciate the hard work that he and his staff put in. We definitely recommend this location if you're in need!

Avoid this place at all cost. The first time I went to Firestone was for an overheating issue where they replaced the cooling fan which took a week to replace and all seemed good but 10 months later, the part failed and stopped working. I dropped my car off again to get the issue diagnosed once my car started overheating, and they came back telling me there was a bubble in my coolant tank which was incorrect. I took it to another mechanic in the area who fixed the problem faster and cheaper. Please do not go here and waste your money.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Air conditioning

Came here for general vehicle maintenance and had to get my tires replaced. Everything seemed fine but after a while I started hearing a clunking noise whenever I drove. It got worse the next day (constantly happened while driving and was VERY noticeable) so I took it into another mechanic since I was in a different area of Austin. The mechanic asked if I'd recently gotten my tires replaced, since it turns out the tire lug nuts were loose, and if I had kept driving I probably would've lost one or both of my front wheels. Considering this place is a well-known TIRE brand, and tightening lug nuts is pretty basic 101 knowledge, I can't give this place a good review. I was extremely lucky I didn't lose a wheel while on a highway.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Battery, Oil change

I'm delighted with my experience here. Firestone was able to resolve a myriad of issues for me at a very reasonable price, all within a single day. Alexis provided excellent customer service - friendly, informative, and professional. While there was one issue they couldn't fix, they recommended Capital City Collision, an auto body shop that turned out to be amazing.Services: Transmission, Tires

Got a flat while in Austin for the weekend, told us it would be 24 hours for a replacement. Front desk was rude and told us to do it ourselves.

Lol brought it in for a battery issue, they couldn t find anything wrong but the axial was apparently the issue making the dash light act like that?3 weeks later my truck completely died on me and took it somewhere else. And oop it was a battery alternator issue.Anyway waste of the 100 dollar diagnosis fee.

I don t know what the attitude problem is with staff that work at Firestone in Austin but so far the 2-3 shops I ve been at here have been all negative. I used to work at Firestone and would greet customers with respect. I immediately got a snark bad look from the service advisor if as if I was doing them a bad favor. The front staff was sarcastic with me and gave me smart *** remarks and I dropped the car off for a basic CVI. No wonder this store gets bad reviews

I was stranded in Austin and Firestone got me back on the road within 5 hours which was enough time to explore the city while waiting. I was pleased with the wait time since this was an emergency repair (replacing the alternator and battery) the parts had to be ordered and other customers needed assistance also. All things considered it wasn't bad, my car is running again and we made it home safe.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Battery

I needed new brake pads, allignment and tire rotation. I scheduled service for 13th December 2022. On that day, I dropped off my car early in the morning, between 9-10am. I called around 4 pm to check on my car and was told it was just started to get work done. At 5:45pm I received a call that the car was ready to go. At pick up, I was told that an oil replacement was done, something I hadn't even asked for. Right at pick up, the brakes sounded off- they grated and squealed and seemed like they were stuck. I was assured this was normal, so off the lot I went. Took it back in on 2nd January, again had to leave the car for half the day. The brakes still sounded bad, and the car wouldn't stop smelling like oil. Carl, the store manager, tells me that the issue was fixed and it was on the drivers side brake. His explanation stated "aggressive driving" as the cause, and that there was oil spilled all over that needed to be cleaned up. Now, I would eat that horse s#*t about "aggressive driving" had this issue come up even once in the 6+ years I've driven the car. No inspection reports, previous repairs, etc. mention anything more than regular wear and tear as the reason for brake pads being worn down. Carl and the "master" mechanic decided that "aggressive driving" was the cause for heat marks and damage to rotors, and straight up won't take responsibility for a job badly done. Now, two weeks later, I can still hear brakes grating and grinding and squealing. I've taken the car back in for a third visit. And I'm certain that a sh*tty job will be done again. All in all, three appointments, almost $1000 out, and several hours of interacting with incapable people, I'm certain that I have been put in a vehicle that has compromised safety because of poor work done by the folks at this Firestone.Services: Wheel alignment, Brake service & repair

Terrible experience.I bought 4 new Firestone AS Tires and it took them 7 hours to install.... Realized they didn't balance them and my tires were all different psi, 40, 30, 35 40 so I came back 2 days later because they were busy, Nate told me I can bring it at 7am and they would take care of it but when I arrived at 7 the manager said no one would be here until 9 am, so I came back at 9am. Now they need another hour just to balance my tires.A total of 8 hours...I'm going to discount tires next time.Don't waist your money or here. Every customer that's came in today has left disappointed.

Great service and friendly staff. Craig was a huge help. He explained how the winter storm affected two areas of my car. I was terrified the price to fix everything was going to be thousands of dollars, but thankfully it was very reasonably priced. He made sure my car was taken care of, which I'm very grateful for. I truly appreciate the work they do at this Firestone.

We had an A+ experience with this shop.We were traveling from Galveston to Round Rock with a few nights in Austin in-between. It was a pretty tight schedule. Prior to reaching Austin, we stopped in Bastrop and realized our car was making a terrible racket and traced it to the rear tires. We made it to Austin but it was too late to do anything. We called Firestone the next day because we were staying downtown and it was the closest shop. Carl told us to come over as soon as possible and they d take a look at it. We dropped the car off about 10 and they called us at noon saying we needed new brake pads, new drums and new calipers on the rear end (where the noise was coming from) and new front tires. None of this came as a surprise to us because our car is older and we had been thinking we needed new tires anyway. We agreed to their estimate and they told us they would get to it that afternoon and it would be ready around 6 pm. Carl called in mid-afternoon and said they d discovered that the calipers were rusted and could be broken loose rather than replaced, which reduced our bill by about 25%. They also assured us we only needed 2 tires, not 4. And they got all this done in one day so we were able to continue on as planned the following day.If you re looking for an honest brake and tire shop, I highly recommend this one.

While AJ, the individual I worked with, was polite, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency when they charged me. First, without explaining my options, they pressured me to get the more expensive tires. Then, upon ringing me up, they included a warranty charge without even consulting me. I had to ask for a price breakdown to even know that that had been included. All in all, fine customer service from the politeness perspective. But since I think that an integral part of great customer treatment is integrity, I cannot commend this company or recommend it highly for your business. I am sticking with my go-to, old-fashioned, and trustworthy mechanic, Murphy s Garage in the future.

Quick and easy, friendly people. Didn't charge much for patching a flat, but they didn't go over the results of their complimentary courtesy check with me in person; I had to read the invoice they emailed me afterwards to see their recommended services on my car. They seemed too busy to discuss their findings with me. At least they didn't upsell me on things I didn't need.
