This place really cares about the people they help. I brought in my car for an oil change and AC issue. When evaluating the AC issue, they took the time to ask questions and really understand the situation I was experiencing. They even explained what they noticed in simple terms for me to understand.They look at the car as a whole and really dissect the situation to come with an actual resolution vs charging an arm and leg for just a "bandage" like other places.Honest and reliable.Services: Air conditioning, Oil change

Best shop I have ever been to by far!! My AC has been out the whole summer. I was scared it was my compressor but it turned out to only be my cabin filter and a serpentine belt. They replaced my cabin filter, my serpentine belt, my brake light bulbs and my brake switch all for $165. They are very reasonably priced and super honest. I HIGHLY recommend this shop. They will not rip you off!!

This car place is awesome and they dedicated so much time to try to diagnose the very complicated issues with my cars. And in the end, only charged me for a tune up.

We've brought 2 cars to Brownie's. Great service and very honest. They'll not only tell you what's won't, but also if it needs to be fixed right away or not. All the people I've encountered are so nice! There's no frills, the prices are fair, and they stand behind their work. Love this shop!

Used these guys for larger jobs and smaller ones. So small that minor adjustments need to be figured out and done and it was done at no charge. Thats the kind of situation that shows the trustworthy nature of this business and its very appreciated. A great shop for all your car repair needs.

A1 SERVICE. My cousin recommended this place and they took my car short notice and did great work. When I realized I had forgot my card Jose was patient with me and then offered alternative ways to pay, like Apple Pay. And even showed me how to do it! I recommend this place to anyone. Fast and reasonably priced service !

I've been going to Brownie's for many years and always had a good experience. Even now that Jose has taken over, customer service has actually gotten better! I trust these guys with my car life, they always tell me straight up what needs to be done now, what can wait, and they have NEVER treated me differently because of my female status and are always happy to explain things when I ask. Thanks guys for being awesome!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. It's always nice to know there are still good people in this world, and Jose is good people. You can trust that his team has your best interest at heart. After dealing with a dishonest, greedy dealership service shop for an entire day, Brownie's saved the day and got my car fixed up within 30 minutes. Brownie's Automotive is the place to go!

Jose and the crew at Brownie's are fantastic. I have a '78 Ford Ranger that they take care of like it is their own. They have done brake work, radiator replacement, AC replacement/servicing, fuel pump replacement....whatever is necessary to keep this old truck alive. They shoot straight at all times as well. I've never walked out of there feeling like I've been hosed.

Brownie's is my go-to mechanic in Austin. I went in for a 130k mile check up, and they actually inspected all the parts of my car to let me know what needs to be replaced and what can wait another 10,000 miles. The Subaru Dealership would have just replaced and overcharged me for everything.Thanks for being Honest mechanics that do a great job!

Always quick, professional and affordable. They shoot you straight and help you prioritize needed repairs. Jose knows how to explain in lamens terms. I have taken my vehicle there over the last 3 years and always a great job. Highly recommend

I never write reviews but I had to say something about these guys. I love them! They have saved me so much money and worry, and kept my cars running smoothly. Today, they saved my butt so the kids and I were not out a car this weekend. Kind, honest mechanics. Can't recommend them enough!

Mechanic told me my Stabilitrak and ABS lights were on because my car needed a new CV axle. After paying close to $600 for the repair, I picked up my car only to find the Stabilitrak and ABS lights still on. About a week later, I had wheel hub assembly go out. While replacing it, I couldn't help but notice that only one halfshaft had been replaced despite being billed for the parts and labor for both the driver and passenger side. To make matters worse, they also lost one of my OEM wheel center caps and didn't even return my call when I called them about it.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

At a time where it seems like customer service is all but gone a place like Brownies comes along and just does it right. Staff are friendly and extremely knowledgable. I think one of the biggest fears for most people when it comes to taking their car to a shop is that they are going to be overcharged. Whether it be unnecessary repairs, inflated labor costs, or constant up-sells. At Brownies you don't have to worry about any of these things. They are honest with diagnosing problems and will explain all of your options for repairing the problem.I recently was working on my own repair and hit a snag when it came time to reassemble all of the parts. I talked to the guys at Brownies and they went out of their way to help me diagnose the problem and explain how to fix it. I would recommend Brownies to everyone and anyone that is looking for an honest shop that does quality work.

Brownie's is legendary status in my book, and I'm rather particular. I have many experiences of how Brownie and Jose have taken care of me, friends, and family... Long story short, if you want an honest, ultra-fair priced, "needle in the haystack" mechanic. You know what I'm talking about if you've ever found this unicorn before, call Jose!

They were 100 percent honest and showed me video evidence of work that was supposedly worked on and it was not the case. There honesty is why I will go to Brownie's Automotive in the future..

Very good & trustworthy mechanic, Jose know his cars. Price is very responsible. He won't try to make you do anything extra you don't need like others.

This will be by new go to mechanic. For one, it's very close to home. But more importantly, I had a service engine light come on. Nissan Frontier. I had gone to their neighbors Newman's Automotive in the past. They want $150 just to scan the code. This place will do it for free as well as any auto parts store. Since I already had the error code when I visited, they told me to go ahead and and replace MAF sensor myself before spending money on a shop. That right there is golden when it comes to a mechanic. I went ahead with there suggestion and Bam. My truck was immediately running like normal. Thanks guys! I'll be coming back for anything more serious

Always very honest opinions , feed back and prices. Do sometimes not charge if the issue is not solved. Jose is dedicated and know his field of competence. Trustworthy and straight forward

Good old school mechanic. It's not fancy but Brownie is fair and fixes the problem plus he takes the time to explain things in layman's terms. Don't let his eyepatch fool you this guy is honest.
