I recently visited Dave Automotive for an oil change, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism and efficiency displayed by their staff. From the moment I arrived, the team greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome.The service was completed within the given time period, which was incredibly convenient for me. I appreciated their attention to detail and how they explained the process every step of the way. It's clear that the staff at Dave Automotive are highly skilled and knowledgeable in their field.Overall, my experience at Dave Automotive was excellent. Customer service here is good. Their repairs and approach used to match. However, now they have become expensive and as bad as any other repair shop in pressuring repairs. There is a new manager and that has changed entire dynamics.I no longer trust them. I feel let down unfortunately.They charged me extra for filter for oil change which was supposed to the included. Watch out.

No only can I rely on Dave's Ultimate Automotive to keep my 2007 Mazda3 sedan running well, I also know every interaction will be friendly, respectful, and caring. I will be informed about needed repair work, the reasons the work needs to be done, and the cost of the repairs. No surprises, excellent service. Thank you, Dave's!

I have used Dave s for 7 years since I moved to Austin. Always very friendly and helpful with whatever problem I brought to them. I was there about a week ago for replacement of my wiper blades and for an oil change. I told them the last few times I ve gotten my blades changed there they never really worked that great, so I wanted them to test them out making sure my entire windshield was covered this time. They did that and more. Best windshield wipers I ve ever had on this 14 year old Honda CRV. I called them on a spare, a moment to change my radiator fluid give it a flush and fill. They gave me a timeframe when it would be done and beat it by a longshot, had my vehicle back to me very quickly. And very nice people to deal with which is unlikely Usually with mechanic shops. Pretty fair prices.

First time being at this Daves location. They got me a half off oil change - thanks Bryan. Kotto is a thorough mechanic and put a patch on my tire because he had the time. I was going to check with my warranty from my tire place but he just did it as a courtesy. Seriously thank you so much.

These guys are great!!!! Very friendly and no push for you to have services you don't really need. I really appreciated how they explained the emissions testing results I have been using the dealer for routine Maintenace but not anymore.

Just wanted to say these guys took the time to give me advice on my car, despite the car being older than what they normally work on. Not everyone will take time out if their busy day to just give advice on something they aren't making money on.That is appreciated, and I'll keep these guys in mind if someone needs an honest mechanic.

The folks at Dave's Ultimate Auto on Howard Lane are truly some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable mechanics I've experienced. They took the time to install a new rear wiper after mine broke, and used genuine OEM parts to do the job quickly and efficiently. They also take the time to answer questions and never try to upsell you. It feels like going back in a time machine to when things were higher quality and you knew exactly what you were getting. Highly recommend them for anything and everything!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Wiper blade installation

Dave s did an amazing job. I had previously taken my truck to Ford and it was a horrible experience. Not only did they not fix the issue, they held my truck for over a week. Dave s immediately started working on my truck, and didn t stop until the issue was solved. They were always so polite and continued to communicate with me throughout the whole process. They even let me store my truck overnight in their locked garage since I was at work and couldn t get it until the next day. I will for sure be coming back here.Update: I was still having the same issue and Dave s yet again got it fixed and in a timely manner. I don t see myself using any other shop. Very disappointed. They tried to charge me over $1,000 to put park brake pads and hardware on my truck. I went to a local auto parts store and got all the parts and hardware for $90 and did it myself in just a couple hours. This was my first experience with mechanics in Texas as I am from out of state and so maybe they tried to take advantage of me for that fact. I'm not sure but if I can do it parked in the street and a couple hours with just basic hand tools and $90 worth the parts I don't see why it would cost $1,000 to do what I did.Service: Brake service & repair

I took my car in to get my A/C checked out as it was no longer blowing cold air. They looked at it and replaced a part and re-charged the Freon. Shortly after picking it up it stopped blowing cold air for a couple days but it started to work again after that. I was concerned as that seemed pretty abnormal. I called Dave s and they said to bring it back in. They looked at it and made the necessary adjustments free of charge and in a very timely fashion and I am back on the road. Would recommend giving this place a try.

I am a VIP member with Dave s. I took my car in to get the AC repaired and they quoted me $2,900. This number seemed extreme so I paid $225 for the diagnostic with them and went to Automotive Specialist where it cost me $1,900 for the exact same repair. I feel so taken advantage of and will no longer be taking my two cars there. I did not tell Automotive Specialist that I already had a price quote or diagnosis. This is the price they quoted me without knowing that I had went to Dave s for a quote.I have likely spent thousands of dollars that I could have saved going elsewhere. Consider shopping around instead of going to Dave s. I will not be returning.Service: Air & cabin filter replacement

Awesome customer service and incredibly fast (especially considering I got an oil change, new battery, tire rotation, and full inspection done in under 3 hours)! Another car shop messed up my car pretty good and Dave s is super honest about what was going on with my car, as well as offered recommendations for solutions. The staff even offered me their pizza they ordered for lunch, which was very thoughtful! I m 100% going back here!

Fantastic shop - every time I've worked with them they've given me a breakdown not only for what I'm there for, but also the work they've seen that could get done and told me the priority (this needs to be done now, this can wait, etc.). They're honest and the work is priced fairly - two traits that are becoming harder and harder to find in a mechanic. Last Edit: Well, it's been 6 months without a car. Long story short, I'm changing my review from 1 to 3 stars. As much as the past half year has sucked, Dave's stuck with me and actually paid for the repairs once the part came in even though I had them done at the dealership. They said they would 6 months ago and they did. It was a rough situation, but you gotta respect them for making things right. Not sure I'd ever go back, but maybe once the sting wears off in a few years.----Brought my car to them yesterday asking to get it inspected as well as do whatever repairs were needed to pass inspection (and my maintenance while I was at it). Less than 24 hours later and they've broken it worse than when I brought it in (it won't drive anymore, apparently - I drove it to the shop just fine), they tried to scam me into paying 700 dollars for routine maintenance, and they charged me 300 dollars in diagnostic fees just to tell me I should "bring it to a dealership" (I brought it here because the dealership is booked out to June). So my car is now non-functional when before it worked fine. I'm out 300 dollars. None of the issues I asked for were fixed or improved in any way. And my car still isn't inspected. This has to be the worst auto shop in the world.Edit: It gets worse. The way in which they broke it requires a dealership repair (according to them). The local dealership is booked until August. So this place just cost me my car for the next 6 months unless I can find another solution.I don't think I've ever wanted to review a place lower than this one.

Dave's stands behind their work. I know. I had to bring the car back. But they resolved my problem. You can't look up under a complex machine and be 100% sure every time. They were professional and solution driven. Josh helped me and was very precise in his explanations. I felt like I got what I paid for from Dave's. Real knowledge.
