Wish I could give them (him) more stars! I desperately needed my backseat Seatbelt fixed before having my baby in a few weeks. Called John and he was so accommodating around my schedule and getting me in. When I took my car in, the entire experience was amazing! He fixed my seatbelt in what felt like the snap of his fingers, and when he came back to give me an update in his office he was so open and upfront about other things he would be able to fix for me. I have quite a few other things needed done on my car and will 100% be taking it over to see him asap! I won t be going to any other mechanic as long as he s available! Overall very kind, inexpensive, very efficient, and a wonderful person/place to have working on your vehicle with whatever you may need.

Came in needing a new sensor installed, and a new trustable mechanic. They were very helpful, didn t charge me, and said to call the next time something came up. Awesome service, will be back.

One of the best and most personable Mechanics here in Austin. John and his team took care of my vehicles' engine motor mounts fairly quickly. We came to find out that one of the new parts was faulty and he was quick to take care of the problem.Even when he was sick and out of the shop, he still reached about to me and made sure that I was properly taken care of.Highly recommended them for anyone here in Austin!

Great experience here yesterday. I was originally going to take my car to a very reliable but pricy local mechanic but they were too busy. A friend recommended Amberger. Got my power stearing fixed up without charging an arm and a leg for unneeded work and even fixed my AC after completing the work I originally brought it in for. Was communicating with me through the whole process and even went above and beyond to get all the work done in one day so I could have my car ready for work the next day. Thank you so much John and team. Y all are my new mechanic for anything I need.

John Amberger and his mechanics provide honest and dependable service. They are quick to serve and very fair in the price. I will always only trust this place. We have been fortunate to not need too much service but when we do this is the place.

Great folks at Amberger. Fair prices, good people, they don t try to upsell you on something you don t need and they are fast. As long as I live in South Austin, I will always take my cars to these guys.

Came to Amberger for a radiator repair and suspension replacement and they did a fantastic job. Couldn't be happier. They also helped my mom when her car was leaking quickly and effectively.

HONESTY is the #1 quality I'm looking for in a mechanic. Luckily, I found that at Amberger Automotive. Not only were these guys genuinely honest and straightforward with their diagnosis and recommendation, they also displayed extensive knowledge and expertise in vehicle mechanics and repairs. I had a major malfunction that could have cost me limbs, but John and his crew threw me a bone, hooked me up at a VERY fair price, and now my vehicle runs better than it has even before I thought I was having car trouble. Took in a car for a clutch replacement. Excellent job done on time and for the price quoted. I was so happy with their quality work that I took my RV in to have some suspension components installed. More great work done at the quoted price which was fair. I can't recommend Amberger Automotive highly enough. An honest, quality shop to get your car repaired.

They were very patient and friendly! I came in for my shifter issues and they were willing to help out to diagnose right there then solved it! Definitely coming back again whenever my car need to get repaired.

Definitely bring your car to these guys. I was in need of some diagnostics to track down a bad issue with my car. Jeremy quickly took care of the task at hand and immediately started helping me track down what was wrong. They didn't overcharge, everyone was extremely friendly, and I felt confident that they were honest in only fixing and charging what was needed. Highly recommended.

Needed my thermostat replaced. John was able to help and had very reasonable rates compared to Firestone nearby and even better than the dealership. Definitely knows what he is doing and would highly recommend the shop. Glad to have found an honest mechanic nearby. Highly recommended.

We were super impressed with this family owned shop. Diagnoses wasextremely thorough and honest. John (owner) even sent me text messages with photos of the issues he found. The overall price is unbeatable as well compared to other shops. We had full front and rear brakes checked and fixed same day. Along with the initial work, a two year warranty was included as well.

They removed the blown engine in my Mustang GT And put in a new motor And various parts that needed to be replaced. They did the work for exactly what they told me it would cost. Returned to Austin after 15 yrs and was looking to find an honest professional mechanic to work on my muscle cars. Mr Amberger has fulfilled my expectations. He has a very friendly staff as well.I know good service when I see it as I served Our Country and I served the Community if Austin as a Police Officer for 25 yrs. kudos to Amberger Automotive. Job well done!

I brought my car in for several electrical and mechanical issues. Amberger diagnosed the problem quickly and provided phenomenal service. On top of that, the total price was extremely fair. I found my go-to mechanic. Thank you!

Really nice and honest mechanics. Tow truck driver recommended them once a year or two ago when my wife broke down and I'm glad he did. Will never go to another shop as long as their around.

We didn't have any work done here. The Guy was very detailed in finding solutions to an oil leak on a BMW X1. He works close with BMW dealerships. He found several recalls on this type of BMW. I believe after all the recalls we shouldn't have to pay very much money at all. Wow!

The only mechanic I would take my car to in Austin. They are honest and always do a great job. No matter what area in austin I live in it is worth it to me to take my car to Jon at Amberger.

Brought my 95 f150 here and they got it running like new again. Drastic difference from the condition it was in when I brought it in, and I didn t have to sell my kidney to pay for it.

Told me a price to replace the catalytic converter, when I went to pick the car up, price was higher (that's fine because when working on a car prices can very, but he never called to warn me) After leaving his place check engine light came on again, I went back to his shop to ask what was wrong and a young employee was threatening me, wanted to fight me, along with John. Terrible place and people, stay away from these people, not worth!
