Called these guys about a brake fuild leak and no brakes (2014 Ford F150 Raptor) on 09/19/2023 around 9:30am . They told me to comes right over and when I showed up, they looked at it right way. Turns out my brake pads were gone, rotors need ed to be replaced, along with calipers. They did an exceptional job and had me finished before closing. Most definitely will be coming back for other work.

Was on a road trip, and my ac went out. They were quickly able to figure out the problem and get me on the road within an hour. Very nice and reasonably priced, highly recommend.

I had a terrible experience from John's Auto repair. I took my traverse in to have the transmission switch replaced. The owner damaged and broke other areas of my steering column while replacing the switch. The steering cover and sealing fixture were torn apart. In addition, some of the steering column screws were not reinstalled at the end causing loose screws to rattle around the engine while I drove.When I went back to the shop (within minutes of picking up the car) to show the team there the damage that had been done, a team member said the would order a replacement part and would fo the work to repair what was broken. They said the would also find the lose screw and reattach it.....Great response right???Well it would have been great if they would have followed through. From that point on, the owner dodged my calls and texts and just stopped responding to me. I requested a refund so I could use the money at another shop to fix what they'd broken and did not receive a response.This shop caused more monetary damage to my car than the cost I paid for the transmissions switch replacement. I always try to be optimistic about people in this world and try to see the good in everyone. I was not able to do that with John's Auto.I strongly believe that God will make a way and fortunately He was able to make a way for me to navigate through this issue.I strongly recommend you NOT use them for services.

My Ram 3500 started losing coolant and Randy discovered it's a small problem that he fixed at minimal cost. Absolutely stellar service. I can recommend them highly. Honest kind smart diligent and incredibly great people.

i had a whole engine over haul with gaskets replaced,valves replaced,even my crankshaft just to have it leaking oil still/even more than before

My boyfriend is driving from Louisiana to Denver and woke up this morning with a non operating vehicle. He was able to get it towed to Johns where they could fix him up to be able to make it home. What really stands out is the personal experience my boyfriend received here, where (I believe John, or whatever tech was working) showed my boyfriend what was wrong and should something happen between Amarillo and Denver, how to fix it again. They truly became friends during this 5 hour experience that most would consider to be dreadful. We have already agreed to stop by and treat him to dinner next time we go through.

My daughter was passing through Amarillo and had trouble with her car. I called John's Auto and asked them if they could help her. They went and got the car and diagnosed the car quickly. They then got the car in as soon as possible and had her on the road the next day. Thank you for helping her and not taking advantage of the situation, restores my confidence in American small businesses. Called shop talked to owner asked about diagnostics testing on my Oxygen sensor. He told me to come in that day @ 1:30, ran the diagnostics, located the problem, gave me a price qoute. I went in the next mornig while replacing my Oxygen sensors, he also noticed power steering leak, repaired it as well. I had lug nut missing as well he replaced that as well. I recommend John's auto repair as my problems were not only diagnosed & fixed, but he found other things & repaired them as well.I was a first time customer ,but I live in Amarillo and should I ever have any other problem they will be my repair shop for sure. We were stranded in the middle of the New Mexico desert. We managed to get a tow to Jon s auto, got here right before closing and the next morning they looked at it and repaired our van by 10 in the morning. Customer service was fantastic, they even got us a ride to a car rental place and hotel for the night. Highly recommend. 10/10 would get stuck in Amarillo Texas again hahaha.Service: Auto maintenance

I was traveling through the panhandle having trouble with the ac. Randy was very kind to get a room for my son and I so we didn t have to wait out in the heat while he took it a paper and looked at it. It turned out to be a simple fix and for that he did not charge me, because he knew we had a long trip ahead of us. Honest, kind and fair, these are my kind of people. And our ac is working great! I am very grateful for their help and I d like to recommend to take your car/truck/van here for any servicing you need! Good people make good business.

We got stranded in Amarillo passing through from Dallas to Denver on Christmas Day, and these guys saved the day! Can't thank them enough for answering our call on a holiday and offering to help us out. Highly recommend them for any emergency or routine maintenance on your vehicle.

