Took my 2012 4wd Silverado in for a TCC soloinod code and had to have the diagnostic done in one day. These guys not only diagnosed the issue, they showed me a picture of the clean pan and let me know exactly what needed to be done and for a third of the price first quoted based off just the code. They could have easily just shown a picture of a dirty pan with shavings and told me I needed a new transmission!Service: Transmission

If u live in Amarillo and need a mechanic. Hit this place up. Superb customer service and an abundance of knowledge/experience on cars/trucks. Been told by multiple people that this place is where I need to go. So I gave him a call. He did not charge me to look at it. He literally took my transmission apart in front of me and showed the small part that broke in my transmission. He also recommended some parts that have been updated on my truck and showed me videos on how the updated parts would best suit me. When he saw me calling for an Uber he then gave me a ride home. Reasonable prices for good quality work and good customer service.

Son and S & S Transmission have been the absolute best to deal with. We were recommended to them after we bought a used truck with lots of engine problems a few months ago and they''ve been awesome. Our truck is running excellent now and we will never use any other shop. We've been looking for another used pickup and Son is guiding us in the decision process and happily looking over the ones we are considering before we purchase. Keith and I love this shop!

After a blown transmission at the beginning of a cross country trip. Son and his team rebuilt the transmission in my 1976 chevy van. The day we picked it up began a six month, 10,000 mile trip around the United States. The transmission preformed without a flaw! It was tested!! Bulletproof, just like Son said it would be! These guys are top notch!

If you want top class service this is the place to go. Fast friendly service. They only use the best parts. If I didn't live so far away I'd take everything to them. Fair prices and dependable service. People that take pride in there work and stand by there product. Anyone that rates this business less than 5 stars is stupid

My 1970 Ford F100 C6 transmission was leaking very bad. Took it to Son for a rebuild. He got it done in 1 week and hedid not go over the price quote. Excellent job. Transmission runs perfectly and doesn't leak a drop.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

We were pulling a travel trailer to Utah.I thought the transmission was acting odd,so we stopped at S&S to get it checked out The people there were friendly and professional.Turns out that I was not accustomed to driving into a 30 MPH headwind. They told me it was okay and offered to service the transmission since it was well past recommended service. Peace of mind is priceless,and S&S certainly did that. While moving from New Mexico to Houston the transmission decided to blow all the fluid out of it about 5 miles from the Texas New Mexico border. We were referred to S&S and are so glad. They had the truck towed within a couple of hours and diagnostics done very quickly. Even with the holidays they were able to get it done quickly with an awesome guarantee and the best customer service ever. Son was so very thorough. Son and his group of mechanics were very friendly and knowledgeable! My transmission was broken and they fixed it better than new! All that needed to be fixed was shown to me and explained in detail before any work was done. When work was complete Son took me on a test drive and made sure I was 100% satisfied before I took my truck home! Went here for 2nd opinion. Son and his team are very welcoming. They were efficient and informative on the replacement of my transmission. Son will walk you through everything thing that will need to be done, as well as extensive care for your vehicle after work is complete. I've had plenty of work done by other shops, but never had a shop be so thorough and informative. Their prices are on par with other shops, but the care they give is the bonus.Service: Transmission

After my transmission started slipping while in route to Colorado from Louisiana, I stopped in to S&S transmission Specialist to have it checked out. They did a complete tear down in front of me and explained all of the findings. They ordered all new heavy duty replacement parts and showed me the new parts side-by-side with the old parts and explained every detail of how the new parts were better designed and manufactured. They explained every part of the function and the operation as well as rode along with me during a test drive while towing my trailer to check the functions and temperatures before allowing me to get back on the road. Son even gave me a follow up call two days later to ensure that I made it to my destination and to find out if I had any issues or questions with the function of the transmission. Talk about customer service with the ultimate in quality! I have had the transmission rebuilt previously for less money and I paid the price twice for taking the cheap route. No other shop took the time to diagnose and correct the issues. They would just rebuild with cheap parts and get me out the door. S&S is a true American business with focus on high quality and top notch customer service. I would recommend without hesitation.

S & S Transmission is the auto shop all mechanics should aspire to be. The owner Son and his staff provided second to none service. I was having transmission trouble on my home to Phoenix when I brought my truck in. They quickly diagnosed the problem and got me back on the road. Through out the process Son would have one of his staff pick me up to keep me informed on what they where doing. Great service. My transfer case went out on my Dodge pickup and they took great care of me. Price was right what I thought it would be, and they stayed in touch with me the entire tire. Highly recommend this shop. Everybody is amazing and my truck is running great!!!

