I had my car's transmission replaced, and would rate that 5 stars; however, they returned my car with either grease, oil or mud smeared into the carpet, on the inside arm rest area, and a tacky steering wheel. It's a mess.

I took my son s 2006 Chevy Z71 to Eagle Transmission for the four-wheel drive transfer case repair. Tim was excellent to work with. He explained the repairs in detail and why the repairs were needed. Repairs were completed in a timely manner and the 4wd is working better than ever. This is a family owned business, NOT a commercial business with greedy, corporate owners. I will be using them for any future transmission repairs!

When my repair facility said I had transmission issues, I asked if they knew of any HONEST transmission repair shops. The only one they suggested was Eagle. I am glad they did. The evaluation was free, and they could have easily charged me for an expensive repair. However, they were honest about a loose wire that was quickly reattached. Thank you Eagle for your integrity, it s pretty rare.

Good people. Honest and helpful. Even though I didn't get my car fixed here (cost exceeded the value of the car [2010 Chevy Equinox]) they were helpful in explaining to me what the issue was and what my options were, even if it wasn't with them. Great customer service.

Took in my 2013 Subaru Outback for an engine light showing a transmission error code. Eagle Transmission did a full diagnostic and suggested all my options free of charge. They suggested that it would probably not be worth fixing/replacing due to the high mileage on my car, and did not try to sell me on expensive repairs, which i appreciated.I went in expecting to filter out auto-shop/sales tactics, but instead had a pleasant experience with no pressure to unnecessarily spend money.I can't speak on any transmission work being done, but I would highly recommend going here for a pressure- free diagnostic.

No one wants to hear their vehicle must camp out at the transmission shop. But if it must, this is a good place.Yes, it took a while to find all the bits & pieces-- but the transmission was 26 years old! And it was painful to see it parked in the same place every time I went by. But grant Eagle the time to rebuild it well and they will!I'm very happy with the results and the way the rebuilt transmission performs. I'm also very pleased with the care and attention the technician gave to this project, and the after care, advice, and support from the owner. 5 stars!

I have a 2018 Toyota Rav4 Tim is such a rip-off. I got charged $7300 for a new transmission. Never received a $1000 core fee.From the very beginning, he ordered the part from Toyota Autonation; did not even bother to look into my extended warranty I did not realize I had that extended warranty. I am now fighting the warranty company and was asked by my warranty company to ask for a copy of my parts invoice from Tim and his answer was nope! Warranty will not reimburse me now.The whole time Tim and his grin acting as if he's a nicest person.Underneath all that facade; he is shady, So to all my fellow ride, share drivers out there think twice and do research both monetary and parts value before turning to eagle transmission on menchaca road South Austin.

It has been years since I took a vehicle to Eagle, but recently I had an issue with my car that we thought might be a transmission issue. I called and they were so nice just as they were years ago. Anytime someone mentions a transmission issue I ALWAYS suggest Eagle!

Went to the Toyota Dealership and they quoted me $4,000 to fix my torque converter. Eagle Transmission quickly diagnosed it was a Toyota software issue and said they couldn t for certain say it was the torque converter until that was fixed. Low and behold updated the software and it fixed the problem. I would highly recommend Eagle Transmission. They are ones to trust and are experts in their field. Also shout out to Tim and staff for the amazing help.

7 year update. I replaced my transmission here 7 years and over 100,000 miles ago and my little truck is still going strong and shifting the same as the day they did work on it. Perfectly. Money well spent here. Thanks y'all.

Eagle transmission is now my first choice for transmission work. They had a lot of work when I brought my 89 crown vic in for service. I dropped it off with Tim around noon and had the car back around 4pm. The experience was an absolute pleasure and the service was the most trust worthy I have felt in austin for a very long time. This type of family business is becoming difficult to find and I will never go any where else. Even if my problems are not transmission related I will be giving Tim a call for recommendations.

Absolutely love the place and Tim is the man!! The dude simply knows his stuff, period! I had so many questions about several things and he was patient enough to get me thru it all. His staff did the repair top notch for sure. We went on a trip to Virginia shortly after, 3600 miles all together and was flawless. We have about 1500 miles on it a few months later and still doing great! Can t say enough 5-star good for this place and all the employees! Thank y all for some excellent service.

Eagle took really good care of me! Had my transmission replaced and they were very quick on the turn around, considering all the back orders and problems getting parts. They also had to work with an extended warranty company I use, and from what I understand it was a complicated process. They did all the paperwork needed and got my claim approved.I ve been back on the road now about 3 weeks and my truck is running great. I still need to take it back for a follow up and fluid check, at their recommendation, not because anything is wrong. I definitely recommend this shop!Service: Transmission

I was quoted 6800 for my 4Runner at the dealership. Went to Tim and he definitely lives up to his reviews. He opened up the transmission topped it with fluid (because the dealership did not) got my truck running fine and sent me on my way. This is a business that does not cut corners, and is completely upfront with you!He did all of this for me at zero cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!Service: Transmission

I originally had my 2016 Ford Escape towed to a dealership for transmission replacement. I did not allow the dealership to do the work because they were extremely overpriced. Tim and his crew at Eagle were recommended by several people. One guy who had his truck transmission and several other people, including other mechanics who send their transmission work to Eagle. Tim is honest and extremely fair. I am glad I had him do the work.Service: Transmission