On New Year s Day morning we contacted Randy regarding an antifreeze leak. We were traveling from Michigan to Arizona. We met him at 9:30 that morning and he fixed the problem, we were back on the road in less than two hours. Thanks to his professional work and helping us that day we were able to get on he road and make it safely to our destination. He went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. Thanks Randy!

When entering Amarillo, we heard a not-fun sound coming from the engine. We were staying the night, so we took the Subaru into John s to see what was wrong. Randy took great care of us by diagnosing the problem (timing belt pulley) and promptly was able to get it fixed. We didn t even have to pay for another night at the hotel because of how speedy Randy was. Cost was very reasonable too.Highly recommend this place as they took good care of us and got us back on the road again.

Randy was a legend cannot recommend enough, we needed a quick diagnostic regarding our coolant, he assessed the problem, identified it wasn't what we thought it was, fixed us up and sent us on our way!! Highly highly recommend.

I was on a cross country move from Florida to Washington, when my car started making weird noises in Texas. Every time I turned the wheel, it sounded like gears were grinding together. I immediately freaked out and decided to take it to a shop, rather than run the risk of my car breaking down entirely. I found John's Auto Repair by googling it and read all of the good reviews and decided to give them a call. They immediately got me in to the shop and checked out my car. I needed a new CV shaft. They explained what that was, why it needed to be replaced, what the risks were of me not getting it replaced, etc... These gentlemen were completely fantastic. They ordered the part and immediately installed it within an hour and a half. I was back on the road in no time. They were so kind and let my aunt, my dog, and I sit in the office and wait for the work to be completed. If anyone is in Texas with car troubles I would highly recommend this auto shop any day. They were absolutely amazing and I want to say thank you so much!

Fantastic service! We're very happy that we found John's Auto Repair. We were traveling through Amarillo on a Sunday, and basically, our van started falling apart. There's no way we could've made it five more hours home. I called about 10 minutes out, and Randy met us there. He took great care of us, had the van ready to go within 24 hours (had to wait til Monday for a part), and I believe charged a fair price, especially for a Sunday call out. I would highly recommend this mechanic!

John's auto have to be one of the best and honest auto shops left. I flew in from Atlanta, Ga and my work truck broke down. It took me 6 hours to find an auto shop that would see me. I called Randy and told him my situation and he said "come on". I told Mr. Randy I had to be in New Mexico for work and I was going to leave him with the car and rent a vehicle. As we talked he told me " I'll take you to get the car! Don't waste anymore money on a driver service . The work and price was right on time and within my budget. Thanks Mr. Randy and stuff.

Amazing shop. I was on a cross country trip from California to Virginia when all of the sudden my alternator decided to die. I was so fortunate for it to happen close to John's Auto. As soon as I told him I was traveling to Virginia he began working on my car. He was able to get the part delivered and installed in just a couple hours. And it was much cheaper than I thought it would be. If he wasn't able to get me back on the road so quickly I would have been right in the middle of tornadoes the next day in Oklahoma. This shop was literally a life saver. 100% recommended.

Honest, speedy, quality service. I was traveling solo and needed some basic maintenance and found John's. I was told they prioritize travelers and the work truly did not take long. As a young female, I feel sometimes car places will try to take advantage of me and overcharge, but I felt these guys were honest and charged fair prices. I'd definitely go back.

On New Years, my car had an emergency check engine light flashing and was misfiring at idle. I called the shop hoping that they were open and within 10 minutes Randy, who was on call that day, called me back and offered to take a look at it when I drove through Amarillo even on a holiday and nearly after normal business hours. Within 15 minutes he had it fully diagnosed and fixed within an hour. We were back on the road thanks to Randy. He was a real life saver, honest, and wonderful!

We had two overlapping surprises on a road trip in Amarillo where we knew no one and just lucked out that this shop was closest to the hotel. Randy got us taken care of first thing in the morning, diagnosed a totally different problem than what we had previously thought, and got us to a fix smoothly and quickly. Drove to Santa Fe that same afternoon and continued our trip without further surprises.

