I recently had Steve and the Austin Moto Works crew tune up and restore my 1998 R1100RT. They were knowledgeable, professional, and delivered beyond my expectations. Steve is a very capable mechanic. His expertise if far beyond any of the other mechanics that I have run across in Austin. Great service, prompt and very professional. Best place in town for your vintage (and newer) BMW motorcycles. Steven is extremely knowledgeable, willing to give advice to a DIY'er like me and always professional with the work he does. I had him convert the front forks of my 1986 G/S to Racetech suspension and gold valves. He set it up perfectly and it massively improved the ride (there is a video on the website about it). I highly recommend AMW and the work Steven does.Service: Steering & suspension repair

Was super quick my bike was in and out in less than 2 weeks only because of shipping. Super helpful and cool guy. Showed me somethings about my bike i didn't know. I didnt even ask and he made my clutch smooth as butter thought it was suppose to be stiff. Really worked with me as I had a deadline to meet. Finished motorcycle a day early. Steve really knows what he is doing and runs a good shop. Austin Moto Works is the very best!!!!I have been riding BMW's for 47 years and have worked with many BMW Dealers and repair shops all over the US and Austin Moto Works is the best of them all. Professional, Experienced, impeccable integrity and excellent work done for all the bikes I have sent them. I highly recommend Austin Moto Works!!!!

I brought my GS650 Xcountry to Steve for the first time. He did the 18000 mi tune up and I could tell the difference as soon as I hit start. She has not sound sooooo good in a long time! I'm thrilled I have finally found a good BMW mechanic in Austin

What a great owner (Steven, Stephen*?),Called the shop one Sunday in need of a very specific bolt for a Triumph. I was not sure of the part # but just said "banjo bolt" turns out there are many types.Steven said he thought he had one and to come on over, when i got there it turned out the bolt i needed was a bit more specific and was not exactly what Steven had. So what does he do?He spent 30 minutes boring out a bolt to make it the banjo bolt i needed so I could get my bike on the road.Ohhh and when it came time to pay up he just asked me to pay it forward and support the shop..What a cool dude, if you are a beemer head you must go check him out.thanks Steven!

I had a spoked wheel that needed trued up and AMW was one of the few shops in town I called that still practices that black magic. Got it back incredibly fast, wheel rolls smooth and true, and all done for a very fair price. Great shop!

I needed a last minute part (a very random part specific to my bike) for my BMW the day before a ride to Baja, they had it, and it was at a very fair price.Pleasant to deal with, unlike a lot of other shops.

Really knowledgeable and helpful mechanic, a little on the pricey side with a long wait time. But you get what you pay for and this is a great option when you want it done right!