We had a transmission problem, we made dozens of phone call trying to find a reasonable quote to fix our car's transmission problem, most of mechanic shop giving an unbelievable expensive quote from $4000-$7000, it was really frustrating until we called Tim at Eagle Transmission, he answered our concerns in very professional way, so we towed our car to their location on Monday, I was expected waited for at least 1 week to get my car fix(that was the time frame other mechanic shops gave us), but just one day later Tuesday I got the call from Eagle transmission notified me my car is ready to go! Eagle transmission told us our car did not have a major transmission problem, it was caused by a bad car battery, they helped us reset it and charged us nothing. Took my car in for what I thought was transmission issues. They were able to give me a diagnosis and let me know it was not the transmission so I needed to get the specific work done elsewhere (water pump replacement). However, they have amazing customer service, were very professional, and were so easy to work with. My boyfriend also got work done on his transmission by this shop and they were able to get it done at a fair price and within a reasonable time. You can tell they truly care about every client s experience. Thank you, Tim for being so wonderful to work with.

I've waited two months to post this review so as to provide enough time for any major component failures or poor workmanship to surface, and I am very pleased to say that I have experienced none so far.My 2017 Chevrolet diesel truck began exhibiting symptoms of torque converter failure at about 60k miles despite regular maintenance at or before scheduled intervals, and never any abuse. I've learned that for a squeaky ball joint or a brake job it's fine to take your car to any general mechanic, but for transmission repair you need a transmission shop. Or you'll regret it. My research showed Eagle Transmission to be reputable, so I called and asked Tim how much experience he has with the GM 6L50 transmission, and he told me "probably more than I'd like." So I scheduled the service.The factory powertrain warranty had expired on the truck but it is under a 3rd party extended warranty, which can sometimes be hit-or-miss. Tim handled 100% of the communication with the warranty company. He provided the evidence of component failure and got the approval for repairs, for which they called to just swap it out with a reman'd unit instead of tearing it apart. So I researched Eagle's reman'd unit supplier on my own and found them also to be of good reputation, so I supported the decision.When the replacement unit arrived, they installed it quickly and seemingly without issue. I performed the initial break-in of the transmission exactly as Tim instructed, and returned it to them on-time for a follow-up. Thus far, I can say without question that the remanufactured unit in this truck behaves and performs better than the factory unit from day one, and it comes with an excellent warranty.I didn't have to deal with my warranty provider at all, the work was done in reasonable time, it performs better than new, and I expect it to continue to do so. I'd say that equals a win in my book. I would recommend Tim and Eagle Transmission to anyone who needs transmission repair.Service: Transmission

I was having transmission issues with an older car and wasn't sure if it was worth fixing. I brought it over to Eagle transmission and talked to Tim to get a estimate on how much it would cost to fix the issue. Unfortunately it was going to cost more then the car was worth to fix due to the cars make, model and year. I really respect and appreciate a company that would take the time and effort to check the car and give me a free estimate. Tim was really honest and respectful over the phone just like all the other reviews said. If I ever have any other transmission issues with any other vehicles I'm definitely bringing it to Eagle Transmission.Service: Transmission

I was surprised when Tim called me about 2 weeks after I had my truck towed in. He told me it may be 4-5 weeks to repair my transmission due to shipment of parts. Got an oil change at a different shop. My car started to make an awful rattling noise. I brought it back to that shop and half a day later, they said the heat shield was falling off but they corrected it. I picked it up, but the issue was not fixed. I brought it back to them and they said they'd need it a few days to figure out what was wrong with it. I left it there for about a day and came back and they said they couldn't figure it out. Frustrated, I took it to Eagle to see if it happened to be a transmission issue.Eagle called me back in just a few hours to tell me that it was a heat shield, they had fixed it up and that my car was ready. Didn't charge me a dime since my transmission was fine. Drove it around and the issue is fixed!!!!After a few insane days of being worried of bigger problems with the car, Eagle put my mind at ease in so little time, I had to write a review to let them know how grateful I am for them. Thank you Eagle!!!!

I towed my car to another general mechanic shop in Austin who diagnosed my cars trouble as transmission related, had it towed to Eagle per their recommendation and feared the worst for my cars new issue.Eagle transmission determined it was actually a starter issue and was able to fix it instantly despite being so booked up with other customers.They did not end up charging me for the work but they did gain a lifelong customer and all of my future word of mouth recommendations to others!5/5 would recommend, really friendly helpful staff as well.Thank you so much, Tim!Service: Transmission

Wonderful group of people. Their honesty is very refreshing. I brought them 3 different cars in the past. 2 of the cars did not need any repairs. The 3rd vehicle, an older Cadillac truck, needed a transfer case rebuilt. They did the repair in just a few days and the truck drives like new. Could not be happier with this shop. I was nervous about taking my truck to have the transmission looked at. So I was relieved when a friend recommended Eagle transmission. I dropped my truck off in the morning and by the afternoon I got a call from Tim informing me that it wasn't the transmission. What a relief!! Tim and his staff were very courteous and knowledgeable. I called Tim at Eagle Transmission after confirming my issue was my transmission. He explained a rebuild vs. a new transmission prices, warranty, and gave time estimates. They coordinated the tow from the other shop for me. Each time I ve talked to Tim, he s been nice, understanding, and not condescending. It took a while, but that was a supply chain issue, not an issue with them. They also want you to bring the vehicle back for a check-up after a couple hundred miles so they can check their work.My check engine light came on after I got my truck back, and they read the check engine light code for free, even though it didn t end up being related to my transmission. They drove it for the check-up and talked me through how the rebuilt transmission might make driving feel different.