Further confirmation of what the other reviewers say, Randy at Johns Auto Repair is the real deal with quality and customer service.You can even ring the shop number after hours and it will ring through to his cell phone. If you live or work in Amarillo or just find yourself with car trouble while passing through, this should be your first call.He diagnosed and replaced my broken CV shaft in about two hours and even pointed out noise that indicated other parts that would soon need replacement. Most other shops would have tried to upsell me on the other repairs, he didn t. He knew I was on a timeline so he fixed just what was needed to get me safely on the road and gave suggestions for the other repairs knowing he would not be the one to get the business from it.

AC went out traveling across i-40 when is was 95 degrees out. Our older dog with heart problems was with us so we were in a panic to get it fixed quick so he didn t over heat and so we could continue on our trip. Call them and they told me to come right in, they had an open bay waiting for me when I got there and they both got to work on it and were able to fix it right away at a great price. Thank you!!! Honest, caring service is hard to find but these guys were awesome!

Randy and Paul were fantastic. My boyfriend, two dogs and I were stranded at a gas station after my SUV s starter died on us. We were on a cross-country move from WI to CA with all of our stuff crammed in the vehicle with us and very few options, so after checking what we could on our end (battery, wire connections, starting in neutral, and all the other tricks we could think of) we finally took to Google and decided to call ahead and get ourselves towed to Johns Auto Repair. We were helped pretty much immediately from the moment we were towed in, and we were safely on the road with a new part in a matter of hours. The mechanics are knowledgeable, honest, helpful and fast, and we couldn t be happier with our experience here. Thanks guys! We appreciate your help so much!

"SERVICE" BEYOND "TEXAS" STYLE - Randy is one of the good guys on the planet. Helping those in need with genuine spirit and asking for nothing in return. - Traveling from Oklahoma to California on Thanksgiving weekend and our 08'F-150 we recently purchased was about to blow a spark plug and we needed to see if it could be repaired. I searched for best rated car repair and Johns Auto Repair was listed first. Just like that we were rolling again. Thanks Randy ! - We got as far as Tucumcari and spark plug #2 was ready to go ! So I called Randy once again and we had the truck towed back to Amarillo. This time, we had to leave the truck, and rent a car to continue our journey. What do we do with all of our carpentry tools and the kitchen sink to boot? Randy offered to hold them for us and lock them up in a shed he had out back(lot's to off load). So we left our truck and all of our carpentry tools with him for 4 months. He worked hard to find us a new motor at a great price, but we decided to just have the truck hauled off. When we returned to pick up our tools 4 months later Randy had all the tools organized and ready to go and charged us nothing ! So we went to dinner and Randy offered his spare room for the night at his home. Many blessing to you Randy, we will be back to say hello. God Bless and thank you so much for all that you did for us. Wonderful!! Highly recommend!! Very nice gentleman. Was traveling out of town from Tennessee when my car wouldn t start. I called Johns Auto and he came to my hotel took a look and jump started my car. Followed him to his shop where he checked everything out and turned out it was the battery. He replaced and got me back on the road in less than an hour!!

Randy did a great job! Really knowledgeable and friendly! Made me a priority because I was traveling across the country when I began having problems. Made sure everything was operating properly before I left. Prices were fair and affordable! I would recommend this business to anyone!

During an emergency move from NV to TN our car started making a horrible noise when we left the hotel in Amarillo. We stopped here and I went in panicking and sobbing like a crazy woman. They comforted me and assured me they would help. Within 30 minutes we were back on the road. I ve never been so thankful. These guys are genuine, honest and caring. If we lived in Amarillo we would only take our cars here. Thanks guys! We made it safe!

I got pulled over in west TX for a headlight out on my way from KS to El Paso. I called this place at 8 AM the next morning to see if any chance they could replace that headlight. My GMC PU requires removing the air box just to replace the bulb and I had no tools. Anyhow, John told me to come on in and he had me done and back on the road in a 1/2 hour. When I asked about the bill, he says don t worry about it. Of course I refused and insisted there was no way I would let that happen when he dropped everything to take care of me first thing on a Monday morning. Thanks so much John! Excellent Service!!!