Everyone was very helpful, Son explained everything that needed to be done and walking me through aftercare of my visit to help prolong the life of my rebuilt transmission. Very fast and great quality work Everyone in the staff I talked to was very kind and helpful. Definitely would recommend to anyone and everyone who is needed transmission work. They do quality work! They redid my husband's Ford Explorer's transmission! It was a little costly, but well worth the work and price. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The owner Son is a great guy! He is very personable! He also fixed my Cavalier bumper for free. They do excellent work! It just takes some time, but so worth it!Have transmission problems? Son is an amazing mechanic and person! S&S replaced the engine in our vehicle. They communicated and explained everything they found wrong with our vehicle and what it would take to fix it. The cost was very reasonable and honesty is hard to find, these days. S&S IS our new mechanics. Definitely recommend them!

We have used S&S multiple times now. S&S Transmission did a great job on my 2011 Lexus SUV. We spent quite a bit of money on a problem that had been misdiagnosed by others, and S&S was finally able to fix it! They use first quality parts, fairly price their work and are knowledgable people of fine integrity. Highly recommend.

S&S just serviced my 745 LI BMW. There was a major problem with the engine and I was so much afraid to bring to the BMW dealer. Luckily I found S&S workshop to fix my BMW. The workshop did such a great job and with such a good price that I would not be able to get it fixed anywhere. Technicians are so well trained to work on the most expensive vehicles and I was impressed with their technical knowledge and experience that average mechanic wouldn t even touch these highly difficult and mechanical vehicle to fix but they did such a good job to fix my vehicle that I am very happy and glad that I brought my vehicle at S&S to get it fixed. We are so lucky to have S&S Transmission in this town as people don t know it and they get ripped off by these dealers paying unbelievable money to get their vehicle fixed. I will highly recommend to use their excellent service.Dr. Hafeez

Sonny and his staff are the very best auto mechanics in Amarillo. My upgraded rebuilt transmission runs like new 4 years later. I highly recommend S&S Transmission!! Son and his mechanics do much more than transmissions, they can diagnose and repair practicality any vehicle on the road.

I was in a real bind. Originally to truck to dealership and they advised I needed a new transmission but a replacement transmission was on back order and could not tell me when they would be able to do the repair. I was stranded in Amarillo indefinitely. I called S&S and they located new transmission within 45 minutes. They ordered transmission and replaced the transmission the next day and at a cost less than the dealership quoted. Very professional and follows thru on promises. We were on a trip and lost fifth gear on our truck. Son, the owner, took a test drive with me, diagnosed the problem, got the part ordered and by noon the next day we were back on the road. Pricing was extremely fair. Two other shops said the only thing to do was put in a new transmission. They gave that advice over the phone. If we d listened to them we would have spent more time and dollars. Son was genuinely concerned about fixing our truck and getting us safely back on the road. Thank you!Service: Transmission

Awesome shop. My wife and I were passing through Amarillo, and our vehicle broke down on I-40. We had it towed to a AAA shop in town, who barely looked it over, told us our transmission was shot, and quoted us an outrageous price to put in a random aftermarket transmission. I found Son and team and took my vehicle to them instead. Son could tell I was a little distrustful of the whole situation, being stranded and from out of town, but he quickly put me at ease. His team removed the transmission, dismantled it right in front of me, and showed me exactly how and where it had failed. They put in a genuine GM transmission with a three-year warranty for over $1,000 less than the other shop tried to charge me, and showed me everything they were doing to my vehicle every step of the way. Son and his guys even picked me up from my hotel and dropped me back off - three times - so I wouldn't have to call an Uber. They've also called me to follow up and make sure the vehicle was doing well. Great work and great service. I will certainly be back there if I find myself needing mechanical work in Amarillo!

I have done business with S&S for over 27 years. They are by far the best and most knowledgeable about all types of vehicles. What I like best is the dont only do transmissions. Son and his team are very professional in the way they conduct business. I had a problem with my trucks transfer case and as soon as I got there Son test drove it himself. In just a few couple of hours they had the transfer case out, called me back to go through the break down process to show me exactly what was wrong with it. They got the job done in just a few days and right the first time.I would recommend Son and his team at S&S Transmission to family and friends. That s how much confidence I have in his shop.

I have been using son and his staff to work on my truck for a while now. They do great work but that isn't the reason I use them. Yes it's awesome that they get your truck back to you fast and fixed correctly but to me their sense of humanity and compassion is truly inspiring. There have been occasions that son has came in on a Sunday to let me get my truck out, when I fell on hard times and wasn't able to fix my truck son didn't even charge me labor. That's just the kind of person he is. He listens and looks out for his heart instead of his wallet. Thanks Dustin smith
